[SOLVED] Opera is UGLY. (certain fonts and menus)

I usually install Opera after I have KDE installed and running, but this time I decided not to, and I'm paying for it. the SS shows the ugly (look like gtk1) menu's, and choppy text on the AUR page.
edit: I thought I followed the font wiki pretty well... I have ttf, and *-lcd packages installed

That opera screen reminds me the first time i installed arch and tried opera (and of course the second time the next night -> nobody learns at the first attempt)

    What font? What system? What Glyph? What language settings? Could be anything. Either way, ask in the AI forum. You'll get quicker answers there - if you provide all the required info.

  • Why is my mac missing certain fonts and not displaying some pictures, is just a little blue box with a question mark in it?

    When I open documents it always comes up with warnings that I am missing fonts and some cannot be replaced.
    Also now I am noticing that some pictures are now missing and are replaced by a small blue box with a question mark in the middle. Can anyone

  • [SOLVED]CompizStandalone-GDM,ugly theme,keyboard and desktop handling

    Hi, i believe i have successfully installed compiz as standalone but i have a few issues;
    1. Fist of all i cannot change my keyboard layout. I tried this https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Xo … t-Plugging and i have following in my xorg.conf but no luck
    Section "InputClass"
    Identifier "Keyboard Defaults"
    MatchIsKeyboard "yes"
    Option "XkbLayout" "tr"
    Option "XkbVariant" "alt"
    EndSection
    2. Second, i have to do Ctrl+Alt+F1 then startx to get compiz working. Is there any way that i can add this to GDM just like any desktop environment ?
    3. How do i use the desktop ? I have set up a wallpaper in CCSM and folders are opening in Firefox.
    4. Lastly, themes look ugly. Is this normal or did i miss something ?

    1. I'm not sure how to help here; I think xmodmap migh tbe involved? I use the standard keyboard layout and switch to kana input with Anthy through IBUS.
    2. I use a .desktop file with LXDM and a script to accomplish this.
    The .desktop file (/usr/share/xsessions/compiz.desktop):
    [Desktop Entry]
    Encoding=UTF-8
    Type=XSession
    Exec=/usr/bin/start-compiz
    TryExec=/usr/bin/start-compiz
    Name=Compiz Standalone
    The script:
    #!/bin/bash
    # Wallpaper
    nitrogen --restore
    # Sound
    SOUND_THEME='ootw'
    jackd -rd alsa -Hs &
    amixer set Master 80%
    xset -b&
    # PATH fix
    PATH=${PATH}$(grep ^PATH /home/mouse/.bashrc | cut -d \} -f 2)
    export PATH
    # TZ
    TZ='GMT'
    export TZ
    # VST path
    VST_PATH='/home/mouse/.vst/'
    export VST_PATH
    # Dockbar
    avant-window-navigator &
    # Tray applets
    pnmixer&
    wicd-gtk -t&
    batti&
    # Once!
    #urxvt -tr -sh 10 -e tmux
    # Keys
    xbindkeys&
    # Beep!
    mplayer "/usr/share/sounds/${SOUND_THEME}/stereo/desktop-login.ogg"&
    # Compiz
    fusion-icon # NOTE: The script stops here, and picks up when I select 'Quit' in Fusion-Icon
    # Boop!
    mplayer "/usr/share/sounds/${SOUND_THEME}/stereo/desktop-logout.ogg" # After this, the script exits and returns me to LXDM
    3. You can set up wallpaper either through CCSM or Nitrogen, Feh, what-have-you. I assume you mean desktop icons when you say "use the desktop". For those you can use community/idesk.
    4. You need to set the GTK theme. Try community/lxappearance.

  • Set use of only certain Apps and Menus

    I'm a teacher with new eMac's for my design class. I want to set the eMac so only certain Apps will open and run (I know I can set things in System Prefs), but what I'm looking for is a way for the user to ONLY view certain Apps. Right now they can view and click on the App but it won't open.
    I want to limit their "wandering" around the computer.
    Any help is GREATLY appreciated.

    David,
    Have a look at this page:
    http://www.apple.com/macosx/features/family/
    Under Tiger, you can set your computer to limit the programs, etc. that a user may see and access. I use this feature at home for my children, and it works quite well. Unfortunately, this feature is not native to Panter and would require that you upgrade your eMacs to Tiger. Perhaps your school would pay for this. There may be other comercially available programs out there that will do the same.

  • Illustrator not recognizing some fonts and colors.

    My recently installed Illustrator is not recognizing certain fonts and colors which is producing problems in my designs.
    1. When I drag in a PDF to edit, the letters will appear as gibberish (random numbers, letters and signs) (the font was "arquitectura" which is installed on my OS X I Mac)
    2. When I try to change the color of a font using the eyedropper tool, it shows the proper color in the color box, but the font remains black.
    After googling it, these problems seem frequent back in 2009 but not so much today.  Im thinking it has something to do with this, which prompts when I open the application:
    "Your application install seems to be damaged, Please reinstall the application."

    sugarfactory,
    "Your application install seems to be damaged, Please reinstall the application."
    Obviously, you should. It is best to run the Cleaner Tool between uninstalling and reinstalling.

  • Font and type size automatically revert in Numbers

    No matter what font or type size I use in a spreadsheet, when I move to a new cell, the font and type revert to the default, Helvetica Neue 10 point. If I set a block of cells to a certain font and size, they work properly until i have to cut and paste something out of a cell, then that cell reverts back. No one seems to know why this happens. Any ideas on changing the defaults permanently?

    You can set the default for each table style and, if you want, save your changes as a template which you can use for new documents.
    What I think you are doing is setting the font size and type for a cell and expecting it to apply for all cells. It does not.
    If you want this to be a default style for all new documents, first open up a new blank template. Otherwise do this in your current document. Select the table then select all cells (cmd-A). Change the font and type. The entire table should change. That's all you have to do if you are concerned about this single table in this one document.
    If you want to have new tables start out with that same font and style, go to the lower part of the sidebar on the left where the table styles are. Find the one that looks like the one you started with. Click the disclosure triangle and choose "redefine style from table". From then on in this document any new tables created from that table style will have the font and style you specified. Do the same for the other table styles if you want to. If you want one of them to be the default table style, choose that in the sidebar also. If this is a new document and you save it as a template and you use that template for new documents, those documents will also have your new table style(s).

  • Fonts and Colors

    Ok in iChat I have a certain font and blue font color for my text. Unfortunattly a lot of my friends do not have Macs, so they don't use iChat. When I type a message in the typing box it starts out black. But when I send it I see blue, but my friends see the default text and black color. So then I tried going to the Text and Color editor thing. And each time I was going to send a message I changed the color to blue. When I did that, while I was typing I could see blue text instead of black. But when I sent it my friends could still only see black, but I still saw blue.
    So is it because they have windows that iChat can't convert the text and colors or something? If there is no way now, are they any high hopes that there will in the future?

    Hi,
    AS far as I can make out AIM displays the Text is Black and ascribes a Colour to the name of the person who sent the message. I don't think this colour even has anything to do with the iChat Bubble or Font Colour even if you change the colour of the text as you type (which you can also do).
    Proteus a Mac app can display messages like iChat can (in Coloured bubbles and coloured text).
    Unfortunately it seems that it is no longer available even if you do have a Mac.

    Hi,
    I am using your software: CS6 InDesign Suiteon a PC using a Windows 7 operating system.
    Due to eyesight issues, I need to have the menu bars of programs in easy-to-read font and picture size.  Specifically, the menu bar across the top (File, Edit, View, etc.), and the menu bar on the left side with the graphic depiction of options.
    In earlier versions of Windows (e.g. XP), whenever I changed the screen resolution on my computer to a lesser resolution in order to show the link icons on my desktop in a larger, more readable size, all the software programs, including yours, appeared on my screen with the menu bars in the larger font size that I needed.
    However, in Windows 7, this is not the case.  Even though I have selected the lowest resolution, making the icons on my desktop extremely large, I cannot read the options across the top menu bar of your program, nor the pull-down menu items that they contain.  I cannot see the graphic depictions of options on the left side of the screen. They are all too small.  How can I make your program increase the size?

    CS6 is not high-DPI compatible/ enabled and that can't be changed. If you cannot6 make it work with your operating system means, then short of joining Creative Cloud and using newer versions there is nothing you can do.

  • Just updated to 10.8.5 and certain fonts are showing up

    Just updated to 10.8.5 and certain fonts are showing up.  For example, when I go to my stocks widget, part of it is unreadable.  See screen shot.
    I've noticed it in a few other places too, but its not universal meaning I can still surf the web without any issues so far inside Firefox.  Any tips to fix this issue?

    Thank you.  I did this and got to this point where still not sure how to proceed.  Do I need to delete something??

  • Roboto font not available in certain applications and Openbox menu

    I have downloaded Roboto TTF font from here and saved it in ~/.fonts.
    After downloading it, I ran:
    $ fc-cache -vf
    After that, I changed the font in lxappearance and obconf and every single application I have tried so far uses it by default now except Openbox menu (window titles seem to work just fine) and Geany.
    What can I do to fix this?
    I really like the font and pretty much everything runs well except those two.
    Note: tried placing those files in /usr/share/fonts/local, but nothing changed.

  • Operating system Mac OS 10.6.8. Recently upgraded to CS6 Encore. There are no buttons and menus in Library at bottom right of screen, so cannot put a button on the menu in Flowchart

    How can I get buttons and menus in Library in the Encore 6 screen? There are none showing in my just upgraded Encore 6, when they were there in Encore CS5.

    Richard, the link you provided is correct, but it involves a two step process that first gives only a few templates, then requires another download that gives all the library.
    I think most users who ask the question just want the second step, which is all that is presented here:
    Encore Help | Download full library content/functional content
    When I first started recommended that option, I expected users to ask for the "other" templates, but in Encore, that includes "styles" (that do not appear to be used much) and flash export templates (that are also not used much). So I go straight for the full library that I know the users wants.
    The other oddity is for a user upgrading from CS5.5 (EN 5.1), and keeping 5.1 installed, the installer (your link) involves the bizarre step of DELETING the 5.1 library.
    For Premiere CC users looking to get PR templates/styles, they must use your link.

  • [SOLVED] Unable to see certain glyphs in bitmap fonts

    Could someone help me with the bitmap fonts?  I am using the uushi font for the BAR:  https://github.com/phallus/fonts
    Although I've installed it and am able to use it in my terminal (termite), and SE the glyphs in gbdfed.  I am unable to use the glyphs that are in the high 2xxx hex codes, such as the battery and the headphones icon.
    any ideas?   (also using infinality bundle, don't know if that affect things).
    I even ensured that my termite is using the font.  I can see some glyphs, but not all.
    Edit:  Turns out you have to do " echo -e \u2BFE" in the terminal and the copy and paste it.

    Works on Mac CS6, but I have 0067 for unicode ID, and you have 0073, might be a recoding between systems i do not understand.
    What happens if you copy from InDesign and paste to Illustrator. I did not find Opentype settings to affect this, but including in my screenshot incase that helps.
