[solved] vimperator without help?

For some reason vimperator :help command is not working anymore (plus I lost tab views, etc). Is this due to a firefox upgrade?
I currently have the 3.6.3-1 version installed.

Yeah, I had that problem. Stale files or some such. You need to remove them:
rm ~/.mozilla/firefox/.../extensions/[email protected]/components/chrome-data.js ~/.mozilla/firefox/.../extensions.cache

    Hello. I sent my WRT1900AC V1 to Linksys four days ago (Monday) via UPS with a RMA. Linksys paid the shipping and everything. The router is still in route, and it should arrive to their offices tomorrow. Once they receive the WRT1900 AC V1, they are going to send me an EA8500 as a replacement. But I have been reading the comments about the EA8500 here in the forum and it seems to have the same problems. I guess the firmware is extremely flawed in both routers (maybe it is almost the same code?). Anyway, I will try the EA8500 and I hope it works. I bought a temporary router from Walmart and I paid $35 for it. It is a Belink N600 DB. I can't believe that a $35 router is working a lot, lot, lot better than my previous $250 WRT1900AC router. Unbelievable. If the EA8500 doesn't work, I'm going to try and get my money back from Linksys, or contact The Consumerist or someone to get my money back and get a Nighthawk instead.

    Greetings,
    Questions:
    1. What version of the Mac OS are you running (Apple > About this Mac)?
    2. What version of the iOS are you running (Settings > About)?
    3. Do you use MobileMe/ iCloud or another server based sync solution like Google or Yahoo?
    4. Do other changes to synced information like Address Book content sync successfully back and forth?
    Based on your description it sounds like you have a 1 way sync issue.  Events sync fine between the iOS devices and fine from the computer to the iOS devices but not from the iOS devices to the computer.
    Try:
    Backup your computer and iOS devices before doing anything else:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1427
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1766
    Ensure all the devices in use are fully up to date: Apple > Software Update / Settings > General > Software Update
    Make separate backups of critical data:
    Backup your computer Addressbook: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=AddressBook/4.0/en/ad961.html
    Backup your computer iCal: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2966
    Reset syncing on your Mac: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1627
    Reply back if that does not resolve your issue.
    Hope that helps.

    Thanks for the flag J.K. - they contaced me and solved my problem.  On this account (which I created just to ask this question), I log in with my email rather than my user name (mtalldud). On the account that I was having trouble with, they told me to use my user ID instead of my email to log in and it worked. This is a bit confusing and seems a bit inconsistent but at least I don't need this temporary account any more to get into this community and find answers!

    And here is the xorg log without an xorg.conf in place
    I do get output on the second monitor with no xorg conf in place, and with my old xorg.conf, from before I tried setting up for a second monitor.  However, the second monitor is simply a clone of the first, while I want an extended desktop...basically one workspace on each screen in xmonad.  I based my xorg.conf on this link, mainly, which is where the second device, screen, etc sections came from.

  • Behaviors without helper functions

    Hi all, I'm trying to create a behavior that doesn't require
    a behavior
    function, is this possible using the behaviors API?
    Dreamweaver requires a behaviorFunction() function in
    behaviors, and
    returnig an empty string results in a message "The Action
    will not be
    applied".
    Is it possible to insert behaviors without a
    behaviorfunction?
    Sure I can create proxy functions that in turn call the
    actual command (eg
    alert()) but this seems a lot of overhead to put into the
    document.

    Yes i have the manual in front of me, i'm building a behavior
    to call
    commands in the AIR runtime, the air object is just available
    in the
    document when the AIRAliases.js is included, it doesn't need
    a "helper"
    function.
    So what i'm doing now is inserting a proxy function to call
    the original
    function, return the name of the proxy function from
    behaviorFunction and
    wrap the call, that just seems like a lot of overhead.
    Joris
    function AIR_exec(cmdName) { //v1.0
    if(typeof air != 'Object'){
    alert('ERROR: AIR object not loaded, please include
    AIRAliases.js');
    } else {
    var cmd = 'air.'+cmdName+'(';
    for(var i=1; i<arguments.length; i++){
    cmd += (i==1) ? arguments
    : ','+arguments;
    cmd += ')'
    eval(cmd);
    //Return the name of the function that we want to be inserted
    into the
    user's document.
    function behaviorFunction(){
    return "AIR_exec";
    //Returns the actual function call string that will be
    inserted into the
    event handler
    function applyBehavior() {
    addAIRAliases();
    return
    "AIR_exec('trace',"+document.theForm.traceMessage.value+")";

  • [SOLVED]hddtemp without sudo

    Hello!
    Is there anyway of getting hddtemp to work without having to key in the password? I have tried adding
    shylock ALL = NOPASSWD: /usr/sbin/hddtemp
    Also tried:
    %hwmon ALL = NOPASSWD: /usr/sbin/hddtemp
    What I'm trying to do is making an alias like I did with gpu temp
    alias gpu?='nvclock -i | grep temp'
    For Hddtemp as well. Now my only option left is to echo my password and feed it to sudo, which is not a good idea I think. Any help?

  • [SOLVED] Vimperator 2.0 CSS file to colorize the status bar

    With Vimperator's new stable release of 2.0, the old CSS file that controls the status line doesn't work anymore.
    I had a lot of trouble fixing it. I looked up the names of a lot of items and converted the old scheme. That wasn't enough, so I copied the default css into my css file (at the top) and changed everything in there too.
    Now I have a css file that is huge and has lots of duplicate data. It also has a white line between status bar and command line that I can't get rid of, and when you enter a : command the : is black on white, instead of red on gray like the rest of the line (there must be more items, I think I used an old CSS scheme (there wasn't one in the trunk)).
    Anyway, I wonder if this can be made simpler and it'd be awesome if the missing stuff above can be added too. And hopefully someone can benefit of the below CSS anyway.
    What it does: make the background light gray, give the status (top) line a dark gray top border, give status bar regular weight black text, and the command bar bold red text.

    @anrxc: I see, thanks!
    I didn't notice any speed difference between 2.0 and 1.2.
    Here is the colorscheme I used to get the same effect as above, everything works now:
    I changed some unrelated things and it gave some warning so I commented those out.

  • [SOLVED] systemd: Launch helper exited with unknown return code1

    Why might I be seeing messages like the following when trying to set up systemd?
    [root@blah ~]# hostnamectl set-hostname foobar
    Failed to issue method call: Launch helper exited with unknown return code 1
    EDIT: The solution for me was to remove sysvinit and initscripts and go for pure systemd.

    Yeah, I already found that post but the solution is not there. I'm not trying to use echo to set hostname manually, I'm trying to see why my hostnamectl command (and other *ctl comands) doesn't work, and there's no solution on that thread, just a workaround.
    I have systemd 195 and polkit 0.107 installed.
    EDIT: I replaced sysvinit with systemd-sysvcompat; then enabled syslog-ng, NetworkManager, and cronie services using systemctl enable; then I uninstalled initscripts. I'm not sure where during that process the commands started working, but they work now. But, that doesn't help people trying to migrate without having to replace sysvinit or remove initscripts first.
    This is a problem because the wiki explicitly says to migrate rc.d settings to the new files used by systemd. However, since the *ctl commands don't work at this point, it's impossible for the user to know how to make the config files manually without intimate knowledge of their formats without using *ctl commands.
    For example, how is one supposed to complete step one on the following wiki section? https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Sy … stallation
    As you can see in those instructions, there is no information on how to create the new config files other than using *ctl commands, which don't even work at that stage. Some of the examples show a sample file, but the problematice ones are the ones that don't show a sample file.
    For example, how do you make /etc/adjtime without timedatectl?
    The wiki says that timedatectl [...] "will generate /etc/adjtime automatically; no further configuration is required", but then the Failed message in my original post is displayed.
    I think I will change the wiki to offer a better walk through when I get the chance to migrate to systemd on my desktop which has many daemons and modules.
    the same problem here....

  • [SOLVED] Need some help getting the sound to work again

    Recently I changed the motherboard and CPU to an AM3 platform, everything works with my previous setup except sound.
    Reinstalling alsa-utils and rebooting had absolutely no effect. Google didn't help either.

    Capabilities: <access denied>
    Kernel modules: snd-hda-intel
    The motherboard documentation refers to it as "VIA VTI708S".
    VLC complains about alsa-lib. Reinstalling it also didn't help.

    Damn ASUS font... It's "VIA VT1708S" (number one, not the letter "i") !  Duh. No wonder Google couldn't find any info.
    Still, any ideas ? Or would you just rather let me squirm a little and diagnose the problem myself ?

    sudo modprobe snd-hda-intel
    (I think it's what you tried to tell me, igndenok)
    Great. It took the bulk of my day trying to figure out how to get this thing to work.
    VolWheel is now set to adjust "Master Front" (it was previously set to "Master" with the old motherboard) and the Sonata volume bar apparently works too, just like I wanted (adjusting the PCM volume by default). Good. Great ! Now I just need to set the "snd-hda-intel" module to load at boot so I don't have to type "sudo modprobe snd-hda-intel" all the time and this thread can be considered SOLVED.
    sudo nano /etc/rc.conf
    ...and add the following:
    MODULES="... snd-hda-intel ..."
    (also removed snd-ac97-codec from the list because that's what the old mobo used)
    THANKS FOR ALL YOUR HELP !
    PS: Just out of curiosity, why is it called "snd-hda-intel" ? Why intel ? The CPU is AMD, the chipset is Nvidia nForce, sound is VIA...
    Anyone know ? I'll subscribe to this topic just in case anyone knows. Thanks again.

  • [ solved ] nomodset, need help using this

    So I have Windows 7 and Ubuntu installed on my newish Pavilion d6. I had to follow these instruction to get it working with Ubuntu:
    http://www.adminscode.com/ubuntu-instal … ystem.html
    No other distro including Arch will curently let me boot on this machine. I get halfway through the boot process and then a black screen.
    I have Arch on a usb stick that boots fine on my desktop so I know the img on it is fine. When the arch boot screen pops up, I tab on the first arch boot option and add "nomodset" to the end of the line. Is this wrong?
    My goal is to install Arch and then the ATI drivers from the catalyst repo. Judging by the above instructions for Ubuntu this should work on Arch if I can just get it to boot up. Any help would be appreciated, I'm sure I'm just adding the boot option incorrectly.
    * My apologies. I appear to have fat fingers. Marked as solved
