Some mails are not collected by Thunderbird

Hi,
I am facing a very strange behavior with Thunderbird (v 24.3.0) . I am in POP3. I have configured all my mails readers (actually my PC and my Android Smartphone) to leave the messages on the server.
My Smartphone is configured to remove the mail from the server when I delete it on the phone.
When I retrieve the mails on my computer, using Thunderbird, I get most of the mails, but not all of them.
The missing ones are not arriving in a junk folder, this looks like they are simply not collected from the server. How is this possible ?
I can see the mails are still on the server, but they are not grabbed by Thunderbird ... even if I forced them unread on the server.
This is really a problem as my computer is the golden depository for my mails so if some are missing this is definitely bad :-(
Have any of you already faced this issue ?
How could I debug this ?

my first suggestion would be turn off the phone and see if the issue continues.

Hello Acer-Tommy, This looks like a very common issue with most of the Acer laptops. It is not that all the Acer laptops having the keyboard issue have problems with the same keys. But this is a huge problem!! And can render any keys dead, not some specific. I have the same problem on my Acer Aspire 8943G, which I had purchased for a hefty price. But the support for your products is as bad as the hardware of the Acer Aspire laptops. In my case, my Aspire 8943G's keys, "S", "D", "G", "H", "M", (Including the main "Return" key) and "7" and "8" on the Number-pad are dead. I have to use the Virtual Keyboard in windows OS to type. This is very frustrating as one cannot even type simple comments (I am using another PC from HP to write this comment). When I tried to contact the Support, they want me to send the laptop to them on my own cost, and if there is a hardware issue found, I will have to pay additional charges for service and replacement of the keyboard. And this is unacceptable as I have already paid a huge sum for buying this product, and I use it daily for work. Sending it to Acer support just for verification would take weeks and it will create problems for me and my work. So first of all, please realize and agree to the fact that this is a huge problem which many of the Acer laptops are facing. And try to provide a better option and service support to the customers who have purchased these products. Keyboard is a part of the PC without which the PC is useless... Some clients are not receiving my mail attachments. Other recipients of the same email DO receive these attachments. It doesn't matter whether it is a jpg, pdf, doc, or other. Sending from gmail or entourage works, only sending from apple mail is a problem. This has been an ongoing problem for me in Lion and Snow Leopard. I'm new to this forum, so not sure I'm posting in the right area, but I've searched for an answer and can't find anything. Do I need a plug-in or something? I like my apple mail and don't want to switch, but this is a real problem for me. Help, please!

We have the same problem in Snow Leopard, so the problem isn't new. I've been researching this for a while now. Based on what I've read in a whole load of discussions it seems it's an issue in the way Outlook reads the e-mails send by Apple Mail. I've no idea of the technicalities of this but one obvious difference is that Mail's default formatting is Rich Text and Outlook's is HTML, but what do I know.
We've done variuos test with our PC based clients but with no success: Send as Icon; Window's friendly attachement; Mail Attachement Iconiser, etc. Nothing gets rid of the problem entirely. We're a Mac based Public Relations agency and we send image to the media all of the time...and we have no guarantees that they are getting through.
It's frustrating that Mail doesn't have an option, as it does for plain text, to send in an outlook friendly way. To me it's a huge problem and if Apple isn't going to sort it, given that Outlook is the choice of Enterprise and 95% of our clients, then we're going to have to spend thousands and switch to Outlook. Apple have gone to great pains to promote cross-compatibility with PC's and perhaps this is one little example of where they could try harder.
Mail has not had much obvious love and attention for a while and if there's an Apple employee looking in on this thread, perhaps it's time to love it up, give it a few more bells and whistles (without over-complicating of course) and make it sing with Outlook.
My last attenpt is to try Thunderbird as a default mail client; I'm told it doesn't suffer from the same PC compatibility issues.

Check the S.M.A.R.T. status on your HD: Boot from install disc (insert disc > restart > immediately hold down the c key and keep holding it until you see “Preparing Installation”) > at first screen select the language and click Continue > click on the Utilities Menu in the menu bar > select Disk Utility > select your HD in the panel on the left side (the name of the HD’s manufacturer and the model number, usually the top item in the list) > look at the bottom of the main window next to S.M.A.R.T. status and see if it says “Verified” (good) or something more ominous like “Failing.”
If S.M.A.R.T. status is "Verified," run Repair Disk > click Repair Disk at bottom of main window. Run this at least twice, and keep running it until it says “appears ok” twice in a row. If that doesn’t happen, you may need a stronger utility (such as DriveGenius, TechToolPro, DiskWarrior) or if the directory is damaged beyond repair, you may need to reinstall the OS, or you may have a damaged HD which will need to be replaced (repair utilities can only repair the directory structure, not the HD itself). When this is finished, quit Disk Utility, quit the installer, and restart. Once booted normally, go to Applications > Utilities > Disk Utility and run Repair Permissions.

Some outgoing e mails are not getting through

Some of the people I e mail are not getting any of my e mails. I use the verizon e mail online not outlook express or any other software. Most of my e mails are getting through but not all. Anyone have an idea why this could be happening? It's not that my e mail is blocked on the other end. One of the recipients is my dad and he isn't getting my e mail. I walked him through his setup and he does not have me blocked and I am in his address book.

Is there a particular domain you are having trouble with? Are you getting any delivery delay/failure messages?

Poor metadata needs to be corrected if the album is to display properly in iTunes. iTunes sees an "album" as any collection of tracks with the same Album title and the same Album Artist (or Artist if Album Artist isn't set). Each track of the album should have distinct Track V of W and Disc X of Y vaules. W,X,Y are optional, but X may be needed for multi disc albums.

Spam mails are not deleted from the spam folder

In the account settings, I have set the spam mail to be automatically deleted after one day. In spite of that, spam mail in the spam folder is not automatically deleted at any time, even if I restart Thunderbird. In the end, I always have to clean the spam folder manually.

I realized that I didn't select the option 'enable adaptive junk mail controls for this account', but, even selecting it, the junk mails are not automatically cleaned. I tried restarting Thunderbird, restarting the computer, and even manually changing the date and restarting Thunderbird, but nothing worked.
I checked the entries in the advanced configuration, and they are all correct.
My aim, as it was with the other problem I posted, is just to help to improve the development of Thunderbird by pointing the bugs. But they are actually really minor issues and not a real problem for me. So don't worry if the problem is not finally solved.

Images in mail are not shown after ios8 update

After update iOS8 the images attached in mails are not shown constantly, I configured my iPhone and iPad to show the images in mails but it is not working all time.
The issue is with photos sent from my ip cameras, these are showing for one mail and for other not.

I'm not familiar with fuse, but I found the action in line one of your third frame (on the main timeline) dubious, and a quick search lead me to try "portfolio._brightness = 0;" as first line (and I commented out the original line) that worked.
My quess is that whatever template or original file you've been modifing/adjusting used some kind of color-fade in at that point, and you somehow broke it.
To me it looks ok without it, but you let me know if you need further guesswork from me.

My Sites database status changed to "Database is up to date, but some sites are not completely upgraded."

We have a brand new SharePoint 2013 farm which we just put into production. As users have begun creating their My Sites, the My Sites web application database changed to a status of "Database is up to date, but some sites are not completely upgraded."
Huh?
Prior to deploying to production, we had some test users that had created My Sites, and everything was fine. The database status was "No action required".
Anyone know why the creation of My Sites would cause the database status to flip to this warning?

First of all, to identify what site collection doesn't got upgraded.
         Run: stsadm.exe -o localupgradestatus > upgradestatus.txt
or
PSConfig.exe -cmd upgrade -inplace b2b -force -cmd applicationcontent -install -cmd installfeatures (Run from one of the WFE server)
In below as you see, there no site collection that need upgrade. If you have any, you can identify
them by searching by word "Needs upgrade" in this file.
Secondly, run the command in the Power Shell:
For resuming the upgrade, you’ll need the ID for the database :
Get-SPContentDatabase -Identity <your content database name>
When you got the GUID for the database you can then resume the upgrade
         upgrade-spcontentdatabase -id <database
GUID>
Finally, check the upgrade status by running stsadm again:
stsadm.exe -o localupgradestatus > upgradestatus.

I created a VB.NET program using VS2005 sample.
When the program refers to CR10's DLLs (VS2005 bundle),
it prompts all parameters correctly.
But when the program refers to CR12's DLLs, some parameters are not prompted.
I installed merge module 12.2.
I also checked CR11 (merge module 11.5) and found the result is equal to CS12.

Is there any official word from Microsoft regarding the issue with SQL Server Reporting Services 2012 for SharePoint where 2 of the reporting service application databases show "Database is up to date, but some sites are not completely upgraded".

It might be a known issue of SQL Server 2012. I would suggest opening a case with Microsoft Customer Support Services (CSS) (http://support.microsoft.com), so that a dedicated Support Professional can assist you

Elements Organizer - some WMV are not displayed properly in the Play Video but are in Play Vide on Full screen. What's the problem? Wrong codec?

Because WMV's can contain a lot of flags, like DRM, they can exhibit odd behavior, indeed.
Usually, AV files will display in their native resolution, i.e. in their set Frame Size/Aspect Ratio and with their set PAR (Pixel Aspect Ratio), but sometimes those flags are missed, or are altered by other programs.
Remember, WMV's are designed to be streaming delivery-only, and are not intended, or designed to be edited. Most NLE's (Non Linear Editors) will allow them to be edited, but will require extra processing to do so. As is mentioned, WMM is designed around editing that delivery-only format, but most others are not.
There are many other formats/CODEC's, that ARE designed to be edited by the vast majority of NLE's, such as DV-AVI Type II's.
The best workflow is to NOT bring WMV's into the mix, unless one is using WMM exclusively. Converting those to an easily editable format/CODEC will always be the best course of action.
