[SOLVED] Need help adding key combinations

I have xmonad-contrib installed. Here's my xmonad.hs:
import XMonad
import XMonad.Config.Gnome
import XMonad.Util.EZConfig
--import XMonad.Actions.UpdatePointer
--import XMonad.Actions.CycleWS
main = xmonad gnomeConfig {
borderWidth = 2,
normalBorderColor = "#000",
focusedBorderColor = "#f00",
focusFollowsMouse = False,
terminal = "urxvt",
modMask = mod4Mask --rebind mod to super key
`additionalKeysP` [
((mod4Mask, xK_u), spawn "xmonad --recompile; xmonad --restart")
-- moving workspaces
--("M-<Left>", prevWS ),
--("M-<Right>", nextWS ),
--("M-S-<Left>", shiftToPrev ),
--("M-S-<Right>", shiftToNext )
When I try to compile I get the following error output:
Error detected while loading xmonad configuration file: /home/ting/.xmonad/xmonad.hs
xmonad.hs:7:8:
Couldn't match expected type `XConfig l0' with actual type `IO ()'
In the return type of a call of `xmonad'
In the first argument of `additionalKeysP', namely
`xmonad
(gnomeConfig
{borderWidth = 2, normalBorderColor = "#000",
focusedBorderColor = "#f00", focusFollowsMouse = False,
terminal = "urxvt", modMask = mod4Mask})'
In the expression:
xmonad
(gnomeConfig
{borderWidth = 2, normalBorderColor = "#000",
focusedBorderColor = "#f00", focusFollowsMouse = False,
terminal = "urxvt", modMask = mod4Mask})
`additionalKeysP`
[((mod4Mask, xK_u), spawn "xmonad --recompile; xmonad --restart")]
Please check the file for errors.
xmonad: xmessage: executeFile: does not exist (No such file or directory)
I'm not exactly sure what it means by:
Couldn't match expected type `XConfig l0' with actual type `IO ()'

I just copied a template xmonad.hs and modified it to contain exactly the same as before. I'm not sure why but it works now.

  • Need help adding schedule to xcode 4

    I need help adding a tour schedule for an iphone app building an app for 13 djs and they want thier tour schedules added these need to be updated monthly is there a way to add this????

    I don't know if this is the easiest way but it works for me. I connect the DVD player to my camcorder (so it's the 3 plugs yellow/red/white on one end and a single jack into the camera). Then I connect my camcorder to the computer (I think it's through a firewire port). Then I just play the DVD and the footage is digitized via the camcorder and I import it into iMovie 4 as it's playing. I believe the camcorder is just in VCR mode.
    I have also used this method to transfer VHS tapes onto DVDs via the camera by connecting the VCR to the camera.
    I haven't had much luck with movies over about 40 minutes on iMovie. But if it's home movies, there may be a logical break. Do maybe 20 minute segments (it's also really easy on iMovie to add a soundtrack if these are OLD films with no sound.
    As you can see, I'm low tech!
    Good luck!

  • [SOLVED] Need help with setting up X

    Hello guys am new to the forum and this is my first post here. I am in need of a little help.
    Need help with X configuration. It starts like this, I installed xorg-server , xorg-utils, xorg-server-utils. When I tried installed xorg-init it says no package, anyway I ignored and moved on.
    Now I installed regular mesa stuff and installed xf86-video-ati driver for my HD4250 graphics adapter. with libgl and ati-dri (I have old arch wiki print so it mentioned to install those while newer doesn't list some stuff)
    Now the problem is that Xorg -configure doesn't work with newer X and nor the packages has generated /etc/X11/xorg.conf file.
    Anyway I created the file manually and added each and every section as mentioned in the "old" guide that I have.
    I even added a /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/20-radeon.conf file for my graphics card with the content as
    Section "Device"
    Identifire "r"
    Driver "radeon"
    EndSection
    After manually creating all such files I installed x-term, xclock and twm. But when I tried to start X by startx or Xinit it says command not found. Add to that a simple X shows couple of errors.
    Please see the errors here Paste #399362 | LodgeIt!
    Some more questions : My old guide mentioned to install HAL while newer guide on the net mention DBUS. Though I have added DBUS to be on the safe side but why not HAL ? Is it because of Udev ?
    So please help me getting X up and running.
    Regards
    Last edited by Shashwat (2011-06-04 09:47:47)

    Ok  I sorted out the misprints in the file and installed xinit but still can't get it to work.
    1. There are few errors in xorg.conf that I cannot make it out.
    2. The X output says no screen found. ?
    http://paste.pocoo.org/show/399383/
    Now when I add EndSection at the last its says invalid parameter and when I remove it, I get an error "No EndSection, EOF missing"
    Kind of bugging
    Please do help.

  • I have a godaddy website with a welcome page- I need help adding a few additional pages with a hyperlink to my welcome page.

    I need help attaching a few hyperlinks my godaddy welcome page. I have 2 more ipages articles, I also converted them to pdf. Godaddy only helped (last year) with the 1st article.  I do not know how to attach a hyperlink to the artlcles and add the hyperlinks to my welcome page.

    The program is called Pages not iPages. Just let us know if you do not speak English and what language you do speak so we can adjust for that.
    The issues are to do with your web page not with Pages.
    I think you are asking how to link from your web page to your pdf articles. You must first copy those pdfs to your web server, or some other web location, and then provide html links on your welcome page to those pdf files.
    The pdfs themselves may contain links to other locations but I can not see that that is what you are asking for.
    Nor to what those links would be to.
    From your heading I think you may have confused the name of Pages, the word processing program, with web pages which are two different things.

    UUID=c1822e3c-e037-4445-bdd8-b71778237dee / ext4 rw,relatime,data=ordered 0 1
    # /dev/sda2 LABEL=SYSTEM_DRV
    UUID=D2DF-9F74 /boot vfat rw,relatime,fmask=0022,dmask=0022,codepage=437,iocharset=iso8859-1,shortname=mixed,errors=remount-ro 0 2
    And this is the fstab on my SSD which I edited:
    # <file system> <dir> <type> <options> <dump> <pass>
    # /dev/sdb1
    UUID=c61a1301-4728-465d-b40b-bde5e084eb50 / ext4 rw,relatime,data=ordered 0 1
    # /dev/sda2 LABEL=SYSTEM_DRV
    UUID=D2DF-9F74 /boot vfat rw,relatime,fmask=0022,dmask=0022,codepage=437,iocharset=iso8859-1,shortname=mixed,errors=remount-ro 0 2
    But I'm not sure about the /boot entry, do I need something else here?
    Afterward I tried updating rEFInd by reinstalling using refind-install, but that did not work.
    ps. I dual boot with Windows.

    I also tried adding the menu entry manually by editing refind.conf but that didn't work. I got:
    Invalid loader file!
    Error: Not Found while loading vmlinuz-linux
    Here is some additional info:
    refind.conf:
    menuentry "SSD Arch Linux" {
    icon /EFI/refind/icons/os_arch.png
    volume "ArchSSD"
    loader /boot/vmlinuz-linux
    initrd /boot/initramfs-linux.img
    options "root=/dev/sdb1 ro"
    I hope this helps.

  • [SOLVED :)] Need help with adf table row selection

    Hi,
    In my application I am displaying results in a table. The DisplayRow property of table is set to Selected
    There are Next and Back buttons which help user to view details associated to the next/previous rows.
    I am using ADF 11g
    When user clicks Next or Previous button, then the selection of the row should also gets updated
    To achieve this i wrote below piece of code:
    this.tblS.getSelectedRowKeys().clear();+
    this.tblS.setRowIndex(count);+
    RowKeySet rks =  tblS.getSelectedRowKeys();+
    rks.add(tblS.getRowKey());+
    rks =  tblS.getSelectedRowKeys();+
    ISSUE:_
    When i run application and click Next/Previous Button, all functionalities do take place properly, but a null pointer exception is also thrown._+
    If i remove DisplayRow property of table from Selected to Default, every thing works good and no Exception is thrown_+
    But as records in my table are going to be around 50-60 everytime, i need to set DisplayRow property of table to Selected.
    Is there any way to achieve this? Solve this problem?
    Some more details:_
    I am using a POJO class to create DataController. This DataController is having a view Object which is used to create results table.
    I have defined Primary key for my POJO Data Controller.
    Here is code of xml file:*
    +<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>+

    Hi Arun,
    Thanks for replying.
    Actually in my application there is one result table and a section that is displaying complete details of the product selectd in result table.
    The next/previous buttons are not binded with result table.
    What I am doing is, I am puuliing data from VO and displaying it on form, whenever any of these buttons is clicked.
    As soon as these buttons are clicked data is coming up, but selection state of table is not getting updated.
    So to update selection state i wrote piece of code described in my previous post.
    Everything works fine if displayRow property of table is not set to selected.
    If i set display row property of table to selected, then i get a null pointer exception with message log defined in previous post.
    Although NPE is thrown, yet all data is properly fetched and table selection is also updated. But am not able to get how this NPE is coming and hpw to fix it .
    (I need to keep displayRow = selected, for all other cases NPE is not thrown)
    Please help..
    Thanks and Regards

  • Need help adding video to a site

    Hi Everyone:
    I really need some help please. The owner of a site I am
    working on sent me a DVD with video's he has taken and wants them
    put on his site.
    The files are VIDEO_TS and are MPEG files. How can I add the
    video's to the site so that when I user clicks on the link, they
    are able to either view the site or download the video to watch
    later. I have other video's added to the site but I was able to
    copy them and safe them the way there were added. The owner sells
    products from the site I copied them from.
    The site I am working on is www.buggyworld.net. Most of the
    individual pages for the vehilces have videos on them and I am
    trying to add these new ones the same way. I have never done this
    before so really not sure how to. The videos that are already added
    at Windows Media Audio/Video Files and that is how I would like to
    convert this video to.
    Any help would be so greatly appreciated.. thank you
    Linda

    Best bet would be to make Flash video so that everyone who
    wants to (and has
    the Flash Player plugin) can see them. Do you have Flash?

  • Flash CS5 Newbie - Need help adding URL link to animated banner

    I apologize if this is a very basic question, but I am a newbie at designing in Flash. I have created a basic animation in Flash CS5 and I need to add a clickable URL link to it. I've tried a few tutorials that looked promising, but none of them solved my problem. I've tried a number of things including converting parts or all of the images to simple buttons or movies and linking them that way as well as typing in code for ActionScript 2 and 3, none of which were successful. The animation plays correctly when viewed in my browser, but when I click on it, the link does not work. I would prefer that the entire banner be clickable to take viewers to the linked website rather than using hyperlinked text. Also, when I open the Code Snippets window, it is empty, no matter what image or frame I've selected. Do I need to import code snippets from somewhere or am I simply going about things the wrong way? Any help is greatly appreciated!

    It all depends whether you're decisively using AS2.0 or AS3.0 .
    In the latter, you would need to use a URLRequest() method in conjunction with a navigateToUrl() call (not sure the exact syntax for navigate to Url, it might be a capitalized "URL" in the method but the request takes a String argument such as http://www.adobe.com)

  • HELP some non working keys on keyboard HP G60-519WM laptop..might need help removing keys?

    I have had this laptop for a couple years now and I haven't had any problems with the keyboard, keys or their connection with my laptop. I have never spilt anything on it or been aggressive with the keyboard either. Tha essential problem is that now my T,Y,P,K,M keys and the CTRL and PAGE  keys (to the right of space bar) no longer work after cleaning my computer. There might be more but I haven't been able to tell what the Fn button and some function buttons fully do.
    How it all began:
    Two weeks ago I noticed that the fan on my computer kept running and the computer would get warmer quite easily and take longer to cool down. It also started lagging or loading things slower than it should.
    So I went onto HP's site and found their information on cleaning fans and vents and the information I saw in it mentioned all the problems my computer had. So I decided to follow their directions on how to clean the fan, vents and keyboard. I noticed alot of dust and small hairs from my dogs and small lint balls..more debri then I thought would be in my laptop.Nothing huge or that I would see as damaging but it definitley needed a cleaning.
    So I let the computer sit for a while and then I turned it on and that is when I noticed some of the keys no longer worked. I decided to see if the device was installed properly and the computer said it was working fine, so I figured it might be debri stuck under the keys.
    I followed the directions on how to turn off the computer and I got a small tool and a light to look under the keys and remove what I could see.. I did that with all of the keys, not just the ones that stopped working. I was surprised I was able to get alot of stuff out from under the keys. BUT the same keys still didnt work.
    So far at this point I have used the on screen keyboard and an external keyboad (what I am using to write this) and thos keys work fine. I have checked the BIOS and the same keys didn't work (on the bios black screen). I tried to check the device and for updates or any errors and I didn't see any problems. I attampted to uninstall my keyboard which initially said it was a 101/102 keyboard and then when i restarted to finalize the process..the device registered in its place was now called a standard keyboard and the computer didnt ask me to reinstall the one i uninstalled.initially. So I don't know if that was a successful way of doing that or not.
    Sorry for my novel but I just want to make sure anyone who can help knows what I have been doing. My questions now are;
    A. did I do the bios test right?
    B. did i uninstall my keyboard right? if so then why would a different keyboard already be on as a device without me doing anything? if i didn't please help me on how to..
    C. I feel like there is debri trapped under these kes, is there anyway to remove each key to clean and inspect? if so how, because I haven't been able to find out any useful information about that process on this computer/keyboard?
    D. is there any thing else I could do besides removing the keyboard and replacing it?
     PLEASSE HELP ME?? THANK YOU!

    you did not push the clips all the way in to secure the ribbon cable for the keyboard. the clips push a little further than you think if you do it right you can tug on the cable and can't pull it out.

  • Need help adding 2nd laptop to router WRT160N

    I need to add another laptop to our home network so it can connect to our internet connection.  The 2nd laptop shows our home network as an available network connection, however, when I try to connect and enter in the key, the computer gives me a message "please wait while windows connects to the xxxxxx network- waiting for the network"  This message stays for approximately 45 seconds then disappears, leaving me at the wireless network connection screen.  I have confirmed the network key is correct.
    I can connect to the internet if I choose an unsecure connection so I am wondering what other items I need to configure.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!

    Yes, those sound like they should be compatible security modes.
    What I'd suggest is to reboot your second laptop and power-cycle the router, see if that helps you to be able to connect both laptops.
    If that doesn't help, then write down any configuration data that you'll need to re-enter after resetting the router.  There's a recessed reset switch on the back of your router, hold that in for about 30 seconds and release it.  This will set the router back to factory defaults, so you'll need to re-enter your configuration data using the router web GUI.  Then try again to reconnect with both laptops, and see what happens.  Please post the results from trying these.

  • Need help adding AM/PM to my clock program

    Hi everyone
    I would be grateful if you could help me adding AM/PM to my clockDisplay program, been trying but i'm not very familiar with Java.
    Thanks
    I have used 2 classes:
    NumberDisplay and ClockDisplay
    the clock automatically convert hours after 12 noon such as 14:34 to 02:34 so all i need is to add PM and AM accordingly.
    NumberDisplay classs:
    public class NumberDisplay
        private int limit;
        private int value;
        public NumberDisplay(int rollOverLimit)
            limit = rollOverLimit;
            value = 0;
        public int getValue()
            return value;
        public String getDisplayValue()
            if(value < 10)
                return "0" + value;
            else
                return "" + value;
        public void setValue(int replacementValue)
            if((replacementValue >= 0) && (replacementValue < limit))
                value = replacementValue;
            else if ( (replacementValue>=limit) && (replacementValue>=0) )
               value=replacementValue-12;
        public void increment()
            value = (value + 1) % limit;
    }ClockDisplay class:
    public class ClockDisplay
        private NumberDisplay hours;
        private NumberDisplay minutes;
        private String displayString;    // simulates the actual display
        public ClockDisplay()
            hours = new NumberDisplay(12);
            minutes = new NumberDisplay(60);
            updateDisplay();
        public ClockDisplay(int hour, int minute)
            hours = new NumberDisplay(12);
            minutes = new NumberDisplay(60);
            setTime(hour, minute);
        public void timeTick()
            minutes.increment();
            if(minutes.getValue() == 0) {
                hours.increment();
            updateDisplay();
        public void setTime(int hour, int minute)
            hours.setValue(hour);
            minutes.setValue(minute);
             updateDisplay();
        public String getTime()
            return displayString;
        private void updateDisplay()
            displayString = hours.getDisplayValue() + ":" +
                            minutes.getDisplayValue();
    }As you see value=replacementValue-12; do the job.
    i tried do this:
    if(hours.setValue(hour)>=12)
    updateDisplayPm();
    else
    updateDisplay();
    and for
    private void updateDisplayPm()
    displayString = hours.getDisplayValue() + ":" +
                            minutes.getDisplayValue() + "PM";but it didnt work.
    so should iwrite if statemnt in NumberDisplay class and refer it to ClockDisplay or i can do something in clockDisplay.
    Looking forward to hear from you
    thanks
