[solved] Warcraft 3 freezes when tabbing out and in again
Hello!
I'm using dwm and running Warcraft 3 Frozen Throne via Wine is no problem. But when I change the view from i.e. 1 (where Warcraft is running) to 2 and back to 1, the title says "Warcraft III" but the window does not load. When I exit the window, all I got in my terminal is:

I don't think that is helpful… anyone knows how to fix that problem? Or any suggestions?
I have no clue…
(appended HKEY in wine regedit, so that the game runs always with -opengl)
One more thing… when I run the game with the -window option, I can tab in and out as often as I want but I got huge problems with mouse scrolling ingame (top, down scrolling).

EDIT: Fixed via winecfg, emulating virtual screen. Warcraft III needs that focus! :D Whatever… it works.

I have (nLited) WinXP for games. But WC3 works fine with Wine, that's why I want to play it with Linux. It's faster just click a shortcut without rebooting.

Let me guess: You are using hardware acceleration set to "Emulation" and Driver emulation with alsa.
For some reason WarCraft III doesn't like those (Hardware acceleration in particular...) Set Hardware acceleration to Basic or Full and the game will launch...
It's set to "Full". And as I said, game launches but freezes after a few secs. But music continues even if a screen is frozen.

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
Step 1
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
Enable guest logins and log in as Guest. For instructions, launch the System Preferences application, select Help from the menu bar, and enter “Set up a guest account” (without the quotes) in the search box.
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your personal files or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem(s)?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault in Mac OS X 10.7 or later, then you can’t enable the Guest account. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
Step 2
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. The instructions provided by Apple are as follows:
Be sure your Mac is shut down.
Press the power button.
Immediately after you hear the startup tone, hold the Shift key. The Shift key should be held as soon as possible after the startup tone, but not before the tone.
Release the Shift key when you see the gray Apple icon and the progress indicator (looks like a spinning gear).
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including wireless networking on certain Macs.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Note: If FileVault is enabled under Mac OS X 10.7 or later, you can’t boot in safe mode.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem(s)?
After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of steps 1 and 2. -

It lights up initially for a split second when I push power button, but does not continue to boot up. When ac adaptor is put in it glows blue like it is supposed to. Any suggestions?i'm going to try to see if a different ac adaptor will work hopefully that solves the issue.

ITunes Freezing when I try and Close it
I just downloaded iTunes 7 for my Windows PC and it constantly freezes when I try and shut it down. This problem only happens when I am in the middle of playing a song and I try to shut iTunes down. What happens is the windows Dr. Watson error message comes up and asks me if I want to send the error. Does anybody else have this problem? If so any ideas on how to fix it?

Windows XP ProI'm running XP and, after upgrading to iTunes 7, I'm finding it freezes often, too. And crashes, with the option box to send an error report soon following. The kicker is that, after this, I've been getting a "blue screen of death". Upon rebooting, Windows sends an error report concerning the "blue screen", indicating that it's some kind of unidentified driver that's causing the crash -- something that was NOT happening prior to installing iTunes 7. So, yeah, I'D like an answer, TOO.

What gives? I uncheck "Reopen windows when logging out" and it still goes back to the prev. sessions windows. Is there a fix for this?
I unchecked " Restore windows when quitting and re-opening apps." in the prefs. and still it goes back to the prev windows sessions when I uncheck "Reopen windows when logging out"

HT2638 Iphoto freezes when I try and delete a large amount of photos
Iphoto freezes when I try and delete a large amount of photos. I have tried all of the first aid options. Can I only delete small batches? I am trying to organize and edit my 16K + library and deleting small batches is very time consuming. And iphoto is running very slow... Is there simply better software for a large library or tips to erase these photos?
Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In Library Manager it's the FIle -> Rebuild command)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

when apple iPhone 4s battery completely drain out and recharge again,no out going or incoming call can be sent or received until rest the phone completly. Do we have any solution for this?
The problem was only for calls and network and other functionlities were working fine. So i did reset through settings-general-Reset-Reset all settings and re tried then it worked fine. But this is only a temporary solution need a permanent fix.

When tab out of an autoSubmit field I lose focus.

I'm using jDev 11.1.2.1.0
I'm facing the following situation. In the employees VO there is a transient attribute which is actually the salary * commissionPct.
In the jspx, in order to make things interactive, salary and commisionPct have autoSubmit=true. When I change either of the fields the transient column refreshes accordingly. Up to here everything is fine.
The problem is that when I make a change to either of these fields and tab out the focus is lost. This is very annoying. It happens only in salary and commissionPct fields.
Is there any way to avoid this??

I actually use PPR in the employee Iterator, and this is because there is a master-detail functionality in the page. Suppose I have a case similar to department-employees case.
If I remove the PPR then the master and detail are not synchronized.
At the bottom you see the sums filed which is actually the product of salary and commissionPct.

i get my blackberry bold 9900 OS 7.0.0
it freezes a lot when whatsapp get in use, receive or sent, but when i close the application and restart the device, everything get back in exellent condition
the whatsapp application, is stuck in 2.9.571 version, it shows that i have to update it and when i do the update nothing happened still on the old version with a lot of freezes when i use it.
NB: this application effect the device with freezes since ever, before it get stuck in that version.

LOV not validating from the list when tabbed out
Hi,
I have an item attached to an LOV generated dynamically based on another LOV. When I change the value in the parent LOV, and just click on the child item(which still has old value) and tab out, it does not validate from the list which has new values. The old value in the field is actually wrong one. However, it shows new values when I click on list of values for the child item.
I am also setting the property VALIDATE_FROM_LIST to PROPERTY_TRUE. The code to set_lov_property to the dynamic query is generic and is used by both key-listval and when-new-item-instance triggers. Except in key-listval I added list_values.
I am using forms 6i version.
Can any one tell me where I am doing wrong?

Its because the item is not validating again, as there is no change in its contents. So you have to tell oracle to validate that item. For that in the WHEN_VALIDATE_ITEM trigger of the parent item, write,
SET_ITEM_PROPERTY('<block_name>.<child_item_name>', ITEM_IS_VALID, PROPERTY_FALSE);So when you tab out from the child item, the oracle will validate that item even if there is no change in the data.

How to fire valueChangeEvent when tabs out for inputComboboxListOfValues

In my page it has one inputComboboxListOfValues field, it can be entered into a new value or select one from LOV, now I met one issue that when enter into a new value and tabs out, it will open search popup window, but if I close popup window(ok or close button), it will return and lose focus and it can't fire valueChangeEvent, but in valueChangeListener() I need to enable/disable other fields. ITunes freezes when I try and signout
Hi all,
On my PC I open itunes and input my password and everything is fine. However I want to access a diferent itunes account but when I try and logout it freezes everytime.
I have tried uninstaling all apple software and reinstalling itunes but the problem still occurs.
Is there anything else I can try?

Count me in on this problem too! Since the 10.5 update, our iTunes has been locked into my partner's Apple ID and every attempt to sign out or sign in with my ID results in iTunes freezing. Then I have to force-quit iTunes and kill off all related Apple processes before I can run iTunes again. iTunes works fine for my partner in all aspects. We've tried so many things all to no avail.
Here's our list of failed resolutions:
- contacted Apple's online support and was given several of the suggestions listed below
- Safe mode
- Creating a new iTunes library (that was a headache when you've got lots of CD's imported into iTunes)
- Repairing iTunes/re-installing/updating
- Uninstalling completely as per a recommendation from an Apple Genius in my local store (see the tech article on that annoying process) and then reinstalling afresh
- Going through my PC's registry bit-by-bit and deleting specfic Apple entries (again, as per an article listed in tech forums)
- I have allowed iTunes through Windows Firewall
- I have "told" Avast Antivirus to ignore iTunes and let it do its thing as well
And so now after putting up with this since December 2011, we're still stuck with the problem and Apple don't seem to know how to fix it.
My ID works fine on our devices, but I just can't get into it on our PC.
Our specs are:
- Windows Vista32 SP2
- AMD Athlon64 X2 Dual CPU [email protected]
- 2Gb RAM
- NVidia Geforce 9600GT 1GB
- iTunes is installed on C: Drive, iTunes Media/Library is installed on external Seagate 2Gb HDD
(and I have tried it on both drives to see if that makes any difference, but unfotunately it didn't)
Any ideas or suggestions would be so majorly appreciated!

G5 locks up when logging out and other concern
This has become a problem over the past year. I know that it is an old single processor, first of the Power Macs, legacy machine and OS. I have gone through all various check system/disk evolutions with Apple and TechTool Utilities.
Also, when I have a software glitch, I can never get the Send To Apple report to "send". I get a message that reads something along the line of 'not being able to connect to Apple'. Why, the legacy problem again? If so, I am suprized that I get iTunes and Safari updates.I don't think it has anything to do with it being a "legacy" Mac. I have a Power Mac G5, running Leopard, and it runs quite well.
Locking up when logging out is usually caused by a process that is running and the OS is not able to quit it. It may be related to an app, or it may be a background process. If you restart (or log out and log in) and then immediately log out, does it lock up?
As a test, you can try creating a new user account in System Preferences Accounts pane. Log out of your usual account and log in to the new account. Do some things you normally do, then try logging out. Does it lock up? -
