[SOLVED] WINE 1.3.27 (today) and EVE Incarna

Today, after updating WINE from 1.3.26 to 1.3.27 -- EVE Incarna encounters a wine fatal error and closes, after less than 10 secs loading.
What happens: The EVE Incarna startup screen loads first, then crashes with a wine fatal error.

I didn't try the virtual desktop idea yet.
What I did do is when the upgrade didn't work I removed the .wine folder, and removed the wine program, and tried again with a fresh install.
Same issue. (I used winetricks to get the dx3d, tacoma font, and set the other settings as describe on WineHQ App)
I will try later tomorrow to use the virtual desktop idea and let you know. In the meantime, we will see if anyone else is having issues.

[SOLVED] wine arial font only bold and italic

I have installed office 2003 in wine. Some one send me a document in arial regular font. It looks fine in winxp, but when I open with the word by wine the all the arial font looks bold and italic.
I have also tried with winetricks corefonts but nothing changed.

The problem got solved when I copy pasted the fonts from /usr/share/fonts/TTF to wine fonts folder.
Now arial looks fine as of windows.

[SOLVED] WINE and Eve Online

First off, I am not using 64bit.
Lately, running Wine and Eve-Online is fine.
However, when I Quit from the game menu...it freezes.
I actually have to x-it-out (the wine window), and a window pops up with
"A simulated logout was in the process and is not responding".. or some such thing
and then I can terminate it and get my desktop back.
I've seen several posts about this, but no resolve.

And if you didn't set up Find My iPhone, or it's not appearing in the Find My iPhone section of iCloud.com, then there's no way you can wipe the iPhone remotely. Depending on your OS, you should be able to use;

Some have found that the page may turn up blank to start with, so it may be necessary to reload the page.
Others have found that it may depend on browser. Specifically, a switch from Safari has solved it in one case.

[SOLVED] Wine suddenly broken

Ok first of all I don't know if this is related to the pacman issues that has been reported.
Did an upgrade today wich included an upgrade of wine. Half way through wine it throws an error and doesn't complete the upgrade. It appears as if pacman has removed wine and then not been able to install the newer version of it because now I can't start my apps anymore due to some files missing. Any ideas?
Edit: Ok, so a pacman -Sf wine solved the issue for now it seems.

But I don't think it's causing problems as it's part of Kwin (the KDE windows manager) and if I'm correct Xmonad is another WM.
So I don't think it really has an effect. I think it matters only if you use Kwin and it's effects.
Yes, xmonad is another window manager. But I doubt it has anything to do with this konqueror problem, since it worked perfectly until some update a few days back. Unfortunately I could not find a way to figure out which packages had been updated in the last days (man pacman is silent about that).
Maybe check you Konqueror settings. Or your windows management settings.
In Konqueror look at performance and web settings.
But I can't help you with windows manager.
Again, I doubt that any settings are to blame, because until that ominous update everything worked like a charm.
But I am curious why do you even use Konqueror I'm a KDE user and I don't use it. mostly because Flash can be a bit of a pain sometimes working and sometimes not.
The flash problems are annoying, but other than that Konqueror is the least annoying browser I know of. It is configurable without headaches (it has MENUES for easy configuration), the design is more pleasant than Firefox, and it does not send information about my browsing habits to Google or any other companies.

it has been into recovery mode. connecting to itunes will solve your problem. if it didnt work connect it itunes and restore your iphone.

In an SSRS 2008 r2 report, I want to set the default value to yesterday's date in a parameter called startdate. In a parameter called enddate, I want to set the default parameter value to todays date.
I have tried the following to set the default values:
=today()
and
=DateAdd("d".-1.today()).
The above does not work.
Thus would you let me know how to set the default parameter values of start date to yesterday's date and the enddate to today's date?

Are you trying to strip off time part?
if yes try like
=Today().ToString("mm/dd/yyyy")
or whatever format you want
similarly
=DATEADD(DateInterval.Day,-1,Today()).ToString("mm/dd/yyyy")

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.

Strangely enough, putting my laptop into Hibernate mode solved the problem. It didn't even take a reboot.

[SOLVED] Wine Key Errors.

Hi, I was running a full system upgrade earlier today, and it was upgrading wine when my laptop battery died. Now, wine has been interrupting my full system upgrade, so I attempted to remove and reinstall. Now I can't get it installed, and I am presented with the errors:
error: wine: signature from "Sven-Hendrik Haase <[email protected]>" is invalid
error: failed to commit transaction (invalid or corrupted package (PGP signature))
Errors occurred, no packages were upgraded.
I have tried setting SigLevel = None for all my repos, but to no avail. Any help would be appreciated, as I rely on wine daily. Thank you!

I think it should be Siglevel = Never (see here). However: Have you tried to change the keyserver (see link before, too)?

[SOLVED] KDE won't automount USB and optical devices

After a recent update KDE stopped being willing to automount e.g. USB devices such as sticks, HDs, cameras, GPS etc.
My ArchLinux is updated today and is thus on kernel 3.6.6, My wife's ArchLinux, which is still on kernel 3.5.5, has no problems automounting, so it must be due to a recent change, but which?
When I insert e.g. a USB stick, I get the 'Available Devices' popup, but when I select 'Open with File Manager' I get the following message at the bottom of the popup: 'Could not mount the following device: xxxxx' followed by 'An unspecified error has occurred.: Not Authorized'
I'm still on sysvinit but would like to switch to systemd, because I have the haunch that switching to systemd would cure the problem. So far my attempts to switch to systemd has failed (see my woes in this thread https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php … 6#p1193076
I have tried to install 'udiskie' but that did not help.
I could give many more details but which? I'll supply any information required as we go.
Any help and/or pointer will be much appreciated.
