Some apps missing after re-instal

im not sure if this is the right spot for this, so if its not could someone redirect me.
i got a new macbook pro for school and i was gonna give my relatively new macbook (intel 1st gen i think) to my mom. it had alot of files and was slowing down a little so i transfered everything i wanted to keep and wiped it, reinstalled with the dvds following the prompts.
all said and done everything seemed fine except its missing a couple of apps.
imovie (even though the rest of ilife08 is installed)
text edit
actually i guess thats it. there might be a few more, i cant remeber if chess was on there.
anyway, rather than reinstaling everything, is there anyway to download the offical mac version of text edit... im not too worried about ilife as im sure shell upgrade to 09 anyway then everything will sort itself out on that front. ive been looking for free version but everything is either trial or its more of a coding tool only and not really for word processing.
or if reinstalation is the way to go, is there something i missed or didnt click that may have left these and other apps off the list?

you can reinstall TextEdit from the install DVD using Pacifist.

you can also reinstall just ilife and it should install imovie.
to install just ilife, open the install DVD in fnder and double-click on "install bundled software only".

I understand that after updating to Windows 8.1 you no longer have the Beats Audio software.
You should be able to download an updated audio driver from HP Pavilion 15-p011sv Software & Drivers page .
This should reinstall your Beats software.

Apps missing or not installed after update

after i updated to the last nokia firmware on my E71 some apps where not there i got an error message from the setup wizard when i was trying to set up the email client saying INSTILLATION PACKAGE NOT FOUND CHECK THAT MEMORY CARD IS INSERTED. seriously what does the memory card have to do with the setup? iv tryed to reset the phone and also iv format the memory card and iv also tryed to do this with out the memory card in the the phone the results are the same. and iv tryed to get the email app form the nokia website but it just gives me the IM APP which i also had to download from the nokia website also i still wondering about updating throught ovi suite cause the last time i did the update did not compleat and i had to get my phone flash after i did

Welcome to the Discussions.
Your girlfriend's computer is not downloading because it now lacks the essential plugin "VerifiedDownloadPlugin.plugin", which would have been in System X/Library/Internet Plug-ins. There are other essential plugins as well, and unless you did not empty the Trash, they're gone too, and you'll have other problems.
I would reinstall Safari 2, which is available only through the Tiger DVDs. In order to get to the Safari package, you'll need the brilliant programme Pacifist, which is a piece of shareware that enables you to install individual packages from the DVD.
There might be other work-arounds; but I suspect that this aptly named piece if kit will prove by far the quickest, the most reliable, and the one most likely to produce a peaceful Christmas!

Icons of some applications missing after reinstalling gnome3

I had to reinstall gnome today because I had accidently deleted all themes in /usr/share/themes and for that, gdm wasnt starting. After that everything works fine, only issue is that I cant see icons of some applications as seen below.

as you see icons of some apps like amarok, 7zipFM etc got replaced by the default icon. They used to show their normal icons before the reinstallation, and changing the icons via gnome-tweak-tool doesnt help.

Are the icons missing when you use other icon themes like the default? Have you installed "alacarte" from AUR? You can then go in and change invdividual icons. Sometimes you have to restart gnome-shell for the changes to take place. "Alt-F2 then r"

5800 - Apps missing after restore

Hello,
After my phone refuses to start up after switching on, I had to take the memory card out so it can boot up normally, turned it off and reinsert the card and it booted up okay.
I did the back up yesterday - full back up, memory card including and reformat my card and phone.
However, after the restore - I noticed quite lots of my games and apps are missing, even the application manager shows them as installed. Where have they gone to? Also the game folder have disappeared, putting half of the games back to the App folder. The App Manager is also missing a few applications such as PaintPad.
What is happening to my phone? It's quite new. How do I get the installed applications that is missing from the application folder back in the folder?
EDIT: Oh, my memory card have changed its name to No Name. How do I rename that as well?

there are certain apps and themes and such that even if they show installed are really not, you need to reinstall those again. also NEVER update your phone with the memory card in it. that is a tip for the future. some apps that came with your phone like the iplayer are a one time deal some of them you can find on the internet and redownload and some you will have to purchase. if you reformat, update your phone that is what happens. sorry mate i know no joy here but its kind of how this works.

Unable to delete some app's after lollipop update

Hi! After I updated my Z2 to lollipop today, I moved some app's to my sd card. I was not aware that it was not working properly.
Later I saw that the app's I moved cannot be opened or even deleted and when I reinstall them again they don't even show up. Can someone help me pls! I have attached a screenshot also.

I would think that your sd card it's corrupted, what if you re-install lollipop but this time clear everything

Why do all iWork '09 apps crash after Lion install?

Pages, Numbers and Keynote all crash immediately when I open them after I installed Lion. I have already installed the update posted by Apple twice but it still does exactly the same thing.

The crash report is telling you that a critical part of Pages is missing - Inventor.framework.
I'd suggest deleting your iWork '09 folder and its apps, reinstalling them from DVD or the Mac App Store and updating to iWork 9.1.
If there are any issues with this it's likely that iWork '09 was not fully deleted. Yvan Koenig has written an AppleScript that entirely deletes iWork. Search this forum and you'll find a few messages linking to this script.

Some app error after otg plugged in

I have moved some apps to sd card (lollipop new feature via setting-app), then I plug the otg flashdisk. Applications which I've moved to sd card is missing and leaving just shortcut, but it will come back again after I reboot.

Are you planning to fix this or what?You don't want us posting new threads about this and you closed the ones already opened (I have a Z3 Dual and I'm facing the same issue) but you also don't provide a fix.My Z3 came with 16Gb of internal storage, of wich I could ouly use 7 right out the box (that's insanely low, I had a G3 before, same storage but It left 12Gb free so....) you ship phones with low internal storage, you cramp them with bloatware and when we move that to the SD card, there's a bug that doesn't let us use these apps if we use USB storage on the go regularly without a reboot....How about you clean up your roms from so much garbage and leave us with enough space to actually USE THE PHONES?And btw, I have used AOSP roms before on the G3 and this is not an Android issue per se, I had apps on the SD card and I could still use them after unmounting external storage so.....

List of Apps missing after update 829 (Uninstall / Reinstall issue)

I understand that after applying the 829 update via OTA, there have been some app crashes (even preloaded ones) And the workaround as to uninstall them then reinstall them. However after uninstalling them, you can't find them in the Lenovo App Store or Android App store.
Appreciate if everyone can post the app that crashed and the reinstall was needed but not found on Lenovo App Store or Android App Store.
Please follow the format below so it's easier for everyone to view this page. I will add those apps into a list and compile them for engineering to assist on it.

Try changing your timezone to US then doing an update and see if it helps. I've manage to update 1 K1 from 725 to 829. Let me know.

I've received the K1, tested it. deleted a few apps from the preload (NFS and some other games) did the update to 829. Other apps such as Doc2Go was fine. I tried doing a factory reset and the previous uninstalled apps got reloaded.
I guess that's the only way to go around this. Have not receive any word on the next update yet.

With win7, my lappy runs smoothly but the problem somehow is not completely over as sometimes the boot fails, esp if I install any new software; maybe missing drivers are causing problems. ILife missing after fresh install - no option to accept in App Stoer

I recently replaced my HDD with a SSD, and installed Mountain Lion fresh from a bootable USB stick that I made with Lion Dismaker.
The install all went fine, however I now have no iLife suite (iPhoto, Garageband and iMovie). I have checked the App Store, they are not in my purchases and I can see no option to 'accept' them. I bought my MacBook with Lion and the iLife suite pre-installed so have no disks for them.
Any help would be appreciated.

Go to App Store > Account > Show hidden purchases and see if iMovie, iPhoto, GarageBand are here. If the programs aren't there, contact with App Store > http://www.apple.com/support/mac/app-store/contact

Power settings missing after clean install of Windows 8.1 on Helix

After a smooth clean installation of Windows 8.1 and loading all the Lenovo drivers, software, and apps, the system runs extremely well except in the Lenovo Settings Metro App, I no longer see the option of battery life protection (to charge only up to 50%). In addition, in the Windows power settings, there are only four power profiles: high performance, balances, power saver, and fly mode. I do have Lenovo Power Management Driver and Settings Dependency Packages installed. Lenovo's System Update does not show any missing installations. I wonder if anyone can give me some clues. Thanks.

My T400s, with both the main and ultra-bay batteries, started with about 6:30 hours of battery life (of course, under my typical work load). 4 years later as today, it still has about 4:30 hours. If I kill some processes and use IE instead of Chrome, I can get 5 hours. I think the long battery lifes have been a consequence of the setting of no start of charging until below 85%.
To replace either battery in Helix, a lot of effort is needed. I think it makes a lot of sense to keep them health.

Install or Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion from Scratch
Be sure you backup your files to an external drive or second internal drive because the following procedure will remove everything from the hard drive.
Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Erase the hard drive:
1. Select Disk Utility from the main menu and click on the Continue button.
2. After DU loads select your startup volume (usually Macintosh HD) from the
      left side list. Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
3. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Optionally, click on
        the Security button and set the Zero Data option to one-pass. Click on
      the Erase button and wait until the process has completed.
4. Quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion: Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion and click on the Install button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible
            because it is three times faster than wireless.
