Some incoming calls coming in as unknown.

Since I have received  my iPhone 6 on September 19 certain numbers that are saved in my contact list are incoming as unknown. It is very odd that only a handful of them are coming through & some are not. The numbers happen to be all of my company lines. I have them all saved under the same "contact" name. There are also a few other numbers that I do not have saved in my contacts that used to show up as a phone number on the caller id but now are "Unknown."
I have tired to reset the phone, the network settings & reset all settings. I have reset the "cloud" only to have the same issues.

If the caller has chosen to block his caller ID, your iPhone will not be receiving the information
necessary to bring up their contact ID. For your company, suggest you speak to IT or
whoever controls the phone service - they may or may not wish to change the setting.
Ask the other callers who now show as unknown if they have changed any settings on
their account. There basically is nothing you can do if a caller chooses to hide their
Caller ID. Some wireless providers offer a service whereby such calls are refused with
a message to the caller that the call will not go through with hidden ID. There may be
a charge for such service if offered.

  • I have an iphone5. I want a software through which I can block some incoming calls, can somebody help me to locate the best one

I am having an iphone5. I am looking for a software through which I can block some numbers to avoid incoming calls from them.please help me in this regard.

Enter those numbers into your contacts and assign them a silent
ringtone. The calls still come in, but you will not hear them.
True call blocking is a function of your wireless provider. If that
is what you want, do as AnaMusic stated above and contact your
    Carrier.
Due to the sandbox nature of iOs, no third party app can do what you
    want.

  • Blackberry Passport is blocking some incoming calls

    Hi,
My BB Passport is blocking all incoming calls if I don't have the number saved in my contact list. If there any way to turn off this option? I've contacted my service provider, and there is no restriction on my phone line. In fact, the service has been restarted twice.
    Thanks,
    Cesar

  • Incoming calls coming as +7 instead of 07 or +447

Hi guys, any idea about solving an issue with my incoming notifications for calls, as every time someone gives me a call from the UK the are code appears to show as +7 (4475) XX-XX-X format instead of 074475XXXXX.. It looks like the area code is not recognized by the phone. I have reset, restored, tried different settings as location, region and dial assistance but nothing helps at all. My contract is with T Mobile and they could not help me at all with this problem, I bought a new sim card which was replaced by T Mobile but that did not help at all too. Went to Apple Genious Bar but they advised me that the sim card was the problem, nothing from the phone itself.
When I get text messages, they are all displayed fine.
    Any ideas please...???

    Hi Karthik,
Sorry for the delay, my email notifications aren't working for some reason.
The DSCP for RTP (and SIP for that matter) traffic on the ingress to the CUBE is definitely correct. I've verified this by putting an inbound policy-map on the ingress interface that just matches DSCP markings and can see counters for AF31 (SIP), CS4 (Video RTP) and EF (Voice RTP) incrementing. What I see on the egress interface using the same policy map (but outbound) is that only AF31 and EF leave the router.
The CUBE is doing media flow-thru so is proxying both SIP and RTP traffic based on the dial-peers. I can only imagine that when IOS reconstructs the IP headers for the proxied traffic it is not differentiating between RTP voice and RTP video as the configuration suggests it should.
Telepresence multiplexes voice and video streams so that you get one RTP stream with (potentially) multiple voice sessions and one RTP stream with (potentially) multiple video sessions. Perhaps this somewhat non-standard behaviour has something to do with what I'm observing?
The only other thought I've had is that perhaps the QoS markings applied to the newly crafted packet are selected based on the in-bound dial-peer, which perhaps I am not matching correctly. However if that was the case I ought to be seeing AF41 traffic leaving the CUBE as that is the default marking for video.
This one has me stumped! I have another platform that is in pre-production testing to replace the CUBE in question, I will see if it is demonstrating the same behaviour in the coming days.

  • Some incoming calls and messages display the phone number instead of name

I recently upgraded from a Blackberry to an iPhone 4s. When I receive a call or SMS on the 4s it often displays only the phone number instead of the name at the top of the screen even though I the correct name and phone number are entered the correct fields in the iPhone address book. I assume there was some kind of conflict when I imported the names from the blackberry (or from my Google contacts list - I can't remember which now). Have any of you experienced this problem? How did you get it resolved?

    Umm,
    I cannot replicate this.
If I deliberately send to my iPhone Number and reply to that (My iPhone is set to use the iPhone Number) after I have moved Messages behind another app the Notification show my Name and not the number.
I am using iCloud to sync the Contacts apps.

    Hi
    Welcome to the EE Community!
    Are you an Orange customer?
If so there is an ongoing issue with Caller Line Identity. This is what shows you the number of the person calling you.
The issue is currently under investigation.
    Sorry for any inconvenience.

    Hi
Please pull the abandoned call activity report , identify  the time of the disconnect and then pull the CCX engine logs for the same time , and you will be able to see the reason for disconnect.
i can read the CCX engine logs for you if you want.

  • CALLER ID not working for International incoming calls

    Hi
I recently  purschased an Online number but the caller id does not work for incoming calls. How do we resolve this problem?.
    Regards
    Yash
You didn't mention what country your Online Number is in.  Not all of Skype's Online Numbers are eligible for use as Caller ID when calling telephones or sending SMS messages.  If your number is from one of these countries (Chile, Denmark, Estonia, Hong Kong, Poland, Sweden, the UK and the US), then it can be used this way.  Otherwise, you can use a mobile number from countries other than Japan or Mexico as Caller ID with Skype, after the number goes through a verification process where Skype sends SMS messages with codes to that number.
To get to these settings, log into your Skype account here on the Skype web site using the "Account" link at the top of this page.  You'll see a screen that would include your current Caller ID settings, and a link to change that.  If your Online Number is from one of those countries I referenced above, just select it and you're done.
    Hope that helps!

  • No way to filter incoming calls, right?

Thanks for looking. I did a search and can't find any info.
Well, it may be a while before Apple allows 3rd party apps on the phone so does anyone know if, today, there is a way to filter incoming calls, i.e.,
    "Blocked - Unknown" etc.... ?
    Thank you again.
    Tom

It has been confirmed in other threads to this forum that there is no way to block calls on the 'incoming' side of the equation.
Only blocking capability is when you are doing the calling.
This has been confirmed with AT&T.

  • CME - Delay in connecting incoming calls

    Hello,
For most incoming calls coming in on FXO lines we are noticing that there is a 8-10 seconds delay before the audio is established.  Call comes in, IP phone rings, then there is 8-10 second delay before either party can hear anything.  GW was rebooted and there has been no recent changes.

  • All my incoming calls are coming up as unknown, even though they are not blocked?

All my incoming calls are coming up as unknown, even though they are not blocked? Any help much appreciated!

  • All Incoming calls are 'Unknown'

About 6 days ago all my incoming calls are coming in as 'Unknown'. Also my phone calls to my friends/relatives were showing up as 'blocked' or 'private'.
I was on the phone with at&t and they said all my settings were fine. They put me through to apple support and we did a reset of settings on my phone and that resolved my outgoing calls as showing up as 'Blocked/Private' but STILL all my incoming calls are showing up as 'Unknown'. VERY frustrating. What is weird though all my incoming text messages know the name of the contact...why would this not work for phonecalls. ANY suggestions at all on how to resolve? I really don't want to have to try and reset all my default settings again on my phone, but if another attempt at that is suggested I guess I'll try. Please advise.

I have a similar problem although it's only with some numbers showing up as "Unknown". I went to the local Apple store and a busy Genius said it ws an AT&T problem. So I spent an hour on the phone with an real good AT&T tech. 866-700-2105 gets you right to iPhone tech support. He said it was a iPhone issue. So I made an appointment with a Genius. We put my SIM card in a new phone - same problem. I had a person call, whose number shows up as Unknown on my phone call the Genius'iPhone. Caller ID shows the number. So we think it's my SIM card. Off to the AT&T store for a new SIM card. With a new card - same old problem. The ball is back in AT&T's court. I bet you thought there would be a solution here. Sorry.
