"Some Export Functions Were Not Performed"

I am running Lightroom 4.2 on Windows 8 and routinely receive the message "Some Export Functions Were Not Performed" / "File Cannot Be Written" when trying to export. I have 128GB of space available on the drive I am writing to, do not use a "Second Copy", and have full administrative rights to the drive. There were a couple times when I was able to export an image but when trying to repeat the same process they too now fail.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

More detail...
I eliminated GoodSync, Windows 8 Photo app, and Adobe PhotoShop Elements Organizer as the root of the problems as I was still experiencing the inability to export with these services totally disabled.
I still do not know the cause of the problem but when LR4 exports a file that it said it couldn't do successfully it creates an illegitimate JPG file in the destination folder and I am unable to delete the bad JPG file because LIGHTROOM has a lock on it.
I'm wondering if it is a Windows 8 issue.
Anyone else?

  • Some export operations were not performed

I have Lightroom 5. I've used it without any problems until now. When trying to export my images I get this message:
Some export operations were not performed
I don't know why this is happening. Searching on the internet didn't help me either, so please, can you help me?
    Best wishes

    Hi,
Did you ever manage to solve this? I get the same message, along with this "Could not create a jpeg that met your size limit of 700K" or something to that extent. My raw files are large, but I am fairly confident some files of similar size get exported while others don't. Why? And what can one do about it to predict what size limit will be problematic?
    Best,
    PL

  • Lightroom 4: Some export operations were not performed.

The above started happening a few days ago and I can't export from any directory. Is there I switch I inadvertantly set? Any help would be appreciated.

Have you checked <Include Video Files> in the Export Dialog?
    See screen shot:

  • Lightroom 5.7 - Flickr plugin fails to upload some photos,"Some export operations were not performed."

There are 5 specific images which the plugin refuses to upload. Rebooting, restarting, nothing helps.
Is there a solution or work-around?

Sporadic uploading problems have long been reported with the built-in Flickr plugin.  You might try this third-party Flickr plugin.  The author has an excellent reputation and actively maintains his plugins (in contrast to Adobe); in fact, the author designed the plugin publishing architecture for Adobe.

Oh, I bet that if you'd done a site search, you'd have got answers to both of those questions...

  • Trying to import RAW files but receiving "some import operation were not performed" error message.

Trying to import RAW files (from Canon 5D Mark III) but I'm receiving the following error message "some import operations were not performed". I am trying to copy to my Seagate backup drive, however the only destination it will let me copy to is my Lexar flash drive (where I don't want to store them!).  I've checked all the file permissions--everything says "read and write". Not sure where to start   I recently switched to an iMac where the problems started (never any issues importing into Lightroom on my PC--just slowness). Please help!

    NIKON D3300
The Nikon D3300 Raw format is not yet supported in Lightroom 5 (currently 5.3).
    http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/camera-raw-plug-supported-cameras.html
Raw file formats are proprietary to each camera manufacturer and specific to each camera model. Adobe's Camera Raw engine (used by both Adobe Camera Raw - as a plugin to Photoshop - and Lightroom) must be constantly updated with every new camera make and model which arrives on the market in order to read and edit Raw files from that camera.
Adobe has added support for the D3300 to Camera Raw 8.4 which is about to be released. It is a Release Candidate (RC status) at the moment. So D3300 Raw support will probably be added to the next soon-to-be-released Lightroom update (5.4).
    http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/cameraraw8-4-cc/?tabID=details#tabTop
In the meantime, you can download the free Adobe DNG Converter 8.4
    http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/cameraraw8-4.html
Using the DNG converter, you can then convert the D3300 Raw files to DNGs then open and edit the DNGs in Lightroom 5.3.
Once Lightroom 5.4 is released (assuming it also has D3300 support) the DNG conversion will no longer be required.

anyone having issues with importing CR2 files into lightroom 5 as error message comes up saying "Some import operations were not performed". please advise what is a solution please

Sounds like the folder Write permissions issue described here with a solution:
"Some import operations were not performed" from camera import

  • LR 5 "Some import operations were not performed." Following files not updated because could not be read

Having difficulty with LR5, can view photos on card while trying to import but receive following message "Some import operations were not performed."  "The following files were not updated because they could not be read."

Check your destination folder in LR at the top right of the Import panel.  LR cannot copy the photos there and so when it tries to import them they aren’t there and cannot be read.
In other words the “cannot be read” message indicates that photos cannot be written to the destination.

  • "Some import operations were not performed" from camera import

    Greetings,
I've been using LR3 for some time and have never had a problem importing before but starting last week (it worked fine on Tuesday, but failed starting Thursday), attempting to import directly from my Canon 7D has been producing this error dialog:
Importing directly into LR3 has worked with this camera since I got it a year ago so this problem is completely new to me.
I can import directly from the camera with Canon's utility, with Image Capture, and with iPhoto so nothing is wrong with the camera or the usb connection.
After impoting the photos from the camera to a folder on the computer with something other than LR3, I can then import those photos into LR from the disk without problems so nothing is wrong with the photo files themselves.
I have tried formatting the CF card, restarting LR3, and rebooting the computer.  Nothing has helped.
Not being able to import directly into LR3 is a pain, and one that I would like to go away.  Help?
    Thanks!
    LR 3.6; OS X 10.6.8; intel iMac
Additional information:  I just tried importing from the same camera with LR3 on my MBP and there were no problems so whatever is happening is unique to the instance of LR3 installed on my iMac.

If it is an ordinary folder, then you can use FInder.  Click on the folder in question and they press Command-i to bring up the info window for that folder.  At the bottom you should see a section labeled "Saring & Permissions" where you will see and have the ability to change what privigles various users and groups have with respect to that folder.  Make sure that you can write to it (on the line with your user name it should say "Read & Write", it it doesn't then change it to say that).
If however (as in my case) the issue is with a device file then the solution may be more complicated.  But since you don't mention an external drive I suspect that this isn't the case.

  • I get on 5.7 the following -- Some import operations were not performed -- then states it connot read the following files (which were all of my pictures) this is happening on a T3 and 6D

    it conn

"cannot be read" usually means that the destination directory (as shown in the Import dialog box, in the Destination Panel) has either
been accidentally changed, so change it back to whatever it used to be; or
does not have WRITE permission, so change your permissions on that directory

  • When I import photos to lightroom CC I get a message Some import operations were not performed. The following files were not imported because they could not be read.

Dsc_5122nef  dsc_5123JPG     Everything worked fine for the last week. The only thing changed is I removed lightroom 5. How can I reinstall Lightroom 5

Its a 100% failure. I was trying to import 37 photos all failed. I can still import into Lightroom 5. I also can import into Lightroom CC on my other Mac.  I tried importing from different cards, my other 7100 and my 5300 same problem. I have tried every combination of card reader, camera and computer I have.  The only only time the message shows up is when I try to import into Lightroom CC on my 27 in Mac. Thanks Art

  • LR 5.2 Export .mov file not performed

I am having issues with exporting photos along with a mov file. I am assuming that you can export photos along with video can you not?
I have tried and everytime when I do an export I get these messages that say "some export operations were not performed" ??
Since video is now becoming part of a wedding package I would like to export it all at once?

I have lets say 100 files, 2 of these are *mov files from a Canon 5D MKIII and the other 98 are raw files, when I go to export only the 98 raw files are exported not the 2 *mov files as I get these messages saying the export did not include these 2 files but  selected the video files in the export dialog box and left them as is but no luck.

  • LDEP and LALL expansion functions do not perform as expected

    Hi all
I really need some help on this issue:
System: SAP BPC NW 7.5 SP7
Problem: The EVDRE LDEP and LALL expansion functions do not perform as expected when combined with PARENTAFTER.
Example: Assume that PARENT_A is HLEVEL 1
    u2022     When using LDEP(5,PARENT_A),PARENTAFTER
u2022     HLEVEL 2 and 3 are displayed correctly with the members display first followed by the parent
u2022     However, all levels thereafter i.e. HLEVEL 4 + are displayed after their parent members
    Note:
u2022     It is not restricted to HLEVEL greater than 3
u2022     Problem level = N +2 where N is the HLEVEL of specified parent member within the LDEP or LALL formula

My experience is that LDEP and LALL are buggy in BPC 7.5 NW.  If you reference the documentation only MEMBERS, BASMEMBERS, BAS, DEP, ALL, SELF, NOEXPAND, GDEP, GBAS, and GALL are supported memberset parameters/functions.  My advice if you choose to mix the MS and NW worlds of BPC is to test VERY THOROUGHLY before productionizing any EVDRE since the MS functions are not officially supported by SAP in NW.

I got a new ipad mini and chose to set up as a copy of my iPad.  Didn't sync the music on however as it is a smaller model, not enough room.  Now trying to get some pictures and music on.  Chose some pictures that were not in iPhoto, got a message that I could only sync with one library, chose cancel, and apply and it downloaded my pictures anyway.  Now trying to sync some music but just get "The iPad “Linda’s iPad” is synced with another iTunes library. Do you want to erase this iPad and sync with this iTunes library?"  So I hit cancel.  Have tried several times, same thing. What can I try?

You should be able to accept this message, it will cause existing music, photos (not camera roll) and videos (also excluding those in camera roll) to be removed and replaced with those from this computer. All other user data on the iPad will be unaffected.
