Some library files are missing

Hi All,
i successfully installed 11.1.0.7.0 on one of my VM . o/s version is redhat linux 5.6 . when i checked in my oracle_home/bin directory ,some library files are missing (like probcocob32, 32bit libs oracle components) . so can anyone help me how to installed this particular compenents. i didnot use GUI. I Used silent installaion.

Does iTunes still play the tracks that haven't been consolidated or do they now have broken links? If the links are broken are the tracks still, in fact, in their original locations?

  • Can't create a recovery drive: "Some required files are missing"

    Hi guys,
Didn't have much luck in MS forums, maybe somebody here knows?
Whenever I try to create a recovery drive I find that "We can't create a recovery drive on this PC. Some required files are missing. To troubleshoot problems when your PC can't start, use your Windows installation disc or media."
    Uh?
Is a fresh Windows 8 x64 (RTM) installation. Only thing that I can think of is it has UEFI and Secure Boot enabled.
If I helped you, please give me some kudos! ^^

    Hey there dann,
What version of Windows 8 are you using? It appears you may need to the Window 8 disc to be able to create the recovery drive because it needs files that are not on your system. I found those part numbers for the Windows 8 recovery media for you.
    04T7196 - Win 8 64 Bit US
    04T7223 - Win 8 Pro 64 Bit US
Additional part numbers can be found here for all system parts and recovery media for you the Twist (s230u). If you contact service back they should be able to get the media sent to you. Good Luck.

  • I'm getting a message that says itunes cannot run b/c some required files are missing.  Please reinstall itunes.  I'm scared to, I don't want it to replace my current itunes and lose all my music!

I'm getting a message that says itunes cannot run b/c some required files are missing.  Please reinstall itunes.  I'm scared to because I don't want to lose my music.

Reinstalling iTunes simply replaces the application.  It shouldn't affect your media.  You do have backups, right?

  • Itunes cannot run because some required files are missing...vista 64 bit OS

I'm running on a Vista 64 bit HP computer, and I have been trying to download itunes for the past couple days and all it says is Itunes cannot run because some required files are missing please reinstall itunes...I have no idea what to do...i have looked around the forums for information and I guess I'm not the only one having issues using a 64 bit OS. Btw the 64 bit Itunes won't work either. It does the same exact thing...

all it says is Itunes cannot run because some required files are missing please reinstall itunes
I'd like to check for malware with that message, Nico. (With modern versions of iTunes, if files really were missing, iTunes would be much more likely to do a repair install of itself when you wen't to launch it, rather than returning the old-fashioned files-are-missing message.
Download and install the free version of MalwareBytes AntiMalware. Update your MBAM definitions and run a full scan of the PC. (Takes about 2 hours on My Lenovo.)

After the scan completes, find the log file for the scan, and paste the contents of the log into a reply here.

  • ITunes can not run because some required files are missing.

I got a message that said something like "iTunes can not run because some required files are missing. reinstall itunes." I tried to reinstall iTunes but I kept getting that message. So, i uninstalled it, and tried to install it again. this did not work. I think that Quicktime is actually what is broken, because iTunes installs fine, but the Quicktime installation failed. When the installation failed, i got a message that said, "Installation failed: error code: -3"
I then tried installing Quicktime with the standalone installer. The installation got further, but it then failed as well, giving the error code -1603.
What can I do to get this reinstalled, and if you can't answer that, how can I contact Apple from Iraq? Thank you.

hmmm...that happened to me at one point to, and I'm trying to think back, I believe I was able to uninstall it by using the standalone installer.....
Try these steps and see if anything helps, and then in the troubleshooting section, look up the specific error number you are receiving...

    So thanks for your help!!!

    Hi Guggi2k,
If you are still having issues after a reinstall, you may want to make sure that you are completely removing all the iTunes files before reinstalling. You may find the following article helpful:

  • Some my files are missing. How can i back my files?

some my files are missing. How can i back my files?

Searching with spotlight doesn't tell you where they are?
If you back up your files with TimeMachine, you can restore them very easily, though.

  • Some MP3 files are missing!!!

    hi
each time i transfer my MP3s to my ipod some of them are missed and they can't even be added by itunes in the library
    directory
    someone help me plz! >_<

The problem with the screen may be that you had a dead pixel in your screen. If your under warranty you should try and exchange it. That is if it bothers you.
About the files not transferring. Have you searched for the song(s) in question through the "Songs" search or are you looking through the "Artists" search on your iPod? I ask because if you search through "Artists" for a song under a certain artist and the song isn't there then it may be that you have not filled out the songs info completely. If you search through Songs you should be able to find it if it doesn't have the album title listed on the song. Hope this helps.

  • .xml file and iTunes library files are missing from the music folder

I recently made a second itunes library on my external hd, today when I open itunes and choose this library, the .xml file and itunes music file are invisible or translucent, therefore I can't open my library. But when I go to my music folder they are missing. Another odd thing is that all my music is still in the folder. Is there a way to re-open my library w/o re-importing all my music? Can I some how get a new itunes library file?
      Mac OS X (10.4.10)

This is not an answer but I have the same problem. From time to time I clone my music drive to an external drive for back up. When I do, I burn a copy of the album artwork folder, iTunes Music folder, iTunes Library.itl, iTunes Music Libraru.xml, and iTunes Library file to CDRW. This is so I can copy them into the music folder in my user home drive of my laptop then hook up the external and have access my library. Trouble is the .xml file and iTunes library files don't always show up when I go to the iTunes folder in my Music folder. There either is a blank where they should be or the names appear with no icon and when I click to select, that dissappers too. I thought I had a solve by exiting iTunes and letting it save everything. It seems to bring the .xml file back but not the itunes Library file. Any thoughts?

  • Need to re-burn a DVD, but some source files are missing. But Media Cache folder has them all.

hi all. I have PE3 and the issue is this: I needed a DVD of a project I'd completed a year ago, and I didn't have an old copy of the DVD. So I decided to re-burn it. But on opening the project, it seems some of the source files have been misplaced on my computer, so it says 'media offline'.
I figured I'd still be able to burn it though, because the Media Cache folder contained all the required files...
However it starts to burn the DVD and then stops at 49% saying transcoding error.
Q1: can you still burn a DVD if it says 'media offline' but you know all the source files are present in the Media Cache folder?
    Q2: what's the transcoding error?
    thx

The Media Cache folder contains files that are only of use to PE during internal editing and will NOT solve your lost video problem.
Once a Project is completed, that have no outside value.
The contents are CFA and PEK files, which is the Conformed Audio and Waveform Display, respectively (no video here to my knowledge).
And I'm not aware of any way to make them useful (outside of PE).
If you happen to have your Project and source video/audio files intact, and then delete the contents of the Media Cache folder, upon re-opening the Project, PE will regenerate the CFA and PEK files. Again this is only if you have the Project and all the source files (Assets)...

  • I uninstalled Photoshop CS4 and now my Photoshop CS6 says that some Support files are missing

It tells me to re-install the CS6 programme.  Surely vital files should not have been removed when using the uninstaller of an older version?  If I have to re-install CS6, do I first have to uninstall it too?

Thanks very much for your help!  I also have CS5 on my computer (I want to keep it as I have the Picture Package plugin which does not run on CS6 - the many requests for it appear to have fallen on deaf ears).  If I use  the Adobe CS Cleaner Tool after uninstalling CS6, will it remove CS5 as well?  If so, this nonsense is quickly becoming a nightmare!  Incidentally, I'm now getting the same warning about missing files when I open CS5.  I wonder if I should simply re-install CS4!
Actually, despite the warning notices, CS6 still appears to be working.  I haven't fully tested it but the basic functions are working normally, so I'm not sure what the missing files are designed to do.
I tried to get help via Online Chat but all that the non-technical operator could offer was a phone number which I'm not prepared to use, from New Zealand.  They surely should have technicians able to address these sort of questions using the Chat system, especially as they do not have an email contact method!  And why don't they?!
Do Adobe employees ever visit these forums?

With that one in that context, I think we should check for malware.

  • "iTunes cannot run because some of its required files are missing."  Help!!

"iTunes cannot run because some of its required files are missing." Help!!
Hello everyone, I have looked throughout this forum but couldn’t find anything similar so I am posting this in the hope of someone helping me out.
I have encountered some problems with iTunes (most recent edition) after doing a Dell update which seems to have knocked something out with iTunes.
Whenever I hit the iTunes icon it refuses to run and iTunes displays the following message:-
"iTunes cannot run because some of its required files are missing. Please reinstall iTunes."
I don’t want to reinstall itunes from fresh as this will mean losing all the records and playlists that I have spent the last 3 years using.
I first want to try by getting my old one back by any means neccessary.
Like I said this problem first happened after a standard Dell update.
I do have the option of doing a restore with the Dell or using Windows Vista restore itself but I fear I do not have enough disk space.
On the Dell update I can restore to settings of a previous date which might bring iTunes back but when attempt to do
that I keep getting the following message,
"Not enough free disk space to back up"
Around this time I am given a lists of what will be backed up and this readsas follows:-
    Pics 2.87gb
    Music 71.72gb
    Videos 330.57mb
    Documents 219.11mb
    Email etc 203.64mb
How do I free up disk space to do the back up? An external hard drive?? If I baIs there anyway of getting a previous version of iTunes back?
My drive information is as follows:-
    C Drive: Very little room - red warning - 5.67gb of 138gb
    D Drive: 6.34gb of 9.99 free
Do I have too much music?
Ideally don't want to reinstall itunes as is a ball ache, and it has all the playlists etc so if there is
a way of restoring and getting back iTunes either via restoring system to the prior date when iTunes was ok.
C drive is really full now. How can I clean this up and make more room? Do I need to add memory? Are all the songs
causing the problem? What advise can you give me? Please help.
    Thanks!

    Nodders:
I've recently had exactly the same message as you, after iTunes updated to 10.1.1.4. First of all, I checked the *My Music* folder to make sure it was still there - it was. (I do have a back up of that folder anyway!)
I then chose the re-install iTunes option and a pop-up box asked if I wanted to uninstall iTunes or repair it. I (obviously) chose repair and I'm pretty sure what happened was that the install process simply re-installed a damaged (or missing) file. It far too quick to be a fresh install. My library was intact.
So my advice(for what it's worth) is take the re-install option and then repair option. I can't guarantee anything, but ...
By the way, after I experienced a recent hard drive failure, I decided to invest in a 1TB external drive to back up my iTunes library and personal files because it's a much easier way of backing up than my previous method. Luckily, I only lost a small recent part of my library, but it taught me a lesson. Back up regurlarly, using a larger hard drive than you are using on your computer (which allows you to keep the most recent and +next most recent+ back-ups, and don't rely on Windows to do the backing up. Find a suitable backup piece of software. (My hard drive came with s/w built in.)

  • ITunes (11.3 64bit) cannot run because some its required files are missing. Please reinstall iTunes.

just set up my new laptop lenovo x240.
    Windows 7 SP1.
    itunes 64bit 11.3
first install went fine. then I tried to move my preexisting library. the library did not show the apps. so I tried around. Treid to re-install itunes.
Since I did, after the re-install, iTunes gives me the error message "iTunes cannot run because some its required files are missing. Please reinstall iTunes."
I tried the  -_> link: Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
unfortunately it did not resolve. please, advise... I am quite desperate... and surprised this is happening, since I am on a clean corporate laptop.
perhaps, can someone also steer me to a corner, where I can deactivate the cloud install pop-up ones starting iTunes?

See the advice given in the user tip:Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates for a very workable approach.

  • Error/ Win XP..."iTunes cannot run b/c some of its req. files are missing

Error message In Windows XP..."iTunes cannot run because some of its required files are missing. Please reinstall iTunes".
but before I uninstall/reinstall I want to know if I will lose my libraries? Thanks in advance

it depends. have you "consolidated" your library? i.e, is your music in the itunes folder or elsewhere. if it's in the itunes folder, cut all your music and paste it elsewhere. if it's elsewhere, itunes shouldn't delete anything. if you're terrified, go illegal. download a program like yamipod (you can google it), and use the program to put all your music onto an ipod. delete itunes and reinstall it, and if the music was deleted you can (illegally, but it doesn't matter) use yamipod to copy the songs back from your ipod to the computer.
