Some kind of getChildrenOfType method

Hi friends,
¿is there any method in the JSF to get the number of children of some type?
I mean, something like this:
    public static List<UIComponent> getChildrenOfType(UIComponent comp, String family) {
            List<UIComponent> list = comp.getChildren();
            Iterator<UIComponent> it = list.iterator();
            List<UIComponent> returnList = null;
            while (it.hasNext()) {
                comp = it.next();
                if (comp.getRendererType().equals(family)) {
                    returnList.add(comp);
            return returnList;
    }thanks...

You're free to write an utility method yourself. As you less or more already did. You can't expect that the basic API's/implementations provides everything you need out of the box :) Best what you can do is to post a feature request at the issuetracker of the JSF specification homepage over there at dev.java.net.
