[Solved] Strange font problem - after update.

Hello guys,
encountered a strange small font problem on sites with code wrappers like stackoverflow/blogs/jsfiddle. After update. took a look at my font setup all looks good.
I've also checked the settings for gtk2/3 and no problems there.
INFO:
Google-Chrome-Beta. [same thing]

Any ideas on this problem would be greatfully appreciated.

Update:
Tried reinstalling, change the fonts, remove all font clear the cache.
change, look up the settings, looked up size, tried monitor dpi.
checked all the config files for anything remotely related to this problem.
Had a quick look at the bug tracker for google-chrome-beta as well no reported
font problems as far as i can find.
Update2:
Tried adding custom.css to the browser not even that worked.
update3: [SOLVED]
So i solved the problem.
The problem was a faulty font that was stuck and used in the pre somehow.
Removed and added another to the list and somehow that worked.
recommendations - if anyone has this problem in the future.
open firefox and look in the font tab what is used. and remove that
or try to install a fixed one. that should work.
-Nothing has yielded any working results.
So any ideas at this point would be most appreciated.
Thanks,
-L

  • [SOLVED] charging + touchpad problem after update

    *******EDIT*******
after trying some other live cds, the problems below are almost certainly hardware related, with timing of update coincidental.
    hi all,
I have a Asus UX32VD. I was travelling for a few weeks and updated when I got home, including the kernel to 3.10.44
now the battery stops charging around 50% (tried two chargers at two different locations)
    $ acpi -i
Battery 0: Charging, 48%, charging at zero rate - will never fully charge.
Battery 0: design capacity 5863 mAh, last full capacity 4920 mAh = 83%
also the touchpad stopped working entirely (was not recognized in 'xinput list') but after some searching I blacklisted i2c-hid, which seems to have helped, but the touchpad still sometimes becomes unresponsive (especially when unplugging/plugging in power) and leaves the following in the journal:

I'm also having some other smaller issues that I'll work on before asking about. I tried rolling back the kernel back to before the update but it didn't change the charging behaviour or help with the touchpad. I'm going to try rolling everything  serious-looking back but wanted to post first in case anyone has any ideas.
thanks for the help, and please let me know anything else required.

I have the same problem with the touchpad. It stopped working after update.

  • Strange font problem after kernel update

    Hi,
I recently did a pacman -Su system update which told me there was one new package available which was the kernel. I let it install and when i rebooted my fonts had kind of 'degraded' in kde. They're still usable but they now look like they haven't been rendered properly because of a dpi problem. However, xdpyinfo tells me my screen's at 92x96 dpi and i have all the 100 and 75 dpi fonts installed so i don't understand how this would happen. i even tried reinstalling the nvidia drivers in case it was the kernel module which needed rebuilding.
I never had this problem updating before although i have known pacman to remove things it shouldn't in the past so could it have deleted something??
Hope someone can shed some light on this for me
    Dan

I solved that by resetting the parameter ram, as explained here: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=2238

And before downgrading everything i thought i would ask if any one knows or had the same problem. There is a part to witch i not sure if its related at all and that is my ufw suddenly blocking out going traffic as i under stud it.

  • Solved ( Ipad charging problem after update IOS 7.0.4 )

Its already verified by me ( Technician ) problem solved.
We were working on my customers ipad for 2-3 weeks finally figured out whats the problem.
We replaced new battery, cable and charger did not work. Reseting your ipad also does not work.
Since we fixed customers Ipad. We tried the small charger, 10w charger and connecting to computer it works. Fully charge.
Its easy fixed. Here what you can do. You need to do fresh factory restore. Do not use restore / update
    1. If your ipad is dead, slow charging. Find a way to have it charge get it at least 5-10 % charge so that your computer will detect it on Itune.
    2. Open Itune, check if your detect it, you see it on top right coner.
    3. If you have FIND MY IPAD app you have to turn it off otherwise it wont allow you. To turn it off go to PRIVACY then you will see LOCATION services turn it on
You also see FIND MY IPAD if its on turn it off it will ask your Apple ID and password. If its off already your ready to go. NOTE: Ipad has to be connected
        on  WIFI or 3G
    4. Go back to Itune. On the top right corner you will see your IPAD NAME click that, you see another box ( restore / update and restores ipad ) select restore
Ipad ( Factory restore with new IOS 7.0.4 ) let it finish the restore and your done. It will now Fixed your problem. It should charge using your original charge
      or connecting to your computer.
NOTE: If you want to upgarde your IOS to 7.0.4 dont do the update you might have problem. You do fresh Factory restore it install new IOS 7.0.4 no problem.
If you have data that you need to have to back it up this restore will earese all information on your ipad.
Good Luck, let me know if this help you and dont forget to share it.

The weird iTunes icon.... Does it also show the USB cord on the screen? If it does, that means that you have to restore your iPad using iTunes on your computer. Something went wrong and you have to fix it by restoring the iOS software.

  • Font problems after update folio tools & iPad app

I updated all of my DPS tools and the ipad app and now for some reason one of my fonts looks very crunchy and jagged around the edges. It looked fine before I updated and now it looks horrible and I don't know what to do to fix it.  Anyone know what I can do to make it look normal again, I'd really apreciate the help?
Here's how it used to look and how it looks now.
    Update:
I have figured out that the problem seems to be with any text that I converted into a button.  If I make it an object then it looks fine.  I don't know why updating my dps tools would make all my buttons look horrible they looked fine before the update but at least I can do a work around now.

it's impossible to know how my particular combination of hardware and software (Finale music notation; Distiller; Imposition Wizard) is going to react in the absence of other people doing exactly the same thing.
You don't need other people's experience for this, just an extra drive with a partition where you can install an upgrade and test your requirements before moving to it permanently. Lots of people who cannot afford to have OS update problems work this way. Superduper has a "sandbox" feature which makes this really easy.
I always think that if you're going to reinstall the OS, best do it fresh rather than a clone that may already have some cruft on it.
Perhaps. The main value of the clone is that you can keep working without losing the time required to reinstall, which could be important for a particular user on a particular day.

  • SOLVED! --- compositing problem after update

well, I've made this week's update too, just as always
since this update I do not have compositing on my gnome desktop ( I've used fusion-icon)
ps ax | grep fusion    showed no process, so I've tried to start fusion-icon from a terminal, here's the result:
    ------------- code -----------------
    fusion-icon

Hmm, so, as far as i know I've cairo and qt installed.
Any ideas? Anyone has the same problem?
Had a good night's sleep and corrected the problem,
    I've installed the [pycairo] package.
    Everything's fine now.

  • Solved - px4-300d problem after update to 4.1.104.31360

    Hello all.
When I have updated my NAS from 4.0.8. to the newest one, the NAS can not start up. On the dispaly I still see "the device isconfiguring storage" When I open Lenovo store manager, there is mentioned "the device is unable to acquire your external ip adress. Confirm, that your device is connected to a router which connects to the internet." Do you have any Idea how I can solve it? I use TP link router with no possibilty to connect to the NAS from outside (only for home using).
Thank you very much for your advices, Tomas
Solved - update just needed more time.......

Try disconnecting from the domain and rejoining.

Force close the App Store app and reset the iPad. No data will be lost when you reset the device.
In order to close apps, you have to drag the app up from the multitasking display. Double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen. Swipe to get to the app that you want to close and then swipe "up" on the app preview thumbnail to close it.
Next, reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

  • Bluetooth problem after update to lollipop

Hi,I've recently updated my 6503 to Lollipop.Everything went smoothly and is working fine, except 2 issues - one solved, second NOT. FIRST (solved) - phone after update waked up and logged to 2G network, with no data transmission (despite it was turned ON). What was strange - my operator's network appeared in 'available network list' as separate 3 NETWORKS ( 2g, 3g and LTE) Switching manually to LTE solved it - now phone is switching between technologies automatically, data transmission is working fine. SECOND AND NOT SOLVED: I'm using the hands-free system built in my car ( mitsubishi lancer, 2008 ) . After update, phone failed to establish connection with it, even hands-free system remained as 'associated device'. OK ... I erased hands-free system from phone, as well as phone from car's memory. Paired devices again - starting procedure from car's side. Nothing better. Erased and paired starting from phone side. Nothing better. What I've  observed more: phone after try to establish connection , phone in eye blink looses it. On list of available services of hands-free system (in phone menu ofc) , only 'phone sound' appears, while -as I remember but i'm not sure- before update more (2 or 3) services were detected .   PLEASE HEEELP !

Re: Bluetooth problem after update to lollipop As above post, I am also experiencing problems with bluetooth on my Z2:- Phone connection is OK if Bluetooth is turned on the phone for " car is ready". Then I can make and receive calls.
    - Playing music on bluetooth does not work after Lollipop 5.0.2 update on my car head unit. Previously connected and able to stream music on 4.4.4 Kit Kat with no issues, looking on web this is not a new issue with Bluetooth connection issues to devices since Lollipop came out so what the **bleep** is going on? I purposely bought a Sony TV, Car Head Unit and Soundbar to ensure everything worked together now the head unit that I only had fiitted in February does not connect which cost me £249!!! No issues connecting to TV or Soundbar but on HU it tries to connect then disconnects and BT Audio Icon on HU display greys out although phone is connected and icon highlighted as connected. I have cleared cache, unpaired and paired again, reinstalled 5.0.2 again through wifi instead of OTA but still the same. Car device: Sony XAV-602BTAndroid version 5.0.2Version: 23.1.A.0.726

Microsoft Office 2011 no longer opens because "there is a problem" after updating mountain lion when the app store said there was an update available this morning. Reinstalling did not work. What's the problem?

Has your problem been solved by the updates??
Have a similar problem. This MacBook opened all MS Office programs in Dec2012 but no longer does in Feb2013. Went to Microsoft/mac/downloads but none of the three updates would run citing a problem "version of software needed to run this update was not found on this volume".
MacBook: 7.1, Intel Core 2 Duo, 2.4 GHz
    Microsoft Office 2011:  version 14.2.3
    Mountain Lion: 10.8.2 (12C60)

    Hi all
Like to share that my AV Adapter problem is solved ... brought it to Apple Service Center as a last resort after the new iOS v5.1 did not solve mine like some others have theirs solved.
In fact, the Apple Service Center tried my AV Adapter and find that it does not work with their iphone and ipad too and flagged for a replacement.
Just this week collected the replacement and tested that the replaced adapter works !
So this "unsupported device" error msg could also be due to faulty adapter .... although it is unbelievable that a "simple" wired connector could so easily breakdown after 1 time use !   I never did believe that it can be broken so easily as we hardly used it after the first testing with our TV on HDMI.
Closing this chapter of mine finally.

  • Problems after updating from Mavericks to Yosemite.

Hello everyone.I have noticed some battery problems after updating from Mavericks to Yosemite like no charging at all (but the orange led was on )and not able to fully charged.I solve them with SMC reset and PRAM reset.Furthermore, battery discharges faster than before and its really annoying. Now I have notice that the upper right corner of my mac is getting hot.I'll appreciate any help
MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Late 2013

Try these in order testing your system after each to see if it's back to normal:
    1. a. Resetting your Mac's PRAM and NVRAM
        b. Intel-based Macs: Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC)
    2. Restart the computer in Safe Mode, then restart again, normally. If this doesn't help, then:
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the Utilities menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
    3. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu. Select Restart from the Apple menu.
    4. Reinstall Yosemite: Reboot from the Recovery HD. Select Reinstall OS X from the Utilities menu, and click on the Continue button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible
because it is three times faster than wireless.
    5. Reinstall Yosemite from Scratch:
Be sure you backup your files to an external drive or second internal drive because the following procedure will remove everything from the hard drive.
How to Clean Install OS X Yosemite
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible
because it is three times faster than wireless.

  • Light Flow / Accessibility Problems After Update ..

OK Light Flow problem after update.... the problem is my Talk Back in Accessibility keeps turning on after i restart my phone i know it should not do that it only dose it when i have Light Flow - LED & Notification installed and Tturned on in Accessibility   ..... i use Light Flow - LED & Notification to control my LED Notification becuse i hate the built in feature that came with the phone the default management keep the LED to dim hard to see  ........ i have used the app ever scene i got the phone and never had a problem tell this crappy update JZO54K.I535VRBLMD3 / I535VRBLMD3 came out  i also believe the update JZO54K.I535VRBLMD3 / I535VRBLMD3 that was pushed out made the Accessibility option bad / and everything else
    The phone is new
i have hard factory reset it / battery pulled
it did it with old phone but did not do it before that update was pushed
i also got a (NEW) NOT REFURBED phone trying to solve the poor 4G LTE signal /battery life
and over all phone performance with no luck  that update was a bad one and needs to be addressed
PLEASE FIX THE PROBLEM >>>>> VERIZON SAMSUNG GOOGLE ( PLEASE )

yep, I had that same problem too, but found a work around.  First I tried disabling the accessibility options (but that was no good, I like the light flow notifications).  I read from the app (see bottom of opening screen):
I found the work around to be just getting a folder app from the play store - the only talking it was doing was "opening folder" "closing folder" (annoying as he!!)
See the second screen for what that says as far as options.  My opinion - just get the folder app, it's easier.
