Some of my albums are being sorted as books, why!?!

So two days ago, when I opened Itunes to listen to one of my audiobooks, I noticed that in my "books" section I now have two catagories, "songs" and
"audiobooks." In the songs catagoire 22 of my albums have been listed and are now located in my "books" section and not "music". I have no idea how to fix this. I've gone to info and looked for something that classifies them as books but I can't find anything. Does anyone know how I can move these albums back into music and out of books? Any help is appreciated!

Software probably.
Try rebuilding the mailbox. This can take awhile if you have a lot of mail.

Now that we've established that you have the CD correctly imported into iTunes, we can move on from there.
Connect the iPod to iTunes. When it shows up as a Device (in the left window of iTunes) select it. You will be looking at the Summary tab (or pane).
On this pane, my choice is to have the option to Sync only ticked songs and videos selected. I recommend this option for you. This is relevant to the next step.
At the top of the pane select Music. On this pane, check the options for Syncing. You need to have Sync Music selected and then choose either Selected Playlists (which will only put your choice of Playlists onto your iPod) or Entire Music Library. If you select "Entire Music Library" then all your songs (one exception) will be transferred to your iPod.
The exception is: if you un-tick a song in your iTunes Library, then at the next Sync, it will be removed from the iPod but kept in your Library.

Never mind, got it to work. I stumbled around on Google for a while and somehow ended up reading things from the 'jailbroken' community. They had easy instructions to get out of Recovery mode. Thanks anyway though!
P.S. For anyone who experiences this, here is the fix: Hold Power and Home in unison for 6 seconds, then power on as normal.

I recently transferred my ITunes library to an external hard drive. I made sure to copy all the data from the saved location. After the transfer I noticed that a lot of albums are missing the first song and some recently purchased albums are missing.

They only thing I can assume is that my external hard drive was slow to start and iTunes defaulted to its old directory (see the last paragraph at the link above). However, once my external was recognized shouldn't everything have fixed itself?

Some albums are being listed before compilations instead of alphabetical order. Please help

I have a few albums that are being listed after 'Z' alphabetically and before the compilation section rather than being listed alphabetically. Is there any way to fix this? I like to have my albums listed alphabetically and not scattered to the bottom. I have attached a picture that shows this problem (It starts with Josh Groban and goes to the Miley Cyrus song). Any help would be great! Thanks!

Albums are not sorted properly by their titles

I'm using itunes for windows (the latest version).
And I have a problem with album sorting - they're not being properly sorted by their titles.
As you can see it from above, I'm grouping music by genres and inside one genre (in this case, piano sonata), I want to sort them with their titles.
I chose the option which says it sorts by title, but as you can see it's not working properly.
Chopin (C) - Schumann (S) - Liszt (L) - Barber (B)...
Actually most of albums are sorted correctly, but only some of the albums seem to be put on the wrong places.
Is this problem known and is there way to fix this?
It's not a critical problem but it's quite annoying for me...
If there's a way please let me know.

For one of the problem tracks, right-click, Get Info and look at the Sorting tab. There may be information there that is overriding the main tags.
If so, you can edit it in that tab.

Since changing to os5, some of my emails are being rejected by trend micro software

Since I have strated using os5, i have noted that some emails that i send from the phone are being rejected by Trend Micro Systems Anti Virus softeware.
These are the same email adresses that used previously with out an issue before the upgrade.

OK, I did the following:
I read and then deleted ALL the messages waiting for me at the Tiscali server using their webmail option.
This left my Tiscali in box completely empty.
To be on the safe side, I deleted all my Email Accounts on my Mac and loaded just one, the [email protected] - i.e. my Tiscali email address. I also reset and then changed the password.
I then got Tiscali tech support to reset my mailbox.
I then crossed my fingers!
I then sent myself a number of test emails, some from the Tiscali server webmail option, some from my PC laptop and some from Mail on my beloved Mac.
I can now confirm that I can send emails from my Mac using Mail but cannot download any. All that happens when I click "Get Mail" on Mail is that the program looks at the pop3 mail server at Tiscali but doesn't see the test emails that are waiting there for me to download.
Any suggestions???

Why did I loose some of my album jackets in my iPad and how do I get them back?

Unfortunately, I just have some questions. The answers might help others or you figure out the problem.
1. Are your master images referenced or managed? If some are referenced, you may have just lost the connection (but it should tell you that).
2. Is your use of Time Machine only what you mentioned here or could the .aplibrary be on TM or other backup?
3. You said huge amounts were gone, but presumably not all. What would be the difference?
4. What version of Aperture are you using?
5. Did you ever make a vault?
6. How did you transfer the data vs. just moving the library and any referenced files?
If you are comfortable with doing so, you can look at the contents of your library. For Aperture 3, the data is very logically organized. Right click on the library and select Show Package Contents. You can drill down through just like Finder. Versions and Masters (assuming managed images) are organized by the date the image was taken.

In the Messages > Preferences > General Section is a Line about When I quit, set my Status to Off line.
If you tick this it should stop all Off line Messages from any source from starting up Messages.
Basically it comes from iChat and AIM and Jabber Logins which in AIM's case and some Jabber server can do Off Line IMs.
This means if some Messages whilst you are Off line the server will store the Messages until you are on Line.
However IMAgent in Lion and Mountain Lion and iChatAgent in earlier versions run in the background all the time from Mac Start up.
It is the support app that "Listens" when you have not started the App.
It will launch the app when an Off Line IM comes in.
I have found that iMessages will also launch the Messages app if this setting is not set.
(realistically you are never Off Line with iMessages)
It can help if another device is receiving the iMessages. This way Sync versions of the iMessages don't also wake up the app.

If it's a one-time "glitch," you can try restarting your computer with the iPod still connected. Try ejecting again after the restart.
If the problem recurs, you may have a process running (other than iTunes) that is accessing the iPod's storage. When connected, the iPod's "disk" is like other mounted volumes. This process may be some type of utility that continously monitors your mounted volumes for security reasons, such as to prevent access by malware.
If you know of such a program that you have running in the background, there may be a setting to exclude your iPod's disk.

I have just installed iTunes on my laptop and merged tracks under various artists to form one album but when I sync iTunes to my new ipod the tracks on some of the albums are appearing as single artists..... WHY???? I

That one's consistent with disk/file damage. The first thing I'd try with that is running a disk check (chkdsk) over your C drive.

Windows 7 instructions in the following document: How to use CHKDSK (Check Disk)
Select both Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors, or use chkdsk /r (depending on which way you decide to go about doing this). You'll almost certainly have to schedule the chkdsk to run on startup. The scan should take quite a while ... if it quits after a few minutes or seconds, something's interfering with the scan.
Does the chkdsk find/repair any damage? If so, can you get an install to go through properly afterwards?

Windows media player albums are upside down on Firefox, why and how fix?

In IE 10 albums and playlists in Windows Media Player are listed from 1 - whatever. In Firefox they are listed say from 18 - 1 and are played in that order. How can I get these right side up?

If there is a column heading above the track numbers, try clicking it once or twice to reverse the order. This works in a lot of programs, but I'm not sure about the in-browser media player. Actually, I'm not sure how you were able to display an album in a plugin in Firefox. Is this on a particular website?

Why are my files being sorted upside down?

When I open a folder all my files are being sorted from z to a, even though the arrow to the right is pointing down (which means it should be from A to Z) This really bugs me when it changes. I must be hitting some preferences keyboard short cut by accident and not knowing it. How can I change this? (see picture included to show you what I mean)

Think of the arrow pointing from large to small, so the wide fat or large end of the arrow is at the top and the sharp pointy or small end is at the bottom. So it will sort from large to small and alaphbetically Z is larger than A. Click the Name bar and the arrow will reverse with sharp pointy end, small, at the top and large fat end at the bottom so it will now sort A to Z, as A is deemed to be smaller than Z.

My music library includes a number of repeat album artwork images simply because not all tracks are being listed under the one album making my library more difficult to use than it should. Any advise would be appreciated.
