Some account work some dont
have exchange 2000, why do some email accounts work and some dont, using imap and exchange config. Error i am getting is user name and password not recognised. The accounts work in entourage

Like the title says, some of my apps work, some pop up for a second, then close down.
I think I might have an idea why -- my iTunes account was linked to my old work e-mail. I've since changed jobs, so had to change the e-mail. Everything worked fine until an incident occurred, and my so-called friend reset the settings on my phone. Since then, I've had all kinds of problems. This is the last one. I might be wrong, but it seems like the apps I had installed with my old e-mail account don't work, and the ones with the new one work fine. That's probably not totally correct, but it does seem like the older apps are the troublesome ones.
I just tried updating to the latest OS, but that didn't seem to do the trick.
I have a back up from before any of the problems started. If I restored from that, would it work? Any other ideas?Reinstalled 10.5.2 combo update and repaired permissions, Xcode now works. Not sure if it was the fix, or if my 3rd time installing XCode was the charm, but I'll assume you were right .
Found online other users are having problems with Schoolhouse in Leopard, so I guess that's in the dev's hands now.

Some sites work some sites dont
Just an observation really, I would moan but turning the router off'n'on sorts it.
(infinty 2, 72mbit/20mbit all day every day no question - well done BT)
Telegraph, i09, bbc food, ebay and a load of other sites stopped working (hanging on load or would only half load content)
Yahoo, google, bbc news and other sites worked fine.
This issue effected mainstream sites not just obscure blogs hosted on ADSL copper in the middle of the autralian outback on a 486.
This effected all devices connected in my home - switching to mobile hotspot from my phone meant the sites worked fine.
Restarted the router and everything worked again.
Just wondering what could make a router/ISP manifest that behaviour.Hello BJ.
Although possibly not related to your problem, I will remind you that the version of Firefox you are using at the moment has been discontinued and is no longer supported. Furthermore, it has known bugs and security problems. I urge you to update to the latest version of Firefox, for maximum stability, performance, security and usability. As for your problem, make sure Javascript is enabled: http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/JavaScript#Enabling_and_disabling_JavaScript
But you may be having a problem with some extension or plugin that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal? -
Dropped my laptop...some things work, some don't...
Hello all. Thanks in advance for any help. I have what I believe is the original macbook pro 15" aluminum model. I've had it for maybe 3 years and it's had some issues. The dvd drive hasn't worked for years, I've had to replace the logic board, keyboard, etc. Then a few months ago it started an interesting behavior where it would freeze up when I moved it. Sometimes it would be fine, but other times I'd pick it up, move to another room, sit down, and it would be completely frozen. Needless to say, it's been through a lot.
But the most recent development is what's giving me problems now. The laptop recently fell off the ironing board onto a concrete floor. It started right back up, but it's behaving strangely. At first, safari would crash immediately after opening. It said the flashplayer was causing a problem. So I shut off the flashplayer, and I got my browser working. What's puzzling me is I'm wondering if I somehow jarred RAM loose or in some other way damaged the memory? For example, I can view videos in Quicktime. But if I try to play the same file in VLC media player, VLC crashes much like safari was doing at first. I was thinking maybe VLC allocates more memory? Or if I try to run multiple applications at once, the computer becomes extremely slow and inevitably one or more will quit. Even now, typing this with only safari open, I'm getting the spinning beach ball every few lines and have to wait to continue typing.
So, I'm pretty clueless about the technical aspects of these things, but does my theory make any sense? Would it make sense for me to open it up and try to see if anything inside is out of place? (I'm certainly not worried about voiding any warranty, and I've already opened it up to put in a new keyboard.) Is it possible that the RAM could've been damaged with everything else in tact? If that were the case, could I just buy new memory but leave everything else as is? As I mentioned, I'm a bit clueless, but thanks for any help or theories.Thanks for your input. I removed the RAM, put it back in, made sure the connections appeared tight, etc. The computer seems to be behaving in the same way. I took a look on the inside. Nothing else appears broken or dislodged.
As I mentioned in my initial post, my superdrive hasn't worked for a long time. That means the hardware test is not an option, correct?

Having problem with my vibration some times work some times not work

The problem now has changed. I just realized that if the bluetooth is not working and I put the pc to sleep when I start it again in most of the times the problem is gone, it may start working right away or even some seconds after it left the sleep mode. I tried checking it a few times and it happened 4 out of 5 times I tried. But after the Bluetooth starts working again if I turn the computer off (shut down) and turn it back on later or even if I restart the laptop, then the problem starts happening all over again, until I put it to sleep and turn it on from spleep mode. This problem is really weird to me.
I am thinking that maybe there is some feature in the windows 8 that is not allowing the bluetooth to start when the computer starts from shut down or from restart, but that doesn't block the bluetooth when it is put to sleep.
Does anybody has any idea of what is going on and how to solve it?

Some songs work some don't - but they all work on itunes

The fromat of the sonf might be wrong for your iPod. Either update you iPod's software or try changing the format of the song: Go to the location of the song in your computer(Explorer folder) . Click "view", "choose details", and tick the "type" box. Rename the songs that don't work only changing the letters after the ".". Change it to mp3.

Some browsers work, some don't.
I'm very new to OSX (just now finally bit the bullet). Currently, I have several browsers installed. Firefox, Camino, Safari and Mozilla will all connect to the internet just fine. Explorer and iCab won't connect at all. They will attempt to connect and just hang, never making a connection. iCab is my primary choice for a browser, mostly because of the links manager which I am finding very difficult to live without.

Microsoft stopped providing support for the mac version of Explorer sometime ago, so I don't know if it would be good choice. iCab on the other hand might be workable. What version are you using? You might need to upgrade which you can find at the link below.

Changing your Apple ID to your current, working email address will not create another Apple ID, it will only change it to your working email address. -

Some accounts do work, others not. I have removed the not working accounts and than added them again, didnt fix the problem. For the record; all accounts work perfectly on my other devices, Ipad and Iphone.
Yep, everything worked fine before Mavericks. I removed the account that didnt work at all and re-installed it, didnt work. All accounts work fine on my other devices like Ipad and Iphone, so it's not in the account itself.

I've been having the same problem... I went to the apple store. They weren't much help. The guy told me I need to make a genuis bar appointment and they'd likely have to replace the device (phone) at a certain cost. Determined by the tech at the time.
Doesnt sound like much fun or very cheap...
I live in Minneapolis and within the same mall as the Apple store theres a game store that said they can replace the home button for 20 dollars!! That its a loose wire and/or the spring inside doesnt work. But the warrantee their work and you cant beat the price vs apple store. They had to order some home buttons as they were out at the time so I'm going in on Sat.
Lets home theres more alternatives to these types of problems as Apple as seemed to be on their high horse about things like that a little too much lately.
I dont think you live in Minneapolis but I'd look around... It sounds like this is a common problem so you might have some luck finding someone to do it for less than 100-200 dollars that Apple wants to charge. -
When i load up Photoshop CS6 it loads up the Administrators Account for some reason and it is quiet irritating if someone can help please respond as i would like to continue using Photoshop.
If you are using someone else's computer, then you need to get the Admin to sign in so you can run PS.
If it's your own computer, then you need to know the Admin's password so you can work. Better yet, YOU need to be the Admin. -
Some accounts don't retrieve mail
Hi,
I have 4 accounts in my mail settings. Only the first 2 (.mac and another) seem to be working fine. Mail does not retrieve mail from the other 2 accounts (2 different domains). When looking at the activity window during 'get mail' I see that it checks my first domain but doesn't even looks at the other two.
I already deleted the 'envelope index' but the problems remains.
Has any one a suggestion ? I need my mails urgently...

Constant "some accounts failed to respond" following 10.3.1 update
More than a year, no problems with any of my email accounts. None.
10.3.1 comes along, and I now get the "some accounts failed to respond" message every other day. Sometimes it's a couple (out of eight) of my accounts that no longer work; at other times it's five or six.
I have to go into each account, and retype and save the password, whereupon the thing functions well for another day or two before having to go through the whole dumb rigmarole again.
Needless to say, I don't have the time, and I CERTAINLY don't have the desire, to keep retyping my passwords to get BlackBerry's basic functionality to work.
(As an aside, I have no data plan and use the Q10 only via WiFi networks. The accounts in question are MSN, Hotmail, Outlook, and Exchange.)
This is another nasty update surprise BlackBerry sprung on me recently, the debacle with the nonsense B.B.M. stickers having been the previous one.
I am really losing my patience with BlackBerry.

Regarding your specific issue with the "failed to respond" errors, I too had this issue. To resolve it, I completely deleted my accounts from the phone, rebotted, then re-added the accounts one at a time. Seemed to work for me (it's been two weeks now).. -
I tried to cram as much info as I could in Subject.
We are running Staged Migration setup still until we convert to cloud completely.
Well, it happened a few times but usually I have to wait for couple of days and then it turns out good.
I change my password on local premisses AD. Then it has to sync to Azure cloud environment, typically within 3 hrs.
I have two work laptops with 2010 Outlook and 2013 respectively. They are good.
I have two home laptops running with hard disk BIOS encryption and they are good also.
But there are two more laptops that will not acknowledge a password change. Keeps prompting it to enter it and I know it's accurate but it won't go through. I can login using same keystrokes to login.microsoftonline.com.
I tried deleting the profile and OST File on one of them, no luck.

In this case, are you working with one account, or multiple accounts?
If it's only with one account, on the two affected machines, go to Control Panel -> Credential Manager -> Windows Credentials, find and delete the Outlook Credentials, then check if the problem persists.
If you are working with multiple accounts and some work fine but some don't, maybe the password hasn't been synced to Azure cloud yet, we may need to wait for some time and check the result again.
