Some calendar events have wrong time

For some reason, some of my events are getting assigned a time that is one hour later than they are on iCal. Some have the correct time. The only pattern I see is that it looks as though every other event is out by one hour.
At one point, I inadvertently set the timezone on the iPod to not daylight savings time, but it is correct now.
Has anyone experience problems with the calendar?

I found that by changing my timezone to DST, it updated the different appointments to correct times. Although this is just mild "hack"--for me it corrected the problem. I hope Apple fixes it soon. Also when we do go back to DST (Day lights saving time) - I'll just have to change the time manually.
Things that didn't work:
• Turning on time zone support in iCal. Turning it off.
• Resetting the iPod nano.

  • In setting up my ICal calendar I have specific times (as new events) that I want to be included in the print out.  This doesn't happen.

In setting up my ICAL calendar I have specific times (as new events) for each day.  When it prints out the time does not show up (rather its a bar).  I would like the time for each appointment to print out. How do I do this?

These are two possible approaches that will normally work to move an existing library to a new computer.
    Method 1
Backup the library with this User Tip.
Deauthorize the old computer if you no longer want to access protected content on it.
Restore the backup to your new computer using the same tool used to back it up.
Keep your backup up-to-date in future.
    Method 2
Connect the two computers to the same network. Share your <User's Music> folder from the old computer and copy the entire iTunes library folder into the <User's Music> folder on the new one. Again, deauthorize the old computer if no longer required.
Both methods should give the new computer a working clone of the library that was on the old one. As far as iTunes is concerned this is still the "home" library for your devices so you shouldn't have any issues with iTunes wanting to erase and reload.
I'd recommend method 1 since it establishes an ongoing backup for your library.
Note if you have failed to move contacts and calendar items across you should create one dummy entry of each in your new profile and iTunes should  merge the existing data from the device.
If your media folder has been split out from the main iTunes folder you may need to do some preparatory work to make it easier to move. See make a split library portable.
Should you be in the unfortunate position where you are no longer able to access your original library or a backup then then see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device for advice on how to set up your devices with a new library with the maximum preservation of data.

  • Upon syncing my iPhone and mac all of my ical and iPhone calendar events have duplicated. how can i fix this and avoid it in the future?

upon syncing my iPhone and mac all of my ical and iPhone calendar events have duplicated. how can i fix this and avoid it in the future?

    Greetings,
    Questions:
    1. What version of the Mac OS are you running (Apple > About this Mac)?
    2. What version of the iOS are you running (Settings > About)?
    3. Do you backup your computer (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1427)?
--- If you don't regularly backup your computer, now is the time to start.
    4. Do you backup your iPhone (http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1766)?
Check the calendar list on the left hand side of iCal.  Is it that the individual events are duplicated or is it just that you have the same calendar listed more than once?  If its that you have more than 1 copy of each calendar, you can delete one of the duplicate calendars to eliminate the duplicates.
If you find that it is the individual events that are duplicated then there are 2 options:
    1. Restore your computer iCal database or iPhone from a backup made before the duplication occurred.
    2. Use a duplication removal program (or do it by hand) to remove the duplicates: http://www.nhoj.co.uk/icaldupedeleter/
If you have a backup made before the duplication occurred, reply back with what kind of backup you have and I'll suggest how to recover the calendars.
To avoid this issue in the future:
Keep regular backups.  They are your best defense against data anomalies which are a fact of life in computers (although hopefully rare).
Keep your computer and iPhone software fully up to date (Apple > Software Update / Settings > General > Software Update).
Make sure the date and time on your computer and iPhone are correct before you sync the two devices.
Make sure the cable connections between the two is solid and that the cable shows no signs of physical damage.
    Hope that information helps.

  • Many contacts and calendar events have disappeared

Many of my contacts and calendar events have suddenly disappeared. Can they be retrieved?

Mine too. I have a J Home and J Work calendar. The J Home calendar is completely gone and had all my personal events. I checked iCloud and it is gone there. No one has access except me. I opened my calendar on my iphone this afternoon to add an appt for my son. The data was there and basically disappeared in front of my eyes. I didn't touch the calendars menu until everything was gone so it wasn't me. I'm losing my mind right now. Everything is gone...just gone.
I just noticed my wife's shared calendars also no longer appear on my phone or iCloud. Both of her calendars appear on her iCloud and they still say they are shared with me. That's just f****n great. iCloud broke something and I'm the one to suffer. I'll bet anything Apple won't do anything to help as they don't back up iCloud data. I'm sure they do as they are required by law, but they won't admit it. SONOFA!!!!

  • I have downloaded IOS7 on my iPhone and all calendar events have disappeared. The general functions of the calendar have changed and are definitely not 'user friendly'. How can I retrieve my calendar events. Will Apple improve the calendar function

I have downloaded IOS7 on my iPhone and all calendar events have disappeared. The general functions of the calendar have changed and are definitely not 'user friendly'. How can I retrieve my calendar events. Will Apple improve the calendar function or revert to the previous system. Even the typing function on IOS 7 is faulty - very slow to respond to the keyboard. I no longer enjoy using my iPhone. Can anyone assist. Thank you

Very strange! All of my calendar events have reappeared. This has happened one week after downloading iOS 7
The calendar however,  is not easy to use.
The typing function on the phone has  become even slower. Have to wait for each letter to show on screen.

  • In setting up ICloud on my new Iphone 4s, I lost most of my calendar events in my Outlook 7 calendar.  I used to have MobileMe but in the set-up process was told to turn that off which I did but now most of my calendar events have disappeared

In setting up ICloud on my new Iphone 4s, I lost most of my calendar events in my Outlook 7 calendar in my Vista PC.  I used to have MobileMe but in the set-up process was told to turn that off, which I did but now most of my calendar events have disappeared after syncing with ICloud.  How can I get my missing calendar events back?  They are still on my 3Gs Iphone which I have not yet updated to IOS5.
    Thanks for any help.

Plug your phone into the wall charger for at least 30 minutes...make sure you have a sim card in the phone...then:
Leave the USB cable connected to your computer, but NOT your phone, iTunes running, press & hold the home button while connecting the USB cable to your dock connector, continue holding the home button until you see “Connect to iTunes” on the screen. You may now release the home button. iTunes should now display that it has detected your phone in recovery mode, if not quit and reopen iTunes. If you still don’t see the recovery message repeat these steps again. iTunes will give you the option to restore from a backup or set up as new.
Make sure you have no anti-virus software running or any firewalls...turn all of that stuff off.

  • Why are some calendar events duplicating?

Some calendar events are duplicating.  Why is this happening?

Dear, this is happening because of your iCloud sync. Note that if you deactivate your iCloud sync the duplicates will be removed. I don't know why Apple didn't solve this problem yet...

  • Can someone please help. I noticed that all my calendar events have completely disappeared :( I made sure that under settings "mail/contacts/calendars", that under sync it is "all events". Not working.

Can someone please help. All calendar events have completely disappeared from my iphone. I tried troubleshooting. Made sure that in settings, the "mail/contacts/calendars", that under "sync" it was checked off "all events". But it was like that already. Nothing seems to be working. Are my events lost now? I'm stressing. Lol. Thank you.

Check settings > iCloud > calendars.  Is it on or off?

  • Some Calendar events can't be deleted

I have several repeating calendar events that I created in my home calendar (icloud) which can't be deleted. Under event details the "edit" and the "delete event" is missing. I can't delete or modify these events at all. Dragging and dropping the event doesn't work either. The cloud is syncing fine as both my iphone and ipad have all the same events with the same issue.

I am having the same issue.  I created a repeating event and invited others to it.  It won't let me edit it, nor delete it.  I changed my status to "Decline" and it disappears; however, as soon as I try to exit the event window, everything shows back up and my status reverts to "Accepted."  The only two buttons I have access to is "Revert" and "Reply."  Both end up with the same results - event still shows up and I am still in an "Accepted" status.
I tried editing the original entry as well as follow-on events (later in the repeating cycle).  I cannot edit anything other than my status, which doesn't change in the end.
I am running Mountain Lion 10.8.1 on a 6-core Mac Pro.  This issue also occurred within Lion (10.7.x).
It also does the same thing on my iPhone - I decline the event, it disappears, but then pops back up a few seconds later.
I am using an iPhone 4 using iOS 5.1.1
Any ideas on how to delete (or even modify times, dates, locations, etc.)?
    Jim

  • Editing a calendar event always changes time zone to CDT

Whenever I create a calendar event in my iPhone or iPad, it is always created with a time zone of "New York".  It always syncs to my other devices and displays them correctly.   However, whenever I edit the event on another device, it always brings the event up in a time zone of "Chicago" and the times are one hour earlier.
For example, I create an event on my iPhone that starts at 11;00am and defaults to the time zone of "New York".  This is what I want.    However, if I try to edit the event on my iPad, it shows the event starting at 10:00am and the time zone is "Chicago".
This was a problem when I had an iPhone 4s using iOS6 and iOS7.    I now have an iPhone 6 on iOS8, and am still having the same problem.
    Any ideas?

I was wondering if anybody else has run into this problem.   I've tried everything and cannot figure out how to solve this.

  • IPad/iPhone Calendar Invites have wrong dates

When I create a calendar event on Outlook 2010 and it that spans into more 1 day, Ipad/Iphone shows the invite as 1 day late.  For example, created a meeting that spans from Monday @2:00 pm through Tuesday 4:00 pm.  iPad/iPhone users sees the invite as Tuesday through Wednesday which is essentially a day late.  I have the iPhone Set Automatically on Settings - General - Date & Time.  I also have the iPhone set to Time Zone Support (loca) in Settings - Mail, Calendar and Contact = Scroll down to Calendar and selected local time zone.  Anything else I am missing?

On your iPhone, go to settings and then mail, contacts, calendar, etc. Change your default calendar to Entourage.

  • Same calendar event displaying multiple times

Hi, I currently see the same calendar event three times in different colors. I am utiling active sync and am on firmware 2.1. This started happening recently therefore I know this is not a firmware issue.
I have blown away my account and re-established it. Anyone have any ideas.

  • Apple calendar events disappear at time of event

Since upgrading to Yosemite calendar events disappear from the calendar at or just before the scheduled time.  Anybody?

    Use 'On date of event'.

  • IOS 5 iPhone duplicating some calendar events when iCal events on iMac have no duplicates

I've searched in vain on these forums but can't find a problem quite like mine.  I am running
    - iPhone 4 with iOS 5.0.1
    - iMac with Lion OS X 10.7.2
I was using iCloud for all my calendars but found that my phone battery was draining very quickly, so decided to go back to using the iMac to sync to all devices.  I exported all my calendars (seven of them) from iCloud through iCal/File/Export/Export, and then imported them as new calendars.  I deleted my iCloud account on my phone and iCal. I then synced from iMac to iPhone and all went perfectly, except for my primary calendar (typical...).
All events for all calendars appear perfectly in iCal on the iMac.  But  my primary calendar, on my iPhone only, has duplicated nearly all the events in it.  There doesn't seem to be any pattern to those events that AREN'T duplicated - some are annual, all-day recurrences, some are one-offs.
I've tried deleting the cache and the plist from the iMac library (even though, yes, the iMac iCal appears to be working perfectly), then resetting the iPhone, and resyncing - using the 'replace information on this iPhone' option for Calendars.  No luck.  I've tried re-exporting the calendar from iCloud, then re-importing, then resyncing to the iPhone.  Each time it duplicates on the iPhone, but not on the iMac.
Weird - and this is driving me mental.
I'm guessing the calendar might be corrupted or something - is there an equivalent plist or something that I can try deleting from the iPhone?  This has gotten beyond my skills!
    Pleeeeaaaassssee heeeelp!

    Update:
I ended up going through the duplicate entries on the iPhone and manually deleting the second entry in each instance. I re-synced to iMac, and the duplicate entries stayed deleted, and nothing appears changed on the iMac calendars.
I then synced iPhone 3GS and iPad 2 to iMac, doing the same process with the calendars.  I noticed that I had missed one duplicated entry on my iPhone originally, and that this had transferred to each of the other machines too (ie they all had two identical entries for the same thing) (but not on the iMac, still).  Deleted the second of the duplicates again on the iPhone, synced everything, and it was gone from all.
So all in all, not a brilliant fix, but a successful one nonetheless - although it remains to be seen whether the duplicates will reappear at some point, as I've noticed other users have had that problem in some circumstances.  I'd love to hear if anyone has any brilliant thoughts regarding this, though.
