Some database applications might still be running

I've installed Enterprise Portal 7 on Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 5.4. where 5 other sap instances are installed all running on sapdb 7.7
I had to uninstall the portal and on reinstalling I had to remove entries from /sapdb/data/config/Databases.ini, /sapdb/data/config/Installations.ini and delete all files under /sapdb/data/config/ containing the <SID> for the installation to continue. But the installation get to the step "install database server software" and then gives the following error "MDB-07020 The database installer reported an error. DIAGNOSIS: Some database applications might still be running. SOLUTION: Check the log file sdbinst.log."
In the sdbinst.log file the following are found:
cannot do update check - test file "/sapdb/<SID>/db/pgm/kernel" not found
During that step the install calls "/sapdb/<SID>/db -profile Server -o sdb -g sdba -b is written to the logfile /saptemp/temp/sdbinst.log" but the /sapdb/<SID>/ folder does not exist.
I've tried stopping all other sap instances on the server.
I have also tried using a different <SID> but the same error occurs.

呵呵，等了几天没有等到回复，自己弄了弄夜没找到解决办法。打算关帖了！
不过就算关也不能随随便便的就关了，把自己得到的一些想法和大家说说，希望对大家有点帮助。
这个版本的安装，不是SAP正规软件产品的安装，除了BASIS以外、大家就放松心态吧。
出现问题之前，最好做充足的准备。
如果真的打算安装这个版本，或者其他的版本，最好重新安装操作系统，干净系统安装，一般没啥问题。
别用啥优化版的。就找个未修改版的windows就行。
还有一招以备不时之需。就是装好操作系统后，马上做GHOST，然后再安装NW。
一旦出现问题，也好恢复干净的系统再安装NW。

I am facing a problem while installing developer trail version. Below is the error.

Now the installation struck at "Install database client". I have checked all the place that I know in windows like "Processes" and "Services" to see any MaxDB instance is running. I could not find any such. So I am thinking There will not be any applications which can acces database. unfortunatly installation step is thinking it as if there were some other applications running on it.
Any help to solve would be a great help.

I start the computer the screen has blue vertical stripes and says that the Adobe Air application can not be found. Some of my programs don't run and say:

What to do?Hello cor-el, thanks for your reply. I changed my settings for downloads to desktop and it has appeared on there. When I double click I am asked which program I want to open file. I click firefox and another box "opening install" says I have chosen to open the file which is an application and do I want to save it. This is the only real option so I press save file. I get a box saying this is an executable file which may contain viruses - do you want to run. I press ok and the final box showing C drive file name and desktop appears stating application not found.
This happens the same whenever I try to install.
To my untrained eye the application is not being recognised as an application and I cannot work out how to get it to do that.
My plugin is still showing as out of date.

Why are the application in the apple store are not compatible with the iPod touch 4g? Apple please realize there are some of us who still have the iPod touch 4g! I just want to know.
Once I find the game i will truly screenshot that it states "not compatible for these models". I just find it RIDICULOUS that my iPod touch is in good condition and some of the applications that I want download sometimes are not compatible with my iPod touch 4g. I am not going to buy an ipod 5th generation if my 4g is still going strong since the year of 2010.

Simple java/mysql database application question about triggers
I am planning a new database application using java and mysql. I may want to use some triggers to automatically update the tables when a change is made. my question is this: If I write the trigger, and I use Java to modify the database, will java automatically pause and let the trigger finish doing its task before it continues? what if it writes more to the table before the trigger is finished modifying the table? how do I get java to pause and let the trigger finish?

It doesn't have anything to do with java at that point.
When you execute, for example, an insert statement, then the database executes that statement. The database (not java, not the driver) decides with that statement is complete. Control returns to java when the database decides that execution is complete.
And except for tricks that one might do (or attempt to do) via SQL or triggers then when the statement execution finishes then everthing has completed running. -

So basically all else is going fine before saving the clone. Application pool is created, search service and it´s proxy is created (the databases are also created in SQL). The clone is after this created and then the components are added.
I have tested with both March and April CU. I use separate accouns for search service, installation and so on. I have tested giving the search application pool account local admin right but didnt make any difference.
Some posts in Internet around this matter is pointing towards there might be 4 missing patches like here: http://blog.steigis.ch/sharepoint/sps2013/search-in-starting-state/ They are all installed on my server.
Search host controller service and SharePoint Server Search are started.

Any ideas?I had exactly the same issue when setting up a new SharePoint 2013 environment (Windows Server 2012, SP2013 with PU March 2013 and CU April 2013, .NET 4.5). I have tried almost everything during the last weeks to configure the Search Service Applicatione,
e.g. create the service from GUI, create it from PowerShell, verify my search account had enough permissions, check for missing updates etc. etc. Same error no matter what I tried.
Using another SharePoint farm I went through a similar configuration of the Search Service Application. I used exactly the same script as I did on the first server and the setup completed without any issues. So why did the same features fail during the setup?
To find an answer I compared the two farms and the only thing I noticed that were different was the lack of .NET 3.5 on the application and WFE server in the first farm. I then enabled .NET 3.5 features and now the Search Service Application works as expected
I had no idea enabling .NET 3.5 features would solve the issue - I thought .NET 4.5 was backward compatible and SharePoint only requires .NET 4.5 according the
requirements? -

Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleApplicationSupport.msi to do a standalone AAS install.

Client-server database application...
Hi there!
I'm about to write a database-application and I wonder if the following approach is to prefer or not:
I want to use a MySQL-database and there shall be about eight client-applications which all shall be able to use it. I think of solving the above with RMI (I want to create/deploy a server wich will contain all the different SQL-queries on the same site as where I install the MySQL-database ). From the clients I just, with RMI, invoce the methods on the server which contains the different queries I want to use. In other words all the database-functionality is located on the server somewhat like stored procedures. To make it work each client must be assigned a thread of its own on the server...is this right?
The advantages of the above which I can think of is: I just need to stuff one J/Connector driver in the JRE (on the server). Another is that I can use the nameservice of RMI... are there others?
Is the above a good / usual or even bad approach?
Is it more usual or even better to just provide the database-functionality (SQL-queries) in the clients and provide every client with the J/Connector driver?

If you're talking about a small number of concurrent users (you have to define small), then you'll probably better off trying to do all the data/business logic in the app. If you're talking about a large number of concurrent users (again, your definition), your client/server paradigm might be better.
To complicate things, unless you're doing this as a learning-on-your-own project (e.g. not getting paid for it), this is where you might want to evaluate using J2EE technoligies for your server-side implementation. Writing your own server is not a trivial task (been there, done that - pre-J2EE, of course): there's a lot of things you have to figure out how to handle. Well, that's true of even using J2EE, but there's some portion of what your server would need to do already taken care of in an application server. -

Advices for database application
hello,
We looked for exising solution to manage mesuremens and devices park without finding one that fit
maybe one of you know/use a good one !
so we are thinking about creating our own
in few month i will have to develop a database application with postgre, this database will be used
to store devices mesurements, accuracy, drift , create alerts regarding calibration date,
printing calibration , verification certificates also stickers ....
Creating the dabase sould be ok, my question is more regarding the langage to use to create interfaces
things to know:
- that i will not have any specifications or so few, this will be incrementals propositions
- I ' now quite comfortable with labview
- php it surely the best way but i don't know any about it nether html ,css ...
- i could have a one week php course
- php is distributed application
- how to manage network shutdown with labview or php
- i will need to access an existing database an creating link with the new one
- about 10 users can use the application
- i don't have conection with web developper in my work circle
project is interesting , my anxiety with php could be to re write again and again , each time i will progress on this language
with labview i'm not sure that is the best way to create this type of application and to be forced a day or another to switch to php

I really do not like php but in all fairness I have not looked at it for several years. What I use is Python on the server through the Django web application framework running on Apache. It is very simple and easy to use.
The LabVIEW code writes data through http POST requests and the server inserts this data into the database. I do not use the Django object relational mapper. Instead I build the SQL inserts manually. I do this mostly because the database already exists and I just find it more natural.
I also do not make use of the Django template engine. The server returns XML to LabVIEW which looks something like this:

Can you see what I am doing? I am returning an error and a cluster which can be unflattened using Unflatten From XML. I can set LabVIEW errors from Python for things like a request without the required parameters or whatever. I have a Python class that builds the XML Response which contains exactly two children - Error and Data. It has methods including createCluster, addLVObject, createLVArray, insertLVArrayElement, setError, etc. Finally it has a getXMLResponse method which returns the above XML string.
I return that using the Django HTTPResponse object and get at the data in LabVIEW like this
The returned cluster can be as complex as you want such as cluster of cluster of array of cluster. It always returns a cluster so if you want the server to return say an array then you will get a cluster containing an array that you simply unbundle. It supports strings, all the numeric representations, paths, visa resources, boolean and something i am forgetting at the moment.
Also my URL configuration is very simple since I only POST and do not send GET requests. This means I can map the URL directly to the Django view method of the same name. I get the parameters with request.POST.get('Parameter Name')
I know for a fact that you can do all of this with php but I just prefer Python. If none of the above makes sense then come back to it after you read about Django.
Good choice if it was a choice to use PostgreSQL or a stroke of good luck if it was not a choice. This is what I use and it has been rock solid for years. I really want to upgrade because the NOTIFY now supports data payloads. I have had to do some crazy things to get around the fact that the older versions do not support this.
I am thinking seriously about putting together a tutorial on this whole thing.

I was just deleted the pages from my database application wizard. Now, i want to retrieve the deleted pages, can you help me to retrieve those pages.
Thankyou.Halloween can be a scary time -- especially if you Oops your APEX application. Of course you can't travel back in time but through the miracle of flashback, you may be able to get the APEX appl. back to where it was when. I tried these approaches and was successful with them.
*** This assumes flashback is running on the APEX schema(?). Your abiliy to go back a given number of minutes (or hours?) will depend on whether the saved values still exist in the database. ***
A) If you modify a page and want to go back to what you had, say, about 30 minutes ago.
1) Under the Utilities button (on that page), select History.
2) Determine how far back in time you want to go by examining the list of editing changes displayed.
3) Do a page export of that page (also under Utilities) and fill in “As of __ minutes ago”.
4) If you don’t want to lose what you've got on the “damaged” page, copy it to another page number for now.
5) Import the exported page file.
6) Check if you got back what you wanted.
7) If not, try an earlier (or later) time and have another go at it.
B) If you deleted the wrong page in the application!
1) Assuming the last thing you did was this deletion, export the entire application filling in “As of __ minutes ago”.
2) Just to be careful, import the file to a different unused application number. Don't overwrite someone else's application.
3) Copy the deleted page from the new application back to where you need it.
4) Clean up by deleting the unneeded application.
C) If, "Doh," you deleted the wrong application!!!!
1) Are you able to retire? If no, then proceed!
2) Create a minimal application (with a single page) with the same number as the one deleted.
3) Export the application filling in “As of __ minutes ago” with an appropriate number of minutes.
4) The export file should contain the code you need to restore.
5) You can inspect it with an editor.
Look about line 25 for" Pages: <number>".
For specific pages look for "page_000nn".
5) Import the file to the same appl. number. You should get everything back!
YMMV: Your mileage may vary!

Intermittent microphone problem in Windows 7
In my Windows 7 64-bit install, I have a very annoying problem. The microphone becomes completely unusable, seemingly at random. I'll test the microphone right after starting up, and it works fine. But several minutes or hours later, when I start a v
