Some keywords not being exported

What's going on with keywords not being exported. The "will export" list of keywords seems to have a mind of its own. What's going on and how can one add to the "will export" data?

I have been having similar issues. Specifically with keywords randomly disappearing and applied keywords in Lightroom not following through to Bridge. I have no advice but just wanted to let you know you're not alone with keyword issues.

Selective Sharpening Not Being Exported in Aperture 3

When I use a Quick Brush to apply a sharpening adjustment, the adjustment is not being exported. All of the other adjustments are being exported, but not the brushed in sharpening adjustment. All exports are affected (Flickr, Mail, PS, file export)

The issue does not appear to affect edge sharpen, but I don't like the edge sharpen effect as much as the normal sharpen.
I just installed 3.0.2 hoping it would fix the issue, but unfortunately it did not.

Some photos not being synced from Mac to iPhone

Some of my photos are not being synchronised to my iPhone. This includes certain photos within some iPhoto albums and some entire albums. I have tried to see if there are any problems with the photos which have not been synchronised, but they seem to be fine. No unusual characters in titles and no corrupted images, they seem just the same as the photos which are being synchronised. Anything I should try before getting in touch with Apple support? I've tried creating new albums to synchronise, deleting photos them reimporting them to iPhoto and even re-setting my iPhone, but exactly the same problem with exactly the same photos.
iPhone is running latest firmware (1.1.2), using latest version of iPhoto and iTunes, synchronising with my Mac Pro running 10.5.1

One thing to try.
Export the photo, from iphoto, that will not sync to the iphone.
Make sure the file name has an extension. (something like .jpg or .bmp)
Import the photo back into iphoto.
Now try syncing the photo to the iphone.

SOME Contacts Not Being Pushed From iPhone to MobileMe

Some of my contacts aren't being pushed from my iPhone to MobileMe. Some aren;t being pushed from MobileMe to my iPhone. I have 51 contacts on my iPhone and 35 on my MobileMe. If i create a new contact on MobileMe it might be pushed or might not. Same goes with iPhone.
Anyone got any ideas or having the same problem? Im just using the internet based contacts because I'm on Vista

One thing to try.

Some texts not being able to send with iPhone 6 Plus 8.1

I recently upgraded my iPhone 5 to the new iPhone 6 Plus. Since then, I have noticed some issues with iMessage. I have not had this problem with any of my other iPhones in the past. I am now experiencing problems when I text certain people I get an exclamation mark with a message saying that the message was not delivered. How do I fix this? This happens with a handful of contacts. Others go through just like normal with no problem. My iPhone 6 Plus is updated to the latest software.

Mostly SMS. I had tried sending an employee an imessage earlier and it didn't go through, but he later replied and said that his phone was off during work. Others are SMS messages to non Apple devices that are not being able to send.

Some photos not being 'seen' by iphoto

I am having a difficult time syncing all of my photos. Some of my photos are recognized, some are not. There is a blank square where the photo would be. I have not been able to identify any rhyme or reason of which photos work and which do not. Possible the photos that I have saved from emails/texts.
Any ideas how I can get iphoto to recognize all if them?

I am having the same problem with my 16g iPhone 3GS (4.0.1 (8A306).
Every photo taken until 26th July downloaded perfectly but pictures taken on 7th August are not accepted. iPhoto says it is down loading and then lists the shots and gives the message" The following files could not be imported(they may be an unrecognized file type or may not contain valid data)"
However they were easily accepted by a friend's MacBook running the same OSX 10.5.8. this morning.
Any more ideas?

Why are keywords not being shown in the Browser Grid View

Hi,
All the tutorials and manuals seem to have screenshots showing the browser grid view images with keywords at the bottom of the image. Now matter what i try i cannot get them to show up. Here are some of the things I've tried/observed.
- in the split view and viewer views the keywords show up as expected
- used the "browser metadata overlays" option (bottom right) to switch the browser between "show metadata" and "switch to basic view"
- used the "browser metadata overlays" edit option to confirm that both basic and standard overlays/views are configured to show keywords (ie. keyword is in the list on the right)
- i can see labels (red, green etc) in the browser grid view
- quit, deleted all my library preferences, restarted aperture
Are you seeing keywords in the browser view? Any ideas what i'm doing wrong?
Also note I imported my library from iPhoto.

Hi thank youve tried editing all the basic and extended metadata options and so far i have managed to get the key words to show up on one photo at a time with a colour label.
To do this i have to go to the metadata tab on the left add a custom field to the general tab called it keywords to keep things simple lol.
This is the only way of getting my keyword to appear below the photo
However when i try and tag all the photos in the project with the same keyword and label it only tags the last one in the project ive held down cmd /option /ctrl nothing / some of these just tag one random picture with the metadata

Descriptions are not being exported even though option is ticked

This is a new problem for me. Not sure when it cropped up, but possibly in the last iPhoto update?
When I export a photo from my library and tick the 'Titles and Keywords' box, the description field is not copied into the IPTC caption field as it used to be. The title and keywords are, but when I look at the info panel in Finder (or in Preview), the description field remains set to "SONY DSC" which is the camera's default.
I'm running iPhoto 9.4.1 on OSX10.8.2
Is this a bug? Is anyone else having this problem? Any insights appreciated.

I fixed all my exported photos with missing IPTC data using this command:
exiftool -iptc:all= -tagsfromfile @ -all:all -unsafe ./
Download the exiftool here: http://www.sno.phy.queensu.ca/~phil/exiftool/
open a terminal window, cd into the directory with all the exported photos, then run the exiftool command.
voila! the descriptions re-appear.
if iPhoto can create new descriptions, regardless of what camera they were taken on, then iPhoto should also be able to export them. And, this is why i'll never use iPhoto again.

SOLVED: Some files not being picked up with File: protocol

I'm doing some testing of the B2B server on a laptop and seeing some weird behaviour. I have the B2B server set up much like the 850 inbound scenario for the tutorial, except that I am using AS2 over generic exchange with a FILE: transport server. I have "Shoppers" set up as the remote trading partner.
Now for the weirdness. If I put a file in the incoming directory called "ACME_850_4010_1_12345.edi" (it's the one I used for the tutorial, it is picked up fine by the B2B server; it errors out (as expected) because I don't have a trading partner called "ACME" in my setup. However, if I drop a file in the incoming directory called "Shoppers_850_4010_1_12345.edi" with the same exact content as the ACME file - the B2B server never picks up the file to process it. The other weird thing - after putting the Shoppers file in the directory, the B2B server just stops picking up files from that directory altogether until I restart the B2B server.
Any ideas?
DOH - files were not exactly the same. Missing carriage return at the end of the file. Adding it seems to have solved the issue.

Trading Partner identification by default is based on the Exchange protocol and in your case of Generic Exchange , it is based on name of the file or the Directory name depending on the following property.
Property:           oracle.tip.adapter.b2b.allTPInOneDirectory
Type:           boolean
Default Value:      false
Description:
If set to true, enables the identification of all files dropped into a particular directory with the trading partner name identified by the directory name: Example: E:\Partners\Acme
The default is to identity each file by prefixing the file with the Trading Partner name Example: Acme_orders.xml
To debug this issue, please enable transport trace and go through the log.

Why are some texts not being received on my iPhone but are on my mac

I just got a new iphone 5C. A friend sent me some pics in a text and it didn't show up on my iphone. The text and pics did show up on my mac though. Can anyone tell me if I have something set wrong on my iphone?

If it showed up on your Mac, that was an iMessage - not a text message as in SMS/MMS.
Was the iMessage addressed to your cell phone number or to your Apple ID email address?

Some Addresses not being recognized

Hi Please help,
I have just switched over from Yahoo to mail, and have been able to send my photos to other Yahoo users but the "mail" will not recognize a lot of my current and "good" addresses to other.
Does anyone know why this is happening?

Those are the classic symptoms of iTunes being strict/finicky/incompetent (pick your own interpretation) about slight variations in MP3 headers.
Treat the problem files with a 3rd party tag cleanup tool such as MP3 Validator. Then the files will add to iTunes.

.me contacts not being exported to icloud

On my iphone 4, in contacts, my groups are listed as "from my mac," ".me. com" and "icloud". Icloud did not import all my contacts from my .me list. How can I make this happen?

Welcome to the Apple Community.
Click on the ribbon in iCal to go to users and groups, select the .me list on the left side click the first contact on the right side, shift click the last contact to select them all and drag them to the iCloud account on the left side.
You can then repeat the selection to delete them from the .me account, you can do the same for the on my mac account if you wish.

Some characters not being recognized in bash

Hello I hope someone can help me with this!
In the past I've used the below config for my bash prompt without issues.

I'm now on a completely new system and the special symbols like '┌─' and '└─' are unable to be displayed, and are instead represented by symbols that look like a question mark inside a diamond? (Yes that's honestly the best job I could do of describing it )
This is happening in any bash prompt (tty's, urxvt, xfce terminal, xterm)
I remember I had the same issue in the past on my previous system when I switch session managers from Slim to Lightdm.
I'm running Slim with Awesome WM, my .xinitrc execs Awesome with ck-launch-session with dbus.
Perhaps it's something simple that I'm missing? I've read up the Arch wiki page about bash and also some external pages but can't find anything.
Any help on this is greatly appreciated, I want to get my prompt looking snazzy again xD

Some apps not being synced / backed up

Hi, been having a pretty easy ride with my iPhone 3G but i've noticed that 2 of the apps i've downloaded from the app store (through the phone itself) aren't listed in iTunes.
Stanza and BeatMaker are the 2 culprits. I'm particulary worried about BeatMaker 'cos i don't want to lose my projects and it cost 12 quid.
They are missing from both the icon view you see when clicking Applications in the Library list and the check box list in the Applications tab of the sync page.
Both apps function fine on the iPhone itself.
Any ideas?

Hmm, seems i had to go to file->transfer purchases... which is odd because the other apps were purchased on the iPhone too but they got transfered without any intervention.
Weirdness.

Keywords are not being assigned to photos, Lightroom 2.3

I have recently installed 2.4 and after several bugs, I uninstalled and went back to 2.3 more stable version, everything is still the same ever since, that is:
Still I get the triangles I didn't use to get (I have been using the very same camera, with the same settings for ages now)
Still I get freezing when I assign keywords to single or multiple photos either by the spay tool or the keywording small panel, or the keywording big panel, or even the Keyword list. It simply doesn't register keywords!!!
I closed application and opened again
I repaired installation of 2.3
I changed from develop mode, to loope mode to grid mode
I save my keywords a preset and just clicked them to assign them in one or multiple photos (some times it works sometimes not)
I restored keyword set presets
I used all ways of inputting data=keywords and the system does not respond
hence I cannot really use the most powerful tool of that software that is the keywords, which is frustrating enough all right
I would appreciate your suggestions and ideas of work around's, cheers!

Sorry Sean but my problem is not the list of bugs but the keywords not being assigned to my photos as posted initially. So, in this sense I don't find your post much helpful to be honest.

Anyways, I upgraded back to 2.4. Indeed I do believe that its my slow system and processor that is causing the problems. When I fire up lightroom, I close everything else and I still get my fan speeding and pc's heart pulpitating, you know!!
1. I also get other problems like looping the image view for some time before it renders a larger review of the photo I am looking, if I move fast between views. (therefore I can't see the image since it keeps on/off looping)
This is because it's taking ages for your computer to render, due to the low spec. Rendering is quite intensive, so needs lots of power to be quick.
2. It doesn't seem to create virtual copy, but only at times (preferably when it feels like it). I get errors similar to the following.

Well, you really shouldn't be seeing bare SQLite instructions, so something is definitely up. Try using Relaunch and Optimize from the Catalog Settings 'General' tab. This should detect if there are issues with the catalog itself. Some of the things you are experiencing are due to the speed of the machine, but I don't think all of them are.
