[SOLVED] P67A-GD65 mainboard missing Intel RAID Rom after updating BIOS

I use 2 HDDs to build a RAID 0 array using Intel P67 RAID driver. I've just updated the BIOS to the 1.I version, and after that my computer can't boot up, showing the message "Missing Operating System". I booted into DOS and failed to read my hard disk, combining with that the Intel Matrix Storage Manager Option ROM didn't show up during the POST (which prompts me to press Ctrl-I to enter the RAID configuration before I updated the BIOS), I think it's the Intel RAID driver's problem. However, the Marvell RAID's prompt still shows, so the Marvell RAID should still work well. I encountered the same problem the last time I updated the BIOS, but I forgot how I got it well again... Please help. Thanks a lot!
I didn't noticed that my BIOS settings had been reset after I updated the BIOS, so I should manually changed the SATA mode to RAID. I was required to run a system recovery after I set the SATA mode back to RAID since the system failed to load, and Windows re-installed the USB3.0 driver after the first boot after the update (I don't know why this is). And the problem solved. Hope this is helpful to guys have similar problem as me.

Please post the full system specs.

  • P67A-GD65 mainboard incompatibility with Steel series XAI gaming mouse

    Hallo,
            As mentioned officially on SteelSeries web site http://faq.steelseries.com/questions/166/My+computer+gets+stuck+at+BIOS+stage+during+the+boot+for+a+few+minutes+when+the+Xai+is+connected. there's a problem with p67A-GD65 mainboard ( i don't know if other MSI P67A MB series have the same problem) and Steel-series XAI mouse about the pc gets stuck at BIOS stage during the boot for a few minutes when the Xai is connected. and personally i add that it's impossible in my p67a-gd65 (B3) to use this mouse for navigate in UEFI bios  because it's moves only laterally.
    I HOPE THAT MSI RELEASE VERY SOON A BIOS UPDATE ( lasted version 1.B have again this issue)  FOR P67A-GD65 (B3) ( maybe other P67 models?)  MAINBOARD THAT RESOLVE THIS VERY FASTIDIOUS PROBLEM.
    Thanks.

    Hello,
    next time you start a topic, please skip the CAPS.  CAPS are considered SCREAMING and that is rather impolite.  In addition to that, this is a user-to-user forum and not MSI Technical Support.  We do not make BIOS/UEFI Updates here and if you want to report anything that needs fixing, report it to Technical Support directly: http://support.msi.com/
    That said, please note that the latest UEFI/BIOS release is not E7681IMS.1B0 [=v1.11] but actually E7681IMS.1C9 [=v1.12b9].  Various mouse related fixes have already been implemented.  So, I suppose the best thing to do is probably to find out whether or not your problem has already been fixed:
    E7681IMS.1B0 ---> E7681IMS.1C5
    - Updating the latest USB module version 4.6.3_USB_08.10.10.
    - Fix the Achiva 27'' LCD QH270-IPSBS compatibility issue.
    - Fix AEXEA DDR3-1600MHz memory boot fail.
    - Don't clear password when load defaults in BIOS Setup.
    - Fix mouse click will hang 0Dh in some page when entering setup with user password.
    - Fix the GT ratio show error issue when OC genie enable;
    - Fix the Package C State limit item No Limit option value.
    - When unplug any USB mouse and plug again then system will hang in UEFI bios
    - When using the USB mouse and move and play around for 1 minute then the mouse cursor disappear.
    - You will see 2 cursor under overclocking page using the below mouse:
    ---> Steelseries KINZU
    ---> Razer Copperhead RZ01-050100
    ---> Razer Copperhead RZ01-050200
    ---> RAZER DeathAdder RZ01-0015, Infrared Gaming Mouse
    ---> ROCCAT KONE ROC-11-200
    - Fix USB Keyboard can't use under dos.
    - Fine tune 2133Mhz memory stabilization.
    - Fix the issue that using AEXEA DDR3-1600MHz 4GB 1.65V will have normal boot up but when running Memtest Deluxe 3.8, display hangs at "running fast write tests¡".
    - Fix Post Screen show CPU speed 100x63=6300 MHz when "Adjust CPU Ratio in OS" is Enable.
    If I was you, I would give E7681IMS.1C5 a try first and see what it does to your problem: https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=144655.msg1105581#msg1105581

  • Possible to update Z77A GD65 bios with latest intel raid rom?

    Try this one. It's based on the e7751ims.a43 with the following updated components:
    1. intel me firmware 8.0.10.1464 (stock: 8.0.3.1427)
    2. intel raid orom 11.1.0.1413 (stock: 11.0.0.1339)
    3. sandy bridge microcode 0x28 (stock: 0x25)
    4. ivy birdge microcode 0x12 (stock: 0x10)
    I've NOT tested it because I don't have z77 motherboard but it should work fine. However I'll not be held responsible about any direct or indirect damages to (but not limited to) your board resulting from flashing and/or using this bios. USE IT AT YOUR OWN RISK!

  • P67A-GD65 (b2) stuck in boot loop after bad flash

    Hello,
    My mainboard is stuck, I can't open bios setup, (even tho it appears in f11 menu), and it won't boot on any device.
    I removed every hard drive and DVD, and tried to boot on DOS with a usb, but it won't even boot DOS, and no usb device appears in f11 menu (I tried every usb ports)
    And I can't enter bios setup (it just reboots)
    Initially I was trying to update my bios because some features I wanted were not in my old version. But I think Avast blocked the update program (E7681v43.exe opened in an usb) and when I restarted the bios flash failed, and my PC entered a boot loop. When I press f11, it's a new interface so some things in the bios updated.
    The only message I get when I put the E7681v43.exe and E7681IMS.430, or the files for v1j (oldest version before ivy bridge support) on a fat32 usb stick (tried formatted, and formated with Rufus), a red message appears saying "bios me updated ... file not found."
    Same thing if I try the MSIHQ flash utility, it doesn't work as my PC won't boot on the usb.
    I think my motherboard is bricked and the only solution is to send it to msi to get a working bios.
    My motherboard p67a gd65 (b2) (the one with bad sata 2 ports) and it doesn't appear in the product name list anymore to register it on msi...
    It was bought the on the 19th of January 2011, I hope I can still ask for msi for help!
    I'm looking forward to your opinions on my issue, and sorry for the long text.

    Quote from: Svet on 24-September-13, 17:50:38
    older b2 cannot be updated to the .4xx
    you have to send the mobo to be replaced with newer revision
    Thanks! do you know where can I ask for a replacement?
    I can't register it on msi, and when I ask a question and I give the serial number it just abords...
    I already send an email to msi France (I live in Belgium). But email are too slow usually.
    and what about the secondary bios, no way to repair primary bios with it?

    XuYimin, can you please give more info on what you mean by "update (alsa)"? There is no "alsa" package in Arch as alsa & it's modules are part of the (linux) kernel.
    As you have already gone into alsamixer to ensure the appropriate channels are unmuted & set at the desired level, have you also gone into your KDE systems settings -> Multimedia -> Audio and Video Settings & rechecked your settings?
    sorry,it's really misleading in my words.what i want to say is 'no sound after update, and the sound system is alsa.'
    i'm sure the approiate channels are unmuted. in the Video Setting, I tested all sound cards in the list, But i can't hear sound.

    This particular line caught my attention: " wlan0: de-authenticating from 00:1c:10:57:47:17 by local choice (reason=3)". So I searched for it (without the MAC address) on the internet and found several solutions for it, involving wpa_supplicant, dhcpcd, IPv6 (disable it on /etc/sysctl.d/40-ipv6.conf) and card power management (operation not supported, don't have option on BIOS), but none of them worked for me.

    I've been connecting through wire since then and it's extremely uncomfortable being planted in one place.

    Then. please post the output of lspci -nn and of ip link
    Then, take a look at the output of sudo iw wlan0 scan
    and see if you can see your AP.  Also, verify that your wireless is called wlan0 by checking the ouput of ip link

  • Recovery Partition Missing and Bluetooth Issues After Update

    After upgrading to 10.9.3 my recovery partition is gone and my bluetooth will pair with a new device, connect, and then disconnect.  After that I am not able to reconnect the new bluetooth device.  I can see it, but can't connect to it.  I have tried multiple bluetooth devices, and they all do the same thing.  I am really baffled about the missing recovery partition.  Any ideas?

    I still don't know what happened to my test Aperture Library after the update to 3.4...Not only were my previews lost, but so were the original images!  Needless to say, I haven't bothered to update the main library on the Mac Pro because I don't want to deal with this level of uncertainty (even with backups in place).

  • How do I fix missing and corrupted images after update to Mountain Lion 10.8.2 and Aperture 3.4?

    Last night I tried to update to Aperture 3.4 on my MacBook Pro (late 2007 / 3,1 model) and received a message that I needed to install Mountain Lion 10.8.2 first.  However, there was no update in my App Store account for 10.8.2.  The update for 10.8.2 appeared above the Aperture 3.4 update after I restarted the laptop and rechecked for updates.  I proceeded to update Mountain Lion and then Aperture.  Everything seemed to be working fine so I opened Aperture 3.4 and watched it update the database without any issues...
    Upon examining the small library (of approximately 1200 images totaling about 8 GB) that I leave on this MacBook Pro specifically for testing Aperture updates, I observed the following:
    I know anything can happen with stored images, so I try to create redundancy by duplicating important photos on import to an external device, running Time Machine backups and keeping memory cards stored away until I am comfortable with the integrity of the first 2 methods.  I am not really worried about this specific Aperture Library on this laptop because it has become my "laboratory" for testing new updates before we apply them to our other computers.
    In general, I try not to be too early of an adopter when it comes to software and updates--even though I have had remarkably few problems with Apple updates in the past.  However, my success rate with Apple's products and "feature curiosity" occasionally leads me to update early!  It is my curiosity that, again, has me wondering:  What went wrong and how can I fix this in case it happens to something important in the future?

  • [Solved] Alt-Tab window switching no longer working after update (JWM)

    The next issue I am trying to straighten out after a recent, long-overdue pacman -Syu, is the loss of window-switching functionality using the alt-tab key combination. This is under the JWM window manager, by the way. The alt key seems to work as expected when, for example, firefox has focus: if I hit alt left arrow, the browser goes back to the preceding page. But if I hit alt and tab together, say, in the browser or when a terminal has focus, it seems to be read as though I were pressing only the tab key. So, with two windows maximized on the desktop, the alt-tab combination does not toggle between them. If the terminal has focus I can see the cursor jumping over a tab space each time I press the key combination.
    Can anyone offers pointers on how I might resolve or begin diagnosing this issue? I should mention that another change I did in the wake of the update was to make the system log me in and start the GUI each time I boot the machine (as discussed at https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/St … h_profile). I'm not sure why that would have any effect but I thought I should mention it. I think this is just a pretty standard pc105 keyboard by the way.
    Input will be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    James

    Thank you for your input, anonymous_user. I decided, on reading it, to compare my .jwmrc with the /etc/system.jwmrc file. I noted that, in my .jwmrc, the keybindings section was empty, while that section in the /etc/system.jwmrc had several entries--and even one that seemed to refer to the alt-tab key combination. So I copied that section into my .jwmrc, restarted JWM, and the key combination now seems to be working as it should. Granted, it's a bit strange in that it doesn't open some kind of dialog box with the names of open windows, showing you in list form the windows you're scrolling through. But it does take you to other open windows when, after you've hit the tab key one or more times, you release the alt key. So the issue is resolved and was pretty simple.

  • Always use the default account when composing new messages box missing in Outlook 2010 after updating the product key.

    I have 2 accounts in outlook 2010. 1 is for me and the other I have delegate access to. When I am in the delegates email and want to reply it automatically uses the account the email is in. So if I am in my email, the from is me but if I am in the delegates
    email and hit reply the from is them. Now this is not working and I can't figure out how to get it to work. The only thing that changes is that office asked me to activate recently, which is weird since I have had this same computer with the same version of
    office for almost a year now. I did a ton of searching and came across an option on the internet: "Always use the deafult account when composing new messages" but this option is not there on my computer. I checked another computer I have with Office
    2010 also and the option is available so it must be something to do with the office activation because I haven't done it on this computer yet. PLEASE HELP!!!

    Seems this is a hot issue recently, I've post a reply to another thread with the similar topic, please reference that:

  • [SOLVED] Arch will not boot all the way after update

    Hey all,
    I feel really stupid about this one, but I really need some help.
    Today I updated my system and eventually during that session I decided to turn off the computer using "shutdown -h 0". This resulted in an error. I tried simply "reboot", but got the same message. I stupidly did not write down the message and then even more stupidly just held down the power button to turn the computer off thinking that I could boot back in later, get the same message, and deal with it then.
    However, when I booted up, I was confronted with a screen telling me that "/dev/sda3" was recovering, the orphaned sectors, and the fact that sda3 is clean. All of it seemed to be expected after an improper shutdown, but it won't boot any further. I tried turning it off and on again a couple times, but it is still stuck on that screen. It doesn't describe the orphans anymore, but it still says it is recovering the journal.
    I'm not sure what to do. Any help would be appreciated. I did look for posts concerning the recent update and found this: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?pid=1370237, but I don't know if I have the same problem.

    Thank you for the reply.
    After waiting on that screen for at least 20 minutes, It started displaying systemd[1] errors. If it would be helpful I could type them all out, but they are all just Dependency or Time out fails.
    After a while it displayed a welcome to emergency mode greeting and after a couple minutes finally let me give the root password. I straight out tried "journalctl -xb" which responded with:
    journalctl: error while loading shared libraries: libcrypt.so.20: cannot open shared object file: No such file of directory
    Periodically I am now getting this error:
    systemd[1]: Failed to start Trigger Flushing of Journal to Persistent Storage.
