SOLVED - Syncing Subscription Calenders

I have finally found a way to sync my subscription calendars to my iphone! I have been working on this for at least a year. Its not perfect because everytime there is a change on the subscription calendar you have to repeat these steps to update.
I will try to go through an easy step by step way. One of the Calendars I subscribe to is US holidays so I will use it as an example to make it easy.
1. Create a new Holiday Calendar with the same name as the Subscription Calendar under Calendars.
2. Highlight the Holiday calendar under subscriptions
3. Go to File and export it to your desktop
4. Double Click Holidays.ics on your desktop and add new events to the Holiday calendar you just created under Calendars.
5. Finished! Now you can sync.
The only problem with this, is if you have changes to the subscription calendar, you have to repeat these steps and overwrite the calendar to add or change events. Also, dont check the subscription list to show in your calendar as you will have double entries. I update each of my subscription calendars (with the obvious exception of US Holidays) pretty regularly.
Hopefully APPLE will find an easier way. ALSO, This helps with the Mobile ME sync too.

You need to first back up your iPhone with iCloud and/or iTunes. When you Set Up as New iPhone, it will be erased of all the data, and be like a New iPhone. Then you can Restore your previously saved data from iCloud or from iTunes on your computer. But back up first.

How to solve sync problem between Outlook calendar and iPhone when reminder is set to _some_ non-standard values?

I am having a sync problem between my iPhone/iPad and Outlook calendar events (Outlook 2010).
Here is the description of the problem:
1. In Outlook - please create a new event/appointment (e.g. "Test").
2. Reminder is set by default to 15 minutes. You can change it by using a dropdown menu - please select: "0,5 days".
3. Click on "0,5 days" and change it manually to "14,5 days".
4. Click on "Save & Close".
5. (Do not snooze or dismiss the reminder.)
6. Sync with your iPhone/iPad.
7. Open this new event on iPhone/iPad - you can see that alert is set to "15 minutes before" instead to a correct value that was set in Outlook.
The same problem can be seen if you set the reminder to e.g. "3 weeks" (standard value is "2 weeks").
However, it is interesting that non-standard values like "1,5 days" (and all other until "13,5 days") are synced without any problem.
Does anyone have a solution how to solve this problem (different than the trivial solution of not using those strange values)?

Thanks to another post (https://discussions.apple.com/message/17501071#17501071) I reset the sync history, here is what to do:
Launch iTunes.
Before you hook up your iPhone to the PC and iTunes do this: Go to iTunes Edit menu > Preferences… > select the iPhone > click the Reset Synch History button > click OK.
Connect the iPhone to the PC and let iTunes recognize it.
In the top right corner is the iPhone icon, click on the left side of the iPhone icon > the iPhone menu launches.
In the menu along the top click on Info > make your selections > click Sync button > it gives you a dialog at the top with the steps it’s going through during the sync.
In the top left of the iTunes app > click Exit.

I solved the problem. Turns out that I need kdebindings-python package installed. Thanks to http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=54940.

TS3999 I am receiving an error message "setup can't continue because outlook isn't configured to have a default profile" I have checked all defaults are on in outlook. Please help, can't sync my calenders or contacts, but the email works fine in outlook.

I've looked at the Microsoft support info and it doesn't reveal anything new. I looked up the eM Client software and have decided to give it a try. I've been using Thunderbird and Gmail for years, but the issue of keeping contacts in snyc accross platforms led me to try Outlook as supposedly compatable with iCloud. Thanks for eM Client tip. It seems to work well and I'll be testing it for the next few weeks. While I'd still like to be able to solve the issue with Outlook (I'm not used to being defeated by software), I've got plenty of other things to keep me busy and a working solution is the priority here.

Solved: SYNC address book on mac with my blackberry 9800 Torch

ok the issue is that brand new out of the box the 9800 will (at least did not with me) not work with my mac at home for sync to address book.
Issue #1, the CD that comes witht he phone is the small one, so don't bother trying to use that cd in your mac, it will get stuck and you'll have to find a mechanical way to remove that cd out of your mac.
Solution to this issue is to download the BB Desktop Manager from the BB website.
ok so now you are running the BB desktop manager. looks simple and cool... Ical syncs up fine but the address book doesn't
A work around is to sync up with GMAIL and then add the GMAIL contacts to your BB phone. its a bandaid fix. not the solution.
Ok so on to solving this :
Step 1, if you are like me you enabled the WiFi on your BB phone. don't get me wrong WiFi works good, not great but good. Temporarily turn it off... yes RIM you have a bug with your WiFi tool on your BB phone that causes apps from your BB apps store to not download correctly. (COD Timeouts) ok so now that you turned off the WiFi, go to your browser on your BB phone and head on over to : www.blackberry.com/messenger
download that app update. with WiFi, it times out after a few minutes. when WiFi is turned off, it downloads rather fast. Once it downloads your phone will reboot, wait a few seconds/minutes then connect your phone back to the BB Desktop Manager. In my case it SYNC'd up fine on my Calendar and Address Book.

when you say that your address book is synced with your Torch, does that include more than 2 phone numbers per contact, all addresses and email addresses?
my boss can sync with address book, but only two phone numbers. some contacts have up to 7 numbers saved on her mac's address book.

I have an iphone 4 and ever since i downloaded the new ios5 my calenders dont sync properly.

I've been working on this all day!!! I've tried everything I know of and can't get it to load either. Sounds like lots of people are having problems. Here is what I have so far...I have uninstalled EVERYTHING on my pc from apple and reinstalled itunes to no avail. I have tried all sorts of things I've read as fixes online. NOTHING has worked. Here is something interesting that i have noticed though. my main pc (which is the one i have always managed my itunes account with for years) is a 32 bit system running windows 7. Yesterday I installed itunes for the first time on my new netbook which is a 64 bit (windows 7) system and it works just fine. i have three other laptops (all window 7) in my household that are all 64 bit operating systems and ALL have updated to 10.5 and THEY ALL work fine. this is FOUR 64 bit systems ALL updated w/10.5 that work and ONE that is a 32 bit that will not. Can't get any help from apple. their suppot *****! I want to get someone on the **** phone or a live chat but cant. *** APPLE????? please let mw know if you find SOMETHING i can try next. I'm out of ideas and patience!

ITunes U not syncing subscriptions

Ok, so I downloaded the iTunes U app from the app store and installed it on my iPhone 3GS. Next thing I do is fire up the app and start searching some interesting course content, subscribing to a few lectures along the way. Then I go back to the main window and so far so good, my subscriptions showed up and I was able to browse through the course content and even watch a couple of lectures (videos). I loved the way everything was so organized and categorize, really made it easy to work with and very intuitive… however I’m not much of a fan of watching an hour long presentation on my iPhone; I would much rather watch it on my MacBook Pro.
Now I assumed that given the whole “cloud craze”, all I had to do was open up iTunes on my MBP and it will automagically sync the subscriptions I already made on my iPhone with the iTunes U section of iTunes on my MBP. I waited… nothing… checked for available downloads… nothing…
So I tried to search for the same courses I subscribed to earlier, and apparently iTunes on my MBP claims that I’m not subscribed to them. I browse to them once again on my iPhone and it says that I am subscribed to them. At this point I feel like my Apple ID is developing a split-personality disorder.
So can anyone please explain to me why I’m getting mixed signals from my different devices with regards to the same service on the same Apple ID?
My device specs are:
- iPhone 3GS, running iOS 5.0.1
- MacBook Pro 15”, running iTunes 10.5.3 on Mac OS X Lion 10.7.2

I will bump the same issue. I am not able to sync iTunes U content between my phone and desktop. Some other solutions suggested forcing the download from a connected device in iTunes, but that only works if you connect your device witih iTunes. I use the icloud integration, so I don't directly sync my phone with iTunes. That direct download solution won't work unless you change the sync method or physically connect your phone. If this content syncs between iOS devices I don't see any reason why it wouldn't sync to your desktop. Especially content which is probably the most useful when viewed on your desktop.

IOS Update did not solve syncing issue

I'm still having problems with my playlists and art cover on my iPad 2 and my iPhone 4. On my iPad I can't see most of the artwork, but all playlists sync just fine. On my iPhone, artwork syncs just fine, but I can't find iTunes playlists (Top 25, Recently added, etc.). I'm running itunes 10.6.3 on my Mac, iOS 5.1.1 on iPad and iPhone.

In my case I managed to fix it by means of this article:

[SOLVED] Sync EFISTUB Kernel in UEFISYS partition using Systemd

Hello all,
I followed the instructions in the wiki to sync EFISTUB kernel with systemd (I boot Arch along with Win8 using rEFInd). The process appears to be running, but when I update my kernel (for example, this morning to 3.7.3-1 via pacman -Syu) the copy doesn't seem to succeed. On my next reboot, the previous kernel tries to load, so I need to boot into a live distribution and copy the new files manually into /boot/efi/EFI/arch. This has happened on the last couple kernel updates.
Here is my /etc/systemd/system/efistub-update.path:

and it works flawlessly all the time. Your file doesn't seem to have the Unit=..... in the [Path] section. I don't know if its needed. The wiki changed since i created my files. Adapt it to your naming scheme.

Syncing Google Calenders in IPad Iphone and Windows PC

I have a google mail account on my Ipad Iphone and my Windows PC. When I make an entry on the Google Calender on the PC it syncs successfully to my IPad & Iphone. If I make an entry to the Calender on either my Ipad or my Iphone this info does not get synced to my Google Calender on my PC. Why please

Seriously, don't worry, somebody in the Apple Discussions Community will help you figure out what the problem is! I promise.
You see, one of the main reasons why Apple Products are easy to love is because of all of the kindhearted, kindred folks here who enjoy helping others. I try to help too, but I never get any points. My heart is in the right place though.
I don't actually have an iPhone myself BUT I know that sometimes when I connect with iTunes online, that there is a lag while the "Genius" is "analyzing my iTunes library". Perhaps that could have something to do with it?

*SOLVED* Sync BB calendar with Google Calendar w/o BIS/BES

So. Got a BB Bold 9780, but got mighty disappointed as Danish providers either do not provide BIS or do so at rediculous costs.
I am a former Nokia user and on Nokia I was a keen user of Googasync and was looking for something similar for BB.
But to no avail. Googasync does not support BB, and there did not seem to be any alternative.
But sometimes life is just incredible, because as I thought back on how I found Googasync in the first place, I realized I had also tried GCalSync, which is an open source solution (which, admittedly is a tad bit old).
But it gets the job done in spite of being very ugly.
So. www.gcalsync.com is the way to go (and if The Evil Empire takes it down, you can always ask me to mail the app)..
What it does: Syncs a Google Calendar.
What it doesn't do:
* Look good
* Sync multiple calendars (I have a bookmark for Google Calendar in Opera, so that I can see my GF's calendar as well).

To enable Google calendar synchronization with the BlackBerry smartphone, complete the following steps:
Launch the Email Settings application within the Setup application or Setup folder on the BlackBerry smartphone.
If applicable, select Internet Mail Account.
Select the Gmail address and select Edit.
Scroll down and expand Synchronization Options.
Check the Calendar check box and click Save.
Confirm the Gmail password, and click OK.

[solved] Sync thunderbird and GMail

I have thunderbird setup to retrieve messages from my Gmail account. This may seem like a simple problem: when I read an e-mail in thunderbird, then log onto gmail.com, it does not show up as read, but it will show up as read when I go back into thunderbird. I cannot see a way to fix this, any suggestions?

Birthday Calendar and Other Subscriptions Sync Problems

Is there a way for the Birthday calendar (when turned on in the prefs) to be synced to iCal on my iPod Touch?
I've also noticed that my Holiday calendar subscription doesn't sync. Is it that the iPod Touch doesn't sync subscription calendar?
Perhaps this belongs in the iPod Touch discussions.

1) publish the birthdays calendar from iCal, then
2) send a publish email to your own email address (one the iPhone checks)
3) click the link in the email on the phone. It should open iCal on the phone and download the calendar.
You can confirm by going to the calendars main screen. It should have two subcategories now, “Mac.com (MobileMe)” and “Subscribed”.
