Some kind of error message...not sure what to do!
So my 20GB iPod is showing some kind of error message when I either try to turn it on or charge it. The error is a picture of a little iPod who has an unhappy looking face and there is an exclamation point next to it. I have no idea whats going on with the iPod but I have had it for like 2 years so I'm not sure if it's the battery going bad or what.

Be aware that it's quite involved and contains some info that will almost certainly void the warranty. If your iPod is still within the warranty period, you should use that option first.

</HTML>I'm guessing you did not buy the iPad from Apple. If you did not buy it from Apple, it may very well have an older software version. Only iOS 5 or later is PC independent. If you have an earlier version, a computer with iTunes loaded is required.

I tried to download and install the latest versionn of iTunes and it didn't update. Now, each time I try to go into the program it says "Runtime error an application attempted to load the c runtime lobrary incorrectly. Is there a way to fix this, or do I need to completely lose all of my music by re-loading a new version. I need to get it back someway without losing everything. HELP!
Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later). This was posted earlier by TuringTest2.
Remove all of these items in the following order:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.

i am sorry if this is suppose to be in another forum. i was trying to download a software plug-in from the internet to be able to print coupons from the internet.
this is the message i got... SAFARI CANNOT FIND THE INTERNET PLUG-IN. the page "coupon print" has content of MIME type "application/x-nsms-coupons-brxdf5". Because you don't have a plug-in isntalled for this MIME type, this content can't be displayed.
what does that mean and what can i do? when i clicked install it download a dmg.pkg and i drug it into the applications. is that not correct.
thank you for your help in advnce!The .dmg part is a Disk Image. Think of it as the Fed Ex box that comes when you buy something.
The .dmg file will open (mounts on your Desktop) and inside is your product. In your disk image is a .pkg file (package) and it is still not the final product. Think of it as box inside the box. You still have to open it, too.
A double click on a .pkg file should launch the OS X Installer app. It should expand the package and ask for your account password (for security reasons). It then does its job of installing the contents of the package to the various locations required by the software. Sometimes installing software requires a restart of your computer before the new software can be used.
Your final file is a browser plug-in (helper app) and it should install in your HD/Library/Internet Plug-Ins folder.

I receive an error message when opening up a downloaded program "safari can't open the file because no available application can open it" I am not sure what I need to do to get these programs open!

Hi there not sure what I did wrong but got a message asking if I would allow the application config but was warned by commputer not to now I can't log into some sites and others won't load properly, some sites will log in but only if the stay logged in box is not checked,I'v have cleared my cashe and internet history looked through securtity setting but nothing, anyone had this problem and has any advice?

I've encountered this error myself upon occasion. If I remember correctly, it was a permissions/ownership issue with the some of the files I was copying. -
Safari is giving me a missing plug in message when I try to view things like movie trailers. The trailers play on Firefox, so I'm not sure what's missing from Safari. I have Safari 5.0.6 and Mac OS X 10.5.8.
I just noticed that it won't play some newsite videos anymore either. What plug in do I need to update (if that's the problem)?

It is very buggy and frustrating to use.
I have my Music library on a QNAP NAS, which is as reliable as they come.
System notifications make it not save changes. It also does not do a good job of interpreting albums and artists from folders. Changes to track names are not saved, nor are tracks moved to other albums, renamed albums, changes to genre, artist
or date. It separates and merges albums/tracks without sense or reason. Some changes I've made up to 4 times, then closed WMP and re-started my machine to check if it has/hasn't saved the changes. Often it has not.
This is the first time I've used WMP in this capacity, and I do not recommend it.

Lightroom 5.6 When I try to publish the photos from Lightroom to SmugMug I get an error Canceling task at the top left side and the photos are not published. I have published photos before just last week so not sure whats going on. Any help would be great.

Trashing the preference file may help, as I've outlined in the topic I've linked to. Otherwise, follow the steps regarding removing 3rd party QuickTime components. Also, see the final post by the OP (EEye87) regarding how his problem was resolved (a combination of trashing the preference file and the 3ivx component).

Thanks. Unfortunately, I need to make a master DVD that can then be duplicated in bulk as a single layer disc. This surprises me because I tried burning a different DVD project that has worked in the past which is also 4.5 GB and now I could not burn that either. I also reencoded some material to get the new project down to 4.4 GB but it still would not burn. Any ideas are appreciated.

Message "switch to mobile site". Not sure what this means
When I am surfing the web I keep getting a pop up that says "switch to mobile site". I'm not sure what this means since I don't have a mobile site. I am new to the Ipad so I am looking for help.
Many websites have a link at the bottom of the page that says "Mobile" or "Mobile Site" or something to that effect. If you tap on that it will take you to the version of the website that is best suited for mobile devices, iPads, iPhones, etc. The mobile sites are optimized for mobile devices and will include videos that will be viewable in iOS that were created in html5 rather than Flash which is no longer supported on mobile devices and never was supported in iOS. When you see that message look for the link somewhere on the website or just tap OK if it gives you the option to switch to the mobile version in the popup message.
Some websites have a Mobile Button that is quite visible at the top of the home page. You can see the Mobile button here under the word Events on the NFL.com home page. -
My Macbook air keeps getting a message saying that the startup disk is full. I don't have picture, music, or movies on it. Im not sure whats wrong with it.
The first step is to check and see how much space really is there. From the desktop right click on the drive in the upper right corner (at least it's there by default) and select "Get Info" to see how much space it reports as free.
It's not just media files that eat up disk space, though they are often a major contributor. Do you happen to be running one of the virtual machine programs (Parallels or VMWare Fusion)? When you create a guest drive there you normally have a fairly decent amount of disk space dedicated to it and that can fill the drive.
As well, a quick fix that may buy you some time is to empty the trash if you've not done so recently. Click on the trash folder in your dock and then in the window that comes up select the option to empty the trash.
If you can free up some space, there are programs that will help you find what files and directories are using disk space. I've used Space Gremlin (in the App store) for that sort of thing, though there others. If you run that sort of utlity you'll get some idea about what is really eating up the drive space.
