[Solved] qtconfig doesn't remember its settings

I want to adjust the fonts used by Qt4 applications -- when I fire up qtconfig (/usr/bin/qtconfig) I can make the changes and they apply to qtconfig's window but not to other apps' windows.  The next time I open qtconfig it's back to its previous settings.  This isn't an issue with Qt3's config (/opt/qt/bin/qtconfig) and my Qt3 apps look the way I want them.
It looks like there must be something preventing qtconfig to write the new configuration to some file -- but I haven't got an idea what file this should be and where and what could prevent it.  Any ideas on where I should start looking are welcome.
EDIT: rm ~/.config/Trolltech.conf and re-configuring Qt via qtconfig did the job.

None of those two methods worked for me.
In my case there is symbol font set in the qt and I can't use qt apps, because I dont see any font, only symbols.
No sudo or deleting helped, I really need forexample skype.
How to fix it ?
//EDIT:
[Partial Fix]
Other than gtk theme needs to be used. If you have symbol fonts as me. then it is the first rolling menu, and choose first, then go to second tab and change first rolling menu(it is fonts). Then click exit up right and one of the three appeared button says yes, save configuration.
In this example, there is a font change.
But theme change needs to be done first.

  • Why wont my xfce4-panel remember its settings?

I'm using xfce4-panel in Compiz Standalone, so there is no xfce-session manager or anything.
I put the clock plugin on it and changed the display to digital, but it just wont remember its settings when I close and reopen it.

If you are exiting the panel via ending your Compiz/X session, then Xfce Panel will not save its settings because Compiz does not gracefully end its process before it terminates and the panel crashes.
You will need to exit the panel from its Exit menu in order for Xfce Panel to save its settings, then re-launch it.

  • [Solved] Evince Doesn't Remember Previous Session

    Hi,
I recently did a complete reinstall and noticed when I open a pdf file and reopen it later, it fails to remember the page I'm on and other settings such as maximized, % zoom, etc.  Before the re installation it would always remember my previous settings, but now it opens like it has just been freshly installed every time: minimized and fit screen width...
    Any suggestions ?

  • Will my X-Fi remember its settings after Windows reinsta

    Hello,
I have a Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeMusic and have used the Creative Audio Console to configure the card accordingly for my speakers (Logitech Z-2300). If I reinstall Windows XP, will the sound card remember it's settings when I reinstall the drivers or am I going to have to fiddle around with the settings again?
    Thanks in advance

I format frequently so not having this saved is going to be a real pain in the ***.
You don't need to wonder anything if you try make a copy of that PCI_BUSXXXX-X-XXXXXXXX-XXXX.dat file mentioned and try as instructed ?
If you don't find that file, then AC does not save it's settings into that location but maybe into registry --> just search the registry after AC settings and if founs, export that registry data to a .reg file --> you can then later restore that data by double_clicking the .reg file you saved.

Even when the remember password box is checked I have to re-enter the ftp username and password for some websites. This wasn't a problem in previous versions.

For example, when I start iTunes, Ping, Podcast, Movies and other sources that I've selected NOT to show in the left hand margin show every time I open iTunes. • Safari doesn't remember print settings

    hi all
i'm using safari 1.3.2 under panther, & i want to print a bunch of web pages with a layout of 2 pages of text per printed page. this works fine when i use the layout feature in the print dialog box, but the problem is that i have to do this every time. how can i get safari to remember my previous print settings? or is this possible?
thanks in advance for any suggestions/comments!
    brian

    Hi Brian,
I'm not on my Mac at the moment, but if memory serves, I believe after making the necessary customisation with regards to layout, paper handling, you can click on the 'presets' field and save your particular scheme for use in the future. I'm not sure if you can specify a user-created scheme as default but I'd imagine it's possible as well.
I hope Tiger and Panther are similar at least in that respect. All the best!

  • Export book to PDF doesn't remember previous settings - CS5

I've just noted a somewhat annoying "bug" in the book export.  When I export book to PDF--which I do a lot--I have to rename the file and reselect the type of PDF I'm exporting every time. It should remember the last settings I used.I believe in the past that it did.
I also really hate that it always defaults to the interactive PDF--which I will probably never use. Half the time I forget to check that setting, rename the file, click OK, and then have to cancel and go through all the steps again because I forgot that the stupid thing can't remember that I want a Print PDF.  I have gone through this annoying misbehavior several times in just the last few minutes. Add that up over all the hours that I work on books and do that export and we're talking about a huge time waster. Am I missing a way to set a defaullt here?

The book export or the regular export?  Mine definitely always goes back to interactive PDF.  Even after I've saved a print PDF several times.  It's really annoying.

  • Firfox runs the update check when opening everytime and doesn't remember previous settings; any reason?

When opening Firefox 5 in W7 enterprise (x64) it checks compatibility for add-ons and extensions, shows the welcome to FF5 screen and the welcome to Foxtab screen. I then find that all of the permissions I set in No-Script are gone. This only happens if I close all the windows but it does happen every time. I've disabled foxtab but it still does the check and new welcome.

Start with your finger at the bottom of the screen (about even with the home button) and swipe in an upward motion.  There should be a row of icons at the top of a grey field.  if the quarter-moon icon is bright white, tap it.  If it was (and still is) dark, take the iPhone in to be evaluated by a qualified technician.

  • [SOLVED] kgpg doesn't save settings

    Hi,
I've a problem with kgpg: It just doesn't save my settings. Everything that I change (e.g. setting a default key or a key which should always be used for encryption) gets lost when I restart kgpg.
If I start kgpg in a terminal and change something I get the following message:
    kgpg(14795)/kdecore (KConfigSkeleton) KCoreConfigSkeleton::writeConfig:
That's it. I just found one config file in
    ~/.kde4/share/config/kgpgrc
And I'm the owner of this file and have full read and write access to it.
Does anybody else have this problem or knows how to fix it?

    So small update:
I signed a bug report https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=275644 and the KDE team could help me, in fact the file "~/.gnupg/gpg.conf" did not exist here on this machine, I created a blank one and now kgpg can use it to write the config to it and everything works fine.
