[Solved] Quick launch buttons not working

So I bought the GT60 2OC 3k IPS edition around 3 months ago and it's been working more or less perfectly. However today I haven't been able to use any of the quick launch buttons, they don't even light up when clicked on. I tried reinstalling SCM multiple times but nothing changed. Is there any easy fix solution to this problem?

I just read about the EC reset and tried it out. It worked! Sorry for the needless thread, although I'd still like to thank the community and moderators of these forums that provide some useful information

Dv7-1130us - Quick Launch buttons not working - though they light up correctly

I'm trying to enable wifi, though the quick launch buttons are no longer working. They used to work, though I've had my laptop repaired at the service center (to replace the keyboard), and I also immediately upgraded to windows 7 once my laptop was returned.
I've done a hard reset, upgraded the bios, and upgraded the quick launch button drivers, though nothing is working. When windows boots, the wifi image on the quick launch bar transitions correctly as it has always done (blue to orange - since I had I usually had it disabled before I sent it in for repair and upgraded).
Is there a way I can enable the wifi card without having to use the quick launch buttons? The wifi card has always functioned correctly when it was enabled, and it's working properly according to the device manager. I just need to either find a way to enable it without using the quick action bar, or get the quick action bar working.
Any suggestions? I'd rather not send it back in for repair, it's a lengthy process.

Uninstall the current HP Wireless Asistant and reboot.

Hi,
I recently had to replace my hard disk and reinstall windows 7 (32bit) from scratch. I have loaded HP Quick launch driver V6.50.12.1 (2009-12-09, latetest on website) but have the following issues:
Media Quick Launch button does nothing (despite media programs been installed)
Volume slider button does not provide the previous clicking and volume bar on the screen when being used. (I have checked that the sound is enabled in the Bios).
I have uninstalled the Driver and reinstalled it several times, but it does not fix the issue.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi,
QuickPlay will not work under Windows 7 ( it was the option for Vista ) and was replaced by the MediaSmart software option.
If the media button you refer to has a Q rather than an M, there is an alteration you can make to the registry that will allow you to launch SmartMenu from this button.
The key is located at:
Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Hewlett-Packard\HP Quick Launch Buttons
Modify the path for:
QAction
To:
C:\Program Files\Hewlett-Packard\HP MediaSmart\SmartMenu.exe

Quick Launch buttons not working on Window 8.1

I have installed window 8.1 but quick launch buttons, which used to work with combination of FN key, for example fn+F3 key for brightness, fn+F8 for volume, fn+F6 key to lock the computer etc are not working. What is the solution?

I have available a pretty extensive list and I cannot find a Quick Launch Driver for Windows 8.1. Might be one; I don't see it.
I use a completely different arrangement of Custom Toolbars from what most people use so I am not at all sure what constitutes a Quick Launch.

Quick Launch Buttons not working on dv7-3085dx

Hello HP world.
I am having a problem that I cant fix it myself and it is driving me crazy.
I am very techy and usually always find a solution to any problem but this one got both of my feet locked.
My Quick Launch Buttons on my DV7-3085dx Running Win7 64-bit.
Are not working. They were working fine since forever until 2 weeks ago I noticed the mute and wireless buttons remained red non stop? and they were not functionable. Almost as if they lost connection to the notebook.
This is what i have tried so far:
- Hard reset (after i did this the red mute button and wireless went off, now only volume and media controls are on, still useless)
- Updating the QuickLaunch Buttons Driver
- Updating the BIOS
- Reinstalling MediaSmart
- New Chipset Driver
- Installing latest IDT driver
- probably other drivers and such which i cant remember but its been over a week that i have been reading online and it came down to this.
I surrender!
Please help me.

If they're not working after performing the System Recovery then it's a hardware problem. Could a loose or damaged cable or circuit board.

Quick Launch buttons not fully fuctional

I have a Pavillion laptop 6930 and I just upgraded to WIndows 7 ultimate 64. the quick launch buttons are not working properly. I installed some drivers I thought would make them work fully but was unsuccessful. The problems are that when I click the Mute quick launch button is that it does not turn orange any more. In vista the button would turn orange but not in 7. Even though it still mutes my computer I would like it to turn orange like it use to. The on screen Displays of the volume slider also does not show up. The quick launch button lowers and raises the volume but doesn't show on screen display of it. Back in Vista it had a green bar that would show up in the bottom right and move according to your finger on the quick launch button. Any solutions?

Try a Hard Reset as follows.
Shut down the notebook, unplug the AC Adapter and then remove the battery. Hold down the Power button for a full minute. Re-insert the battery, plug in the AC Adapter and start the notebook.

DV7-1279WM microphone and quick launch buttons stopped working

For some reason my quick launch buttons and microphone have stopped working on my DV7 laptop. I know that I recently used the microphone on a Skype call, but believe since that time that Vista SP2 was installed. I am not sure when the quick launch buttons were not working, but have just literally (talking less than a week ago) got the laptop back from HP for a warranty issue with the display. A strange thing I noticed is that if i look under the settings in Skype, the microphone will record a level for a split second, but then go back to nothing again (someone I was trying to talk to said they could hear me for a second).
I thought it might be the same problems as in the 35 page thread on here, but I have sound, its only the microphone and quick launch buttons that are not working. So far I have rolled back, installed and updated sound drivers, BIOS and Quick Launch software, but no luck.
Any suggestions? Thanks.

Sometimes electrical components needs to have all power sources removed and reintroduced to work properly. Try performing a hard reset first, if it doesn't work then we'll move to the next step.
To Perform A Hard Reset
Shut down the computer by going to the Start menu and selecting shut down. (If you have no display, hold the power button down for 5 seconds)
Disconnect the AC Adapter from the notebook.
Remove the battery from the bottom of the notebook. There will be a switch/button to eject the battery.
Wait at least 1 minute with all power sources disconnected.
Re-insert the battery and reconnect the AC Adapter and then attempt to power on the notebook.

Dv6-1240us quick launch buttons stopped working

Hi,
I have dv6-1240us notebook pc. After installing some of the updates quick lauch buttons stopped working on my notebook. Nothing happens when I touch the volume control/mute button.
Does anyone has idea how to resolve this problem.

Same thing with my dv6, just the audio button.. wireless is ok. chatted with HP they said hard-reset it, update the driver, update bios. nothing worked.

[Solved] Wacom pen buttons not working

Hi, this is probably simple to fix, but I don't understand everything well enough to get it set up. I have a Fujitsu T5010 with internal Wacom tablet. The Wacom drivers are installed. I can use the pen to move the pointer, and click. However, the buttons on the side of the pen do not work. Also, the eraser end of the pen seems to register as an ordinary single click, rather than a separate input.

Quick Launch Panel Not Working on GT70 2PC

I have had the notebook for a week. The quick launch panel worked out of the box but after the machine ran through all of its updates it has not worked since.
I read the older posts on this problem related to updating BIOS and EC as wall as the restart following pulling the battery out to initiate a reflash of the EC but have not had any success. I have ran the latest version of MSI Live Update 6 and installed all the recommended updates. Here is the latest state of the notebook.

EC 1763EMS1.716
SCM 13.014.06109
Steel Series Engine driver 3.0.3.8

The EC version difference between my sample and your laptop is on the controller of the quick launch panel. There seems two types of controllers used in the laptop. So maybe the Live Update you installed mistakenly overwrite your original EC from 516 to 716 and made you unable to use the quick launch panel.
All you need to do now is to manually flash the 516 version of EC.
As shown in the picture, there're two versions:
516: Execute the Autoflash.exe in the "352x" folder. (Need to run as Administrator too.)
716: Execute the Autoflash.exe in the "353x" folder. (Need to run as Administrator too.)
Since you are using 716 now and the quick launch panel didn't work, it probably works after you flash the 516.
You can execute the Autoflash in the "352x" folder to try it.

Z3 Camera quick shot button not working

Hi. I´m trying to use quick shot button with my Z3. Bought 2 days ago. I can feel to different "clicks" and on the first click it focusec pic but with the second it does nothing. It doesn´t open camera software when it is turned of. I have quick laund enabled so that ain´t the problem. Starting to feel that have to go to repair shop with this

SOLVED!--Media Buttons not working and TVAP will NOT uninstall

I have a A660D-STNX2 running WIN 7 sp 1.
The media buttons have stopped working and all threads concerning this have one reinstalling TVAP. Trying that has not changed functionality. I believe it is because I cannot uninstall TVAP. Uninstall gives a an immediate error of RegDBGetItem failed (1) . Which I think means the registry does not contain the item to be removed.
Any ideas will be appreciated.
UPDATE!!
Was able to restore backup of registry, then could uninstall TVAP. Installed updated TVAP (from web site) and buttons were assigned wrong, went back to orginal TVAP from Toshiba Application Installer ({start}-{my toshiba}-{tai})
All is well now.

As you can see from the image above, I have a quick search defined for 'am' which is set as a 'keyword' for an Amazon.com search. When I type the keyword followed by a search term it it displays an error page with a path to some resource in a .jar file.
Note the save URL does not include a %s. It used the previously document behavior of having any text that followed the keyword appended to the keyword URL.
When I add the %s to the end of the saved quick search URL, the quick search works correctly. This change confused me for a while until I dug into it and now I need to check and update all of my quick searches. :-(

When you enable anonymous access in SharePoint, did you want the anonymous user have the permission
to access the site content such as library or just need them to be capable to search? You may need to check your configurations according to the document below based on your requirement.

When you enable search for anonymous user for the site collection, is it a team site or publishing
site? By default team sites are designed for intranet site so search on Team Site with default value will be prompted for
credentials because “OSSSearchResults.aspx” page is configued to publish results based on “LayoutsPageBaseClass(Microsoft.SharePoint.WebControls)” class. The LayoutsPageBase Class Represents an application page (sometimes
called a "_layouts" page). If you want to do that in team site, you need to remove the “LayoutsPageBase Class(Microsoft.SharePoint.WebControls)” from “OSSSearchResults.aspx” page, which is not a recommended way.
Publising Sites are desinged for internet site so “Search/Results.aspx”
is configured in a way where it can deliver search results for
anonymous users. If in your scenario it’s for publishing site, you need to ensure that the content which should appear in the search result is visible for anonymous user. (Follow the “Enable anonymous access for individual lists”
part in the link above)
You can also create a search center to see if the user can get search result there. Regarding the
second issue, you need to check the crawl logs and ULS logs to find the clue.
