Some Mail Folders don't appear on iPhone/iPad

I have folders in my email account that appeared ok on iPhone 3G, but a few of them don't appear neither on the iPad or on my new iPhone 4 (more files missing on iPad than on iPhone 4).
Anyone know the reason?

Assuming the email account is an IMAP account and it must be for this, all server stored mailboxes with an IMAP account should be available with each email client used to access the account.

Thank you, razmee209! I must have checked everything 1,000,000 times, but when I just rechecked settings - notification - mail, I now see that Alerts -- both Show in Notification Center and Show on Lock Screen -- were turned off. Can't believe I missed that, so THANK YOU!

Is your email account an IMAP account? If not, the folders will not sync.
If your email account is a POP account, you can create folders and mailboxes in the Mac mail app and those folders will be for local storage and organization on the Mac only. That is a feature of the Mac mail software. Those folders/mailboxes will not sync if you do not have an IMAP account.

Some images don't appear in iPhone, but do on desktop.

Can someone download this PDF and let me know why the jpg images appear fine when viewing with desktop browser, but some images in the same document don't appear when viewing in Safari on the iPhone? Vector artwork and text show fine. Shows white space where JPGs should be.

I just heard about this day before yesterday at the InDesign Print and ePublishing Conference in Washington, DC. When using display on an iOS device JPEG 2000 is not supported. There are two flavors of JPEG: JPEG & JPEG 2000.

If I go to page 1 and 4 in your PDF and use Output Preview in Acrobat Pro (in Acro 9 > Advanced Print Production > Output Preview). Click on the Object Inspector tab and click on the image. It uses a JPEG 2000 filter.
Since I don't know how the image was created and saved, I'll leave it to you to resave it as normal JPEG.

Some flash files don't appear on macintosh

I've installed the latest flash player on a macintosh 10.4.11. But I've noticed that a few flash sites don't appear. Among them the flash player page itself:

As you can see, where the flash movie should play there's just white space. Both on Safari and Firefox for Mac.
I've also tried in on another mac so it's not just my computer.
I've checked the version on: http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about and that flash movie runs fine. It also says: 'You have version 10,0,32,18 installed'
At home on a pc these pages (like http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer) work fine. What kind of thing could make the swf disappear on a mac?

That one works fine on both macs to. It's not just my mac giving trouble. Tested in on another mac too to make sure it's not my computer. The other one has only the basic operating system (os 10.4.11) and the latest flash player and other default stuff. So no fancy additions like on mine. But the same result there:

Another site which gives white space is www.morethanline.nl. I can see the preloader, but after that the screen turns white exept for the red ribbon on the top left which says 'vacatures' . Clicking on that doesn't do anything, which I expect is because it changes the main movie in the center. Which is white so even though it would change to the 'vacatures' page, I wouldn't see it.
Is it perhaps the way the swf loads external swf's? Some way that isn't compatible on a mac and works fine on a pc? I don't know how the products/flashplayer swf loads the external movie. Do you happen to know how it is loaded? I can see the play/pauze buttons as you can see from my screendump. Just not the loaded video. Perhaps there's some specific way it is loaded which doesn't work on a mac and gives white space instead?

You need to use IMAP so that your messages stay on the server so that both devices can download them.

I am unable to access mail folders on my mac from my iPad: is this s settings issue?

I keep a selected number of incoming e-mails in subject specific folders on my Mac for future reference. I am able to access all incoming e-mails on both my Mac and my iPad but these mail folders only on my Mac. If this is a settings issue, can anyone advise me how to correct the issue?

If you are using a POP type email account, no, those folders would not transfer over. They only exist on your Mac.
If you are using an IMAP type account, it is still possible you created the folders locally on the Mac rather than on the server. You may need to recreate them and then move emails over to the new folders.

FLV file don't show on iPhones, iPads, etc.

I'm on a iMac with a 3.06 GHz Intel Core i3 processor running 10.6.8. I build websites using Dreamweaver CS4 and all my media files are FLV files. I've noticed that none of the media shows on a iPhone, iPad, etc. Is there a media file format that I can use that works for browsers and will show on iPhones, iPod, etc.? I also noticed that SWF file don't show either. Any direction would be helpful.

Those are Flash content types. Flash doesn't exist on iOS, and won't exist on any future mobile platforms, according to Adobe.

Some iCloud mail folders are not appearing in Outlook 2010.

Some of my iCloud folders are no longer appearing in Outlook 2010 using Windows 7. I have the same identical missing folders on two different PCs. This is a fairly recent problem; I don't believe I had this problem until the last week or so. I would appreciate some help fixing this problem.

I found the answer shortly after posing the question. For whatever reason, I was no longer subscribed to the missing folders. I went to the View page, clicked on IMAP folders, subscribed to the folders and all is well.

Hi we use kerio as our mail exchange server and its running great. The problem is i believe with apple mail checked the mail server logs all fine.
Sometimes, like this morning for instance I spoke to someone this morning who had sent me an email and it didn't show in my inbox until i just restarted mail this afternoon when it appeared??Sometimes the mail appears on the iphone at the correct time running exchange and not in mail.
This is happening to a few people in the company and I'm getting it in the ear.. for missed deadlines.
Anyone having similar experiences or know of the reason why? and how to rectify it? Its only the odd occasion, but it always seems to be an important email.

How it works:
After the installation you won ‘t find an application icon as it integrated within your menu options only. Visit the locations you want to white list and add them to the WiFi-Manager list. Ensure you have enabled the WiFi manager and then you ready to go.
Note: Sometimes a location might be between two cell towers or more so you might have to add the location multiple times to ensure you cover each cell tower.

E-mail contents don't appear in the preview window

After installing Leopard my new messages will not show in the preview pane. When I open the message, it is there and when I close the message window the content will then display in the preview pane (and always does after that). Only new messages don't show. Any idea/suggestion?

I have a similar problem as the message header and sender are not shown in the list. Only the date and size are shown. But when i click the empty line the message will show in the preview pane. I can also open the message flowless.
When I reply on a message the senders address is not auto-filled.
btw, this only happens with some of my mail, not all.
I use IMAP for my accounts.

ipad Mail displays TO and FROM addresses and subject but no content? How do I restore content so I can read my emails? My iCloud sychronised PC laptop and iPhone have all content. So not a DNS malware problem.

Try a Reset [Hold the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons down together for 10 seconds or so (until the Apple logo appears) and then release. The screen will go blank and then power ON again in the normal way.] It is app and data safe!

Lost some mail folders

I just update to maverick and now some of the folders I had added to mail have disappeared.

Hi Linda, I've just installed Mavericks and I have the same problems as you - all of my folders have disappeard, along with my notes, agghh! Have you managed to get yours back? If so, how did you do it?

Subscribed podcasts don't appear on iPhone app.

I subscribe to the Diane Rehm show podcast (both the normal show and the Friday News Roundup). However, my iphone never shows the Friday News Roundup podcasts. These do appear on my iTunes account. When I sync with iTunes, the podcast still don't get loaded onto the iPhone. How can I get the iOS app to see these podcasts?
BTW, this is almost the worst iOS app that there has been, second only to Apple's mapping software.

Select them in itunes & sync them to your phone.
