I'm looking into your issue, but you can downgrade for the time being.  Look for fglrx packages in /var/cache/pacman/pkg and then execute "pacman -U fglrx-8.37.6-1.pkg.tar.gz" or whatever the version number is.  If you haven't got them, I'll upload them for you.
Also, according to Wikipedia there should be a 8.36.7 version but I can't find it anywhere.

  • [update July 5, 2007] k3b 1.0.2-1

    After Install K3B 1.0.2-1
    K3B is frozen.
several restarts and it takes long long time to start up.

    Zer0 : libata is a kernel module.
I did some searching on the web to get more information and users of other distros are also experiencing the same problem.  One of them mentionned that using kernel 2.6.22-rc7 fixed it. If you want to try it, it's available in the folllowing repos, along with the external drivers.
    For i686
    [kernel]
    Server = http://www.archlinux.org/~tpowa/rc-kernel
    For x86_64
    [kernel]
    Server = http://www.archlinux.org/~thomas/rc-kernel-x86_64
As these are rc, I would recommend having a live CD or installing another kernel (ck, suspend2) with its entry in the grub or lilo config in case that the rc  kernel doesn't boot/work .
For those who wants to downgrade, the old packages are here:
    http://www.archlinux.org/~eric/k3b-1.0. … pkg.tar.gz
    http://www.archlinux.org/~eric/k3b-1.0. … pkg.tar.gz
in case you cleaned your cache.

  • Fglrx-utils is a dep. of gnome-screensaver ?!

    Hey There,
I'm trying to upgrade to GNOME 2.20 but it requires installing fglrx-utils since gnome-screensaver's dependencies require it.. I'm a nVidia user by the way.. :S

scj wrote:Is it possible to use to query which packages provide package X?
Hm, not directly, but if you do a search for the provision:
    $ pacman -Ss ^libgl$
    extra/fglrx-utils 8.40.4-1
Proprietary AMD/ATI userspace tools and libraries for Radeon brand cards.
    extra/libgl-dri 6.5.2-1
Mesa DRI OpenGL library and drivers
    extra/nvidia-71xx-utils 1.0.7185-1
NVIDIA legacy drivers utilities and libraries, 71xx branch.
    extra/nvidia-96xx-utils 1.0.9639-1
NVIDIA legacy drivers utilities and libraries, 96xx branch.
    extra/nvidia-utils 100.14.11-1
    NVIDIA drivers utilities and libraries.
Everything that provides libgl shows up, but it doesn't really explain why.  I think a bit of extra info in the search results was planned (I remember a thread about it...)

  • HT5022 I'm trying to add a "new client" to my wireless network using Airport Utility, but I can't find that option in the new version.  I've downloaded all available updates of the OS and the utility..  Help!

I'm trying to add my HP wireless printer as a "new client" to my wireless network using Airport Utility, but I can't find that option in the new version.  I've downloaded all available updates of the OS and the utility..  Help!

Why would you need to ADD a new Client. Unless the APE sytem is completely different then any other Wireless router the printer should get an IP address from the router. That is IF the printer is setup to get an IP from the LAN DHCP server.
Now you may want to make that IP it does get a Staticly assign IP address so it never changes, which will screw up printing if it does change. But i don't know if you can do that with APE routers.

  • Trying to update airport express by downloading airport utility 5.6 on my macbook pro/lion.  getting error message "version of OS X  on this volume is not supported"  What does it mean?

Trying to update airport express by downloading Airport Utility 5.6 (which it says I need).  When installing I get an error message, "...version of Mac OSX on this volume is not supported."  What does it mean/what do I do?

For OS X Lion, you need to download this version directly from Apple Support Downloads.

  • Installer won't install updates (10.7.3 Combo/ AirPort Utility)

I was wondering why Software Update (or whatever it is called on the English GUI) didn't display the 10.7.3 or the Airport Utility updates yet on my iMac (27" mid2011 / OS 10.7.2).
So I tried to run Software Update manually. Software Update tells me that there is no new software available for my Mac.
Next I tried to download the Combo Update to 10.7.3, Airport Utility 5.6 and 6.0. Turns out that I can't install any of those updates manually either.
When I have to define the location to install the update all my hard disks have the warning sign attached and the following message is displayed:
Mac OS X Combined / Airport Utility /...  can't be installed on this disk. An error occured while evaluating JavaScript for the package.
Tried repairing permissions, rebooting, no sucess so far.
    Any help would be appriciated!

Oh god, just figured out what the problem was...
Booted up from the recovery partition and there it said "Can't install Lion on Server partition." I knew instantly what happened.
A few weeks ago I installed Snow Leopard as guest in Parallels via the ServerVersion.plist workaround. Forgot to delete the file I copied via Terminal... no wonder Softwareupdate couldn't install anything since it thought this was a Server. Thanks, your suggestion led to the resolution of this problem.

  • After updating to 10.7.3, Airport Utility Stop Working

    Hi,
After updating the 10.7.3 combo update, when I apply the Aiport Utility 6.0 update, it told me that a "unexpected error occurred". From that point on, the Airport Utility on my Mac is no longer functional. every time I launch the app, nothing happens, the icon don't even bounce on the dock.
    Any suggestions?

Hi. During the process of updating my ipad to IOS 6 utilizing iTunes, I received the error #1602. I tried the update procedure again, this time itunes does not recognize the devise. The pad is displaying USB connecter to iTunes. Can anyone recomend a fix?
    Thank you

There is only one fix now. The message on the screen means that you have to restore the iOS software on the iPad now. Read the part at the very end about using recovery mode.
iTunes: Restoring iOS software - Support - Apple
    About the error code.....
    Error 1600, 1601, 1602
Follow the steps listed above for Error 1604. This error may also be resolved by disabling, deactivating, or uninstalling third-party security, antivirus, and firewall software. See steps in this article for details on troubleshooting security software.
    If needed.....
    Additional Information
If your device is continually restarting, not responding, or showing the Apple logo with no progress bar or a stopped progress bar, place the device into recovery mode and try restoring again.

  • Oracle Critical Patch Update  - July 2008

    Hi All,
How I can get the information about bug fixed in Oracle Critical Patch Update - July 2008?
    or send me any link...
    Thanks..

Well, it all depends on which specific release you are talking about. CPU's are provided for Oracle 9iR2 (9.2.0.8.0) up to the latest available oracle version. They are also available for other non RDBMS oracle products.
If you want to get information about CPU's you may take a look at this reference: --> Oracle Critical Patch Update Advisory - July 2008, from this point on you can drill down to find out information about your specific oracle version.
This information is publicly available and up to this point you don't need a support contract to review this information. Support contracts are required when you plan to download the specific patch pointed by the CPU document, and it depends not only on the Oracle release, but also on the particular OS platform.

  • [solved] Xorg 1.8.1 + FGLRX Mouse and keyboard don't work...

Beginning this week i installed Arch linux for the first time (several times infact) and i followed the installtion guide to get gnome working on my machine...
    pacman -Sy
    pacman -S xorg
    pacman -S gnome gnome-system-tools gnome-extra gdm gksu
I also added the "fuse usblp"  and " fam hal" entries to /etc/rc.conf in their respective sections as decribed there.
When i would reboot and type gdm the system would start up and i could configure everything else, but after reinstalling this morning this no longer works because the xorg got upgraded to a new version.
When i type gdm or startx in complains that "vesa" has no modes, so i installed and configure the fglrx drivers from the pacman source.
Now comes the actual problem, when i now type gdm or startx i get the graphical enviroment but my keyboard and mouse do not work and the computer is frozen.
I tried going to a diffirent tty but it won't take those commands either.
Does anyone have any idea what the problem could be ? i do not understand what is wrong....
The Solution - Because the vesa driver didn't work i installed fglrx and i deleted this folder called /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d as i had never seen it before and figured that  i didn't need it if xorg.conf was present.
Leaving the folder intact solved the problem
it was a noobish mistake from a beginner, sorry folks

  • Base Station Update 2007-001: AirPort Utility - where?

I am confused (is this a surprise?):
The recent "AirPort Base Station Update 2007-001" (see link below) includes general fixes and compatibility updates for the following applications, and I quote:
    - AirPort Utility
    - AirPort Admin Utility for Graphite and Snow Base Stations.
I do have AirPort Admin Utility 4.2. So I download the update, but it tells me:
"You CANNOT install AirPort Base Station Update 2007-001 on this volume.
This update requires AirPort Utility 5/0 to be installed."
Pardon? I do have AirPort Admin Utility 4.2.
    * Where can I get AirPort Utility in order to update AirPort Admin Utility?
Sure, if I buy a new square base station, I'll get AirPort Utility on a CD. But how to apply the fixes to my good old white spaceship and update AirPort Admin Utility? Looking for clarification. Thanks.
    Update: http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/apple/application_updates/airportbasestati onupdate2007001formac.html

The old "Airport Admin Utility" 4.2.3 gets bumped to 4.2.5 and the name is changed to "AirPort Admin Utility for Graphite and Snow" since it is the only one still supporting the older models.
The bump from 4.2.3 to 4.2.5 must have fixed compatibility problems between the graphite/snow and "AirPort Admin Utility". If not, then owners of those base stations are going to experience problems.
Both Utilities can configure older Extreme and Express Base Stations.
It seems odd that one would be named specifically "...for Graphite and Snow"...

  • Experience with trying to solve the problems from 2007-001 update

I am on a C2D iMac running 10.4.8, Airport card connecting to Buffalo Airstation.
Just to share what I've done yesterday
    1. Did the archive and re-install OS X thing.
    2. Updated firmware up to the point right before 2007-001 update (used ethernet cable to download, otherwise it would have taken forever.)
Result - connection doesn't drop any more, but wireless transmission speed is really slow.
    3. Went into the Buffalo Airstaion config and changed the wireless channel.
Result - for about 5 minutes the transmission became as fast as my Core Duo MacBook on wireless (can do ~100kbps on file downloads etc.), and then it became slow again.
I will continue to try changing the channel sporadically over the next few days, but increasingly I'm starting to feel I shouldn't bother. I'm connecting via ethernet cable now, it's much faster (even when compared to when the wireless connection was at 100%). "All" that I have to live with now is the ugly cable being strewn around the house.
Be that as it may, I'm still pretty disappointed by the whole experience.

    Hey anoblegee,
If you are having issues with connecting to your wireless router, then the first thing I would check is the settings on the router to make sure they are using the recommended set up. Take a look at that and also the troubleshooting Wi-Fi articles for both Mac and iOS devices.
