Unable to upgrade the MSI newer version over older version.

I am trying to upgrade MSI newer version over the MSi older version, so i make " Remove previous version =True" as the property of setup.But when i am runing the MSI exe all thing is happening but it is not copying the files to the target
location, Once i click the shortcut created by MSI installer it showing " Please wait while window is configuring the setup" like this and then start copying the files and open the exe.

Some Positive News on Apple and iPhone Dealings Today

Howdy. I have a good news story from my dealings with Apple and I felt the urge to send some positive news to the masses.
I bought an iPhone 3GS 16gb a month ago and had to make an appt at the Genuis Bar to get some help as battery life was woeful and had a few glitches to report.
The really friendly dude simply gave me a "new" (ie: Replacement) unit and I went away happy. That unit however had someone else's gremlins and did some freaky stuff (such as take a photo of the home screen on its own, rearranged icons literally before my eyes, and shut off and turned back on with reduced life!!).
I returned to the store in Doncaster (Melbourne) today and they provided me a FULL refund of outright costs and Apple plan on an Apple giftcard, then got me a NEW unit, no questions asked and out of the store in 20 minutes all set up and grinning again (coz I seriously love this phone, after being a Nokia and Blakberry Bold fan).
The staff (of 16 in store!!!!), were brilliant and provided Customer Service the way it should be done.
Nice Work Apple.....I tip my hat to you all.

Filemaker Pro 11 - some useful new features

I am not an expert in Filemaker But I have been playing with it quite a bit recently. It sounds like you have opened some of the ports required but not all. All IWP is a webpage that is hosted (by the sounds of it) on your local machine you will need to make sure all required ports are open like port 80 for http. I would start by setting the default host on the airport using the airport utility.
You will want to set this as the ip for the computer that has filemaker on it.
Airport Utility > Network > Network Options
You may also want to make sure you reserve this ip in the DHCP reservations section.
If the IWP page works with this set up then you can work your way backwards opening the required ports ( have a look at this http://help.filemaker.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/6427/~/filemaker-server-and-fi lemaker-server-advanced-port-numbers )
I had lots of problems with IWP but installing the server add on sorted this. The advantage to this is that the server add on configures your airport to use the machine as a server.
Dropbox, log me in, back to my mac are slightly different from what you are doing. They are apps which are open and communicating with their respective servers. When you want to host a web site or even just VNC into a mchine you have to have the ports set to forward accordingly, this is because an outside machine is attempting to initiate the contact. This is what the firewalls and security that comes with modern routers are designed to prevent.

MSI NEW P.E. Series Video Card - GTX670 Power Edition 2GD5/OC with Twin Frozr 4

Glad to be back in the forum and I was been busy for awhile. By this time lots of PC hardware already came out especially from Nvidia. Just like today my share would be MSI's N670GTX PE 2GD5/OC video card.
First of all lets talk about the GTX670 GPU chip. This GPU is the younger sibling of GTX680 which uses the same 28nm GK104 chip but with one disabled shader cluster/core.The reference or standard GPU clock is 915Mhz with a turbo boost of 980 and as for the memory is concerned, it has a 256bit memory bus connected to a 2GB GDDR5 memory with speed of 6008Mhz. Just like with any Kepler based architecture, the card would also have all the goodies like "Adaptive V-Sync", "AA TXAA (Temporal Super Sampling)", supports "DX11.1" and improved 3D Vision Surround.
Moving on, let's check out now what MSI did with their GTX670 SKU based video card. The card is under a new Series named "Power Edition" (series comparison table below) and it comes factory overclocked from GPU clock of 915MHz to 1020MHz and Turbo boost of 980Mhz to 1080Mhz. It also comes with the 4th version of Twin Frozr Thermal Cooling design with a theme color of Black and Blue which matches the color of MSI's midrange to high-end motherboards as well. The dual 8cm PWM fan based cooler are equipped with Propeller Fan Blades which draws air better and now has the so called "Dust Removal Technology", basically as you startup your PC the fan will rotate counter clockwise for 30 seconds clearing the dust from the cooling heatsink. Some bad news about the dust issue occuring with new cinema displays

Hi. Just wanted to share what I went through today. I received a new cinema display for Christmas (early gift exchange with my gf) and was very shocked when I hooked it up to my MacBook Pro and noticed a long piece of dust under the glass (resembled a short piece of string). Once I confirmed it was under the glass, I packed up the display and brought it to the Apple Store in midtown. The Apple reps at the store were friendly and understanding and gave me no problems with an in store exchange request (the original display was purchased online). Upon receiving my second display, I hooked it up in the store to make sure there were no issues. Guess what...DOA. The Apple reps were shocked and slightly embarrassed and went to the back to get me another display. Once display #3 was brought out, we unpacked it and hooked it up to make sure everything looks alright. As soon as we turned on, 1 dead pixel and multiple pieces of dust behind the glass (5-6 dust particles). Once again, the reps say the dust issue is not acceptable and they go into the back to get display #4. Repeat routine and guess what...even MORE dust this time. Close to 9-10 particles throughout the monitor. Unbelievable! I ended up clearing out their stock so we had to leave the store empty handed (gift card equal to the amount of the display for future purchase).
So what to do now? The manager and staff were very friendly and helpful and told me I could call in next week to see if they replenished their stock yet. Once replenished, the manager will check the monitor I am going to purchase prior to me stopping by the store so I don't waste another trip. I have a feeling this issue will be ongoing until it is addressed by Apple but we shall see. I really want this monitor for my new MacBook Pro so hopefully this will get sorted soon.
Anyone else have this problem? Anyone purchase a good display?

I'm glad there are others out there who are also seeing this stuff. My local apple store manager was more concerned about her stores sales rather than making the swap and getting me a new one. They held one after I was on the phone with them for 45 minutes, and this process required me to call back the next day again to make sure it was put on hold because even though they were closed, she couldnt place it on hold. Then, this monitor had dust behind it, and they were out of stock and were very unhelpful. I contacted apple and they have since been shipping me a new monitor. The first one came two days ago, cluster of 4 stuck green pixels noticeable on a black background, backlight issues, and there was some dust.
I've said it before and will again, Apple you make great great stuff, but the displays are going down in quality. I've had iphones, new MBP's, and now cinema displays with dust under the glass. I dont know if they feel that most people don't catch this, and this is worth the price of doing busisness, however, its a shame to waste my time in hopes of getting one eventually that is perfect.
Everyone who I talk to at aplcare is very nice and helpful. It just seems a huge waste of money for them to keep shipping monitors out with this issue when they are ultimately spending more to let me win the lottery so to speak in getting a display that doesnt have issues.
Hopefully apple will see these posts and escalate them. Because I am bout to drop another 6,000 on a 2nd macbook pro and the new imacs when they release, and I pray that I dont have these issues. I would love to know who the vendor is, because they have been very sloppy lately.
Maybe I could get a job at apple working quality assurance? That would be a dream job, playing with all thier new product and doing something useful, and getting paid.......

thats my understanding. the much vaunted optical flow technology. and yes, it does seem that they just added some controls to make it easier to acheive, as opposed to the "compressor method" which Patrick pioneered for us.
of course, now we also have the option of sending motion adjusted material from FCP to Motion 3 and render the clip retiming there too (using the same optical flow technology)
Optical Flow: Uses an optical flow algorithm to blend the two frames surrounding the desired frame. Using this method affects playback performance most significantly. In order to display frames properly, Motion analyzes the clip to determine the directional movement of pixels.

Same setup, some brand new emacs refuse to login

OSX server 10.4.7, OD master, file serving only. I have 11 emacs (10.4.7)to set up for teachers. The teachers already have accounts and home directories, and have been using them successfully for quite some time, logging in from our computer lab (10.3.9) clients. I go through the setup screens, and can successfully see the network, connect to server while logged in locally, and get on internet, but when I add server to ldap in directory access - as I have before on identical machines - all looks correct, but when I try to login as a network user (doesn't matter which one) I get the dreaded 'you cannot login at this time. The home folder for this account is located on an AFP or SMB server" The weird thing is that I have successfully set up 3 identical machines (new emacs) and they login fine. 4 (so far) won't, and I cannot find any differences between the setups. I have tried adding server using FQDN, adding using IP address, removing various cache files, preference files, re-boots, etc. from searces of forums for this problem. Nothing has helped. I cannot track this down to a software update on the server (recently updated to 10.4.7, and security patch) because some work fine, some don't. Another post said to run the command 'hostname' in terminal, and make sure it was the FQDN of the server. IT IS NOT - the command hostname returns the name of the computer - but I don't know what to do to fix it. on the affected emacs, in terminal, 'hostname' returns computer name, eg "mrs-smiths-emac" on good emacs, 'hostname' returns computer name.local, eg "mrs-jones-emac.local"

As far as I know the TV 40TL963B supports an common USB 2.0 HS interface and the USB memory flash can be formatted in FAT16 or FAT32 files system. So there are no special requirements to the USB flash memory

At last some good news for UK iPhone users

After the UK users seemingly getting a raw deal from from Apple as of late (no Atv price drop or movies etc), a report on Pocket lint informs us that our tariffs will be moving into line with their non iPhone tariffs in Feb. below is a copy but for more info check it out.
The three current tariffs for iPhone will be brought in line with the minute and text bundles offered on the new tariff structure.
iPhone customers on a £35 per month contract will get three times more minutes and more than double the number of texts than before.
The new £45 iPhone tariff gives the same amount of minutes and texts as the former £55 tariff so customers who were on the £55 tariff can either save £10 per month or take the new £75 tariff with 3000 minutes and 500 texts a month.
All iPhone customers will continue to receive "unlimited" data browsing and access to The Cloud's Wi-Fi hotspots.

You will not be able to move to a general O2 Pay Monthly tariff. Where you have notified us you wish to move to an alternative iPhone tariff, unless we advise otherwise, your new tariff will commence at the start of your next billing cycle.
I hope to move from the old £45 > new £35 Tariff (£120 a year saving).
Would be good to hear of any experiences from other UK iPhone users attempting to do this or similar.
