Some Hyperlinks not Working in WebHelp

I have several hyperlinks to .gif image files. I hyperlink to
the .gif file and then choose to open in an auto sizing popup. Some
of the links work, and others don't. I've checked to make sure that
the properties for the ones that don't work are the same as those
that do, but even after making everything the same, I still cannot
view some of the files. Anyone have any ideas. I've gone through
the forum and nothing I've come across, yet, has helped. I'd
appreciate any assistance anyone could give.

Thanks Rick. I just added my image file to the Baggage Files
and the hyperlink now works. If you'll indulge me, though, I have a
follow-up question. I'm using RH in the Adobe Tech Comm Suite. I
actually added all my image files to the primary project folder and
most of those image files are hyperlinked in my system, and the
links work. Would you have any idea why some hyperlinks work and
some don't? Also, would you suggest that I add all my image files
to the Baggage to ensure the links work when I place the WebHelp on
my server. Thanks for your help on this.

when I open any website,especially ones like Screwfix and it says click to enlarge, nothing happens yet if I click on a link to another page it goes there or if it is a link to further down the text.
it also happens on a banking site . in the header it has 'help' this does not work,yet if I go to the help in the body of the site and click on help it goes there. all these sites work OK in IE. this has only started since I updated to 3.6.

The key here is that something in Lion is corrupting the font cache for Safari. One could jump ship and simply use Firefox or Chrome and wait until AAPL fixes Safari or whatever is causing the issue. I was thinking that finally letting FontAgent Pro start managing the System Fonts might do the trick but there's a bug there that won't let me authorize the caper. So, now I gotta engage Insider over that issue.
What I might do is to see what Font Book can do for a minute…

Some hyperlinks not working

I have a 2-part presentation. The first part consists of a looping set of slides with animations, each including an icon designated as a hyperlink. The hyperlink goes to the second part of the presentation, which is the main slideshow. I find there is no response as I hover over the hyperlink on some of the slides with heavier animation and I am forced to wait for certain slides to appear to activate the hyperlink. Unfortunately, I have a small time window to jump from the first slideshow to the second. The folks at the Genius Bar said they were aware of this issue and suggested I save the first part to video and incorporate it into the second part. I find this unacceptable as there is some degradation of quality in the transitions and animations.

I had the same issue and was able to solve it by doing the following: I noticed that on page 2 of your site you have one text block that actually shows up as text and not a png. (the G-Tech G-Raid Hard Drive section). Back up the site so that you can retype each of your sections again. Delete the text sections that come up as pngs. Click on the section that comes up as text and option drag that text block up to where the other text sections belong. You will have an exact copy of the text block. Now, replace the repeated text with the desired text. Repeat this process until all your png "text" is replaced with real text boxes.

I had to do this for every person's bio on the site.
When I created this site, I was already aware of the problem, so I employed my fix at the beginning. However, when I did my first site:

It drove me nuts!
Also note that any special text effects create a png text block. Any small graphic copy and pasted in a text block, also generate the png text block.

Some PDFs not working in Preview. Mac created PDFS work but windows created PDFS dont

Some PDFs not working in Preview. I installed adobe reader and then deleted it because the software was aweful and PDFs have been haveing issues ever since. I can open up PDFs created on my Mac in preview just fine...
But when I try and open a PDF created on a windows computer it says:

I am not sure why where the PDF was created would make a difference but couldnt help but notice that was the difference between the PDF files that work and the ones that give that message. I can view the PDFs on a windows computer just fine and never had issues untill adobe, it seems to have messed up PDFs on my Mac and I am so frustrated with them. I have searched my computer for any remaining adobe files, deleted them and restarted my computer but I am still getting this message.

Uninstall Adobe Reader's plug-in.
Remove the following two files from /Library/Internet Plug-Ins/:
AdobePDFViewer.plugin
AdobePDFViewerNPAPI.plugin
Open Safari Preferences > Extensions. Do you see AdobePDFViewer? If yes. disable.
Log out/in and test.
Another option is to download and install this plugin. Schubert|it PDF Browser Plugin . PDF Browser Plugin 2 is free for not-for-profit activities if used at home or at educational institutions.

Search not working in WebHelp

I have a project containing hundreds of table definitions,
for each I have created a separate topic. For example one such
table is FR_STAN_RAW_BOOK and I have created a topic of the same
name. The topic is in the TOC and indexed but when I try and search
for it using the Search bar in the WebHelp toolbar or the
naviagtion pane on the left, the topic is not listed. I'v tried
using wildcard characters too but still no results. Any
ideas?

Wildcards do not work in webhelp.
I would experiment with:
- Creating a new topic with a different name but copying the
code from the body section so that the topic is otherwise
identical.
- Changing the name.
- Trying it without underscores (may not be an acceptable
solution but might reveal the problem)

Keyboard: some keys not working

Some keys not working. Need help/suggestions. Not great with computers so PLEASE give details/steps re: how to do what you suggest - thanks!
Details: intel based iMac running snow leopard 10.6.8. Apple wireless/bluetooth keyboard (came with the iMac).
Some keys suddenly stopped working: space, tab, capLock, option key to the right of space bar (one on the left works), down arrow
The problem happens in various programs (safari, pages, etc)
The keyboard is fine on another iMac
A different keyboard is fine on this/the involved iMac
(nutshell: keyboard works fine - computer works fine, unless they're together)
Here's what's been tried/checked:
-checked the settings for universal access ("mouse keys" are off) and checked for any bluetooth keyboard shortcuts.
-in system preferences "speech" is not set for "speak selected text when the key is pressed" - this is not checked/selected
-tried creating a new user but had the same issue so it's computer-wide rather than just a user account
-removed the keyboard and reconnected (using the +/- signs and "disconnect" and putting in a new code of numbers to pair keyboard)
-language/text is set for english
-did the keyboard viewer and the keys in question did NOT highlight when pressed (but don't forget the entire keyboard is fine on a different computer so thekeys aren't the issue)
-"slow keys" is turned off re: keyboard in system preferences.
Any help is welcomed. It's frustrating knowing the keyboard works, just not with this computer. Please help. Many thanks!

I have downloaded a trial version of Dreamweaver CS6 to my MacBook. Why do some features not work? I have OSX 10.6.8. I am using this trial version for a class I am taking on coding webpages using Dreamweaver. there are features I am using in class that will not open up or appear as options when I use the trial version. Are certain features locked out until I buy a copy or download a purchased copy?

Trial versions have no functional limitations, though your setup/situation might not be supportive of all functionality. You'll need to identify specific issues to get help with them. You should be posting in the DW forum instead of here if your issue does not have to do with downloading/installing.

I have created an E-Bulletin template and from this distribute a fortnighly issue. I distribute this by sending a hyperlink in the body of an email as follows:

I have not had any problems until yesterday and have received a few complaints from our members stating that when they open this edition all they get is text links which do not work, yet others do not have a problem. I had this problem when I sent it to my personal home computer using IE 7, and normally I do not have any problem opening it, and have not needed to use any other browser. I have also provided a link to the previous E-Bulletin for March http://www.scec.org.au/E-Bulletin_25th_March_2011.html which I and others had no problem opening, to see if you can see what the problem is between the two. I am not very good with techno stuff so could your answer be simple please.

As a follow on from the above, I figured out that the template I made which has previously worked ok is now not synchronising.The template is a dwt file, is saved in the tmplate folder and the site root folder so I do not know what is going on as I haven't changed it in any way.
After synchronising the error log says:
File activity incomplete 1 file were not completed
Files skipped:7
Files with errors: 1
Templates\e-bulletin template.dwt

Some hyperlinks not appearing in generated Word doc

When I generate a Word document, some of the hyperlinks show up, but not all.
I looked at Peter Grainge's site under Printed Documentation and issues, but didn't find anything that matched my problem. I also looked here on the forum, but didn't find anything.
I have a feeling it's a problem with style mapping because the links that aren't showing up are those that appear in lists (both ol and ul).
In other words, if I put a link in a paragraph that's a regular <p></p> paragraph, it appears in the Word doc and the link itself works.
If I put it in a <li></li> paragraph, the link does not carry over; there is no blue underlining and if you mouse over what should be a hyperlink, the cursor does not change to a hand icon.
Can anyone provide any suggestions?
I'm using RoboHelp 9 and Word 2010.

RoboHelp 10. I recently had a similar problem with hyperlinks not appearing in the PrintedDoc output, despite the following settings:
Conditional Build Expression = None
TOC = Default Table Of Contents, which contains all the topics that I want to appear in the output, but does not include every topic in the HTML Files (Topics) folder.
Retain hyperlinks
By comparing hyperlinks in a number of topics with the Word page, I found that hyperlinks in the Word document are not active when the target topic is in the root folder, but is not included in the TOC.
In the Print Document Content dialog box, I typically select TOC>Show all topics and click the double right-pointing arrows so that all the topics in the default TOC are in the right pane.
When I realized that hyperlinks to root topics were not active, I added the topics to the document content. To do this, I selected Top Level Folder and then selected each topic whose Help icon is white (i.e. not in the TOC) and clicked the right-pointing arrow to move it to the Content pane.
However, to make me happy on a Friday afternoon: "Internal error encountered. Failed to generate Printed Documentation".
I tried generating again, and now RH appears to be stuck on "Updating images". This happened the other day, too, and I waited 10 minutes before understanding that RH would stay stuck forever and would never even crash .
Here's what I think will resolve this particular issue. I'll put the renegade topics in the Default TOC so that hyperlinks to them will be active. This is not a problem for my end users because I don't generate their output from the Default TOC -- my project has five other TOCs that are used to generate WebHelp Pro. I only use the Default TOC to:
Edit topics in any module without having to open each individual TOC
Generate a "Test ALL" SSL that contains everything, so that I can search more easily across modules
Generate PrintedDoc for reviewers
Hope this information is useful to anyone who encounters this type of problem.

Crystal Report (visual studio 2005)-Hyperlink not working on exported PDF

I have created a crystal report by using VS 2005, there are some hyperlinks inside the report.
After i exported the report to PDF, I check the PDF file, none of the link contains inside the PDF file.
It seems a bug, i google this issue, some people can export to RTF first and then in RTF save as PDF, then the link should be there. I tried it, it works, but it totally mess up my report layout.

I have 2 pdf files, one has extensive bookmarks which do not work. The other pdf has anchor links to refer you to certain areas in the document some work and some do not. How can i fix this in Acrobat Pro 11

you right click there is no info given only document properties. Any idea
