Some emails bouncing to known good addresses

I am getting failures on some emails to email addresses that I know are valid. I am just replying to emails I just received.
Here is the error:
Reason: SMTP transmission failure has occurred
Diagnostic code: smtp;554 Service unavailable; Client host [vms173005pub.verizon.net] blocked using Barracuda Reputation
Anyone have any ideas. Sounds like verizon's email servers are being blocked.

The IP Address for [vms173005pub.verizon.net] is 206.46.173.5. According to http://www.barracudacentral.org/reputation, that IP address is not currently listed as "poor" on the Barracuda Reputation System. So... I'm looking into it . Is your verizon IP static or DHCP?

Some emails display images as http address

I have a new Macbook Air. I get regular emails from eBay, etc and they contain images. Lately some emails, not all, do not display the images. Instead there is an HTTP address that if I open takes me to the images in Safari. I have all the settings to display HTM images.If I check the same email message on my iPad or iPhone it does show the images. The problem is only on the MacBook Air. Any thought on fixing this??

This seems a rather minor problem to me, but if you really want to pursue it, you can try the following.
Quit Mail. Force quit if necessary.
Back up all data. That means you know you can restore the Mail database, no matter what happens.
Triple-click the line below on this page to select it:
~/Library/Mail/V2/MailData/Envelope Index
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C). In the Finder, select
Go ▹ Go to Folder
from the menu bar. Paste into the box that opens (command-V), then press return.
A Finder window will open with a file selected. Move the selected file to the Desktop, leaving the window open. Other files in the folder may have names that begin with "Envelope Index". Move those files, if any, to the Trash.
Log out and log back in. Relaunch Mail. It should prompt you to re-import your messages. You may get a warning that the index is corrupt and that Mail has to quit. Click OK.
Test. If Mail now works as expected, you can delete the file you moved to the Desktop. Otherwise, post your results.

Email bounced back from valid addresses

Hello,
When I send email using Mail, people with certain email addresses (i.e. "pacbell" or "hotmail") don't receive them. Even though they are valid addresses, they are bounced back to me. I have a ".mac" address; when I send mail to these people through .mac's webmail, the mail goes through fine. Any ideas why?

this is what i get:
"A message that you sent could not be delivered to one or more of its
recipients. This is a permanent error. The following address(es) failed:"
(even though the address is valid; this happens with newly composed and replied emails)
when i send through webmail, they go through fine.

Not receiving some email

Hello, my .mac address seams to be refusing delivery of some emails, bouncing them back to people. Not sure how long it has been doing this...Anyone know why this might be?

Having a similar problem but the messages are vanishing - not bounced and not junked - just gone. First brought to my attention on 3 days ago.

Mail bouncing/filtering emails from a known address

Hi, I have a problem with Mail 5.1 filtering emails from a known email address (in my Address Book).
If I get several emails from the same address, one after another, normally the third or fourth one is put in the junk folder, even though Mail is set to leave all mail in my inbox!
If I turn off junk filtering, the mail is bounced back to the sender.
Any ideas? It's annoying as I don't always see the email in the Junk folder.

Under SCOT " * " is stated so I think that is not an issue and yes xyz=abc.com is a valid domain address and mails are succesfully sent and received via Microsoft Outlook.
And, RFC Connection is fine as when tested.
SMICM = SMTP Service exist and port number as 0.
But to remind, if I send mail from xyz=abc.com to pqr=abc.com the mail is not received at Outlook but under SOST, the status is fine and indicates it is sent.
Mail is not been sent FROM same domain TO the same domain.
As, if i send mail from xyz=abc.com to samplename=mydomain.com the mail is sent and recieved succesfully
Please help.

ICloud flags known good email as junk!

For the past few months, iCloud mail has frequently flagged known good email as junk. In all cases, the messages that are flagged are from correspondents who have been sending me messages for years without any problem. Now, all of a sudden, iCloud thinks these messages are junk—and continues to flag them as junk no matter how many times I tell iCloud that they are "not junk".
I also see that Apple offers iCloud tech support only to those whose computers are still in warranty. What's with that?! No email support, no nothing.
Suggestions appreciated.

- Add the thumbs down button to your mail toolbar as other commenters have noted (View>Customize Toolbar).
- Open your junk mail folder and find one of the messages that should not have been marked as junk.
- Hit the "Thumbs Down" button.
- A banner will appear at the top of the message preview window that says "You marked this a junk mail."
- In that banner will be a "Not Junk" button.
Contrary to Apple's principle, this is not very intuitive, and it places the blame/responsibility for the mis-categorization back on the user ("YOU marked..."). However, this method does work to keep future messages like the ones you've unmarked from landing in your Junk folder.

Apple Mail - Load images for some email addresses automatically

Is it possible in Apple Mail to put some email addresses on a white list so that the images within their emails always load?
I don't want all images to load for every email I get, but I find it an annoyance to have to often load images from contacts I already trust.

Select the ones you don't want and delete them.
If you want to add them to contacts, click that button.

Friends are reporting that some emails to me are bouncing back. It is multiple folks with different email systems. I do still receive most emails (I think!) and there does not seem to be anything unique about the ones bouncing back to distinguish them from the ones that come through. They are not large, they don't have big attachments. What could be wrong?

Are you running low on storage in your icloud account?
On an iOS device, go to Settings>General>Usage to see how much "Storage" you have available on the device. Farther down the list is the available storage on iCloud.
On a mac, System Preference>iCloud. Look at the bar graph to see how much space you have used.
Also, the bounced back emails should include some error statements as to what the problem is. Can your friends report that to you?

How eliminate some email address when sending to a Group

On Mac mini signed up for Thunderbird because Mail/Comcast would receive but not send messages. I have groups listed in address book. I can select a group and Thunderbird sends BCC out fine. I want to be able to eliminate some of the members in the group from some emails. I do not see who they have been sent to until the email has been sent. I want to edit the names in the group when I get ready to send. Any way I can do this. This is the way I was handling group messages in Mail. It worked fine until they decided to receive but not send my e-mails.

Ways an attacker might start malware with a known good service

How would an attacker be able to get malware started at the same time a legitimate, known good service is started? I am consulting on trying to fix a server that has a service starting and using the tool StealthWatch, we can see that the service is
shown as running TCP scans of blocks of network addresses. I have compared the MD5 hash of the service to a known good copy of the same service on another server and they are the same, so I pretty confident that the service itself is not changed. I see no
dependencies for the service and other testing I have done is testing using sigcheck.exe to validate that the service is signed and also checked the signature all of the files in the same directory where the service is located.
What techniques have you seen that can be used to run malware along with a legitimate service?

Email bounces that didn't happen in different system

This month, we switched our newsletter from Constant Contact to Business Catalyst. In analyzing the results of the first issue, I noted about 18 emails that had hard bounces, even though they always went through under the old system. In most cases, I am inclined to say 'no big loss' because the history showed no action. But three of them were in the habit of opening the newsletter, and one has even clicked through to our website or other links.
The most common message in the report was "Bad destination mailbox address," not "Address does not exist." What does that mean?

Yes this needs to be fixed.
I've been having the same issues and have logged a couple support cases recently. Adobe can you guys have someone look into Email deliverability.
Recently I logged the same support ticket, we could email people fine. But we couldn't blast to them through BC email marketing. We sent through a list of people (a lot) and it never got anywhere except some email responses.
But now this needs to be looked at.
Recently I've spoken to other partners that are noticing the same issues.

I have an aol email account. Some emails come through to my MAC mail (Mac OS X Lion 10.7.4) & some don't-very annoying, as I have to sign in to aol.com to make sure I am receiving all my emails.Happens even with email addresses that come to me on a regular basis.
I have no problems sending emails.

Remote content bar does not appear for some emails with images specifically daily Twitter updates. Changing options to allow all remote content has no effect

The broken image symbol appears in place of the images but associated web links do work ok.
