Some Library Entries Require Double Click to View

Updated to 10.5.  Windows 7 64x
After updating, the library entries (music, movies, TV shows, books) require me to either double click or right click on it to view the contents.  For the Store, iTunes and Ping are single click.  Purchased and Purchased on require double click.  All Playlists require double click.
When I single click, I get the red circle with line through it.
Single click still works for Apps, Radio, iTunes Store, and Ping
When I log off and log in on my wife's profile, iTunes functions normally (single click on all entries).
Have tried repairing and uninstalling/reinstalling iTunes but no joy.
Any ideas?
Thanx

Same issue for me.  When I click the first time, I see a red mouse pointer like a restricted entry sign (attached - when I clicked on music).  Using Windows 7 and this started when I upgraded to 10.5

  • Can't change blog entries date - double clicking in date field doesnt work

I've read some posts here that you can't manually arrange the order in wich your blog entries appear, but you can change their dates, so that iWeb will always show from newest to oldest.
The thing is when I'm at the entries pane and I double click an entry's date field, nothing happens. I simply can't edit their date (wich means I can't rearrange them, I'm stuck with the order I created them).
When I double click their title I can change it, and if I press TAB it simply focus out of the editing pane, it doesn't move to the date field.
Any ideas why this is happening ? Im using iWeb 09 (3.0.1)

Found the solution! (I'm using iPhoto 4, BTW)
I click the film roll once.
I highlight the date field and change to my preferred date (MM/DD/YYYY format).
I hit "tab" or "enter" once.
    I close the iPhoto window!
iPhoto quits, which is awkward, but when I reopen it, the date is set, and sticks.
If anyone else has this problem and has not migrated to the new iLife, this should do it for them!

  • Making the Dock require Double-Click instead of Single

Is there a way to make the Dock require a double-click instead of a single-click to open applications. It would be great if the single-click would still focus the desired application. The prevents users from accidentally opening potentially large programs.

Sorry. I meant that if an application is already open the single-click should focus it (bring it to the front) which is the current behavior.
It is two easy to open applications. I have IDE's on the dock that take a lot of resources to start and I find myself accidentally opening them when wanting to open Textedit or a terminal. A double-click would allow the user to correct after the first click thus not opening the wrong application.

  • I phone 4 has changed settings to require double clicking to open applications and cannot scroll the screen anymore.

My I phone 4 was working okay for the 4 months I had it, then all of a sudden the settings changed.
I now have to highlight an item and then double click on it for it to open. It's impossible to try typing anything.
I cannot scroll the screen either, so when I open the settings app, I cannot access anything beyond the item (brightness & wallpaper) at the bottom of the screen. The phone also now reads out what I'm highlighting and other times like when the screen dims or closes (it tells me that the screen is dimming or closing.)

  • I cant open my pictures when I double click to view them in I photo

Hello Every one I downladed the pics to my MAcbook and I dont understand why I get he i symbol when I try to view them.
Can anyone help with that please?

You're library is damaged and needs repairing. Apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
    Fix #1
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Since only one option can be run at a time start
with Option #4 and then #1 as needed.
    Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager  to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
1 - download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
2 - click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
3 - Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option.
4 - In the next  window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
5 - Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments.  However, books, calendars, cards and slideshows will be lost. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

  • Captivate 8.0.1  iOS Systems (i-Phones and i-Pads) require double clicks to submit quiz answers and perform actions.  Why?

Is this common?  I never noticed it before.  Is this something that got changed with Patch 8.0.1?  Was that patch supposed to do something else?

    Hi Bryan,
We analyzed your content and we found that there is no issue while pressing submit for quiz slides in mobile devices.
    here is what we did:
Once quiz slide is loaded we answer the question then press submit after that we get a success/failure caption which explains that we need to click anywhere to continue. We click on that caption and the progress continues, gradually moving to next slide.
So at our end we are not getting any point where submit button need to be pressed twice before moving to next slide.
I am using Iphone 5 and Ipad 2 for testing. The content is deployed in a webserver.
Let me know the steps, by following which I can get to the issue that you mentioned in this post.
Also we can have a connect meeting to figure out the issue at your end.
Send the details regarding availability and timezone in which you fall-in, to my email id. I can initiate a meeting on the basis of that.

  • Speed of mouse double click controls also finder

I was wondering why my new macbook pro responded slower than my imac. Then I came across this:
When I single-click on a folder that I haven't opened for weeks. The time that it takes the finder to show the content of a folder is affected by the setting for 'double-click-speed'.
For some reason setting the 'double-click-speed' for the mouse to slow also slows down the speed of 'traveling' through the finder. And setting it to fast speeds up the time of going to the next level in the index.

This is a well known Leopard Finder "Column View" bug - with your post count, I'm surprised you don't recognize the description.

  • Is there a gesture to simulate double click in Safari?

I have a web app at work that requires double clicks in a browser to open content (digital asset management - Canto Cumulus). I was excited to come in to work & browse images, but viewing categories requires a double click on the category name, and obviously, all that does is zoom in/out the browser page!
Does anyone know if there's a way to simulate a double click in Safari? I've tried holding 2 fingers on the screen while double clicking with a third - combos like that - nothing works.
    Britt

yeah I am starting to believe Safari doesn't recognize these items as true html links - this app's whole web UI is heavily scripted with javascript & stuff - even in IE on PC there is no indication of it having a link - I might be out of luck on this - I have contacted the developer to see if I can somehow get it to work with a single click

  • SQL file will not open in SSMS on double-click (or jump list)

    Hello, all.
I am running SQL Server Management Studio 2008 on a Windows 7 Enterprise machine here at work.  I am not sure when this started happening, but now, for some reason, when I double-click on a SQL file in Explorer, or from the jump list for SSMS (which
I have pinned to my Windows 7 task bar), SSMS will open, but will not load the file in question, nor will it bring up a logon screen to connect to a DB.  I tried unassociating the .SQL extension and then re-associating it using "Open With" and it worked
the first time (from the Open With), but then immediately reverted back to its old behavior.  Very annoying.
For now I just open SSMS first (which pops up a logon screen and things proceed normally), but that kind of defeats the purpose of having a jump list or a file association.  Has anybody run into this before and can anybody suggest a fix or what's
    wrong?
Thanks in advance for any wisdom anyone can provide.

    Hi Mike,
I can provide solution if you can tell me the registry value(HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\sqlwb.sql.9.0\Shell\Open\Command). I believe there is an extra %1 which is causing this.

Let me see if I can get my IT guys to temporarily grant me registry access.  As I said above, it's locked down, but maybe if I ask
reeeeally nicely :-)  I will keep you posted.  Thanks!
EDIT: The IT gods have smiled on me.  The value for the key above is "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SQL Server\100\Tools\Binn\VSShell\Common7\IDE\ssms.exe" /dde
Not sure if that helps, but there you go.  Thanks!

    Hey Mike,
Actually edit didnot trigger the email :)
    Change that to
    "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SQL Server\100\Tools\Binn\VSShell\Common7\IDE\ssms.exe" %1 /dde
(add %1 and that should fix this forever)

  • Double Clicking Issue Feature Or Bug

    Hi All,
I've been using Mac's for over ten years and I'm experiencing an issue unlike anything I've ever seen before. I have this double-clicking issue (maybe more appropriately "accidental double-clicking issue") in certain programs.
In iTunes for example, when I choose File/Add To Library and I double-click the root folder on my external hard drive (which contains subfolders such as Documents, Pictures, Movies, Music, Applications, etc..) iTunes begins to automattically import EVERYTHING on the folder without my having clicked the CHOOSE bubble. EVERYTHING!
Either I'm crazy and I'm just noticing this now or this is the most annoying bug/feature I've ever seen.
The issue also occurs in Mac The Ripper. When I went to choose a Save location and accidentally double-clicked a folder that had subfolders in it, I didn't get the opportunity to click CHOOSE. The Finder just assumed that my double-clicking a folder means that that is the folder I want to select.
I hope I'm explaining this clearly. I don't know I never noticed this "feature" before!
Is there anyway to turn it off?

There isn't anything similar between the two in a hardware sense. The two machines aren't sharing anything. I only use the Magic Mouse with the new 27" i7 iMac.
I tried to reproduce the effect in 10.5 to see if it was indeed a "feature", and it is. To a certain extent.
At this point I've come to the conclusion that this is supposed to happen, in 10.5 and 10.6 (possibly 10.4 or earlier too) when a folder and it's sub-folders contain compatible files respective to the program attempting to access them. However, I don't think it should happen when a folder contains subfolders that have files that are incompatible with the particular program that is currently being browsed.
Furthermore... I'm unable to reproduce the same issue today! This new 27" iMac i7 has been very "buggy" across the board!
    Like for example;
When I first started it up, Airport and Firewire didn't appear in the Network preference pane in System Pref's. And it didn't recognize USB devices that I plugged in until I rebooted a few times.
It ran REEEEEALLLLLLY HOT! Hot like when you put your hand on the hood of a car thats been sitting in the sun. But today it seems to be running much cooler...
It also wont boot from any external hd or Disk Warrior 4.2 DVD.
But all in all it's still a pretty sweet, and crazy fast.

  • Quick - Adobe Genius Needed: Footage and stills are black when double clicked - audio but no image ? What the ... ?

I am doing the training video as this is the first time i have used premiere pro cc or any version of it at all.  I have downloaded the footage and stills as shown in the video but when i go to double click the beach footage it comes up as black - i can hear the waves but the video isn't playing. Same with the stills, they do not show up when double clicked either, they are just black. Dont know what to do.  Your help would be greatly appreciated.
    Cheers

Without a screen shot, it's hard to know why the footage/stills are black. Double-clicking the asset opens it in the Source monitor, as opposed to the Project monitor, which could be black if the playhead is not set to a portion of the timeline that shows a movie clip or still. Perhaps your Source monitor is closed or hidden for some reason. After double-clicking the asset, select Window > Source Monitor in the main menu. You should be able to select the specific asset (e.g., Shot_01.mp4) and then see it on the screen. Make sure you also select Window > Workspace > Editing so that your panel layout shows the various panels properly.

    Stefan

  • Single Click versus Double Click Action not working

Hello, having an issue with actions on symbols.
I have symbols that when clicked play at a specific location on the timeline.
Tthe first symbol uses single click (how I want it)
The rest of the symbols also use single click, but when I test the animation they require double click (even though they are coded to be single click)
    Any ideas?
Here is a testing location for the animation:
    http://www.contentx.com/DSU_discovery/MainAnim.html
Ideally I want single click on all the symbols. The double click is confusing.
    Thanks!
    zack

    Hi, Zack-
Marie nailed it without even looking at the project.    You are calling play() on a place that has a trigger that says stop().  The reason it plays the second time is rather complicated and has to do with the default play() behavior when there's a trigger, but the easy thing to do is to add one to your click event timecode.
    For instance: Presentation.click currently says:
    sym.play(22000);
    Just replace it with:
    sym.play(22001);
The next easiest thing to do is to change your play call to use the optional "false" parameter to force it to not execute the trigger at 2200.
    sym.play(22000, false);
    http://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/edgeanimate/api/current/index.html#symbolinstance
       - scroll down to "play" to read more about the API
    Hope that helps!

  • Double Clicking does not work

Hello, I am trying to help a friend out here with her mac, for some reason when she double clicks on a file or anything including the hard drive icon it will not open. I have never seen this before. What could it possibly be? any help would be much appreciated.

Hi Nathan II, and a warm welcome to the forums!
Could be many things, we should start with this...
    "Try Disk Utility
    1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc that came with your computer, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
    2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
*Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.*
    3. Click the First Aid tab.
    4. Click the disclosure triangle to the left of the hard drive icon to display the names of your hard disk volumes and partitions.
    5. Select your Mac OS X volume.
    6. Click Repair. Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106214
Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
The usual reason why updates fail or mess things up, is if Permissions are not fixed before & after every update, with a reboot... you may get a partial update when the installer finds it doesn't have Permissions to change one obscure little part of the OS, leaving you with a mix of OS versions.
Some people get away without Repairing Permissions for years, some for only days.
If Permissions are wrong before applying an update, you could get mixed OS versions, if Directory is the slightest messed up, who knows!
If many Permission are repaired, or any Directory errors are found, you may need to re-apply some the latest/biggest updates.
May even need to do an Archive and Install if you have room on the HD, but saves all your files and gives a new OS...
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=107120
I only use Software Update to see what is needed, then get them for real via...
    http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/
That way I can wait a week or so, check the forums for potential problems, and get Permissions & such in order before installing.
If all the above fails, then it appears to be time for an Archive & Install, which gives you a new/old OS, but can preserve all your files, pics, music, settings, etc., as long as you have plenty of free disk space...
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=107120
Just be sure to select Preserve Users & Settings.
