Some improves

I'd like to share the iPod users with some thoughts that raise in my brain.
So, firstly the iPod touch is really a great, handy and very useful device. It does almost everything like a PC or a Mac.
But, indeed that it is a great device, even the iPod is not perfect and need some improvements like the follows:
1. The ability to delete songs or rename them or edit the songs details like the album photo, the artist name, the genre and more many properties isn't building into the iTunes program which reside on the device.  and it is very מפליא because almost every mp3 media player which is sold in the market has this simple ability to delete songs straight from the device, and I think that apple must to fix it soon.
2. The ability to rename other files name like PDF on the iBook app or other books format or rename the name of some other programs or the files who associated with them.
3. The ability to show some basic properties about a file or an app like his weight, and so on should be added to the next iOS which will be released.
4. Sometimes you give your iPod to your friend in order to do with  it some activities like send his mails or play some games etc. and you are worried about your personal data which resides on your iPod. so I think that this is very necessary that at the future iOS apple will add to iOS a security property that will enable the user to block all his personal data like notes, contacts, mail safari bookmarks and other personal data.
If some of the forum readers has additional ideas, they will be very appreciated!!
Best regards!!
Atar.

Some improvements to the stream reconnect logic.
    Modified Paths:
        osmf/trunk/framework/OSMF/org/osmf/net/NetConnectionFactory.as
        osmf/trunk/framework/OSMF/org/osmf/net/NetLoader.as

"Is it intended to cope with NetConnection.Connect.IdleTimeOut of FMS disconnecting clients after some time of inactivity?"
The answer is no. Stream reconnect is all about trying to reconnect in the event of a dropped network connection. For the IdleTimeOut scenario, listen for the MediaErrorEvent.MEDIA_ERROR event on the MediaPlayer and check for an error of MediaErrorCodes.NETCONNECTION_TIMEOUT. You can handle that however you wish in your player.

  • Some improvement to hot plg CPUs and RAM in Solaris 11?

    Hi,
We plan to use Solaris 11 in VMWare environment. As all of you know, you can add CPUs and RAM on the fly depending on the guest operating system. A lot of Windows versions can handle that, and some Linux (64bits based) distros as well.
That's not possible in Solaris (at least in Solaris 9 and 10): http://vmwarethiru.blogspot.com/2011/04/vsphere-support-for-memory-hot-add-and.html
Is there some improvement on this? I mean... it will be possible to add CPU and RAM from the VMWare hypervisor when you're using Solaris 11 as a guest?
I seems a virtual provider (VMWare in this case) issue, but it's not: it depends on the guest operating system capabilities.

    Really good news!
In Linux kernel, the module need is called acpi_hotpug, so I suppose that internally they´re using as well the ACPI events.
As you said, another thing will be if the VMWare guys will take profit of this new feature.
Can you point me out some documentation about?
    Thanks.

  • Is It Possible To Advice Some Improvement Areas to HTMLDB Development Team?

    I couldnt find any documentation for Release 2 but I saw at htmldb.oracle.com During my project experience in 1.6 I think these may be some improvement areas;
    Debug feature for plsql processes,
    Preview option while developing,
    Sql prosesor’s autocommit problem,
For some wizards too many next next windows
    Kind regards.

    Dear Aandi,
I am really thankful to you for this. I will suggest this to the business and then they can contact adobe for this. Thanking you once again for providing me with all the valueable info. You have been instrumental in helping me out in my project.

  • The web photo album command needs some improvement

First I'd like to thanks for the
    web
photo album command embed with Dreamweaver. My job requires me
create photo albums with thousands of pictures, it saves a lot of
    time for me.
Now I'd like to ask someone to improve this fuction. I need
to click the thumbnails on the index page to pop-up a window that
show up the detail picture page (If I can key in the pop-up window
size in the command UI will be perfect). Currently this album
generator only links to the large picture's page. I need to make
them to a pop-up window for each manually (thousands of them).
    I tried
    Web
Photo Album 2.2 for Dreamweaver 8 and MX 2004, V2.2.6, it
doesn't have this function either. Compare to the web photo album
command in Dreamweaver, it can't generate filename to caption in
the detail picture page automatically (You can key in captions in
    Fireworks manually though).
If someone can improve the web photo album command to pop-up
window available, I think use "close window" link instead of the
link to the album index page in the detail picture's page will be
    helpful.

  • Need some "Export Layers to File" script, but with some improvements

Hey guys, anyone knows if there's a script who does the same "Export Layers to File" but like this:
*Save layers in .PNG with transparency (Trim/Save/etc)  Ok, the original script already does that.
*File created with the Layer Name ( Ex: Layer named as "Forum"  saved as Forum.png )
*Layers inside photoshop groups, saved in folders with the group name. ( Ex: Group named "Header" with layer "Logo" inside goes like that C:/Header/Logo.png )
Anyone knows about the existence of such a great scritpt like this one ? ^^
    Thanks a lot

    This might do...

If you select "Save all layers within all LayerSets" it will give you the option of LayersetName - LayerName

  • LR2.1 - some improvements - some new issues

So far I've been pleasantly surprised with the 2.1 upgrade. My biggest issue, using the local adjustments brush in the dev module, has been corrected and the performance is as I would have expected from the first release.
However, I do have a few new issues that I did not have with LR2 or with the 2.1 beta. The graduated filter is still very slow and choppy and the spot heal brush is now very slow and choppy as well. Any one else seeing the same?
Another issue that was introduces on my system on the 2.1 beta was deleting pictures from the library. It takes anywhere from 10 to 30 seconds to get control back after I hit the delete key and OK to the confirmation box. Does anyone have any suggestions? My catalog is fairly small, less than 10,000 pictures with a single top level folder.
    Cheers,
    -Doug

I find delete takes a long time, on both Vista and XP - up to 10 seconds per image.
I have had LR 2.1 crash while using the graduated filter, the brush and the slideshow.
The brush is quite fast, but I still have to be careful to be deliberate and not get too far ahead.
I have never found the slideshow reliable and stable in any version.
Otherwise, I am quite happy with LR 2.1.

  • Keyword Bugs and Some Keywording Improvement / Feature Suggestions

Tagging Bugs and Some Improvement / Feature Suggestions
Please excuse where I should use the word Tag or Keyword or vice versa!
    1.       BUG?    If a tag synonym is added or changed then all affected photos should be marked for re-publish.  I do not think this currently happens.   Should this possibly be considered a bug?
    2.       BUG?    When viewing a smart collection in a Flickr publish service and a new tag is added to a photo it is correctly moved to the “requires re-publish” section.   However … the thumb selection in the grid moves to the next photo, the loop view remains on the photo just tagged and the key wording still reflects the just tagged photo.    The selection shown in the grid appears to be wrong.      When working quickly this can result in tagging errors as the user looking on the grid believes he is working on the next highlighted photo in the grid.      This is surely a bug?
    3.       BUG?      A minor point and I realise this is probably not the correct way to do things … but a double word synonym entered with quotes for example “Ice Climbing” will create two tags “Ice” and “Climbing” at the flicker end of things.    Removal of this synonym and forcing a re-publish does not delete these two tags at the flicker end of things.    I may have miss-understood, but perhaps it is best for LR not to allow quoted tags?
    4.       SUGGESTION      An easier and more powerful way to review tagging of current photos should be provided whereby it is possible to clearly see the current tagging of a photo and have immediate access to the keyword list at the same time to make corrections.    Having both the Keywording and Keyword List panels open in Library mode results in a lot of up and down scrolling for me and is a slightly inelegant UI in my opinion.   I would suggest it should at very least be possible to have the tags viewable in Loop info as an option - so long as no truncation is made and all tags visible.    Ideally a better way should be sought.
    5.       SUGGESTION      It would be very useful when reviewing tagging to select to show all photos in the currently selected folder or set which do not contain the selected tag.    Note, I don’t think this can be easily achieved by using a keyword filter and selecting all keywords and unselecting the tag of interest as the pictures may have many tags.    The same might be performed by textual based searches but this is inelegant and its slowness precludes a browsing approach.     For example – for me it would be useful to look at all my mountain shots in a trip which have not been tagged with “Glacier” and it will be immediately visually apparent where I need to make tagging corrections.    I would suggest a “Not” checkbox is made available on the top of each column in the library filter – this may also provide a great deal of power for other situations.
    6.       SUGGESTION      It would be useful to allow a means of showing all pictures with a certain tag but which have not been tagged yet with any children of said tag.   For example all pictures tagged with Glacier which I have not yet named the glacier by introducing a relevant child tag or selecting an existing child tag.    A similar situation occurs for wildlife and potentially many other scenarios … I would like to use a tag “Butterfly” which I can quickly use on my first pass… and then do the identification and child tagging on a second pass using appropriate filtering.   This allows for a step wise or “top down” approach to tag classifying things in a workflow.    I appreciate this can be achieved (as I do now) by using a child tag called “Unnamed butterfly” or “Unnamed Glacier” but it seems more powerful, elegant and generically applicable to be able to filter on a “not tagged with a child” basis.
I apologise if I have missed the point on some existing functionality on any of these points and welcome any suggestions.

    This is a great post.
I couldn't have written it myself better.
I'm also in dying need of Korean input as I can't communicate with my Korean friends.

  • How to improve performance of photo albums and navigation?

I just uploaded the latest version of my new website (www.raydunakin.com) last night. I've made a lot of changes in an effort to make it load faster and work more smoothly. There is some improvement but on my Mac, with dialup, there are still some issues.
One big issue is photo albums. I don't understand why they load so slowly, when it's only loading thumbnail images. The thumbnails are too small to account for the excessive load time. Often there are several that don't load up all until sometime after I click the browser's Stop button.
Which is another issue: Why does it keep loading stuff after I've clicked Stop?
I've stripped my albums down to just 15 images per album, so the number of images shouldn't be a problem.
BTW, I gave up on using the "My Albums" template, which was impossibly slow. Instead I just have a page with a list of links to each album.
I'm wondering if having everything all in one site might be causing some of the speed problems. Would I be better off moving my photo album pages to a separate site and just link to them from the main site?
One more question: Many of my hypertext links are not displaying correctly. They are supposed to all be underlined and in a different color from the plain text. Some of them do show up this way, but some look like plain text until you move the cursor over them. (And yes, I have used the Inspector to set the format for all the links.)
Also, if anyone would like to browse my site and suggest other ways to improve or streamline it, I would appreciate it.
Thanks in advance for any help or comments you can provide.
    I'm running OS X 10.4.10, Safari 2.0.4, and iWeb 2.0.3

To me it's not taking all that much time... It's quite normal if you're publishing to .Mac... The .Mac server is quite slow, that's a known issue... Partially it may also be due to the template used but I don't think so... There aren't a lot of graphics on that one...
Often there are several that don't load up all until sometime after I click the browser's Stop button.
Which is another issue: Why does it keep loading stuff after I've clicked Stop?
I didn't came across any that didn't load and when I hit stop it stops.

No that's not the issue. The site size doesn't matter as when you look at a page the browser only retrieves the information about that very page and doesn't even see all the other pages as it follows the links to retrieve the parts of that very page and that's it. What matters is the page size but it isn't heavy at all in your case...
One more question: Many of my hypertext links are not displaying correctly. They are supposed to all be underlined and in a different color from the plain text. Some of them do show up this way, but some look like plain text until you move the cursor over them. (And yes, I have used the Inspector to set the format for all the links.)
You may try a "Publish all" from the File menu for that... Or empty the cache of your browser...
Also, if anyone would like to browse my site and suggest other ways to improve or streamline it, I would appreciate it.
I like it it's very clean and easy to navigate.
One other problem with the photo albums that I forgot to mention... When clicking on a thumbnail to view the larger image, while the image loads it looks like nothing is happening. There's no evidence that the image is loading or anything. So by the time the larger image appears, I've already attempted to move on. Is there anything that can be done about this?
It takes a second to load but in the end it does load... To me it's the server's slowness even if not publishing to .mac...

    Cédric

  • Some applications relaunch themselves automatically after I quit them

Certain applications will relaunch automatically after a few seconds after i quit them (CMD-Q or Application menu, Quit).
This happens on a new Macbook Pro retina 13 inch restored from a Time Machine backup of my Macbook Air 11 inch. The behaviour is not present in the Macbook Air.

It seems that you are Turkish as me But I will give my answer in English so that it can be helpful for others facing same problem.
I've faced same problem after latest firmware upgrade. It seems that latest upgrade has compatibility issues with Java applications, since I don't know whether you realized or not, the applications that are not working are java applications. I didn't try yet but a hard format may be a solution for this problem. Also we have to inform Nokia Support Department about that issue and they must make some improvements about that problem.
    Good luck

  • Improvements for s60v5

I believe that hardware of s60v5 is quite powerful but it is not being fully use. The things that I would like to have in s60v5 phones 1 support for apps like nokia social which integrate contacts with social sites. Another softs like bubbles, sleeping screen, augmented reality, etc 2.Improved gallery like photo browser from betalabs 3. Widget home screen: home screen of these phones offers enough functionality but no one would like to have just four shortcuts on big touch screen. More customization of home screen, ability to add widgets and move them.

Wether it is possible or not is somewhat irrelivent , it won't happen, the resources required are simply not practicle for Nokia's plans ! I'm sure there will be support and some improvements offered to S60v5 but the main support (untill it stops in 2014 will be for the current and future Symbian^3 phones. I have the N97 which I expect to remain as it is as the hardware is nor capable of any more performance than it already has, and NO software improvement can increase the size of the C memory. I also have the E7, which with the adequate memory and processing power is a thoroughly enjoyable experience. My suggestion would be to get one of the current range and enjoy what's left of Symbian development before it finally gets killed off !

  • FTP login and password are not saved on some sites

On some of my sites the FTP login and password are not saved
(even though the "saved" box is checked). Dreamweaver 8.0 on XP
SP2. I can export the site information and then import the same
file exported and there still will be no login or password placed
in the login or password window. I opened the exported .ste files
in notepad and found the login correct and the password incorrect.
I uninstalled Dreamveaver and reinstalled still same
    problem.

Ok, I just spent about 3 hours on this. Here's the latest
that I've found. I had looked at the knowledgebase and my registry
matched what was suggested. As this has been an ongoing issue for
me, I thought it was still an issue. Apparently 8.02 did have some
    improvements.
I can only guess that many of the 36 sites I have in the Site
Manager lost info before the .02 update.. or I hope so.
I did however discover that there is still what could be
considered a minor bug. I went in to Manage Sites and selected edit
for all of my sites, fixing the ones that had lost their user/pass
info. I'm not positive, but I think only the last edited site kept
    it's data.
I discovered after many checks on all the sites, over and
over and over, that it appears that they are now holding the data,
but, if I add the user/pass, I must not only click the OK button to
close that particular site, but I must also click the 'Done' button
before only that one will be saved.
So, I thought I was fixing logins when in fact I was only
fixing one at a time.. Completely closing 'Manage Site' seemed to
hold one new set of login data each time. Seems that it shouldn't
    be this way.
But I must say, I am rejoicing at the moment, as I actually
have all my sites set up with FTP info and I am now looking forward
to hopefully adding more and maybe they'll actually be available
    for the next editing session.

  • Why are some pictures blurred in IMovie slideshow

I have used IMovie to make slideshows mixed with videos for years. I have even made one recently which was perfect. Suddenly, some of the photos, though crystal clear in the timeline are blurred when set in motion. Certain transitions seem to cause the affect, but, it is hard to figure out why and which ones do it. IMovie seems to record the show in 1080 HD (1920 x 1080) whatever that might mean. When I tried sharing it to ITunes in both HD 720p (1280 x 720) or Large 540p, there is some improvement, but not on all. I am at a total loss as to what to do.

Sounds like you are in Browser view, not the Viewer view.
Is anything reported in the Activity window ("Window→Show Activity")?
What happens if you select all and then while pressing "Option" execute "Photos→Generate Previews"?

  • Improving Video Quality?

Video quality doesn't appear as good as it did when Steve demonstrated it some time ago when more than two are video chatting. I'm using a PowerMac G5 QUAD with iSight camera and invite the first person on my home network via Bonjour everything looks good, but when I invite the second person on my home network via Bonjour, both invitees pictures go blury. The other two machines are a Core 2 Duo iMac and a Core 2 Duo MacBook with built in cameras. All three machines are connected to the LAN at 1000 Base T speeds and all three are connected to the same Gigabit switch (which is a LinkSys Gigabit switch). All three have Quicktime Streaming configured for 1.5 Mbps/T1/LAN. iChat is configured to not limit the bandwith.
I would have expected a clear picture when my two guests are connected, but as soon as the second guest connects, the two guest pictures become blury. They also report the same thing. Is there anything else I can do to improve the picture quality? How did Steve obtain such good quality, does anyone know?
    Thanks

    Hi Dnar,
Do you know what actual throughput you are getting ?
There might (I stress might) be some improvement over a local network with the very top Quicktime setting but it does seem this is not stable enough for Internet connections
