1.33 GB Page-outsFollow these instructions to uninstall MacKeeper. They have been tested with the most recent version of MacKeeper (v 2.8). Earlier versions than the one released in 2012 require more extensive work to uninstall all its components.
The effects of having actually used MacKeeper to do anything are a completely different matter. The fastest way to take an exquisitely designed and painstakingly engineered Mac and make it run like a steaming pile of dung is to install and use such ill-conceived "cleaning" or "security" products. This is just one example of a broad category of time- and money-wasters capable of causing damage that can only be rectified by reinstalling OS X, restoring from a backup, or completely erasing your system and rebuilding it from the ground up. Never install such junk on a Mac.
If you used MacKeeper to encrypt any files or folders, use MacKeeper to un-encrypt them first.
Quit the MacKeeper app if it is running.
Open your Applications folder: Using the Finder's Go menu, select Applications.
Drag the MacKeeper icon from your Applications folder (not the Dock) to the Trash.
You will be asked to authenticate (twice):
You do not need to provide a reason for uninstalling it:
Just click the Uninstall MacKeeper button. You will be asked to authenticate again.
After it uninstalls you may empty the Trash and restart your Mac. All that will remain is an inert log file that does nothing but occupy space on your hard disk. -

I am trying to open a document created in Excel in Windows on my Excel 2011 for mac copy. The issue seems to be related to using the Macros and VB associated with the .xlsm doc. The specific error I get in Excel is:

When I try to open it in an Excel web app, or other online excel environment (whether using Firefox or Chrome) I get this message:

few other forums suggested an issue with adobe add-ins, but I don't show one in the Excel>Tools>Addins dialogue.
Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks!The same error message will result from a problem in any add-ins ,thus you should investigate other installed add-ins. It is worth the effort to try to start your excel program in safe mode. About how to use safe mode in Mac OS, Please refer to :http://support.microsoft.com/kb/892428
If this issue is gone in this situation, try to disable add-ins in excel.

I have a mac book air runnin 10.7.4 and i have also office 2011.
the company have windows users with office 2007 and 2010.
Excel with pivot tables made at office 2010 cannot be used at office for mac 2011.
Any idea?

Does Lion interfere with Excel 2011 language support for Korean, Chinese?
I was able to use Excel 2011 for several languages including Korean and Chinese when I was on Snow Leopard.
Now, after upgrading to Lion, I can't figure out how to get that functionality.
I have used the Microsoft Language Register to get the Japanese character set to appear correctly. What do I need to do to get the other character sets to appear?I'm copying data out of a multi language database and pasting into excel. On Snow Leopard I was able to paste Korean and Chinese characters into excel. Now, I get a box with a small in the place of Chinese/Korean characters.
I'm sure this is a matter of just not having a setting set properly, but I can't find it and I can't find anything online about it. -

Upgraded to Excel for Mac 2011 (v.14.4.7) and cannot sort data. Have read instructions but keep getting error message "missing column/row name"
Tried doing it with box checked "My list has headers" and with the box unchecked....same non-result and error message.

Because even after 14 years MS has failed to add arabic support to most Office products for Mac. Instead use Open/LibreOffice or Numbers. -
Since yesterday all my usual .xls files will not open (Office for Mac 2011). CAN open .xlxs files. Default 'open with' is Microsoft Excel.app. No software updates done yesterday or the day before (or maybe a Silverlight or an Acrobat one by accident?). Have repaired disc permissions. HHD name is still same as it always was. What next? Thanks
PS I'm not a great techie so assume I don't know what you're talking about!You may need to rebuild permissions on your user account. To do this,boot to your Recovery partition (holding down the Command and R keys while booting) and open Terminal from the Utilities menu. In Terminal, type: ‘resetpassword’ (without the ’s), hit return, and select the admin user. You are not going to reset your password. Click on the icon for your Macs hard drive at the top. From the drop down below it select the user account which is having issues. At the bottom of the window, you'll see an area labeled Restore Home Directory Permissions and ACLs. Click the reset button there. The process takes a few minutes. When complete, restart.

I’m using excel 2011 for Mac and my OS is Yosemite. After a recent update from Microsoft I’ve stopped seeing what I am typing in the cell until I press enter. It appears in the formula bar but not in the cell. How can I change this so the characters show in the cells as I type them?

Excel 2011 for Mac isn't displaying my graph properly.
I have an excel spreadsheet that I use to track all my territory sales. There is a graph on the spreadsheet that reflects the numbers of the specific territory when I filter to that specific territory. Though it works on excel for windows it is not working on Excel 2011 for mac. Any thoughts?

Parentheses for negative numbers in Excel 2011
I couldn't find an appropriate section for this question. Please forgive me if I posted it in the wrong place.
I've been using Excel for Mac 2011 since it came out. Up until I updated to Yosemite, formatting negative numbers with parentheses appeared in the drop down menu, i.e., right click to get format cells, click "number" tab on top, click "number" on left. There is a dialog as to how you want negative numbers formatted. Parentheses used to be an option but no more. I attached a screen shot. Help!Same issue here with Excel 2011, problem started with the Yosemite installation and was not fixed with 10.10.1 nor the latest Microsoft update.
It's a big problem for accountants!
On the Microsoft forum this gentleman replied with a workaround but it's a hassle to have to do this for each new spreadsheet.

If you go to the dialog shown in Phillip's post and select "Custom" on the left side, you can enter this to get the parenthesis back:
$#,##0;[Red](-$#,##0)
Or this to use square brackets:
$#,##0;[Red]"["-$#,##0"]"
The format means use $#,##0 for positive numbers and use [-$#,##0] in red for negative numbers.
You could remove the hyphen too and just do this:
$#,##0;[Red]"["$#,##0"]"
I hope Apple takes note and pushes a fix for us. -

Cant print black from excel for mac 2011 anymore only colour
I can't print black from excel for mac 2011 anymore only colour. Can print normally from all other programs. Will not work from excel. Will only print colour. Have reinstalled printer drivers with no difference. Brand new mac so should be no font issues. I have to screen print all excel documents to print. Wont work if saved as PDF either. Am looking for suggestions. Have checked all preferences and settings. Tried fine and fast - no difference. Comes out blank. Will only print colour. HELP!
I have a variation of this same problem. I maintain a bunch of Microsoft Excel 97-2004 Workbooks. Some of these documents print in colour (actually a light grey colour), while others print in black ink. I cannot discern the difference between the documents and why the difference in printing.
