Hi, cannot drag to trash, get a message saying the item cant be moved to trash because it cant be deleted. I really dont know what theses are. The icon shows as excel but they are certainly not filenames I have used. I cant open them either and they dont show in finder under desktop but they are clearly sitting there!

I looked over the article you mentioned, but I have tried all of these methods, but only get the response "The item “29394D00” can’t be moved to the Trash because it can’t be deleted." Similarly, I cannot Get Info on the file. This is why I'm so concerned, it just appeared on my desktop, but I cannot touch it, or open it or delete it...
If you have any more tricks up your sleeve, I'd love to hear about them...

Ideas.It's not that you can't use the subject field, but it is very unreliable when I try to use it. Sometimes the message send button will work and sometimes it won't.
But the biggest reason to turn it off is so that you do not accidentally type your message in the subject field. You can type a subject in that field, but you still have to type the actual message in the space below the subject field. -

Hi all. I can’t tell you how to solve your iCloud 3.x issues. Heck, I don’t think they’re even solvable.
But if you had a previous version of iCloud that was working correctly then I can definitely tell you how to solve the “iCloud Photo Stream is not syncing correctly to my Windows 7 PC” problem. …without even a re-boot.
Log out of iCloud 3.0 and uninstall it.
Open My Computer and then open your C:\ drive. Go to Tools/Folder Options and click on the View tab. Select the “Show hidden…” radio button and click on OK.
Open the Users folder.
Open your user folder
Open ProgramData (previously hidden folder)
Open the Apple folder – not the Apple Computer folder.
Open the Installer Cache folder
In Details view sort on Name
Open the folder for the newest entry for iCloud Control Panel 2.x – probably 2.1.2.8 dated 4/25/2013
Right click on iCloud64.msi and select Install.
When finished, the synching between iCloud and your PC will be back to working perfectly as before the 3.0 fiasco. The pictures will be synched to the same Photostream folder as before the “upgrade”. Now all you need to do is wait until Apple/Microsoft get this thing fixed and working before you try the 3.x upgrade again.
I think the iCloud 3.0 software was written by the same folks who wrote healthcare.gov with the main difference being that healthcare.gov might eventually be made to work.
For those of you who hate to go backwards, think of it as attacking to the rear. Which would you rather have, the frustration of no synching or everything working on an older version?

In Mavericks I had no problem whatsoever, but now even after googeling and restart no solution.

I can confirm the problem you are hitting. The XML test trace does not get recognized at all, and it defaults to Eclipse's basic Open File behaviour. I am not sure if it's because the format definition is missing, or if it's because something prevents the trace type from being recognized. I will open a bug about it.

Trying to select the Calendar check box in iCloud window and then it asks me If I want to merge I hit ok and the it tries to ad see spinning fan icon and then just quits and is then unchecked. Does Anyone have a solution to fix this? It works just fine on all other 5 Macs I have. I have tried to sign out and in and even restart the computer. I am running Yosemite on all 6 of my Macs.
Search the web or help doco about the Captivate feature called Return to Quiz. It will do what you are looking for here according to your description. There's even a Youtube video from a year or two back that shows how it works.

I have selected calendars on my iphone and macbook to synch using icloud. If I enter an item on the iphone, it appears on the macbook calendar but not the other way round. Any suggestions why this is happening and how to fix it?
