[Solved] Mouse Sensitivity options missing in GNOME 3.8

I have a fresh install with GNOME 3.8 and the mouse sensitivity options are missing, although according to the documentation they should exist. There are no optional packages for gnome-control-center that would enable such a thing, and I have xinput installed.
Am I missing a package or configuration option of some kind, or is this a recently removed feature?

Logitech EX110 wireless, I can't remember really, I never felt like I'd needed to increase the senstivity until recently. Tried a new user, made no difference, tried a new mouse however, and the Mouse Sensitivity option appears. Apparently it depends on what mouse you are using, I thought those kinds of settings were applicable to any mouse but apparently not. Solved I suppose, I'll probably buy a new keyboard and mouse soon anyway.

Hi, you can use xset to change the mouse sensitivity!

  • Gnome & Mouse Sensitivity

I just got Gnome installed and working tonight and I'm trying to get used to it (As compared to Windows XP). My first biggest issue is the way the mouse sensitivity works. In Gnome, the System > Preferences > Mouse slider bars don't seem to function properly. Only acceleration seems to have any effect on the speed of the mouse cursor. I don't want to use acceleration at all; I simply want to make my mouse move faster or slower.
Why is this behavior so weird? Am I doing something wrong?

  • Logitech MX518 - mouse sensitivity buttons [solved]

    Hello everyone.
Does anyone know, how to disable default behavior of Logitech MX518 mouse sensitivity buttons (the ones on top of mouse with + and -)?
I am looking for this thing for some time, and have no luck.
Only one thing I managed to find out is, that those two buttons dont send any events - in xev there are no info after pressing them. So I think problem is that evdev dont send any events (or is it kernel?).
    My xorg setup is
    Section "InputDevice"
    Identifier "USB Mouse"
    Driver "mouse"
    Option "Device" "/dev/input/event4"
    Option "Protocol" "evedev"
    Option "ZAxisMapping" "4 5"
    Option "SendCoreEvents" "true"
    EndSection
If anyone know anything helpfull, please let me know.
PS. I hope I am posting in the right section

    Hi!
First, I'd just like to introduce myself and say that i really love Archlinux and the community here. Arch is really exactly what I was looking for in a distro.
That said, I'm bumping this topic since I have a very similar problem but the proposed solution doesn't seem to work for me.
I too, would like to free up my logitech MX518 sensitivity buttons. I have installed lomoco but it isn't working for me.
"lomoco -h" gives me the following in a terminal:
003.003: 046d:c051 Unsupported Logitech device: USB-PS/2 Optical Mouse
I've also taken a look at my lomoco_mouse.conf in /etc/udev but the settings there actually doesn't seem to change anything.
The solution may be simple but I'm really at a total loss and have no idea where to go from here. I appreciate any help I get. Thanks.

  • Aperture 3.4.3 - shared photo stream option missing

Shared Photo Stream option missing from Preferences in Aperture 3.4.3.  When I move photos over to "Shared Photo Stream" under Recents, it seems to import the images, but I'm not sure where they're going....i.e. I never specified a Shared Photo Stream name to associate them with.  Thoughts?  I'm running 10.7.5.

Where do you see "Shared Photo Stream" under "Recent"?
The Photo Streams are supposed to appear in the "Web" section of the library, not in the "Recent" section. Are you seeing a recent project there, accidentally named "Shared Photo Stream"? Then you are dragging your images to a project, and not to a stream.
Look in the "Web" section of the Library inspector for "Photo Stream". If the stream is hidden, hover with the mouse to the far right of the title "WEB", until the word "Show" appears.
Selecting a stream and opening should make the "PhotoStream" button appear in the footer of the window.

    Hi,
As a further test to identify whether this is a hardware or software issue, try the following.
    1.  Create a bootable Ubuntu CD - a guide on creating an Ubuntu CD and the download can be found Here.
    2.  When created, follow the guide on the link below to Try Ubuntu.
    http://www.ubuntu.com/download/help/try-ubuntu-before-you-install
The 'Try Ubuntu' option runs the OS from the CD without the need to install on your HDD.  It will be slow running from a CD but let me know if you get audio.

  • [Solved] Mouse speed with evdev

The old mouse driver in xorg had an option
    Option "Sensitivity" "float"
that can be used to slow down high sensitivity mouse. Is it possible to do the same with the new evdev driver (having found nothing in the Wiki). For now I have
    Option "AutoAddDevices" "off"
in the ServerFlags section and I continue to use the old mouse driver (as xorg < 1.4). Can I use the new feature without losing the Sensitivity option?
Edited: The evdev driver support 'Option "ConstantDeceleration" <Float>'  that do the trick; it was not so easy to find it.

    Have you tried with xorg.conf?
Edit: Ah, I get it, it won't be recognized anyway.
How about that xset? Can it be used to slow down too?
    Or maybe xinput:

  • Acrobat 9 Std - Comments- 'Enable for Commenting And Analysis In Reader' option Missing

    Hi,
We've purchased a copy of Adobe Acrobat 9 Standard, and need to enable comments in Reader for PDFs that we create in Acrobat.  The option to "Enable For Commenting And Analysis In Reader" seems to be missing from the "comments" menu, even though all the videos/tutorials insist it's there.
I haven't found any threads about this yet, and searched google for the missing option + "missing" along with other things.  Nothing related came up.
Any ideas on what we could try?  Or why this is happening?
    Thanks!

I don't think Standard has this option. Acrobat Pro does.
    This page confirms it: http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/matrix.html

    Can you execute:
