[Solved] Show Connection in Use [netcfg]

hi!
I've just installed netcfg2 and it works great (thanks iphitus for your work!)
I've a stupid question in mind..
Actually I start manually my wireless connection (if active) and I leave arch connect to my eth0 automatically (simply adding eth0 on rc.conf interfaces).
what I ask you is .. is there a way to show what is the currently active connection ?
(like the crappy NetworkManager applet do)
ex. eth0 -> cable_connection
wlan0 -> SSID

The long timeout results from you restarting the network init script with no cable attached. netcfg does not need the network script, so if you're switching from wired to wifi, just stop network, then run netcfg.
You might find it useful to set up a profile for your wired connection too - then you could manage both of them with netcfg.

Just do what I just did:
Type myAM.getTransaction().getConnectionMetadata().get
and pause for a second or two, and you'll see that it's called getJdbcURL()

Was it just this one time? Could be that you, or your mom, were experiencing network problems. Try again at a later time.

Gnome applications could not connect to college Wifi using netcfg

Hi, I am using netcfg to connect to college wifi to access internet and i can access internet in CLI applications (pacman, clam), firefox and thunderbird but online account settings, gwidder and other gnome apps cannot access internet.
I also installed networkmanager some days before but then i uninstalled it.

Sounds to me like a hardware issue or maybe something is stuck in the headphone jack. When you plug in headphones, the jack in the iPad is switched to play only through the headphones and not the iPad's speakers. Sounds like either the jack is faulty or there is something stuck in the headphone jack. Get a flashlight & look inside the jack for anything that looks like it doesn't belong in there.
Regardless, I'd take it in to an Apple Store if you have one nearby to have it checked.
EDIT: "Ocean20" had an excellent suggestion above. While doing that, you may also want to rotate/twist the plug in the jack back & forth a few times as well. Dirty contacts can often times be cleared by doing this.

Could be an early retirement problem. There is no fixed lifespan for anything, as you know. Find a friend with a keyboard and test that in your machine. That will show if it is your keyboard or your computer. We can progress from there.

The reason I ask is because I need madwifi for my wireless and Arch does not allow me to install this file using pacman -A ......

madwifi depends on madwifi-utils, so you'll want to download this package too.

I am having trouble connecting at McDonalds & other open sites. The system shows connected but the internal sign on screen fails to display. USING 7

I open an HP at Mcdonalds. Firefox loads fine and the bar on the computer shows connected to the network. Firefox does not display the Mcdonalds sign in screen. after several reloads and attempts to connect the Mcdonalds sign on screen will finally display. After sign in everything works fine. I have most current version of FireFox . System is new and on Windows 7 Machine is an HP with i7 processor.
Same version on a thinkpad under XP works fine every time.

Is that with your own computer via a wireless connection or with a public computer?
If it is your own computer then your security software may be blocking data.
You can reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.
*Press and hold Shift and left-click the Reload button.
*Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
*Press "Cmd + Shift + R" (MAC)
You can try to clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":
*Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
*Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

Wi-fi drops after frequently, but shows connected

Hi,
Since the time I purchased my iPhone 5s, I have been facing this problem with Wi-fi. The first two times I went to the customer service, I was told it could be a problem with my modem. Even I thought my modem is the problem, but my andriod mobile does not give any issues as such. The problems I am facing with the Wi-fi is listed below.
1. Wifi shows connected, but actually it is not connected. I have too reset my network connections to use the internet. Even then, after some time it stops working.
2. After resetting my network, it works fine for some time, then it disconnects automatically.
3. The wifi speed is very slow compared to my low end andriod phone also.
4. Because of this, I cannot use apps like Facebook, WhatsApp, iPhone AppStore properly. I need to renew lease or rest my network.
I have been to the AASP (Imagine, Forum Mall, Bangalore) three times now and everytime they tell is the problem has been rectified reinstalling the software and tested using multiple wifi networks. All they do is reinstall the software and reset the network. It works fine for a day or two. Then the problem starts again.
Is there a software to identify if the Wi-fi is connected or not (Other then the icon on the home screen). I want to monitor when it drops, so that I can actually report this the customer service, so that they rectify the problem. Reinstalling the OS is not the solution for this, which solves the problem only for a short period of time.

There are some apps that let you check the speed of your Wifi or let you analyze your network connections.
Search for "Wifi finder", "System Status" or similar apps.
