[Solved] nm-applet panel icon disappeared after update

I know there are tons of topics here on the nm-applet icon in the panel, but I can't seem to find one that helps me.  I am running xfce4 and the NetworkManager icon was showing up perfectly fine in my notification area until I did an update.  The text of the update log is found here:
http://pastebin.com/G1sSuw1H
I didn't see anything on the update list that I thought would mess with the nm-applet icon.
NetworkManager itself is working fine.  When I login, I get the little pop-up bubble in the top right corner telling me that I am connected with a button to not show again.  But the icon is just gone.  I believe that I have everything installed that is needed because it was working.  All I did was do the update mentioned, reboot, and it's gone.
Any ideas???

Thank you!  Just filed today... great work.  I downgraded gtk3 and will watch that bug report for an update.

  • [Solved] Gnome 3 Shell - Icons Missing After Update

After my last update session, some icons went missing in Gnome. Even more unsettling, only some are missing. From what I can tell, my application icons haven't gone anywhere, but things such as minimize, restore, close, etc. are 404. Here's a photo to explain: https://vps.nullh.net/uploads/gnome-icon-issue.png I also noticed nvidia is included in the last update. I searched the forums, but all of the other problems seemed to be different problems (e.g. application icons were all bunched up/missing, desktop icons "missing", etc.) I feel like I should probably have more icons in the folders, too, but I haven't looked in there before the problem to be sure. Also, Alt+F2 "r" doesn't make a difference, the shell reloads but the icons are still AWOL. If anyone has any ideas, I am all ears.

  • Siri & voice to text icon disappeared after update

After trouble shooting at the Apple store last night, I updated my operating system to 6.1.  Now the icon for voice to text is missing from my messaging choices and Siri is gone as well....thanks for your help!

Voice control needs to be turned on in the Privacy settings options...
If you're still having problems with audio sounds not playing (like ringing, notifications bells & beeps, or audio from videos or podcasts) like I did, this is what you do:
Go to the Apple store and tell them of your issue.  One question they will ask is if the phone has been exposed to any humidity.  They will take your phone to the back and look inside with a microscope and determine if a particular connection on the pcb is corroded.
If you're under warranty, or close to the past expiration date, they DO have the option to exchange your phone for a new one.
(there are other methods to clearing this issue, such as turning it completely off, cleaning the ports with an alcohol damp qtip and/or doing a complete reset)

  • Apps don't disappear after updating

My updated apps don't disappear after updating concludes on my iPad.  I noticed that this only started happening after installation of iOS7.

    Hi Aleagle,
Just so you know, the reason this was changed for iOS 7 was in conjunction with the Automatic Update feature that was also introduced with iOS 7. If updates to apps are being done automatically, then you would have no way to know what apps were updated or when. This new list in the Updates tab was added to provide the update history information.

Find my friends Icon disappeared after upgrade to ios 8. I tried restarting as well as reinstalled the app but its not working. I can find it in Usage, but not in spot light. Pla help!!

I have exactly the same problem on a 4S on iOS 8. Have tried uninstalling, deleting FMF from backup, resetting phone and restoring from backup, but the problem remains. Sometimes the icon appears on a backup Home screen in iTunes, but it never appears on the phone itself. The app is accessible by going to the store, purchases and opening it from there. The app appears to have been running the whole time, but becomes invisible anytime I return to the home screen.
