[Solved] Removing multiple entries from grub

Hi
There are many entries in my arch's grub boot loader:
Arch Linux pkg-linux kernel
*Arch Linux pkg-linux kernel (fallback initramfs)
Arch Linux
Advanced options for Arch Linux
Linux Mint 15
Advanaced options for Linux Mint 15
Microsoft Windows 7 Professional
But I also want to keep following three entries:
Arch Linux
Linux Mint 15
Microsoft Windows 7 Professional
How can I remove remaining entries from grub menu?

Grub2 menu entries are created by a set of scripts in /etc/grub.d
Your first 2 entries are standard for arch and are generated by the 10_archlinux script. The 10_archlinux script is distributed by arch. It exists because the standard 10_linux script does not always create reliable menu entries for arch.
Your other linux entries are generated by the 10_linux script which is distributed by grub upstream.
Your windows entry is generated by the os-prober script. That can just be left alone.
To sort out the redundant linux entries you could try disabling either of the linux scripts and regenerating the menu.
Alternatively, you could disable both linux scripts and define your menu entries manually in the 40_custom script. The syntax for custom menu entries is similar to that of grub legacy. See the grub wiki article for info.

i am trying to delete multiple entries from table while keeping some data.
for example I have the following table

I want to keep the rows where the item is 777 and 888 for plant US101 and keep delete the rest data
I wrote the following code
Delete source_package where Plant = 'US101' and Item NE '777' or '888'.
but all the rows get deleted.
I tried deleting single row and it worked.
Delete source_package where Plant = 'US101' and Item NE '777' .
How can I delete multiple rows.

How to remove duplicate entries from Settings General iTunes Wi-Fi Sync?

On my iPhone under Settings > General > iTunes Wi-Fi Sync there is a duplicate entry for my Mac. One is active, the other one shows options greyed out, as if it can't see the Mac on the network (although it's the same name). Is there a way to manually remove that entry from the iPhone?
I am running iOS 7.0.4, and OS X 10.9.1, iTunes 11.1.3 on the Mac.

iPhone 3G doesn't support Wi-Fi sync or IOS 5.1.1. You have to connect to iTunes using the dock connector to sync.
Unless you have a iPhone 3GS or jailbroken.

Hi everyone,
I copy a lot of text from websites into Pages documents, and I'm looking for a way to remove multiple hyperlinks from a slab of text all at once without having to remove each hyperlink individually? This would save me a lot of time!
Not sure if Pages actually has this feature - if not then it would be a good feature request. It would be similar to MS Word's function to clear a slab of text of all formatting (including hyperlinks).
Any tips would be much appreciated!

Select all the text concerned. Then:
This will stop them being live links but they will probably be blue and underlined. Click the underline button twice, and use the colour selector to turn them black.

HOWTO remove an entry from the node list...

Hi all,
does anybody know, howto remove an entry from the node list TAB ?
I recentyl updated my system to 11.5.10.2 including enabling autoconfig.
Now, concurrent processes won't start, because of two entries in the node list tab (yes, it's a single node installation!). There are two entries, one with the IP-address and one with the hostname.
Can somebody tell me howto remove this obsolete entry?

The Profile Manager is for all versions of Firefox you have installed - every Profile that is listed in the '''profiles.ini''' file will appear there. The location of the Profile folders has no effect on what the Profile Manager dialog window shows. There is no way to set it up relative to one program installation.

Cannot remove autocomplete entry from address bar; have already cleared history, and entry is not in the drop-down menu of the address bar either.

I am having problems removing an autocomplete entry from my address bar; I have tried clearing my history, so it's no longer in that, and I do not have it bookmarked either, so it's not getting the URL from that location either. The autocomplete entry isn't even showing up in the drop down menu, so I can't even scroll through that to delete it.
Basically, I want to be able to type "st" and go to "store.steampowered.com"; however, despite numerous times of typing in "st" and then going down into the drop-down menu to choose "store.steampowered.com", the bar continues to autocomplete "steamtrades.com", which is exceptionally annoying because I do not have that website bookmarked, or in my history, yet it continues to autocomplete to that address, which I do not want it to autocomplete to, and cannot figure out how to remove because I've already cleared my history multiple times, do not have it bookmarked, and it is not showing up in the drop down of the address bar for me to go down and force delete it.

Did you try to remove some letters from steamtrades.com to see if that bring this entry up in the drop-down list?
If it is not in the history then it might be present with a typed=1 flag indicating that you have typed or pasted it in the location bar.
You can use the SQLite Manager extension in Firefox to inspect the places.sqlite file to see if this entry comes up in the moz_places table.

have done duplicate entry by mistake on similar quarter_date

How do you determine which one out of duplicate to be kept? As per output it doesnt follow any pattern
so it may be this

Run the select above to see records to be removed and once happy uncomment the delete, comment the select * and run the query to do the delete
If it doesnt give expected records, explain on what basis you want to identify records to be deleted

i have 53tables which are having duplicate entries and names of all 53 tables r listed in top_t table ?
can any1 provide me solution to show and if possible ask for remove of those duplicates entries from each table if required ?
daily i am removing duplicates manually ....its too tedious now !

Well, I suppose if the duplication is such that
SELECT DISTINCT * FROM tablename;gives you the required result, then you could have a procedure that made a copy of the table, deleted/truncated the original, then inserted the distinct values back into it.
In 10g you could even use flashback to avoid the temp copy - but it also means you can't use TRUNCATE so whether it's any more efficient I'm not sure. But just for fun and since it's urgent:

Removing multiple entries with minimal overhead

What is the best way to remove a set of entries from an optimistic cache with minimal messaging overhead? Right now, I'm calling myCache.keySet().removeAll(setOfKeys). Does tcmp coalesce all these removals into one messaging sequence, or are all of the keys processed separately? Is there a more efficient way for me to do bulk removal in an optimistic cache? Thanks.

     Calling myCache.keySet().removeAll(setOfKeys) is the most optimal way indeed.
     At the moment the OptimisticCache service does not "bundle" the removals into one message, though all the messages are asynchronous (meaning that the client thread will not wait for the remove confirmations).

Hi Florin,
If you are using DropDownByKey, just setting the current selection to some key value will remove the default blank entry.
wdContext.current<node name>Element().set<attribute>(<key value of the selected data>);
This will set the value corresponding to this key as the currently selected one in the dropdown and along with this, the default entry will also disappear

CRS isused
NO vendor clusterware
I've 4 instances running on 10.2.0.3.0.. Creating a new DB on the same ORACLE_HOME using dbca. Hit into a bug 5886151 and aborted the install..
NOW, there were some entries in ocrdump.. so used srvctl ro remove the database from CRS... OCTDUMPFILE is godd now..
However., then I do crs_stat. I do see the below entries..
NAME=ora.<<DBNAME>>.db
TYPE=application
TARGET=OFFLINE
STATE=OFFLINE
How to remove thsi entry???

There are "cap" files that contain the information on the resources in crs they are usually located in $CRS_HOME/crs/profile or $CRS_HOME/crs/public I have not tried this but I believe you can edit, remove, etc these files and then run the crs_register command pointing to the directory where the "cap" files are.
If I were you I would probably contact Oracle support before doing this though. Unless this cluster is not being used currently and you can risk this type of operation on your own.
