Some Contacts Missing when Texting

If I start from the Contacts App, I can choose any contact and send that contact a text message.
When starting from the Text Messages App, tapping Compose, and trying to add a contact, many of my contacts are missing.
Thoughts?

When you are in the text message application how are you searching for your contact? Are you doing first name, last name, email, phone number etc.. ?

Restoring should not be the only solution !
Apple should work on fixing this issue.
The option is available when u email,
A blue arrow appears and when u click it,
It asks if u want to remove it permanently
So i think the phone # after u send a sms/text
Should be able to be deleted at will.

If you 6 menu buttons are pointing to Tracks then select the Track and in the property inpector you can set the Menu Remote Control options. Set Menu to the button on the menu you want to jump to.
You can set this option individually for chapters in a Track also so,

Some characters missing when printing a PDF on Canon MP560

Hi,
I was not sure where to post this. I have a 15" MB Pro and a Canon MP560. I just went to print a PDF invoice and the printed invoice was missing a few letters/characters in random places. They are not missing when viewing the invoice on my Mac but they are if I click print preview.
Odd... Any ideas?

Hi, i have the same problem, when i print PDF from "Preview" with Samsung 6200FX in Snow Leopard the "X" characters are missing from sheet. When i try a "save as PDF" in "print" the problem is still on, the characters missing again.
The problem of missing letters appear and when try to compress PDF (Flie-SaveAs-Quartz Filter=Black&White).
This problem is not in Leopard.
P.S Please, If this possible, move this topic in Mac OS X v10.6 Snow Leopard section.

Some contacts missing in icloud

Hi!
I have a weird problem with my iphone 4 contacs. Some of them are missing in icloud. I the iphone device seems everything to okay. But when I checked in the icloud i saw that not everything is there. And yes, I have updated the automatic update in the iphone and I have manually updated the icloud too. This problem i shown since a month ago.

OKAY, FYI if anyone else is having issues, mine was that I use HOTMAIL and had hotmail contacts sync to ON (settings> mail contancts calendars>hotmail>contacts). So no longer were my contacts being saved to icloud, instead to my email server. Last week hotmail's server went down so my contancts were then missing until the server was back up. I feel like icloud is much safer place for them and will then always be there to sync to other devices so I'm turning my email contact sync to OFF/delete contacts from iphone and then manually put those contacts into my phone or straight into icloud.

Some contacts missing on both iPhone and Outlook since installing iOS 7.1

I have an iPhone 5S which I successfully sync to Outlook 2007 using iCloud, until recently when I upgraded to iOS 7.1. Most contacts are still there on both my PC and iPhone, but as luck would have it, the ones missing are mostly the important ones for my business. I have tried turning OFF and then ON the settings in both iCloud on my PC and also on my iPhone - as I have often seen suggested for this type of problem - but without any success. I have frequently backed-up but they do not appear anywhere and, strangely, they are random from within the contacts list. Can anyone please advise a method of possibly restoring them? Thanks in advance.

Try installing Microsoft Word for iPad and using that instead. It is free to use as a reader and if you want to use with all its editing capabilities, you can pay the Office365 license.

Some contacts missing from address book on my macbook

I was making some groups in the address book application on my macbook and when i went to add a couple of my contacts, i noticed they weren't there even though i just now synced my phone. How do i fully update all my contacts on my phone to the address book?

A possible tip to add is the obscure option key solution to the question: to what groups does the selected contact belong? When the option key is depressed all associated groups are displayed.
On syncing: is there an Applescript or utility that will audit every linked iCloud account, Mac and iOS device for discrepancies between the Contacts databases? I thinking of the simple case like ours, where we want everything stored in the iCloud Account once-only-once, plus whatever Group-ings are useful. Even better - a script or utility that will force synchronization across all our devices and iCloud?
Another useful tip might be: here are all the things you must do to achieve simple syncronycity - everything the same everywhere, no private contacts. That is probably what 99.99% of users want, and it is not documented anywhere. Even Joe Kissel's Take Control of iCloud v1.3 doesn't address this.

Some contacts missed by sync

I sync 9500 with laptop and pc using v6.6 rel 18 and cable. Each sync the same contacts are missed each time by sync on both machines. They show on both machines but not phone which has 300 less contacts than the computers.
Other than start again, any suggestions. Win2k on desktop and xppro on laptop with Outlook 2003 on both.

i had the same problem. i fixed it by deleting the contacts in outlook and then creating them again. for me, it only missed out about 80 contacts so it didnt take long to re-create them. after i did that it worked fine ever since

Creating a new library may have been a mistake, deleting content takes no time at all.
I can't fully think through what you have done at this time, too late and too many beers, but generally speaking if the original files making up your library or part of it is not available because your HD is missing, a sync will skip this content and not delete it from the tv, providing you have not removed the links for the missing content from itunes.

Some entires misses when i view in Maintenance view

I created a maintenace view for the table HRUS_D2. There are totally 12 entires in the table. Then a table maintenace generator is done for the table. When i go to SM30 and display the view created. I could only see 10 entries. But when i go to sort and select by user. I am getting correct no of entries . what may be the problem.

Contact missing when sync to Iphone

I added one new contact in my Address Book (OS LION) and edited another one. Neither transferred to my IPHONE 4S (OS) after SYNC.. Restored IPHONE etc. No success.

Some loops missing when saved as archive

I added a blue or audio loop to 2 songs in order for the save as archive to be available. It enabled the save as archive button. I saved them as archives but all the loops are not there. 2 other songs are fine. What can I do?

It doesn't make much sense to add a loop just for the "Save as Archive ..." option to be available. If it's not available, you don't need it!

All text tones are available in General-Sounds. Some are missing via Contacts-Edit Contact.

I have confirmed that this issue is also present in the iPhones in the Apple store as of 28-April-2014. I told one of the guys in the Apple store about it and he said that the iPhones in the store have a custom version, so I asked him to check his own iPhone. He did, and the issue is present on his phone, so it's definintely a general IOS7 iPhone issue.
If you go to General -> Sounds -> Text Tone -> Classic, you can see all the classic text tones.
If you go to Contacts, select a contact, select Edit -> Text Tone -> select Classic, some are missing.
I used Choo Choo for one of my contacts while I was on IOS6 and when I switched to a new phone with IOS7 and performed a restore, their text tone changed to Tri-tone. I tried to change it back and saw it was not availble, so I figured they had taken it out of IOS7. Then I heard a friend's iPhone 5 on IOS 7 who had Choo Choo set up as their default. I investigated and saw that more Classic text tones were available via General.
Is there some logical reason why some text tones are not available for Contacts?

Do you maybe have your contacts separated into groups? If so, perhaps you have unchecked the group that the missing contact are in.
In the Contacts app, click the Groups button in the upper left corner. Make sure all groups have a check mark next to them.

I have done that to no avail. Any ideas?

I had the same issue with the iPhone 6 and tried everything! I now understand that at some point I stored a number for a contact without including the area code and sent a text message. So, to correct the issue, you must literally "erase" all references to the contact, not just the number. Deleting the contact and entering a new one is not enough because the iPhone stores references to that number in multiple places. The steps below worked and are very simple:
1) On the contact screen, delete everything stored for that number. You can't just edit the contact to fix the problem, so write down or record the info somewhere before you complete this step. Choose edit and then select DELETE to eliminate the entire contact which means home, work, cell, email address, etc.
2) Delete the entire string of messages you sent to that number. That's every single message...
3) Now delete the entire string of invalid 2114 messages you received after your text(s) failed.
4) Finaly, remove the contact from FAVORITES if you saved it that way.
5) To validate that all this worked, simply go to the keypad or contact screen and enter the number associated with the contact to verify successful removal. I used the keypad and dialed to confirm. If the contact number still shows up, you need to go back and recheck your steps. Trust me, I had to do this a few times.
Several posts suggested that you should reset and turn off your phone. After following these steps, it was not necessary for me to reset or turn off my device.
is there a much faster way to achieve the same results? Probably, but this was safe for an iPhone novice and may help you avoid inadvertently deleting other contacts or replacing factory settings that you need.

I'm using OS 10.6.8 and Mail 4.5. When I receive mails with attachments which are visible the save button doesn't work. Some contacts have problems opening files sent by me using Mail too. This was never a problem on pre-Intel. A real Mac **** up !

Can you drag and drop the attachments visible in the email to the Desktop OK or does that fail ?
Re the sending: Are these recipients on Mac's or PC's as the file type could be an issue, if on Mac's then try setting the Mail Preferences Composing setting to Plain Text not Rich Text and see if that improves things.
