Some movies are on my Apple TV but not on my Mac.

I just set up my new Apple TV today and I noticed when I log in with my Apple account, there are a few movies I can see in my Apple TV list but not my iTunes list on my Mac? Why is this? Also, I purchased a movie through Apple TV, how do I download it to my Mac?

Okay, I think i'm having the same problem again after I purchase a movie through my Apple TV. I cannot see it in my initial movies list whn i log onto my Apple ID here at my work computer. Before I was able to see ALL my library but now I cannot see them. And I also noticed on my computer at home. I logged out, then logged back in just to be sure and I cannot see all of my movies. I though you can just be able t watch the movies you have purchased or loaded from a disc onot iTunes without haveing to download them at all. (just stream them)
Here on my work computer, I do have "check for available downloads" checked and on my computer at home. I also checked the purchased tab in the iTunes home wondow and on my home computer is stated that all downlaods for my ID are available, or whatever it says, cant really remember off the top of my head. Here on my work computer I did the same thing and I see ALL my movies. But that is the thing, I do not want to downlaod them on my work computer, just stream them. Like I said, before, I was able to just see them in my movies tab and watch them streaming but now they are all gone.

If they are rentals and you downloaded them directly on your old iPad then that is the only device that you can watch them on - rentals are one-time only downloads, and those that are downloaded directly on a device (as opposed to a computer's iTunes) can't be moved to another device or computer.

How transfer movies from itunes to apple tv but not from aTV to itunes

I want to transfer the movies and tv shows that I have in iTunes to my Apple TV but I dont want the content of my apple tv to be transfered to itunes, I dont have enough space in my macbook. I tried to sync them but it automatically copies the content of apple tv to itunes and when I cancel the sync it threatens me to erase the content of my apple tv. I took the risk and disconnected itunes from my apple tv, nothing purchased on apple tv was erased but the movies that miraculously were able to be copied from itunes to atv were erased from atv (i still have them on itunes). I still want to transfer those movies to my apple tv, but whenever I do that apple tv keeps syncing with itunes and sends everything to my macbook. I just want to free space of my macbook without erasing anything from apple tv.

It's the way it works.
the iTunes library is supposed to be 'in sync' with AppleTV, so anything bought on AppleTv copies to iTunes to keep things in sync.
If you delete from iTunes it'll delete from appletv too.
There's no manual way to get stuff off appletv so you must make a backup of the files transferred to itunes.
If you then delete the files from their folder direct (right click on a file in itunes and open it's location) but DON'T delete the entry in itunes, you'll free space up on the laptop. You must make a copy first onto say a DVD or external drive unless you're happy for things just to be on appletv and to lose the if it fails/breaks. Remember you cannot manually access the files in appletv to do a file transfer.

Some fonts are in library fonts folder, but not in font book or in illustrator

also no fonts names listed in attributes, when you highlight font in the artwork, (but does list whether it is regular/bold!)
-also when I go about illustrator(11) it gives me info but locks program and have to force quit

Type 1 (PostScript) fonts require 2 files to make them work.
The FFIL files are screen fonts which load into the OS/programs in order to show up in the menus. They should show up as Font Suitcase in the KIND column of the finder. You will also need the corresponding LWFN file which is the postscript outline file. That will show up as Postscript Type 1 outline font in the KIND column of the finder. That is used to render the font on screen and output it.
OSX needs both of those in the same location in order to work correctly. Needing two pieces is just part of the problem. The names of the files are also different. The PostScript parts usually having abreviated names.
And it's more complex than that. One FFIL file actually may have many screen fonts inside it for the different variations of the font family. Then you will need to make sure you have separate LWFN files for all of those.
I know it's confusing. The 2-piece font just asks for problems. Unfortunately that is how Adobe invented them 20+ years ago.
OSX makes it harder by not letting you open the FFIL file to see what's inside. In OS 9 and earlier you could open the suitcases and add or remove screen fonts - even add unrelated fonts all to the same suitcase
Well I've rambled enough about Type one Fonts. I hope my first few paragraphs clear up some of it for you.

If it can copy all as album folders its easy to run one album at atime and can here. Now it not working like that and i need to select always song.

If I'm right about that, I'm still not really clear at all about what you're doing. Where are you importing these songs and albums from? Is it existing songs files and if so, what format are they in?

Is itunes match turned on? If so, try holding shift key whilst turning off match.
Now turn match back on, signing in with the apple ID that you used to set up match. You will be asked to add this computer, do so. Once process complete you should see all the music you have in cloud.

It's just the way it is - previously HD rentals were only available via AppleTv though this seems to be changing and there may even be some HD films to purchase now. There may also be a difference with SD content.
How Apple can sell/rent movies/TV Shows will be strictly governed by the movie companies/studios who own the rights, and they or Apple for one reason or another may have limited what can be rented where either for commercial or logistical reasons.
I suspect there was partly a case of Apple assuming no point allowing HD rentals from iTunes because they assumed there's be no benefit for iPod/iphone users whose devices would not be HD capable - of course they may have discounted people who want to watch a movie on their laptop or computer.
It could also be a case of limiting demand while server backbone architecture is improved - AppleTV users will be a minority compared to other iTunes users so treading the water with say HD rentals on this device will have less of an overnight impact on demand/capacity of servers to deliver the goods.
Truth is, it's just the way it is, but is likely to change to a more logical model over time, but there'll stil be widespread differences in content availability/pricing from country to country.

Please understand I am a frustrated customer like you, , but the availability of movies that have been shown before is dependant on licencing from the rights owners. Sky quite rightly have to pay the film studios for the ability to show to Sky's customers. As I understand it they purchase the right for a period of time, hence when the right expires then it has to be removed. The costing of the movies does reflect on the anticipated popularity of the programme, hence an older less popular movie might seem expensive but if not many people watch and pay that would be right. The apparent silliness of having movies in the store and on demand, allows those people who do not have a movie subscription to rent the movie on a one off basis. I agree that Sky seem to be licencing some programmes for shorter periods and it really upsets me when movies appear in buy and keep but not available to rent only. I recently queried Sky about Fortitude being available in OnDemand until 2022!, then of course found out that Sky owns the rights of the series. I can only say be careful if you are a movies subscriber and wish to watch a movie, not to select the Sky Store version if it is available in the Movies on Demand section. I recently wanted to watch a film that I found in Sky store at a cost, and just to be sure I searched for it and found it was to be shown on Channel 4 in a few days. I don't think we'll ever understand how such decision are made as to how long they licence movies for and how the charging model works with the film studios. Logically you would think that a smallish fee to have available indefinately and to pay the studio fee based on the number of rentals would be better, but that might be difficult to administer and Sky would have to have extra server storage fees, which they outsource. You may want to take a look at process for downloading past purchases found in the article below. One key thing to keep in mind it to make sure that you are signed into the iTunes Store with the same AppleID that you used to purchase the content you need to download.

The iTunes Media folder is set in Preferences > Advanced, and is the key to most iTunes folder organizational activities. So I doubt that the automatic deletion will work for files that are somewhere else within the folder structure.
However, I have not experimented with that issue in quite a while, so you are welcome to give it a try in iTunes 11.

I'm thinking I can convert the files with Compressor and place them in a new folder with their original file names (not sure how to get compressor to do this yet) and then do a major "Reconnect Clip" afterwards.
Not sure if there's a more efficient way to get all the clips in the timeline to compressor. I want the full files, not a sequence export. I can go through one clip and a time and add the master file. I'd rather not.
The more automated processes the better.

yeah Media reconnect can be an issue.
Will Media Manager convert files? Another thing I was thinking was to Media Manage the sequence out, copying all the used files to a new folder, and then running that through compressor. But it still leads to a massive reconnect. Fine tuning all those edits would be less involved than re-editing the whole thing, I hope.

In simple terms then, you can not create a new iCloud account on a PC and an Apple ID is NOT an iCloud account.
Use a Mac or an iPhone etc to open the account, then (and only then) can you sign into it on a PC.

I have the same problem signing in...but, I finally got a screen saying you have to set up a account on a device..like an ipad to get a iCloud sign in ...my apple id is [email protected] and this screen reset to [email protected]
If you don't have an apple device you may be out of luck. I don't know. I'm still waiting for help just as you are...good luck to both of us though.
