Some movies don't sync.

Hi all,
I have a very annoying problem and can't get it figured out.
I'm hoping to find someone who has had the same problems and knows the fix......
1st things 1st,
I have a MBP and an iPad 2. Both run the newest OS and software.
For my work I make some screen recordings on my pc every now and then.
After recording, I copy them over to my mac, use QT to trim them and then convert them all to the SAME MP4 format using handbrake.
I then throw them in different folders in iphoto which are set up to sync with the iPad in iTunes.
The strange problem is, some of them show up on my ipad in the photos app, some dont.
They are all around the 1 to 2 mins. mark, so no problem there.
As I said, all are converted to the same format and play in iphoto on my MBP no problem when tested.
So, what gives????
Even stranger; Sometimes I re-trim the non syncing ones on my mac and take of a couple of tenths of a second, after which, sometimes, they do get synced to the iPad. Unfortunately this does not always work
So, to sum up:
All these movies are:
From the same source
Converted by the same program to the same format
About the same length
all play on QT and in iPhoto on the MBP
I hope someone can shed some light on this one, but I suspect this is a (pretty big) bug in iTunes.

It may be helpful to remove the iPod Photo Cache folder from within your iPhoto Library.

Some songs don't sync! iPhone 5 (ios7.0.2), iTunes 11.1.1

Last week I tried to sync my iphone and iTunes said I had to install the latest version to do so.
After I installed the 11.1.1, some songs don't sync with the iPhone.
On the 'on this iPhone' tab on iTunes it shows this same songs with a circle before the name, and they are grey, not black as the ones that are on the iPhone.
I've tried to find out what's wrong, even wondered if I did something to mess this up, but I can't figure it out.

Thank you for providing the details of the issue you are experiencing when trying to sync your music to your iPhone.
I recommend trying to resync. You can resync content to the iPhone by unchecking "Sync Music" and then clicking "Apply" and then checking "Sync Music" and then clicking "Apply" again:

Some song don't sync *no warning*

So for some reason whenever I sync my iphone some song just wont sync. They're imported into itunes, and show up there, but whenever I sync they don't show up. Yes they are selected to sync, and yes I've tried doing a soft reset and even a restore. I've also tried it on an iphone 4 and the same thing happens. I've reinstalled itunes with no luck. Any clues?

Couple of thoughts...If these are purchased songs your computer must be athorized for the ID used to purchase them or they won't sync. Also, if you have checked these songs and they won't sync, confirm that you have checked "sync only checked songs and videos" on the Summary tab of your iTunes sync settings.

Movies don't Sync

For some reason after I selected the movies I wanted and tried to sync them with my ipod, I got an error that said they couldn't be copied. I don't understand why because the files are MP4 with the H.264 codec. I've had movies sync before, but for some reason something changed and I can't tell what. I have a first gen ipod touch with software version 2.2.1 and itunes 9.0.1.8. Please help if you can.

That may not be enough, matters like bit rate and resolution count also.
Right click on the movies in iTunes and select Convert to IPod/iPhone (Do not select Apple TV unless you have an Apple TV you want to view them on.).
Let us know what happens.

Some songs don't sync in one smartlist (possible BUG of itunes)

Hi,
I have one smartlist with 200 songs in itunes. After I sync with my iphone and the same smartlist have 190 songs inside the phone.
The files listen ok in itunes and in the iphone (in other lists).
Can be a bug of itunes? Is not the first time that this success me.
Please, help! I don't know what I can do!

I checked "Match only checked items" in smartlist and "Sync only checked songs and videos" in iphone menu. However the problem persist.
I discovered what is the problem. The problem arises when you use the "comment" tag in the SmartList. In other SmartList that do not use the "comment" tag this problem does not happen.
One way to fix this is to delete the album and then add it again to itunes:
1) delete the album that gives you problems with SmartList
2) sync iphone
3) add the album again.
4) sync iphone again.
5) Now the SmartList that uses the "comment" tag appear correctly on the smartlist in iphone.
And I insist that the SmartList in itunes always go well, it's just on the phone where don't work anytimes!
Incredible. I hope that apple will solve this bug. Besides, this does not happen with all the albums, only with some albums! So I have to watch each SmartList in iphone that the sync run well.
ahh what a horror! I have hundreds of lists!! I'll go crazy!

Some Faces Don't Sync to FaceBook

When I sync tagged photos from iPhoto to FaceBook, some of the faces link to their FaceBook accounts and others don't (their names aren't hyperlinked to their accounts).
I've searched around the Apple Community for an answer, but so far nothing I've found has resolved the issue. I went through Contacts and eliminated duplicate entries and entered in the FaceBook usernames and e-mail addresses for the affected faces, but after tagging those people and sharing to FaceBook, they still weren't linked. I can't see any common difference between the Faces that link and those that don't either.

In the iPhoto faces window you need to make sure that the correct fact book email address for the person is entered into their info there - that may not be updated form contacts

Some podcasts don't sync

I've recently began having this problem - some podcast files don't get transfererd to my 60G video ipod. Some podcasts have new, unplayed files that don't seem to get recognized for transfer to the ipod, no mater what I do. I've tried various settings, including sync all podcasts; I've tried deleting the podcasts and redownloading them; etc.
I believe this problem may have started happening when I updated to iTunes 7.0 (and updated my iPod at the same time) but I'm not sure.

The podcast publisher says that there appears to be a technical issue with iTunes 7, however he believes that he has found a workaround. I will let you know when the problem is fixed, so maybe he can share the details with other publishers that are having problems.

HT201317 iPhone 5 and Photo Stream - some photos don't sync

I used my iPhone 5 as my camera on my recent trip to Wales. Most of the photos synced with Photo Stream - for example walking to the castle and leaving the castle are synced and now on Photo Stream, but inside the castle will not sync. Tried turning iPhone off and on, it is charged 100%, good WiFi connection. Same thing happened every day - some photos (the ones I want to have on the iPad) seem to be stuck on the iPhone camera roll. I also turned My Photo Stream off and on again, and when it rebuilt itself, the same photos did not appear in Photo Stream. I'm at a loss as to what to do.

Try taking a new photo on your phone and see if it appears in photo stream on your iPad. If it does, photo stream is working on your phone. If you still have some photos in your camera roll that will not upload to your photo stream you may have to create a shared photo stream containing the missing photos and invite yourself to it. Some movies and songs on iTunes don't sync on iPod

I downloaded lots of songs and movies, but some (and mainly the movies) don't sync on my iPod. I thought this was normal but this time i downloaded so many movies and like 2 got on my iPod that i'm getting pist off! The movies are just normal quicktime mp4 files and they do go in to iTunes but not on my ipod...
So please help me, does someone knows a solution?

I have same problem. I just bought a couple of movies from iTunes and they do not Sync to my iPad I'm using the same apple ID, I dont get it. its frustrating. other movies I have bought before they sync but the new ones do not. I have tried to drag them to the iPad but nothing happens theres no error message nothing.HELP!

Smart playlists don't sync onto iPhone 6, and some other serious problems

Am syncing my music library via cable from a Mac Book iTUnes library onto the iPhone. The songs are on the phone, but
- many songs are duplicated and greyed out
- some songs don't sync at all and have a "download from the cloud" symbol next to them
- some songs are greyed out AND have a "download from the cloud" symbol next to them
- none of my roughly 30 smart playlists and one regular playlist are synced, There are only two standard entries "Genius Playlis" and "New Playlist".
- have tried manually syncing playlists by deselecting "sync all" and just checking one to be synced, but it won't sync either
- there is a mismatch in song count. ITunes on the Mac has 1415 songs, iTunes n the iPHone has 1024 songs

Tried all the solutions but later found that the problem was related to iTunes being unable to find the link to the original file.
In iTunes, click on the Music icon at top left of screen, which should bring up the list of your music, artist, album etc.if you see an exclamation mark next to each file, it may be that the link to the location of your music file is lost. You need to right click on the track name and click GET INFO, then search through your computer to find the location of the missing file. I did this for a few tracks and then iTunes helpfully (?) asked if i would like it to do the rest of my music for me.
Then went back t iTunes and SYNCED as normal. I am not a techo type but hope this is helpful for others. Happy New Year

Wondering why the voices in my movies don't sync when I import them into iMovie. Never had this problem before.

I have updated my iPad to iOS7 and now my movies in DPS don't work anymore!
Some movies work, some movies don't, Most of the ovies set on autoplay don't work.

just tried one of the same ol‘ vids in a newly created folio (v27)... and it works like charm. autoplay, stop at last frame and don‘t allow to stop, all there and running well. just in my older folios the vid refuses to play. same file, same settings overlay settings ... going nutz over here!!!
ps: thx for the handbrake tip ghysie. got this one already and used it before,
but i prefer the media encoder from adobe giving me more flexibility...
and i still don‘t think it‘s an encoding issue...

Sounds like you are trying to sync the HD version of the video. You should try to download the Standard Definition copy instead and sync that to your device as HD content is only compatible with the 4G iPod Touch. See here for more information:

To prevent HD versions from being downloaded in the future head to the iTunes Store, click the Purchased link, and then select TV Shows and remove the tick mark next to Download HD when available. You should be able to download the SD version now from under this same page.
