Some coupon sites aren't compatible with Firefox 4 so I can't print needed coupons. How can I revert to the old version of Firefox?
When I try to print coupons at coupons.com and target.com, just to name two, I get a message saying they "We're unable to support coupon printing on your system at this time. The Coupon Print Activator is supported on Windows Operating Systems 2000, ME, XP, Vista and Windows 7 when used with Internet Explorer 6.x, 7.x and 8.x, Firefox 2.x and 3.x, Google Chrome 3.x and Apple Safari 4.x and on Apple Mac OS X and above when used with Safari 2.x and 3.x or Firefox 2.x and 3.x browsers."
Does this mean I need to revert to the previous version of Firefox?

I recently upgraded to a newer firefox version and I am very unhappy with it. How can I revert back to my older version - the one that actually worked. Also I hate the restore last session feature. It raises huge security concerns when children have access to my computer.

What are the problems you are facing by using Firefox 6 ?? We might be able to help you resolve those issues.
Starting with the release of Firefox 6, the previous versions of Firefox (4.0.x and 5.0.x) are no longer maintained with Security and Stability updates. Firefox 3.6 is the last previous Firefox version that is still being maintained.
Firefox versions 4.0.x 5.0.x contain Security vulnerabilities that are known and could be exploited by some websites to gain unauthorized access to information or to disrupt critical processing. Only the Latest version 6.0 and an Older version 3.6 of Firefox are secure against these known vulnerabilities.

Possibly at some stage Yahoo will release an update to the toolbar so it works with Firefox again.
Update <br>Note Yahoo toolbar is being made compatible with Firefox 5, and it was hoped to have been done by 21st June. ([/forums/contributors/707024?last=40411#post-40357 see] ) Yahoo toolbar is therefore likely to become compatible very soon, if not already. -
I miss the ease of use of the google toolbar and its features; these cannot be used with this latest version of Firefox. I was content with the previous version I was using.
Previous versions are no longer maintained for security and stability issues.
*You are risking your private information and online security when using an unsupported version.
*Only Firefox 8 and Firefox 3.6.24 are currently supported and updated.
*Support for Firefox 3.6.24 is likely to end in the first quarter of 2012.
Google decided that they will no longer produce the Google Toolbar for Firefox 5 and newer version. It is best to move on to other alternatives than to try any "hacks" to the toolbar that may or may not perform in the future. Future versions of Google toolbar will only work with IE7-9. Google Toolbar is not available on any other browser, even Google's own browser.

I downloaded the newest version of firefox today 8/16/11 and now I cannot use Evernote (nor does clipmarks work from before) this is unacceptable. How do I return to the earlier version of firefox? If there is no way to do this, then I will have to use internet explorer so I hope you can help me with this. Thank You, Carol Roberts
Until Evernote updates their add-on to mark it compatible with Firefox 6, you can use the [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/add-on-compatibility-reporter/ Add-on Compatibility Reporter] to try re-enabling it yourself.
You can also downgrade to a previous version of Firefox from [https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/ this archive], but please be warned that some old versions of Firefox have known security bugs that are fixed in later versions. Can I go back to the old version of Firefox?
I am trying to pin-point the cause of problems I am having with my basic one-page website. It does not allow me to upload images. The hosting agent says I have a virus. I did the scan and cleaned up the desktop but the problem remains. I am suspicious of the Firefox update because of the warning it gave during its installation that some "plug-ins" would not function or be available until a later time (or something to that effect). What was that all about and could it affect my website? Can I go back to the old version of Firefox? Maybe I could test if this is a part of the problem.
Hello, the Photobucket plugin was not developed by Mozilla, the creator of the plugin is mattyk++ as you can see here: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/photobucket-uploader/
He needs to update the plugin in order to work with Firefox 4.0 -
I just want the old version of Firefox back.
Firefox 4 requires at least OS X 10.5 and an Intel Mac. There is a third party version of Firefox 4 that runs on OS X 10.4/10.5 and PPC Macs, for details see http://www.floodgap.com/software/tenfourfox
If you prefer, you can get the latest version of Firefox 3.6 from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html
Mozilla are working to prevent Mac users with non-compatible systems from getting the notification about Firefox 4, and also not displaying the "Download Firefox 4" button on http://www.mozilla.com
For the full system requirements see http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/system-requirements.html -
I was recently prompted to update my Itunes player to the latest version. I'm using Windows Vista. I was left with an error message MSVCR80.dll and consequently no new update. I uninstalled the old version and have tried to reinstall manually several times. No luck. Consequently I have no player.
Any ideas for a fix?Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.
Please note:
Some users may need to follow all the steps in whichever of the following support documents applies to their system. These include some additional manual file and folder deletions not mentioned above.

On the opening page of Firefox, I am constantly reminded (and sometimes warned) that I do not have the latest version of Firefox. Yet, when I click for upgrade, I start getting a download of the same version 8.0.1 which I am already running.
This - http://www.google.com/firefox - is the old Firefox Start Page used by the Firefox 3.6 and earlier versions of Firefox, I don't think it is being maintained.
Starting with the Firefox 4 version, Firefox is using a "local" Start Page with the address of '''about:home'''. It looks similar to the old Start Page, but it isn't exactly the same. -
I can't open pdf adobe reader files from websites since updating to 5.0. If it truly is incompatible with the update then I need to know how to go back to the older version of Firefox so I can access these files.
Sorry you are having problems. First of all try Fifrefox's safemode.
*[[Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode]]
If that works post back for further advice.
Next step, if safe mode did not work.
<u>First: Try a clean install, (you have had a none standard version installed previously)</u><br /> that involves deleting the program files. Then if necessary try troubleshooting by creating and using a clean empty Firefox profile.
See
* this recent post [/questions/940399#answer-377134]
* http://kb.mozillazine.org/Standard_diagnostic_-_Firefox#Clean_reinstall
<u>Second: try a New Profile</u>
*http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_Manager#Creating_a_new_profile
* this will be an additional profile, it is still worth backing up any existing or currently working profile on a regular basis
**[[Back up and restore information in Firefox profiles]]
* Until you are absolutely confident about the repercussions I suggest
** always use an empty folder when creating a new profile
** never delete or rename profiles, just disable or remove shortcuts
** after creating a new test profile open it and check for any addons or plugins that may be have been included by default -

Question
Why can I not use my Norton Toolbar... It is a very important item... If I can not run norton toolbar, then I do not want the new version of firefox.... How do I go back to my old version..Norton has had over 5 months to work in their Firefox extensions, since the API's were locked for 4.0. Ask Norton why they pull this crap every time Mozilla releases a new version of Firefox. When Firefox 3.6 was released mid-January 2010, it took Norton until almost April to come up with a working version of their Firefox extensions.
