[solved] mmg from mkvtoolnix doesn't work
Hi guys
I just wanted to use mmg to make a mkv video file, but starting it from terminal, it only shows the following
% locale
LANG=de_DE.utf8
LC_CTYPE="de_DE.utf8"
LC_NUMERIC="de_DE.utf8"
LC_TIME="de_DE.utf8"
LC_COLLATE="de_DE.utf8"
LC_MONETARY="de_DE.utf8"
LC_MESSAGES="de_DE.utf8"
LC_PAPER="de_DE.utf8"
LC_NAME="de_DE.utf8"
LC_ADDRESS="de_DE.utf8"
LC_TELEPHONE="de_DE.utf8"
LC_MEASUREMENT="de_DE.utf8"
LC_IDENTIFICATION="de_DE.utf8"
LC_ALL=
% mmg
Fehler: Die Sprachumgebung konnte nicht erfolgreich gesetzt werden. Bitte überprüfen Sie die Umgebungsvariablen LANG, LC_ALL und LC_MESSAGES.
For the non german guys here:
% locale
LANG=C
LC_CTYPE="C"
LC_NUMERIC="C"
LC_TIME="C"
LC_COLLATE="C"
LC_MONETARY="C"
LC_MESSAGES="C"
LC_PAPER="C"
LC_NAME="C"
LC_ADDRESS="C"
LC_TELEPHONE="C"
LC_MEASUREMENT="C"
LC_IDENTIFICATION="C"
LC_ALL=
% mmg
Error: The locale could not be set properly. Check the LANG, LC_ALL and LC_MESSAGES environment variables.
Do you guys have the same error messages? I just want to be sure, that it's not my fault, before I post a bug report.
Here I found, that this was already fixed at a much earlier version of mkvtoolnix, so I really have no idea, what's best to do. I recompiled it, didn't change a thing.
Thanks for your help :-)

Ok, solved! I created a testuser and it worked for this user. So I removed all unneeded config files from my home directory and now it works again. Don't know what exactly caused this, but well, everything's fine again :-)

Yes pacman -Sy is no good habit. I use it because I'd like to experience the newest version of a software. (This won't break the target software, right?) As a remedy I frequently run pacman -Syu when the system is free. -
Why Position:Relative from CSS doesn't work at Safari 5.03?
If you watch my web page: http://clubdeleonesst.tk
I designed a ComboBox and have some problems with position relative. I used jQuery to create it, you could watch the original example here:
http://www.marghoobsuleman.com/jquery-image-dropdown
And I have been watching that the transparency from Flash doesn't work too. I hope you can solve these bugs.

Message was edited by: FANMixcoThe "disappearing" affect you describe is not normal. You may need to reinstall Safari.
First, try removing the Apple cookies from your Safari Preferences>Security>Cookies panel. Also, go to your Safari Menu and Empty cache. Then try to log-on to Apple Discussions.
Also, regarding the "disappearing" effect, try Safari from another User Account.
Here is guidance from Apple on how to set up the account. You can ignore step 7 in the article.
Also, on the system preference>Accounts panel, click on "log-in" options. There, select "fast user switching". This allows you to go back and forth between user accounts via an icon in your Menu Bar at the top of the computer screen.
Log-on to the new account and start Safari. If Safari is stable in the new account, then your problem is specific to your regular user account. Otherwise, similar response means a system-wide problem.
Post back with results. -
Edit in Photoshop from Lightroom doesn't work; Automate Photomerge doesn't work
Edit in Photoshop from Lightroom doesn't work.
It opens the Photoshop application with all the menus/windows, but it never opens the actual image I chose to work on.
Likewise, I also can't automate>Photomerge ... I pick all the images for the PHotomerge and hit "okay," but nothing happens. Makes me think it's Photoshop, not Lightroom, that is all wacky.
I'm on a Mac, using OS X Yosemite, 10.10.1 Lightroom is version 5.7 Photoshop is CS5, version 12.0.4
I uninstalled Photoshop CS5 and reinstalled. No change. I also tried dumping PS preferences, but that didn't affect a thing, either.None of my "Edit In" worked with the pictures in Lightroom for a particular folder. I expanded the 2014 folder and found that two subfolders had a "?" in front of the 2014-07-04" and another. In other words, the folder was missing. After I found the missing folders using the Lightroom "Find Missing Folder" option, I was able to use the "Edit In" menu item. The 2014 folders weren't expanded at first, so I didn't see the ? marks in front of them. With the missing folders, Lightroom's "Edit In" option was basically telling me there was no picture to "Edit In." Howerver, I have Previews and Smart Previews made when I import picture files into Lightroom. So, the "pictures" showed in the slide strip on the bottom, and also in the display in "expand," but it was actually only showing the previews I had built, not the actual missing pictures in the missing folders. I had accidentally moved some directories using Windows Explorer, and I didn't realize my "happy fingers" moved them outside of Lightroom. Of course, Lightroom has no way of knowing I moved them, and just shows the "?" before the missing folder name. After expanding the root folder, then knew what to do. Fixed it easily. It was frustrating, and took about 20 minutes to see the problem. And that fixed the greyed-out "Edit In" Photoshop CC 2014, and all the other plug-ins were greyed out too.
Hope this fixes your problem.

Can't seem to get rid of any photos in Photo Stream from my iMac. Following instructions from Apple doesn't work!
You need to update iPhoto. The latest version is 9.4.2.
To do your updates, do the following:

"Exclude page from menu" doesn't work
Choosing Page > Page Properties > Menu Options > Exclude page from menus doesn't work for me in the current release. Anybody else having this problem?
Humm?
Just tested both your process and again by going to Plan View > rt-click on page > Menu Options and both instantly remove the page.
Have you tried just making simple/quick test site with 2-3 pages and trying?
Maybe somthing in your site and not in Muse that's causing the issue. -

What does the problem with modules mean? Archlinux was warning me, that "in future releases /etc/modprobe.d/framebuffer_blacklist.conf.save will be ignored, but it is the same file as /etc/modprobe.d/framebuffer_blacklist.conf.
I don't understand, why it cannot find any screens (I use a laptop screen)
I tried to start with and without xorg.conf, which is:
Section "Device"
Identifier "Intel X4500MHD"
Driver "intel"
VendorName "Intel Corporation"
BoardName "Mobile 4 Series Chipset Integrated Graphics Controller"
BusID "PCI:0:2:0"
Option "DRI" "true"
Option "AccelMethod" "uxa"
Option "MigrationHeuristic" "greedy"
EndSection
The graphic driver I use is xf86-video-intel-newest from archstuff, but it is the same version as xf86-video-intel.
I am not sure if I provided all needed info, but I hope so. Thank you for your help.SOLVED

Delete messages from server when deleted from iTouch doesn't work
Hi everybody,
Two questions really...
One is that with my 2nd gen iTouch I was able to set IMAP settings and it would show all of the folders (other than Inbox) that I have created on my mail account. The 4th gen iTouch doesn't seem to let me see the sub-folders.
The second is that I have my account set to delete messages from the server when they are deleted from my Inbox, but that simply doesn't work.
This is withe the iTouch 4 and OS 4.1 (8B117)
Any suggestions?
ThanksIs it possible that I have the wrong Server Port entered? I didn't fill in that field at all. I think it was filled in automatically. I guess I would have to contact my hosting company's support team to know what the server port is.

[SOLVED] - xset at startup doesn't work
I use the following command to set my screensaver options
xset dpms 30 60 300
After reading the Arch wiki, I found out that this can be made permanent by adding this to the xorg.conf or putting it in ~/.xprofile

That may get around the problem bernarcher describes...

[solved] tmux rebinding prefix doesn't work?
Hi everybody,
I decided to try tmux out, so I installed it and played around with it abit ... okay, it's pretty neat, but I've got to bind the keys to the same way I bound them for screen or I will go insane, so copy and paste, from the man page:
Commands to be run when the tmux server is started may be placed in the ~/.tmux.conf configuration file. Common examples include:
Changing the default prefix key:
set-option -g prefix C-a
unbind-key C-b
bind-key C-a send-prefix
So I stick
set-option -g prefix C-a
unbind-key C-b
bind-key C-a send-prefix
in ~/.tmux, that unsets the "C-b" binding, (so I can't do anything), but it doesn't bind "C-a" successfully. Has anybody here successfully rebound their prefix?
Last edited by pseudonomous (2010-04-09 22:16:14)Hi, Jasonwryan. Thanks for your response.
It turns out the problem was tmux wasn't automatically reading ~/.tmux, if I pass
tmux -f ~/.tmux
then I can get your config to work, I'll be the example from the man page works too.
Edit:
To elaborate on this problem, the file is supposed to be called "tmux.conf", not tmux. This is what I get for not reading carefully enough.

[SOLVED] External USB mouse doesn't work
I've installed Arch on my laptop and today faced with a problem. When I boot with AC off my external USB mouse doesn't work. Also it looks like USB ports don't work. If I detached AC when working mouse works fine.
I can suppose there is some problem with laptop mode. May be it turns off usb ports to save energy. Anyway quick search doesn't brings any results. If someone give me a hint how to solve this problem I'll be very grateful.
Last edited by avli (2011-07-14 16:53:15)Well, after diving into configs solution has been founded. The point was to disable auto suspend feature in laptop-mode-tools config by setting BATT_SUSPEND_USB variable to 0 in /etc/laptop-mode/conf.d/usb-autosuspend.conf
Hope this information will be helpful for users who probably faced with the same problem. Thank you! -

[Solved] ASUS F3Ka bluetooth doesn't work
Hi everybody!
Can anybody help me with getting bluetooth to work on ASUS F3Ka please?
Here is the dmesg output:
[n0ne@darkstar ~]$ dmesg | grep Blue
Bluetooth: Core ver 2.11
Bluetooth: HCI device and connection manager initialized
Bluetooth: HCI socket layer initialized
Bluetooth: L2CAP ver 2.9
Bluetooth: L2CAP socket layer initialized
Bluetooth: HIDP (Human Interface Emulation) ver 1.2
I've got bluetooth daemon in my DAEMONS array in /etc/rc.conf
BUT it still doesn't work:
[n0ne@darkstar ~]$ sudo -s
[root@darkstar ~]# hcitool inq
Inquiring ...
Inquiry failed.: No such device
Any ideas, please?
Last edited by alcazoid (2008-03-29 22:48:00)some stuff ive noticed with laptops and bluetooth...
- bluetooth/wireless works in a lenovo i recently installed ubuntu in only after I suspend to ram. This is due to some weird Radio kill switch bug
- sometimes leaving bluetooth and wireless turned on on wiindows has its effects in linux, because windows drivers sometimes do not release control of the hardware. So try a cold boot, and if that doesn't work, a reboot from windows...'
- try variants of leaving the bluetooth switch on/off during the boot process
none of these actually seem like logical solutions, but thats how bluetooth/wireless and linux sometimes is..good luck! -
Paste from powerpoint doesn't work
Hi,
I'm working between powerpoint and pages. I'm trying to copy pictures from a powerpoint and paste them into my pages document. I've tried using the menu options to copy and paste and it still doesn't work. If i copy a google image and paste into pages it works. When I try copy and pasting text from the powerpoint to pages it works. the problem is solely w/ pictures.
note that I've tried this on my iMac same pictures same versions of pages (newest 5.5.1) and powerpoint (2011, 14.3.9)
please help.
ThanksI've updated and tried what you mentioend and it doesn't work as mentioned above i loaded the files on my iMac and it worked but still doesn't work on my macbook pro

Finding XML file from EJB doesn t work.
Hi all:
I have an EJB accesing a XML file to parse a XML document. The file is in the classpath, and sometimes the EJB finds it and sometimes not.
What happens?
When the EJB finds it, DOMParser method, parse(InputStream), doesn t work.
I use this file to config DB connection externally for my BC4J (I don t use JTS).
Thanks in advance.
Joaqumn.Well, it won't work as iWeb has no import facility so cannot open html files.
What you could do is upload the html file to wherever you are hosting your site and create a link to it from iWeb, or find another package similar to the one you are using at present that is for Mac rather then PC.
