Some movies aren't allowing me to buy them

Hello, when I bring some movies up they won't let me buy or rent them. The button to buy isn't active and doesn't respond to my mouse clicks. When I go to another movie, it works. What it wrong?

Do you have a film are rating set on the Parental tab in Edit > Preferences (iTunes > Preferences if using a Mac) that is proreciting the buy and rent buttons on thosw films ?

Well, turbo.264 is indeed very nice to have - even for converting full-sized movies. (Nevertheless, TechRadar's latest roundup (see http://www.techradar.com/news/software/applications/6-of-the-best-video-converte rs-for-mac-1074303 ; also linked from another roundup at http://www.iphonelife.com/blog/87/benchmark-excellent-multimedia-converter-handb rake-vs-commercial-apps ) has shown it's still worse than HandBrake in most respects.)
All H.264 files (assuming they are H.264 level 4.1 or lower) are compatible with the built-in Videos app.

It entirely depends on your needs. The top players (AVPlayerHD / ProPlayer, It's Playing, GoodPlayer) all have different strengths and weaknesses. I myself use It's Playing the most as I convert everything into MP4 and simply love the DSP's (brightness / volume / saturation boosting). (Its software decoders are definitely worse than those of AVPlayerHD / ProPlayer; however, MP4's are played back from hardware.)

Ok every son gneeds artist and album, but why in my 20 G photo Ipod I can see the songs searching via artist without any problem. And why in the new 30G video Ipod it only happens with some artists, cause for example I have 40 u2 songs, some with album name and some not, and all of them appear searching via artist. But with another artist, for example def leppard, I have 15 songs (some with album name, and some not) and searching via artist I can see only the ones in some particular album, and others that also have album name dont appear unless I look for them via song

Please understand I am a frustrated customer like you, , but the availability of movies that have been shown before is dependant on licencing from the rights owners. Sky quite rightly have to pay the film studios for the ability to show to Sky's customers. As I understand it they purchase the right for a period of time, hence when the right expires then it has to be removed. The costing of the movies does reflect on the anticipated popularity of the programme, hence an older less popular movie might seem expensive but if not many people watch and pay that would be right. The apparent silliness of having movies in the store and on demand, allows those people who do not have a movie subscription to rent the movie on a one off basis. I agree that Sky seem to be licencing some programmes for shorter periods and it really upsets me when movies appear in buy and keep but not available to rent only. I recently queried Sky about Fortitude being available in OnDemand until 2022!, then of course found out that Sky owns the rights of the series. I can only say be careful if you are a movies subscriber and wish to watch a movie, not to select the Sky Store version if it is available in the Movies on Demand section. I recently wanted to watch a film that I found in Sky store at a cost, and just to be sure I searched for it and found it was to be shown on Channel 4 in a few days. I don't think we'll ever understand how such decision are made as to how long they licence movies for and how the charging model works with the film studios. Logically you would think that a smallish fee to have available indefinately and to pay the studio fee based on the number of rentals would be better, but that might be difficult to administer and Sky would have to have extra server storage fees, which they outsource. Are you in a country where films can be redownloaded - the page that you posted from should list countries and where the different content types can be redownloaded. But even if you, not all countries have agreed to allow their films be redownloaded, and there is no guarantee that a film (or any other item) will remain in the store, so you shouldn't rely on being able to redownload them. You also can't add films and/or tv programmes to the cloud, whether an item appears there depends upon your country, the film studio, and if it remains in the store.

I have these movies downloaded on the old computer from digital hd redeemed codes: Fantastic Mr. Fox, Super 98, Thor, Inception, The Hunger Games, and Star Trek Into Darkness. I bought Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl on itunes with money, and that one isn't showing up either. When I search it on itunes to see if I can just re-download it, that isn't an option. I would have to buy it again. Home Sharing isn't what I want because the old computer will not be here forever and it is not connected to wifi.
It's kind of a lot of movies, and I want them on the new computer.

HT1551 why does my Apple TV say that some movies purchased through iTunes are not authorized to play on the Apple TV (1st gen)

Why will my Apple TV (1st gen) not allow me to play some movies even though they were purchased in the iTunes store? I have sync'd the movies to my Apple TV and there is plenty of room on the drive. I get the error message that says this movie is not authoriezed for play on the Apple TV. Thanks. Ron

Have you purchased anything on the Apple TV recently, next time you make a purchase, try making it on the Apple TV.

*Some* movies in iPhoto not showing in iMovie

Over the last few years I have shot many movies on my Canon S400 and loaded them into iPhoto. All my movies are .avi format. However, iMovie is not recognizing them all so some are not showing up in the Event Library. This problem appeared directly after the last update when it rebuilt the thumbnail library. Does anyone know how to get iMovie to recognize the previously viewable videos?

Thanks, but I need to clarify - this is not a matter of iMovie 08 not recognizing compressed formats. All the movies are from the same camera, as raw .avi's, and non-compressed or edited in any way.
Please clarify further. Am interested in how you define what "raw AVI" is. Have never heard of any form of digitized audio or digitized video that was not coded (i.e., compressed) in one form or another. Please explain how that works. Better yet, please post a screen capture of of the QT Player "Inspector" window showing the format of this "raw AVI."
iMovie is for some reason erroneously not seeing some of them.
As stated above, iMovie '08 can't "see" anything it can't edit.
I was able to export one of the "unseen" videos to my desktop and import it into iMovie 08 from there
I hate to break the news to you, but exporting, by definition, implies a re-compression of the file. And, unless you exported to the very same compression format with the very same settings, you have "converted" the file. In fact, even then, the possibility exists that the file may have been 'flattened" with the end result that an incompatible track may have been discarded or merged into the core audio/video tracks and thus made the file compatible.
but that's a lot of needless hassle.
Better get used to it. Until you can show that both the audio and video tracks are compatible and that there is no other content (such as a "Tween" track) included in the file, there exists at least a presumption that your AVI files as uploaded from your digital camera may not be "edit" compatible with iMovie '08. You can, of course check on this yourself by comparing the the "Inspector" information of you non-importing files with that of your imported file.
All the videos are in the same .avi format.
Are you sure. Some digital cameras have multiple video clip modes which may either changed settings within the same compression formats or actually change the compression formats.
All of them were recognized and worked just fine before the last update. Now, some get recognized by iMovie 08, some others don't.
Apple may have changed "error trapping" routines for the update you referenced. It may be checking intersects of audio data rates against audio sampling rate "standards" now. If you check export combinations you will find that only certain combinations are allowed in QT. Once again, you could help yourself tremendously by simply comparing the statistics of files that work with those of ones that don't work.
This is NOT as issue due to compression formats.
You keep saying this but offer nothing in the way of evidence to support your assertions.

I noticed but I think it is a bug. Nearly every movie, no matter the studio, is no longer available in iTunes in the Cloud after purchaing.

There is no flash player for iPad and likely wont be in the near future. Some people use Skyfire and other apps as ways to view flash on a remote server, but reviews are mixed.
Facebook works fine on the iPad browser, but you can also use dedicated apps. Games such as Farmville are also available in app forms, as is YouTube. What movie sites are you trying to view?

Why won't some movies get imported from camera?

I'm using iPhoto 6.0.6 with Panther, and a USB camera (PowerShot AS7100IS). Everything works great except for one thing: some movies I make with the cameras aren't seen by iPhoto and never imported. I have to do it with Image Capture utility, which is annoying. Does anyone know why this happens - what determines whether it sees the AVIs on the camera or not?

Size is the usual issue. iPhoto will baulk at importing large videos directly from a camera.

Do you have a question ? Not all content is available for re-downloading e.g. if the content provider (or Apple) removes them from the store, and there are also some film studios (in countries where film re-downlaoding is possible) who haven't agreed to allow their films to be re-downloaded.

No, you shouldn't have to - are you going to the Mac App Store or the iTunes store? If the iTunes store, just make certain that you're using the same Apple ID that you used to purchase the movies. If you have any problems, contact iTunes store support - http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/.
