Some dumb Shut down ISSUE... need help. Pls.

Well I'm having this really anoying shut down issue. Evertime I turn off my computer, It says "You can now safely turn of your computer" and they i have to push the damn power switch!! and when i had my old Case I never had that. It would just turn off by itself. Can anybody tell me how to change this?

If you are not bothered by the shutdown problem, then you should leave it alone.
If you are willing to risk and re-installing doesn't takes up your time then you can try altering the registry.
If you think that you are already being bother by many other problems rather than this and you have the time to do a clean shave, by all means go for full format as a housekeeping.

I have been using it for half a year without any problem. It just started to go nuts this week.Ok, what I would do is to update if possible : http://europe.nokia.com/support/download-software/device-software-update/can-i-update, or/and soft reset and format the memorycard.
(remember to back up anything you want, - But I would try not to backup more than contacts, messages and music and pics - as you might can take the problem with you. Likely - it's not a software issue as you said it been behaving fine for half a year.
Have you installed any apps lately right before the issues started?
If you cannot figure it out - I would take it to a Nokia care point as it might be a hardware fault. -
Hi, after updating my iphone since 2 weeks back now i am facing a battery problem i charce fully my iphone and by the end of the day my iphone shuts down it needs to be charged again and if i didi some calles it leaks after few hours. Please adivse me what to do.

is to turn off wifi when you do not need it. When I leave the house I turn off wifi, because the majority of the times when my iPhone has got very hot and crashed is when I am away from home. I suspect that if the iPhone is in the vicinity of public wifi (wheather secure or not secure) it will try and connect, even if you have 'automatically join known networks' set to off. This is easy of course if you have an unlimited data contract for your iPhone. I may be wrong, but it is working for me. It makes sense for me because it is another way of reducing the work the processor (and battery) has to do and therefore reduces the chance of overheating.
Having said that, I never had this problem with my iPhone 4. I now have a 4S.

I opened the cover (there where the battery is) and I cleaned the dust gently with a dry napkin ...remove the battery and placed it again ...closed the cover and when i turn on my macbook bro now it shows the Apple logo and after some seconds it just shuts down (i have OSX 10.9 Mavericks)....
I tried to boot in safe mode, also tried to repair it and even re-install Mavericks and so on, but I could not fix it. I did a hardware test and the no problems occurred. -
After start-up from sleep mode, Mail 6.2 shuts down and needs to be rebooted
After starting my iMac (Mountian Lion OS) from sleep mode and then staring Mail, Mail will crash (shut down) and needs to be restarted. This does not happen every time but enough to be annoying. Does anyone else also experience this and is there a fix? I have sent problem reports to Apple but they just seem to go into a black hole with no response. I would appreciate any help or advice. I am also seeing the symptoms of this on my large (3500+) network of macs. We have seen it happen on MacBooks and MacBook Pros. I am curious to know do you have multiple airports in your environment or a single airport?
Also have you found any way to mitigate these effects (i.e does it still happen if you go to the apple menu and choose the sleep command)
Just curious, I want to find a solution to this because it seems to be very similar to what our users are seeing. -

I have a MacBook Air. I have got a software update notification couple of days ago. I've clicked on it today, and it started installing updates.
But, I have got a notification telling that not all updates were installed successfully, then I have clicked on "Restart" from the notification box. Then my Mac restarted and the white screen with Apple logo and the update progress appeared (like what always happens during updates).
The problem that while the update progress reached around half the way, my Mac shutdown. I tried many times to turn it on, it turns and the same white screen appears and the update starts again and shuts down.
Please Help me!

You did not state whether you installed the update while on battery (not mains) power. You are warned not to apply certain updates without being connected to a charger & mains power.
Also remove any attached peripherals.
Reboot in Repair mode (command-R at start) and use Disk Tools-Disk Utility-Disk First AId to repair your disk, and as long as you're there repair permissions. Next quit Disk Tools and reinstall the OS. After completing that successfully reboot, log in and do a combo update.
You must have more than enough (not just enough) empty (free) disk space for the update. -
So I have a Macbook 13" 1.83 Ghz Core Duo, running 10.6.2 with 2gb of (user installed) RAM. Minus a defective battery issue last year (the battery swelled to the point where my trackpad wouldn't work) which apple replaced for free out of warrantee, I have had no issues.
Out of the blue, I've been experiencing random shut down issues of sorts. If I have the computer plugged in it works fine. Sometimes though, the computer will randomly shut down after being unplugged. I tried reseting the SMU but it didn't seem to do anything.
Another odd thing - I calibrated the battery with the computer on an incline on my desk to keep it cool in case it was an issue of over heating. The computer charged fully, and then drained it's charge to 0% and went to sleep as it should.
But once I charged it up about halfway again, unplugged it, and put it on my lap, it shut off within 2 minutes. I'm well out of my warrantee so any user suggested diagnostic tips would be appreciated! I've included the battery info for good measure (btw the battery is not even a year old).

Moved iWeb before MobileMe shut down but need new host, please help
Hello all,
I successfully moved my iWeb site to a new host before MobileMe shut down and I remember a discussion offering lots of hosting sites that were good and free and some for pay. I cannot find that discussion or the sites, although I thought I bookmarked them, there was one I even called and they were great but I can't find that bookmark UGHHHH.
So can you all please recommend me your faves and how good their customer service it. I am using NYPWH.com and have been for years for a site I never changed and now that I have to do some stuff to the new iWeb site, I find they are a little impatient with me, especially as technically challenged as I am.

GinaEach of the web hosting companies that were mentioned, are unique in their own ways. I just wanted to clear up a couple of things to hopefully give you a better idea of which host might suit you best.
First, godaddy is a powerhouse in the domain registration and hosting department, but what I've noticed over the last little while is a large increase in price. I used to recommend GoDaddy to users who are price senstitive but now I advise against.
The other thing that concerns me about some of the other hosts is that they often offer introductory rates to entice their buyers. Once a user signs up and uses their services for 3 months, 6 months, 1 year, 2 years, 3 years, whatever it may be, the user will often have to pay a much higher rate when that introductory term is over. This is something I personally do not like, and as a consumer, I don't think it's a very fair way to get people to use a service. And the most important thing for an iWeb user, is that these big companies don't really know iWeb very well.
MacMate is more of a MobileMe replacement, and a better option for iWeb users who will want to take advantage of customer support geared towards an iWeb user. I like that they saw a need for a MobileMe replacement and are delivering. Their price is a bit high though, but still in line with the second-term prices of some of the other companies.
Rage software does offer all of the services of an ordinary host. So I think there was some mininformation there. The things I like about Rage is they've been a pretty big part of the iWeb community for many years, so their support team knows iWeb in and out. A quick look at their price shows that they are actually one of the cheaper hosts ($5/month on the 3 year term, no introductory rate or more expensive rate upon renewal). They also provide their well known iWeb SEO Tool software for free to their hosting customers, which is a pretty big bonus in my opnion. So to summarize, I'm not really fond of those bigger companies that offer the introductory rates and then jack the prices when the user needs to renew. I like the idea of MacMate, and it seems like a good alternative solution to MobileMe to users who don't mind paying a bit extra to receive similar services to MobileMe. I like Rage because of price, iWeb support, and the free software, so they would be my recommendation. Use Rage software and dropbox if you're a user looking to replace iDisk. It's free, fast, syncs with all your computers, iPads, iPhones, etc.

how are ya? I have a big time bad issue. Since yesterday my white MacBook (1,83 GHz, 1GB RAM) just shuts down, without any anouncements. When I tried to start it again, it stucks for some secs and then all of a sudden it shuts down again. Today I had some buddies here over. They saw my new Apple Macbook. I thought I show them some Apple style thangs. What happened after I showed them something on the internet??? It shuts down! Just like that! I felt like a piece of shoot. My buddies were laughing! And I thought: Oh no! Not again.
What in gods name is that issue? Am I the only one? What shall I do? I just want a MacBook that works. Why did I switch? It's just like windows...I've used Macs for almost 20 years, and I've had to use PCs in recent years for work stuff. I thought the MacBook was the answer to my prayers. I sold a perfectly reliable iBook and Dell Inspiron to purchase the MacBook.
Once they get the shutdown issues fixed, I think it'll be worth what I paid for it, but it's definitely frustrating. Don't lose faith in Apple. This kind of thing happens to everyone, but I sure do wish I had put off my MacBook purchase.
I was supposed to have my logic board replaced on Monday, but guess what? The replacement logic board was defective.

I swear, all I want is a public admission by Apple that they screwed up with some of the first MacBooks. Seriously. Everyone makes mistakes, and electronics can't always be perfect out of the box. I know that. I just the psychological satisfaction that will come with an admission on their part.
It happened with the discoloration. I went into an Apple store with my "PinkBook" in early June, and they said it was obviously my fault. I can't wait to go back there and ask them how many stained MacBooks they've seen.

Connection issue - Need help narrowing down
Hi guys. Trying to pinpoint what's wrong with my connection. I've got a Westell 7500 on DSL. The speed is great, except every so often I'll lose my connection. Happens once every couple of weeks or so and it's usually at night around 8:00. All the lights on the modem/router look normal. But neither one of my 2 computers in the room can get a connection. I can't even log in to the router when this happens. After about an hour the connection appears to fix itself and switch back on. I've tried switching the router off and on to re-establish the connection but it seems to have no effect. Only thing I noticed is when I power-cycle it, the LED on the router labeled "Internet" sometimes remains off. Other times it stays solid green, even though the connection still doesn't work.
When it's back online and I check my transceiver stats they look fine. I can post 'em if you guys want but everything looked within normal range to me and I have no speed problems so I don't think line quality is the issue.
Even if you can't help me solve the problem, I hope someone can at least help me figure out whether it's a faulty router or Verizon's service in the area just shuts down temporarily (service status page never says anything).

The iPad is telling you it has entered the recovery mode - you need to follow the instructions in http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1212 for connecting to a computer running iTunes by way of the recovery mode.
