Some Java-based websites missing vertical scroll bar

Web site (http://www.addictinggames.com/dailyjigsaw.html) loads with no vertical scroll bar.
== This happened ==
Every time Firefox opened

Hi
Do you have 3rd party Glims installed? If so, make sure you have the latest version (v 20).
I used to see the scroll problem more frequently. I haven't of late. Never determined what causes it, however older versions of Glims (since it alters Safari functions) may be one possible cause.
Only workaround I've seen is to quit the tab in question, then reopen another tab and reload the page missing the scroll bar. Tabs ought to appear.
If you don't have 3rd party add-ons, send feedback to Apple via the Safari Menu>Report Bugs to Apple.

  • Missing Vertical Scroll Bar on Firefox browser

I have lost my vertical scroll bar on Firefox after installing Minefield. I have tried uninstalling both programs and reinstalling Firefox but the scroll bar is still missing. Firefox is running the default Theme. The scroll bar comes back when Firefox is running in Safe Mode. Can anyone help?

I have a Mac with Firefox 5.0.1. I had the same problem with the vertical scrollbar. After reading your post I began disabling my most recent add-ons. Findbar Tweak 0.5.2 was the problem. Thanks for the help!

  • Missing VERTICAL SCROLL-BAR only in the TV Shows tab.

*I keep losing my vertical scroll-bar while looking at Television shows.* I believe this might be related to the Windows Vista 64-Bit platform.
What-ever it is, this problem has been occurring since iTunes version 9.x for sure. I am *currently on iTunes version 10.0.0.68* with the same annoying "find the vertical scroll-bar" problem. I have reported my concerns to Apple, but their has never been a reply and the problem has +migrated beyond iTunes 9.x now.+
The following are all examples of how or when...
    1. enter the "TV Shows" tab for the first time since I started iTunes.
( as in today, last hour, or just xx minutes ago. )
( of course just closing iTunes and restarting iTunes )
( has not constant result. )
    2. just got done watching a television episode in a separate window.
    3. just got done watching a television episode in the same or list window.
    4. switched from one view style to another view style.
    5. enter the "TV Shows" tab from another tab such as "Music" or "Podcasts".
The only way to get the scroll-bar back is to switch to another tab and then switch back to "TV Shows". This sometimes takes 5 to 6 switches before the scroll-bar returns. And of course, it might disappear again if any of the above 1-5 examples occur.
I do have a couple of screenshots for anyone to view, not sure how to post it as part of this post. If you desire, request the screenshots and I will e-mail them to you for your reference.

I also have this issue with the scroll bar in Mail since upgrading from Leopard to Snow Leopard. I Google it... and that is what brought me here, so hopefully someone knows what is going on as I was kind of hoping that 10.6.1 would have fixed this.

  • Missing (Functional) Vertical Scroll Bars In IE 11.0 After Upgrade

We are in the process of upgrading our SharePoint 2010 Farm to SharePoint 2013.  We have begun our database-attach upgrade and have not yet converted the "look and feel".  (The SharePoint 2013 farm has the latest patches and fixes)
The sites have no customizations or custom code.  Under SharePoint 2010 farm the sites render correctly in Internet Explorer 11.0, Chrome, etc.  The migrated sites do not show the vertical scroll bars in Internet Explorer 11.0, but show correctly
in Chrome (Version 39.0).  Both the original farm and new farm are using the default unmodified v4.master page.
I have tried searching in the forums for an answer and on the internet and I see references to .css and .js settings.  I don't know if that is the issue.
Oh and we have tried the compatibility settings but they did not make any difference.
    Any thoughts?

    Hi Roger,
I recommend to verify the things below:
Please reset IIS and check if there is any application pool is not start in IIS.
Would you please capture the screenshot about missing Vertical Scroll Bars and let me know the URL address.
Also, please collect ULS log for further research:
    Collect the ULS log:
•Enable Verbose logging via Central Admin> Monitoring> Reporting>Configure diagnostic logging(You can simply set all the categories with Verbose level and I can filter myself).
•Reproduce the issue for three times.
•Record the time and get a capture of the error message(including the correlation ID if there is). Collect the log file which is by default located in the folder:  <C:\Program files\common files\Microsoft Shared\web server extensions\15\LOGS>. Compress
them to a zip file and send it to me via workspace
    •Stop verbose logging.
    Best regards.
    Thanks

  • When I open gmail, I cannot use the vertical scroll bar.

When I use the gmail website on firefox, the vertical scroll bar. As there is no horizontal scroll bar on the website, the vertical scroll bar layers over the top of the page resizer and makes the arrow button for the scroll unusable.
    Please advise.

you may be connected to the wireless network but the question is the internet working properly on the wireless network...
what i mean is that i can make a wireless network without the internet so i can save and share files and have other devices connected to the same network access them... but you have to make sure that your internet it running properly... may have to reconfigure the router is your using PPPOE or if it was working prior to your post then try to restart your modem... that usually resolves most issues.

  • On every website, my right vertical scroll bar is missing and all of my Toolbar bookmarks unless I minimize the window, click "view" and "full page." How do i get it back to NORMAL?

When I hit "full page" the right vertical scroll bar re-appears, but my bookmark toolbars, my bing bar, and pretty much the entire top 2 inches of my screen disappears. When all of these things are showing, the right vertical scroll bar disappears, and the entire webpage shifts to the right, so I can't see most of the right side of the page. How do I fix this?

    Welcome to Safari 6 with:
        .   .  t  .   .  a  .   .  b  .   .  s  .   .
That are the size of tractor-trailer trucks!
There is no known way to get them smaller except when you get a lot they will "shrink-to-fit".

  • Some new pages open without a vertical scroll bar...even tho the page is very long.

It only happens with one particular vendors website. They can't explain it. Most of their web pages work fine.
I selected an imbedded link from one page and a new browswer window opens and populates but there is no left margin vertical scroll bar. And there is lots of data below to view. CAnt get there from here.
    Damon

Can you share the link to the page?
Does it make any difference if you change the zoom level, such as by holding down Ctrl and tapping the + key or the - key a couple of times?
New windows opened by a script can be customized by leaving out some elements. Presumably if they were doing that, they would know. However, just in case, you could prevent sites from removing the scrollbars from popup windows.
    (1) In a new tab, type or paste '''about:config''' in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.
    (2) In the search box that appears above the list, type or paste '''window_o''' and pause while the list is filtered
    (3) Double-click the '''dom.disable_window_open_feature.scrollbars''' preference to switch it from false to true.
(The name of this preference is difficult to understand, but it means that Firefox will block the site from turning off scrollbars on a new window if set to true.)

  • At times when dragging the vertical scroll bar my computer screen oscillates up and down for some time before going blank or not responding to any clicks requiring a forced system restart. What is wrong?

    Hi,
Suddenly while working with Firefox if I happen to drag the vertical scroll bar, a very abnormal behavior occurs. My screen dances up and down for a short time before either going black or getting restored but with no clicks working. The only way to resume is to force a restart of the system.
Any help would be deeply appreciated.
    Thanks and Regards
    Deepak

That didn't work. On trying to install a new driver I got the error the graphics driver could not find compatible graphics hardware. Is there anything else that can be done to at least prevent the hanging of the computer even if it means less features from Firefox being available?

  • Question on vertical scroll bars in JScroll Pane

    Hi,
I managed to display my chat program with a vertical scroll bars by using JScrollPane. Every time some on types a line, this is appended to whatever was previously in the JTextArea (the JScrollPane has a JTextArea in it). Even though this works fine, when the dimension of the JTextArea is full with text, one has to scroll down to see what was the last line of text that was typed.
Is there a way to make the verticall scroll area alwas scrolled down (I mean, scrolled to the bottom so I can see new incoming text without manually having to scroll it down?)
    Thanks!
    Cecilia.

You might try adding a properties listener to the JTextArea listening for a "resize/size" property change and when it does, force the scroll bar to go to max.

  • Text editing window expands instead of creating vertical scroll bar

In the last few days, I have noticed that when I try to edit or post to Wordpress.com the vertical scroll bar no longer appears on the text editing box. Instead the box just gets progressively larger which makes it very difficult to get to other items on the WordPress editing screen, such as tags and categories. This problem seems to have arisen during the v31.0 auto-upgrade. Is anybody else having this issue and what steps can I take to solve it? (FYI, I tried modifying the setting described in another response about a similar issue using the about:config screen, with no success.)

I don't know whether your dashboard has the "Visual" and "Text" buttons, but I believe the Visual uses CKEditor or another WYSIWYG editor and the Text editor might be a simpler design. Are both affected?
I searched around to see whether I could find Wordpress.com support threads or other stories about it and I can't. So I'll fall back on some general suggestions:
When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.
    (1) Bypass Firefox's Cache
Use Ctrl+Shift+r to reload the page fresh from the server.
Alternately, you also can clear Firefox's cache completely using:
"3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced
On the Network mini-tab > Cached Web Content : "Clear Now"
If you have a large hard drive, this might take a few minutes.
    (2) Remove the site's cookies (save any pending work first). While viewing a page on the site:
    * right-click and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
    * (menu bar) Tools menu) > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
In the dialog that opens, you can remove WordPress.com cookies without affecting other sites.
Then try reloading the page. Does that help?
To rule out extensions as a possible culprit, could you try the site in Firefox's Safe Mode? That's a standard diagnostic tool to deactivate extensions, some advanced features, and some custom settings. More info: [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode]].
You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using either
    * "3-bar" menu button > "?" button > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
    * (menu bar) Help menu > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
Note: Flash and other plugins still run
After Firefox closes, a small dialog should appear: click "Start in Safe Mode" (''not'' Reset)
    Any difference?

  • How to Enable to vertical scroll bar in a table control

    Hi,
I have created a table control with a wizard and later did some modifications on it. Problem I have now is that the vertical scroll bar is disabled on this table control. The end user wants to enter as many rows as possible, however as the scroll bar is disabled, he is not able to add the rows at the end (of the visible table control area).
How do I enable the vertical scroll bar of the table control?
    Please help.
    Thanks,
    Vishal.

    Hello Vishal,
    In PBO.
Create a Module and in the module increment the value of tbcl-lines.
    ex:
    Data : L type i.
    IN PBO.
    MODULE vertical_scroll_bar.
    MODULE vertical_scroll_bar.
    DESCRIBE TABLE itab lines L.
    <table control name>-lines = L + 10.
    ENDMODULE.
    Hope this solves your issue.
    Cheers,
    Suvendu

  • Vertical Scroll Bar Listener

I'm guessing this isn't possible, but I'm not willing to give
    up yet!
I've got a datagrid that occasionally has a vertical scroll
bar. Whenever the scroll bar shows up, it crops one of my columns.
I know that datagrid columns cannot have percentage based widths,
which causes the issue I'm having. I thought the workaround might
be to add a creationComplete function to the datagrid and then set
the datagrids width using that. There is just one problem, the
datagrid does not "see" the entrance of the vertical scrollbar. So
when Flex is setting the width of the datagrid internally, it's not
    accounting for the scrollbar.
Hope that makes sense. What I'm hoping is possible, but have
been unable to find any documentation on is to somehow listen for
the scrollbar which would allow for something like the "code"
    below.
Any thoughts on this? I really appreciate any and all
    help.

  • Vertical Scroll Bar on the device display

    Hello,
I had the problem with both horizontal and vertical scroll bars. Managed to get rid of the horizontal scroll bas using the parameters ~itsmobileelemfactor and ~itsmobileelemunits but the vertical scroll bar is still there. As our transactions are developed internally, I managed to sqeeze the screen elements but still the vertical scroll bars are there.
I am testing with Intermec CK3 device with Intermec Browser.
I was going thru this forum and someone has suggested to modify the CSS.
Can someone help me which html parameters are required and under which css class e.g. font size, line-height etc to reduce the overall screen size? I am not good in HTML.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Oisin,
    Parameters in SE80:
    ~GENERATEDYNPRO = 1

    ~THEME = 99
    ~TRANSACTION = LM01

I know you helped me earlier and provided two OSS notes. Those nores are installed.
Again, please let me know what I am missing to get rid of the vertical scroll bar. Strictly we have followed 16X20 screen size which is SAP RF standard.

  • Help with a vertical scroll bar issue with a List component

hi. i have a basic <s:list> that uses an XMLListCollection as it's data provider and a very basic itemrenderer. when a row in the list is clicked a function gets the list.selectedIndex then populates some text fields with more xml data. that all works fine.. the problem i have is that the vertical scroll bar on the list seems to be "clickable" - just like a row in the list. the scroll bar scrolls normally but when it's clicked the selectedIndex becomes -1 which is not helpful b/c the value -1 is passed to the XMLListCollection.
    any ideas? cheers.

thanks but still problematic...surely the <s:List> component shouldn't return a value when the scrollbar thumb is clicked? i created a very basic list (see below) and made the list dimensions short enough so that there is a vertical scrollbar and found that when the scrollbar thumb is clicked the trace(event.currentTarget.selectedIndex) returns a number. that's annoying b/c i just want a selectedIndex value for a row that is clicked not the scrollbar.
any ideas to get around? cheers
