[Solved] Why I Can Move to Arch
I'm really trying to move to Arch. I'm on Debian Sid currently. I want the latest and greatest packages, and a minimal, lightweight distro. So Arch seems like a dream for what I want. But, theres a few things holding me back. One, is the mesa-git packages that aren't as recent as Xorg Edgers. I'm currently using the Xorg Edgers PPA on my Debian Sid system, to get the latest and greatest libgl packages. The mesa-git package on here is almost a month old (6/29) compared to the mesa-git release on Xorg Edgers (7/21). The most important thing to me, is the latest and greatest OpenGL packages, since I do alot of gaming. So this is holding me back right now.
Also, the AUR doesn't include the snapshot builds of evilwm, or simple terminal. I use evilwm as my window manager and simple terminal as my terminal emulator. They are both minimal, and the most lightweight window manager and terminal emulator I could find. The official and AUR repositories don't even have simple terminal. This is also holding me back. I could build simple terminal myself, but I don't know how to get the snapshot builds of evilwm without using the PPA for it. So I'm kind of in a rut right now. Any suggestions?

The st-git AUR page labels the package as "st-git 1:20130907.210dda9-1". So I thought it was from 2013. It also says it was last updated on "2013-09-29 03:05".
There's no binary package in the AUR, it's just a PKGBUILD - and that PKGBUILD has been updated on 2013-09-29.

Okay, I just scrimmed threw the AUR page, and I think I understand how it works. When I download a -git package, and I run pacman -Syu, or pacaur, it will go out to the git page of the package and update it accordingly? This would also mean I need the actual git package right?
No, pacman updates prebuilt packages from official and unofficial repos. Stuff from the AUR is built with makepkg.
Yes, git should be a makedependency for -git packages.

While watching an iTunes movie from my Apple TV, why does my movie stop playing at the 1 hour mark? I'm assuming I have a setting causing this to happen, but I have no idea what setting needs to be changed. Can someone help me?
It's right at an hour (consistently), but the computer goes to sleep prior to that. It's as if iTunes goes to sleep. Also, it wasn't always this way. Originally, the movies played through without interruption. At some point, I guess a setting was changed, and now I only get an hour. Also. My energy settings are set to go to sleep at 10 minutes.

When I try to include a white and black photo in a iMovie the result is a black totaly black picture which does not show in the movie. Why? Can it be fixed?
The ! turns up when iPhoto loses the connection between the thumbnail in the iPhoto Window and the file it represents.
Other than that, what version of iPhoto do you have? Assuming 09 or later try
Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

If this is with only one Order, check goods movements actually done or not?
If this problem is with other Orders as well (same Order Type), then with the T.Code; OPL8.

If you live in a country where the feature is not available, you will not be able to rent movies. Not all iTunez content is available worldwide.

I bought a HD and the Itunes Stores say that the movie (Pretty Women) has Itunes Extras. Why I can not find it? It is a mistake from Apple? What happen if I buy the movie because the Extras and now I can not watch it? I have an Ipad last generation.

When I go to AppleTV, I select the PC and click on it...It start to open the Library, sending a messege "Charging Library from Victor Medellin" (the name of my PC) but never show it. You can only watch the movie on the device you rented it on. Here's a snippet from the Apple Support site (italics mine):
If you download a rented movie on your computer: You can transfer it to a device such as your Apple TV (1st generation), iPhone, iPad, or iPod if it’s a standard-definition film (movies in HD can only be watched on your computer, iPad, iPhone 4 or later, iPod touch (4th generation or later), or Apple TV). Once you move the movie from your computer to a device, the movie will disappear from your computer's iTunes library. You can move the movie between devices as many times as you wish during the rental period, but the movie can only exist on one device at a time.
If you download a rented movie on your iPhone 4 or later, iPad, iPod touch (4th generation or later), or Apple TV: It is not transferable to any other device or computer.

[SOLVED-ish] I can't get my RTL8188CE card to work
I did a research about the Realtek 8188CE wireless chipset that my Toshiba Satellite C660-2UU the school gave me has. I know it already has its flaws because it works generally bad under windows, but on Debian with the drivers from the .deb package in the non-free repo it works at least as well as in windows. Then why all these problem on arch? I'm just curious, I think it's because of the more updated kernel but I'm not sure. By the way I tried with the arch ISO to use it and it connects fine to my WPA2-PSK network using the tools in the live iso, but if I ping a website I get 30% packet loss and the ping is 40-50 but on 1 every 3 packets it jumps to 1000.
Do you think it's possible to do basic web browsing and downloading of small stuff at around 100kb/s with this packet loss and ping? This wi-fi thing really bugs me. I also have a few other sitecom adapters but they all have an unsupported / badly supported chipset. Do I have serious bad luck or wifi is a big issue on arch? I've been using on my tower workstation for a few days and it works perfect. Of course, I don't have wifi on this machine xD
I don't want to install on my laptop just to find out it sucks because the wifi is really impossible to use.

I'll change it now. I just realized it sounds rough, but I was mad because I couldn't get it work, it isn't anyone's fault, sorry
EDIT: I got it to work at an usable state! By using the 8192cu driver on the AUR and the suggestions in the comments about disabling power-save, I got it to be usable. It now has up to 8% packet loss, not 30-40% like before, and the ping spikes are now 300-400 ms and less frequent, not 1000-1200ms. It's not working really well but now I can at least surf the web. Thank you all for the patience.
EDIT 2: after testing more I realized it still disconnects every few seconds when I'm far from the AP. However, when connected, I still have very strong signal. If I use it on windows or another distro it doesn't disconnect. I tried compiling the driver from realtek by myself using the istructions in the second post but I don't know how to fix some compile errors, so I decided I'll stick with my usb dongle. Maybe someone will find a better solution.

Hi there. For anyone searching, here are the results of my research and corresponding advice back to Sony...
Thanks, your comments looked correct but did not solve my problem. You may be interested to know after much testing and research, I was able to ascertain that some of the camera's AVCHD settings iMovie cannot see at all (only some, which made it even harder to figure out!). Plus, if you have recorded movie clips in more than one format to the memory card (MP4 or any one of the AVCHD's), iMovie cannot see any of the AVCHD's.
Bottom line - forgo the benefits of AVCHD on the Sony NEX-5N and just use MP4 until Apple makes it easier. -

When requesting help you should always include the make/model of the computer and/or monitor. This information is necessary for us to review the specifications of them.
There can be many reasons for this happening. The may be another version on the computer, for example. There may be a conflict with one of the components, also. Once we know the OS we can look at the situation more closely.

i downloaded 3 songs to my pc and sync'd my ipod and the songs do not tranfer. is this related to not having the proper itunes version vs ios? I cannot get the songs to sync, but I can move other songs to different playlists and they sync fine...any ideas what's wrong?

I have a couple of steps for you to try in order to get those songs transferred to your iPod touch. First, make sure all of your software is updated with the latest versions. If the songs were downloaded from iTunes, you will also want to delete the songs from your library and then download them again from the list of past purchases on your iTunes account. If you try a sync after those two steps and are still seeing the issue, then I would like you to try syncing the iPod by setting it to manually manage. An article outlining more information on manually managing your iPod sync can be found here:
