  • Scroll bar buttons/arrows

Scroll bar buttons (aka arrows) allow for much more precise scrolling than using fingers on a trackpad, dragging the scroll bar, or pressing the arrow keys. These methods are all too jerky, and it's too difficult to scroll to a particular line in a large document. I cannot possibly overstate my frustration resulting from elimination of the buttons. I'm pleading with Apple to restore them. Why not at least make them an option?
Is there some hidden option to get them back or some alternative I'm not aware of?

  • Scroll Bar on Itunes disappeared!

On some pages in Itunes, the bottom scroll bar that lets you scroll sideways disappears. I've always worked around it, but I just got a new Ipod Touch and I need to scroll to the right to be able to "Agree" to the Software Licensing Terms before I can use it. I've tried resizing the window in every way and using the scroll wheel on my mouse, but I can't get over to the button.

  • Scroll bar, buttons and a Custom Component - help

Thanks to another forum I was able to create a scroll panel and add a scroll bar to it.  That works fine.  Inside the scroll panel I have thumbnails of the product that I'm highlighting.  I want to be able to click on the thumbnail and have a full size photo of the product come up in the window next to the scroll panel.  I created a custom component that has a stage showing each full size product individually.  This worked fine when I simply had buttons and no scroll bar.  I could convert the thumbnail to a button and then add interaction so that it would go to the proper state of the custom component.  Where I'm having problems is now that I've imbedded the buttons in a scroll panel I'm no longer given the custom component as an option to pick from.  I can add interaction, but it only gives me the option of picking one of the pages, and not a component.
I've attached a screen grab to help show what I'm describing.
    Any ideas?
    Doug

Doug, thanks for asking this question.
    Hi ADAM...
It seems that a lot of us are asking the same question: Scrollbar Navigation-Make Actionable
(I created a low-fidelity proof-of-concept to test—using a datalist as you suggested. See link in my posting).
I have reviewed the video you refer to here, but you example still does not allow for individual items in the datalist (scrollbar) to be assigned individual actionable events.
Can you expain your thinking in Option 1, as a workaround? Do you have any other suggestions?
    BOTTOM LINE
We are all looking to do the same thing... something we are going to see A LOT MORE of after Uncle Steve's TABLET presentation next week:
A scrolling menu, with selected items in the menu causing "navigation" to a certain point in a scroll panel. (imitating the flick or slide effect of iPhone).
Suggestion: Can you add a field to thedatalist so that when the "repeated item" (in edit mode) is configuredto do an action (i.e., On-Click, Transition to State), we can then assign the state  you'd like for each item in thetable itself?
Now the issue is making it change the "State" within another component (i.e. scrolling panel). Can that be done?
    Thanks,
    - Rick

  • Multi-image (300+) horizontal scroll bar buttons

I am new to DreamWeaver, and need some guidence: I need to
create 300+ square image buttons in a horizontal scroll bar, but
haven't been able to find how to yet. Can someone direct me to
where I may find out how to create this?

So what are you having trouble with exactly -- Making 300 +
    images with
your image editing software or making a horizontal scroll bar
    in DW?
Why exactly do you want to make people scroll through 300+
    image buttons?
Is this supposed to be an image gallery or something? Sorry
    for all the
questions but it's hard to picture what you're trying to do
    without more
    facts.

  • A way to re-enable scroll bar buttons in Gnome (GTK) 3?

Is there a way to re-enable or add the scrollbar buttons (on the top and bottom of vertical scrollbars or on the left and right of horizontal scrollbars) in Gnome (GTK) 3?

Nice. I searched for those properties and set the values to 1 in my theme's gtk-widgets.css file (my theme is RevoLT by Malys) then refreshed the theme (by changing to a different theme then changing back) but nothing happened and there were no scrollbar buttons.
It worked after logging out then logging back in though. Is there a way to refresh themes in the classic "Fallback Mode" without logging out and in? Gnome Shell allows you to do Alt+F2 then run the "r" command but in fallback mode that doesn't work.
On another note, It's nice that the buttons can be turned on/off inside a theme's CSS, but I think it'd be more user friendly (maybe not for Archers, but especially for many Ubuntu users ) to be able to toggle this setting from within Gnome's "System Settings" (instead of theme designers deciding for us). Designers would simply design for both cases while letting users make the final decision in System Settings (or even gconf/dconf for that matter).

  • Vertical scroll bar disappears on the timeline?

After I use the vertical scroll bar once it disappears and I am unable to scroll. If I click the film strip on and off, it comes back. Is there a way to always keep the scroll bar visable on the timeline?

That has got to be a bug. Go to the Motion menu and Provide Motion Feedback... !
Otherwise, you can scroll with your mouse. I use a mouse with a scroll wheel, but I think I remember the magic mouse has a scroll gesture(?).
You can make the layers smaller by mousing over one of the lines in the layers list to the left of the timeline. The cursor should change to a double-pointed arrow. Click and drag the layers smaller.
You can open the timeline window wider by mousing over the Timeline top border, and click drag to make it larger.
I use this feature so rarely that I had never noticed before. When the scroll bar does appear, it's not "fully formed" either -- just a grey bar -- no resize controls on the ends at all.

  • Scroll bar disappears

I am very disappointed in Lion and wished I would have never purchased it.  Hyped up version of........nothing.  The scroll bar on calendar disappears after it is opened and you cannot schedule items past 11:00am.  In finder, there is no scroll to get to the bottom of the listing of files.  You have to highlight one file and use the arrow down to scroll for severl minutes to get to the bottom.  Seems like Apple rushed yet another program without working out the bugs.  I knew better than to buy it rather than waiting six month until it is fixed.  Now I have NO access to anything past 11:00am.

if you have a trackpad, just put two fingers on the trackpad and slide up with those two fingers over the part that you want to scroll down. that should activate all scrolling functions in lion.

  • Flash mx -ScrollPane - scroll bar issue

If we create some dynamic content and display it using
scrollPane and if the width and height of the clip( the clip
displayed in ScrollPane) changes dynamically by clicking on a
button then refreshPane method does not work properly. We have to
set original position of the clip to (0, 0) when scroll bar
(vertical/ horizontal) disappears. I think this is not a good idea
    to work around with scrollPane.
Let me know if there are any efficient methods with which we
can handle dynamic data in scrollPane to display it properly.
    Thanks in advance,

  • Scroll bar in Tree item

    hi
I would like to know if there is a way to get rid of the scroll bar in a tree item.. normally in other applications, windows explorer for eg. when the contents of the explorer is within the view, the scroll bar disappears automatically and when the contents exceeds the view, the scroll bar appears...
is it possible to change the line style of the tree nodes to doted or broken lines...
moreover.. is it possible to rename or edit a tree node just like windows explorer.. right now im calling another canvas on 'when-tree-node-activated' trigger..
i have written a search function just like the one in the forms object navigator... in forms 6. the hi-liter don't position itself if the search result exceeds the view.. it works in 6i.. i wish all the above queries can be met with 6i..
    plz help.. thanx in advance

    1) Scroll bars - scroll bars appear and disappear automatically based on the tree length when run over the web. Unfortunately there is no property for this in client-server
    2) You cannt change the line style, just the icons
    3) In order to rename or edit a tree node use
FTREE.SET_TREE_NODE_PROEPRTY you can use it to change the node label and node value
    Hope this helps,

  • Scroll Bar Thumbnails gone

I have Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 Extended.
In Pro 8 I was able to view each page as a thumbnail as I scrolled using the scroll bar button. The thumbnail would appear immediately beside the scroll button on the right of the screen.
I can't seem to get Acrobat Pro 9 to do this.
Is there a setting that has to be set to get this to work?
    regards

Thank-you very much - works well.

  • I want my horizontal scroll bar!

It is unbelievably tedious to have to open the custom zoom widget in order to accomplish something as simple as a horizontal scroll in a document -- particularly since the custom zoom widget cannot be moved over to the side where the bookmarks pane is. Instead, I have to open it, move the window, close it to actually see, lather, rinse, repeat.
Come on, please give us a horizontal scroll bar!

    Hi Ric,
Very interesting. I don't need a horizontal scroll bar *all* the time, but when I'm zoomed in closer than the width of the page -- well, I sure as heck need it then. :-) I would guess that most people would like the horizontal scroll bar to appear/disappear based on whether it's relevant. That would be OK with me.
The reason I use Adobe Digital Editions is to read case studies for business school -- that is to say, for reference and citation purposes. That's why multiple docs is important. And a lot of these cases, it turns out, have mixed portrait/landscape orientation. Most of the case will be in portrait, but some exhibits will be landscape -- that's when I most need the horizontal scrolling, for landscape-oriented stuff.
