Some icons missing on KDE

So I just installed Arch and then xorg and then KDE, and what happens is this:

I am missing some icons and visuals on "basic" stuff like buttons...

solved it... partially... I think I solved the missing icopns with
pacman -S gtk-chtheme
but non-kde buttons and all other windows objects are still ugly...

CS4 Extended - Some Icons missing

I had the same problem. It also caused some issues in CS3 with the selection tools.
Remove Nik software if it's present in your plugins folder. For me the specific folder that fixed it was named "penpalette." Once I deleted this the icons came back and the program worked much better and more smoothly.

Some icons miss (AE, Prelude, extended scripts)

I have just suscribed a creative cloud plan. In order to avoid the non-ending downloading with adobe application manager, I used my previous creative suite master collection trial version (CS6).
Everything works well, I was recognized and the desktop applications works and recognize my AdobeID as valid.
BUT
When I did the last update (with adobe updater) (after 4hours of downloading for 900Mo !!), some icons are missing : After Effetcs, prelude, and Adobe Extended scripts :
I run my creative cloud mainly on win7 pro destop computer.
2nd BUT :
The Adobe Application Manager don't see my installed program. I saw in other posts that it is a known issue.

We really apologize for all the inconvenience which has caused you.
If one or more of your icons are not displaying correctly, or that your icon cache is corrupted, then you might consider rebuilding the icon cache to reset and reload the icon images into the icon cache.
The icon cache is located at the hidden system folder location below:
C:\Users\User-Name\AppData\Local\IconCache.db
In the meanwhile if these steps doesnt resolve your issues you can contact Adobe support by following the link below:

Some Icons missing

I am missing some icons on my iphone 4. They are not completely gone. Frame of these icons with application names are intact. Just the picture of some of the icons are missing. I have tried syncing my iphone with the computer, but the issue is not resolved. Missing icons are all downloaded applications. All native apps icons are intact. It just happened this morning. Does anyone have a solution?

I have the same problem: iPhone 3G on version 4.2.1. Only some downloaded icons pictures missing. There is a blank frame with the label below. The applications work well. The pictures are intact in iTunes and the very same apps are intact on my iTouch. Rebooting and restoring the back up makes no difference.

I had to reinstall gnome today because I had accidently deleted all themes in /usr/share/themes and for that, gdm wasnt starting. After that everything works fine, only issue is that I cant see icons of some applications as seen below.

as you see icons of some apps like amarok, 7zipFM etc got replaced by the default icon. They used to show their normal icons before the reinstallation, and changing the icons via gnome-tweak-tool doesnt help.
All help will be appreciated. Thanks.

Are the icons missing when you use other icon themes like the default? Have you installed "alacarte" from AUR? You can then go in and change invdividual icons. Sometimes you have to restart gnome-shell for the changes to take place. "Alt-F2 then r"

[Solved] Gnome 3 Shell - Icons Missing After Update

After my last update session, some icons went missing in Gnome. Even more unsettling, only some are missing. From what I can tell, my application icons haven't gone anywhere, but things such as minimize, restore, close, etc. are 404. Here's a photo to explain: https://vps.nullh.net/uploads/gnome-icon-issue.png I also noticed nvidia is included in the last update. I searched the forums, but all of the other problems seemed to be different problems (e.g. application icons were all bunched up/missing, desktop icons "missing", etc.) I feel like I should probably have more icons in the folders, too, but I haven't looked in there before the problem to be sure. Also, Alt+F2 "r" doesn't make a difference, the shell reloads but the icons are still AWOL. If anyone has any ideas, I am all ears.

I ran gnome-shell --replace to try to get some logs out of it. Apparently, it doesn't know how vector files work any more.

Nokia Maps Icon Missing?

Good day everyone.
i have just bought this new Nokia Asha 303 phone and i thought the software installed in the phone is incomplete because i cant seem to find the shortcut for nokia maps. I installed the nokia suite in my pc and check for software updates and it is up to date. I already tried factory reset, but nothing, still the same. Is it possible to restore the missing icon? thanks for any help.

Right after having my new phone I started exploring its possibilities testing applications from Ovi store. At some point I got some problems with an application so I decided it would be a good idea to try a reset... I first try with an app settings reset to defaults (from the s40 Configuration menu, not the Restoring Factory Defaults menu)... right after that I realized I didn't have Nokia Maps icon in any of the lists of installed applications, nor I could found any loader in both file units, phone and memory card, for it... I was not 100% sure the icon vanished after settings reset, but I supposed it, so I thought something went definitely wrong and I decided to try reset to factory defaults as I just started testing the phone so I hadn't any information saved there to lose... what I could not expect it's that a factory reset will not yield the software at the same very state as what I received short time before. In addition to not getting back the Nokia Maps icon, I noticed another difference in the system, I have an Introduction icon in the list of default applications, that triggers a video playback showing the phone basics... now when I push that button, the playback starts but only for the audio, and instead of the video I show a black screen with a NOKIA logo in the center, the same very screen I see when boot up the phone. Is blocking 3rd party cookies preventing some icons on sites' menus from showing?

I've noticed a problem in last several Fx versions where certain sites' menus & internal links - don't show icon images (for some).
Like menus on a credit card site, once logged in. Or certain webmail menu icons.

It's relatively few sites - but some are important. I also noticed that any icons / images that are a problem in Fx, display in IE 9, though IE settings show 3rd party cookies blocked.
Tried a new, clean profile w/ the Fx install I was using (35.0.1). All the icon images (on sites that previously had problems) seemed to display, as long as "Accept Cookies from site" was checked & 3rd party cookies were allowed.
In the clean profile, disabling 3rd party cookies seemed to cause some icons not to show. But in IE, 3rd party cookies are "supposedly" blocked, & the icons display in it.
Obviously, the problem isn't addons - problem can be reproduced in clean profile.
Also tried a clean Fx install in another folder. Same results as above - as with my old Fx install & a clean profile.

Missing icons are usually supplied by a font that is downloaded from the server (@font-face) as you might see by little boxes that show the hex code of the characters instead.
Make sure that you allow pages to choose their own fonts.
*Tools > Options > Content : Fonts & Colors > Advanced: [X] "Allow pages to choose their own fonts, instead of my selections above"
You can check the gfx.downloadable_fonts.enabled pref on the about:config page and make sure that it is set to true (if necessary double-click the line to toggle its value).
You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar.
You can accept the warning and click "I'll be careful" to continue.

I have icons missing on OSX mavericks in Launchpad

hi guys,
how would i remedy this bug? in my context menu (open with) i am constantly seeing missing icons for apps and then in launchpad i have icons missing again, only the name appearing. if i click on them they do still open apps if i click on them but id like to see the blooming icons still!!!
this is ever since i updated OSX mavericks to the latest version. 10.9.1 i think.
please help or if u are experiencing it too lemme know if theres anything we can do!
i dont want to uninstall and then re-install these apps so that is not an option!

If they were purchased from iTunes then connect the phone to your Mac's iTunes and the File > Devices > Transfer Purchases should copy them over. If they came from other sources (e.g. copied from CDs) then you will need a third-party program on your Mac to copy them back - there are some listed half-way down this page : Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.
If by 'missing' you mean that you have them listed in the Music part of your iTunes library but get the 'would you like to locate' message when trying to play them then you will need to delete them from there for the Transfer Purchases to work - otherwise that will see those entries in your library and assume that you still have them somewhere and not copy them back.

D-fest,
I was upset about the YouTube app as well, and my initial impressions were that the Apple YouTube app was better, but after using it a bit I realized the Google YouTube app was actually better. Some of the features are initially not obvious (in this case it was a matter of what I was used to), but they are all there and more. It seems to generally work better too.
I don't stream an awful lot, but I have not experienced any wifi drops while doing so yet.

Kde4 menu icons missing

In kde4 I have lot of icons missing in the kmenu like amarock help etc etc All I have is "?" signs , is there anyway to regenerate kmenu icons in kde4

Try setting up another admin user account to see if the same problem continues. If Back-to-My Mac is selected in System Preferences, the Guest account will not work. The intent is to see if it is specific to one account or a system wide problem. This account can be deleted later.
Isolating an issue by using another user account
If the problem is still there, try booting into the Safe Mode using your normal account. Disconnect all peripherals except those needed for the test. Shut down the computer and then power it back up after waiting 10 seconds. Immediately after hearing the startup chime, hold down the shift key and continue to hold it until the gray Apple icon and a progress bar appear. The boot up is significantly slower than normal. This will reset some caches, forces a directory check, and disables all startup and login items, among other things. When you reboot normally, the initial reboot may be slower than normal. If the system operates normally, there may be 3rd party applications which are causing a problem. Try deleting/disabling the third party applications after a restart by using the application un-installer. For each disable/delete, you will need to restart if you don't do them all at once.

N95 icons missing

i seem to be missing some icons in my tools menu! i watched the demo of settin up wireless networks and it seems the bottom 3 icons are missin... this includes the home network application!! how can i get these on my phone??

What, exact, 3 icons are listed in the demo? And do you have a link to that particular demo?
E.g., he "Home media" app on my N95 8GB (not the original N95) is under menu > Tools > Connectivity, if that's what you mean with "home network application".
So, look around the menu and the submenus/subfolders (and the submenus/subfolders of them, in case what you are looking for is buried deeper than where it was in the demo you saw).

Airplay Icon missing from iTunes 11.0.2.26 (PC) and Genius Sidebar

After upgrading to iTunes 11.0.2.26 my Airplay icon is missing. I've tried the simple fix that reportedly works where you switch to mini player, see the Airplay icon and then it stays when you switch to normal mode.
Firstly the icon does appear but it is grayed out and only pops up a volume control. It does not detect, display, or allow you to select output devices, Second, it is still missing from the normal size window.
This has been tried with and without restarting iTunes as well as reinstalling iTunes. I'd go for a downgrade but then it fails to work with the new iPads at all. I discovered that with my first iPad mini where it required an iTunes upgrade.
Genious Sidebar
I figured Id just downgrade to 10.6.3 to get the genius sidebar back afterwards. WRONG, it will not synch or do anything without the newer versions of the iTunes software. Genius sidebar was the best thing about the software and they kept taking it away, brought it back for a few versions, then took it away again. It was and remains my favorite way to shop for new music. The remaining so called genius functions are just plain lame.
Airplay Icon Missing from Itunes on PC
I can hit my Airplay devices such as Apple TV and Zeppelin Air with iPads, iPods, and iPhones. Just not from the PC Console where is previously enjoyed it the most. So I know the devices are fine. They are all on the same physical wired and wireless network. Even when I put the Zeppelin on the wired LAN there is no Airplay icon in iTunes on the PC.

NOW! i can tell you in my case it was nothing to do with your router or antyvirus ip connection.
my pc is auto updating every sunday and icon has disappeared on monday i realized this fact and i have started uninstalling windows updates one by one after each uninstall i have restarted PC each time always run itunes and check if airplay icon is back. AND THER SHE WAS fiew windows updates uninstalled and icon is back in itunes
Now i can not remember what Update it was KB28 ..... something i didnt wright it down at the time i hope this will help someone.

- Select
Can anybody point me in the right direction?
