[SOLVED] Opening link in Kopete results in Firefox opening link twice

Hi, I am using the most up to date stuff, and the version of Firefox I am using is the KDE-OpenSUSE version from the AUR, though I have also tested this using the stable 3.6.13 from the repository and the effect is the same.
When I click a link in Kopete (and finch for that matter using right click > open link) Firefox opens up two tabs with the link. I have Firefox set as my default browser in the KDE system settings, "firefox %u"
After searching on google I found a similar problem but the bug report was for Mac OS X in 2009/2010 and was supposedly resolved. Anyone else have this problem?

Yeah that solved my problem, I wonder why it does that, in other distros I have used the %u was standard and I never noticed any weird problems like this.

Low resolution of Google Image Search results in Firefox Android

I'm new to Android, and I've noticed that Firefox brings up lower resolution Google Image search results in comparison to the same image search on Chrome for Android. When I click on an image result in Firefox it gives me the option of going through a low resolution slide show of all the image results, or clicking to see a single full size image. But that takes me out of the slide show, and then I have to backtrack to continue on with the low resolution slide show.
Chrome allows you to see the full resolution images within a slide show, allowing you to swipe from one full res image to the next.
Is there a way to get a slide show of the full size image results in Firefox Android without having to jump through all the hoops to see the full size images?
So far this is the only drawback I've seen with Firefox Android. I would much rather use it vs. Chrome because of Firefox's ability to use plug ins, especially adblock plus.

Perhaps I didn't write my post clearly enough. A Google image search on Chrome produces image results (via slideshow) of superior quality than an identical slideshow on Firefox. Your answer implies that Google sends higher resolution images to Chrome than it does to Firefox. I find that hard to believe.
Chrome apparently renders its Google image search slideshows using full size images, while Firefox does not. Rather than providing the full size images within a slideshow, Firefox seems to use lower resolution thumbnails, then forces you to click on a "Full-size image" button for each image that you want to see clearly. I was hoping there was a way around that.
My original question was if there was a way to increase the quality of the slideshow results in Firefox so you don't have to click on the image to open it up at full res., then backtrack to get back into the slideshow, then do the same thing all over again for each and every image you want to see clearly in full size. On Firefox you have to do all these extra steps that you don't have to do in Chrome. So, based on the answers so far I guess I guess that's just the way it is and there's no way around it.

Firefox 10 - Needing to Click on web links twice before page loads

Any one else got the same problem as me? I've upgraded to Firefox 10 on two systems now and have the same problem on both, When you click on a weblink, some times you need to click on the link twice or press F5 before the new page loads. it dont happen all the time. It kinda bugs you after some time lol Never had this problem on pass versions of FF, crome and IE seem to work fine

You may have an add-on doing this. Start FF in [[Safe Mode]] and see if the issue still persists. If it doesn't disbale your add-ons one by one to see which one is the main one causing this issue.

Why do I have to touch links twice on my Ipad 1?

I don't know what's going on or when it happened? But now I have to touch links twice in order to get things to open on my ipad1. For example. I go to a newspaper website, say www.mlive.com. The first time I touch a link to a news story it just highlights (underlines) the link. The second time I touch it, it actually takes me to the story. What is going on?

A long shot, but check the AssistiveTouch setting in Accessibility in the General settings and see if that perhaps got turned on. If it's on, try turning it off. If not, try the usual steps: restart, reset, restore.

I think both times were through Firefox.
James is right when I click "About Firefox," it tells me that it's still '34.0.5.'
Then I guess my question now is why 35 doesn't get installed while I think I did what I supposed to do and restarted twice?
How can I open 35 instead of 34?
Meanwhile, now Firefox is strongly recommending to install 35.0.1.

Ok let me ask you IF the IT department of your workplace does NOT want OS X installed on "THEIR" (The Companies) computers because of what they think is some type of security issue why are you trying to go against their wishes and install OS X on a computer that is NOT owned by you.
That could cost you your job.
If you continue down this path you will screw up the Windows install and have to take the system back to the IT department to get it fixed. What do you think they will say at that point?
Do as you like but you would be better off just buying your own Mac computer if you are set on using OS X as your personal operating system.

My CS4 file opens up twice each time I open it -- here's an example - the original filename is "drawing.pdf", yet it opens as: "drawing.pdf:1" and "drawing.pdf:2"
I must've mistakenly typed the wrong key command or something...

You have created two views of the same file. Close one of the views, make a change to the other view and save. Then close and reopen and you should be good to go.

When applying an effect I have to click the link twice before it works

Firefox 5.0 for Linux: sometimes the middle button on a link does nothing, sometimes it opens the link twice - What can I do?

I just updated Firefox from 4.x to 5.0 on Ubuntu 10.10 32bit.
Since then, the middle button of the mouse works erratically on links.
Sometimes the middle button opens a new tab with the link (which is correct), then replaces the current page with the link (which is not correct).
It was particularly annoying when I tried to bypass what looks like another FF5 problem: clicking on "next" or page 2, 3, 4... on a Google results page gives nothing. Clicking with the middle button opens the page in a new tab... but also replaces the current one. Refreshing the page after clicking "next" or a page number seems to work.
Is it a bug or a config problem? What should I do from now?

Right click on the hyperlink and select “Open Link in New Tab," that will open a new tab and keep you from getting a blank page like most people get. I don't know why they changed this option. If you don't want to do that every time you can change it in the config.

I imagine you have Firefox set as the default browser. Unset that in firefox
* Tools -> Options -> |Advanced| -> |General| -> system ... and uncheck the option to always check that Firefox is the default browser
* now open IE and use IE's settings to set that as the default browser
Now if for instance you open an internet link, or a HTML file on your Windows XP desktop they should open in IE
Post back with how you get on.

I have a laptop, we recently changed to ATT MIFI and now it gives me a time out error when I try to open firefox. How do I solve this problem. I really like firefox.

We just changed to ATT MIFi and every time I try to go into firefox it give me "The connection has timed out". My husband's laptop doesn't give him that error. I had previously been on satellite (hughes.net). I had problems with explorer but that has been fixed. I really like firefox and would like to get it fixed.

iphoto its pictures are still on your computer under the pictures folder.. it will be one file that says iphoto library. Its a separate file from the actual program.
If you still have the disks that came with your unit they have the ilife applications on them. put the disk in your drive that says mac os x applications dvd. it will auto mount and there should be a folder called bundled software open this and there should be a .pkg file to reinstall the ilife suite which includes imovie iphoto iweb idvd and garageband . After installing don't forget before runnig the program run software updates to download the any fixes
if you r unit has disks labeled disk one and disk 2.. you need to boot off of disk one and choose install bundled software.

[SOLVED] Open Email Links In Chromium With Evolution Openbox WM

I have tried everything I can think of to get this to work. Such as:
xdg-mime default evolution.desktop x-scheme-handler/mailto
xdg-mime default evolution.desktop application/mbox
xdg-mime default evolution.desktop x-scheme-handler/mailto
I tried opening a shell and typing
export DE=gnome
chromium
I also tried looking into the xdg-email script. I saw a mailto variable and set it to "evolution %s" and that didn't work. It looked like it copied the binary to my home folder.
If anyone uses this same combination can point me in the right direction I would appreciate it.

In WIndows 8, Google search results for Firefox (only) appear in a narrow column on the left of the window.

Firefox (25.0.1) and Google worked well together until 11/26/2013 when a guest user searched on Google. Google search still works well on IE and Chrome. The problem is only on Firefox and only with Google. Bing, Ask, Yahoo, Wikipedia all perform and display as expected. No recent installs or upgrades. No other search engine returns results in a narrow column on the left. It is as if the guest user dragged the results to the left column and that display became the default. I can not restore the prior display. I have restarted Windows. I have reinstalled Firefox, but that has not fixed the problem. I have disabled all add-ons (I do not have any) and run in safe mode, The problem still exists. Appearance is Default 25.0.1

Use a compressed image type like PNG or JPG to save the screenshot.
Opening in the sidebar is the default for bookmarks that are created via a link or button on a website.
You can check the Properties of a bookmark via the right-click context menu in the sidebar (Ctrl+B; Command+B on Mac). 
In the Bookmarks Manager (Bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks) you can click the More button in the Details pane at the bottom right. 
Make sure that "Load this bookmark in the sidebar" is not selected.
You can try these steps in case of issues with web pages:
Reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.
*Hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button

Rh9:Unable to view PDF files from search results in Firefox

Is this a Firefox plug-in issue, rather than a Robohelp issue?
Background info:
Using Rh9
Firefox 23.0 (latest version)
Works successfully in Chrome (latest version) and Microsoft IE 8 and IE 9
Using Firefox, I am able to view the test PDF file from within a topic, via a hyperlink. Unable to view the test PDF when it appears within the search results.
Failure behavior
Information message appears at the top of the screen, indicating that "This PDF document might not be displayed correctly."
A button appears: "Open with Different Viewer"
In the main frame, the page is blank except for the Adobe Viewer controls: i.e., zoom, page navigation, download, print, ....
Any ideas?

I think it is an Acrobat issue. I have seen it and with PDFs not linked to Fm or Rh. Sometimes you can see the issue and sometimes you don't. I also have Nitro PDF and that displays the PDF without problems.
If it is a PDF you create, I guess you could try some different settings or use something else to create it to see if the problem goes away.

Do a MALWARE check with Malware Scanning programs. You need to scan with all programs because each program detects different malware. Make sure that you UPDATE each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.
