Some of my application crashes after updating to iOS 5.0.1

i had a 4th generation ipod,at first all of my recent applications works just really fine until i updated it to iOS 5.0.1,most of my best applications or games crashes!!! i really don't know any reason why it keeps crashing!! i even tried updating all of my games and applications just to try and solve but as i said,it always crashes!!!...can someone help me with this!!??

What happens if you try a hard reset of the iPod? To do this, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear.

Don't worry about that. iPhone stuck in recovery mode always happens when you update the iOS on your iPhone. There are two ways to solve it.
First is is to put your iPhone in DFU mode.
Step 1. Turn off iPhone
Step 2. Hold down the Power and Home button.
Step 3. When you see the Apple logo, release the power button but continue holding the Home button down.
Step 4. Open iTunes and wait for it to tell you that it’s in restore mode.
If DFU mode can't solve the problem, I'm afraid the only solution is to try some 3rd party software, like iPhone data recovery or something like that. You may simply try the tutorial here: How to Fix iPhone that is Stuck in Recovery Mode.

Ipad constantly crashing after updating to iOS 8.1.3.

ipad constantly crashing after updating to iOS 8.1.3. I can't restore it to factory settings. I can't even turn it off. It just keeps crashing and trying to reboot etc. Sometimes I see the black screen with the white apple and sometimes the screen is white. I saw it say "Hello" once, but then it crashed again. While rebooting, it does sync up with itunes briefly and is recognized. When I try to restore, it says I need to turn off "find my iphone" but I can't access any settings within the ipad to do that. Also, it tells me I need to enter my passcode to continue, but I can't do that either since the ipad is constantly in crash mode.

The iPod keeps crashing going back to the main screen with my iPad after updated with IOS 4.2 beta 2. Any solution? Anyone has the same issue?

You will probably get several comments from some of the developers that hang out here about moving the question to the developer's forum. Not many of those using the Betas will comment on them on here due to non-disclosure agreement with Apple.

Voice memos app crashing after updating to iOS 8

After upgrading to iOS 8 today, when I launch the Voice Memos app, it attempts to re-index the memos and then in the middle of the process, it crashes. When I re-launch the app, it simply says "No Recordings".
I was really distressed, because I had some adorable recordings of my 3 year old that I didn't think I had backed up yet. I restarted the phone and it tried to index again and crashed.
If you run across this issue, don't panic - they are still on your file system on your phone. Apple will hopefully fix the bug soon. In the meanwhile, to retrieve them, you can use a program that can read your iphone's file system. I used a tool that turned up after I did a search "download iphone file system reader ifun".
After connecting the phone, I went to the leftmost tab and right-clicked "Voice Memos". There is an option there to copy the files to the computer. After they all copy, try dragging the files into iTunes and you should hear all the memos again.

Yes. Me as well. Did a factory reset on my iPad 3 (because iOS 8 killed speed and was crashing) Now I need to do some reinstalls. When I hit the cloud download icon it spins for a second then goes back to the reinstall cloud icon. Nothing!!

Keeps crashing after updating to iOS 6 on iPod touch

I updated my iPod touch 4thgeneration to iOS 6 few days ago, and everything was all good (all of my apps worked perfectly fine before updating to ios 6) until i updated to ios 6 and every single app that's on my iPod keeps crashing including iTunes and App Store. What's the problem? Is it my iPod touch that has a problem or is it the iOS 6 that has a problem? Or is it due to lots of bugs on the update of iOS 6? Please help ASAP! Thank you!

I never had this problem until I kept up with their updates. Every time I update my ipod there's a bigger lag and everything crashes. I thought it was some of the apps and then my photos crash, their itunes and app stores crash, it's just rediculous. Figure it out people. The whole IOS6 and up has done nothing but make your prooducts worse. And it's sad the only way I can get rid of this bug is to back up my almost 2,000 pictures and videos and all my music just to fix your mistakes. Honestly, I think you should provide me with something to backup all my imformation on considering it's apple's mistake not mine, and also the fact that I pay a bill for an Iphone I own EVERY MONTH. I don't pay you guys to ruin my phone. I'm honestly sick of apple products.

IPod Touch 4G, "Video" program crashes after Update to iOS 4.2

After updating iPod Touch 4G to iOS4.2 the program "videos" just crashes.
Details: I can sync the iPod touch with the computer and the videos reappear on first launch of "videos". All videos play o.k. Second launch of "videos" gives me a white screen for several seconds, then "videos" crashes. Every time I launch it, it keeps crashing.
There are 2 conditions that make them reappear and "videos" runs normally (but only once!):
Method 1: Sync with my MacBook
Method 2: I fully close the program "Videos", then change language on the iPod touch to english (any other language seems to work, too. It's the change that seems to be important). Launching "videos" after that successfully shows all my videos. Second launch and the crash is back. Every time. Until I change the language again.
I tried full restore, and I tried Resetting the iPod, both with no success.
BTW: The Video Files are o.k., I can launch them using playlists and they work just fine.
This is really strange. Can anyone help?
Or, can anyone help how to revert back to iOS 4.1?

Very annoying problem and it hasn't been solved in the new iOS 4.3 either!!
After two genius appointments, no solution has been offered from Apple, only a new device, which unfortunately came with iOS 4.2 installed, so I couldn't even leave it on the old iOS 3 and not update it. Although having said that, on this device the Video app was working, but only every other time. Weird I know! But now it won't work at all after the newest update... back to square one.
There are work arounds though, as mentioned in the above posts, if you change the music videos into films then they work perfectly.
Strange how it's only Music Vids that seem to cause this problem!?

Cover flow still crashes after updating to ios 5.0.1!

I know that many people had the cover flow bug that was crashing everytime, in my case after updating it to ios 5.0.1 it still happens! i wanted to know if to other users happen the same or if the issue was solved

Can't connect to some numbers on iPhone 4s after updating to iOS 8

Since updating to iOS 8, I can successfully call some numbers, but for some I get a message such as "Welcome to Verizon Wireless. Your call cannot be completed as dialed. Please check the number and dial again." There's also a mention of "switch 18-2". But I can make the call from a landline. Any fixes?

Try a reset of network settings. To do so, tap on Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. This will not delete your personal data.

Why Do My Applications Crash After Updating 10.8.5?

I was notified of an OS X available update to 10.8.5 [12F37] (from 10.8.4 [12E55]) yesterday evening [September 17th, 2013] and per my SOP I initiated the update. My iMac restarted and allowed the Mac App Store to do its thing... The computer restarted... Everything was fine until I tried to open an application. The app crashed with a report 1-2 seconds after my clicking the dock icon. Ok, So I tried it again just to be sure... It crashed. I tried a variety of different applications on my machine, some crashed out-right, a few opened "normally", while Safari would open and begin loading a page, yet never finish. Safari just sits... halfway loaded progress bar and a blank screen. I have noticed a process called "kernel_task" that is sending and recieving millions more messages than any other process while my iMac is running. This seems like a prime suspect for the problem, but I can get no additional information about just what exactly this process is or what it is doing (this is obviously over my head). I would try to force quit the process to see if that helps at all, but Activity Monitor will not allow me to do so... I'm guessing it's an integral part of the operating system [PID 0, whatever that may be] that might be running amuck.
I have seen several posts on the forums regarding similar issues, but every post I've seen pre-dates this particular update by a good margin and almost every one has not been resolved. I have investigated the options provided in the small handfull of posts that wore the green bubble-badge of resolution with no success.
I am ready to restore my system from an earlier backup just so I can continue to work on some very important, active projects, but that will not correct this problem as with every update that Apple releases, I am compelled to trust them and complete the update on my system to keep it up-to-date.
Has anyone else out there had this current issue? Has any gurus out there have any additional trouble shooting techniques that I could be guided by to help track down this "bug"?

This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, or by corruption of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. Note: If FileVault is enabled on some models, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain iMacs. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin. Test while in safe mode. Same problem? After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

Sporadic application crashes after updating to 10.4.8

on 10.4.7 no crashes at all. just updated about 3 weeks ago or whenever 10.4.8 came out, and still no crashes until a few days ago...is it the os or something else?
i did a complete virus scan, ran disk utility...is it my cache? the apps that are crashing are safari and mail.
also mail is showing a a certain amount of messages, like 5, for instance. then i click on the folder and it says less, like 2?.....
any ideas?

All system applications crashed after updated to 10.6.8

when I tried to launch i.e. software update, safari, itunes and so on,it's giving me errors saying that it's missing webcore and javascriptcore.Even when lauches eclipse, couldn't start JVM.
However I could lauch chrome no problem.
The software update combo to 10.6.8 didn't do the trick.
And I tried to follow the steps online to get the file out of the combo and replace them.
Unfortunatly, when I tried to use Pacifist to get the files, it gives the same error lauching Pacifist.
Please help me with this problem. I had it for 2 months.

I think the correct thing to try is a "reinstall" with the original 10.6 install media. Do NOT select the option to erase the drive, select the option to reinstall without erasing. This way all your data and files remain but all the Apple programs and operating system are replaced. Then apply the combo update after the reinstall. This entire process will take ~ 30-60 minutes. All your files and programs should still be there.
As a precaution, make two backup copies of everything before doing this. I recommend one using Time Machine and the second backup a "clone" of the drive (using Carbon Copy Cloner or using SuperDuper).
If the above "reinstall" does not resolve your issue, then I would check that both backups are sound and good, and then do the reinstall by erasing everything on the drive and reinstalling from scratch. You will then need to restore from a backup. This approach, however, will take ~ hours and may require that you reinstall some software and/or enter codes for purchased software. It's best to avoid this latest "reinstall" if possible.

Complete iphone 6 crash after update to iOS 8.3.1. No possibility to reconfigure or even restore factory setting.

Tried to update my brand new iPhone 6 to iOS 8.3.1. Stopped in the middle of the update. After connecting via USB to itunes a) update of configuration without success and b) reset to factory settings without success: "an unknown failure has been detected (code 56)".
Seems after putting a day's work into getting the phone setup and now wasting the whole evening trying to get the update mess sorted out, I now have the choice between waiting one week to cue in an apple store 100 km away or to send my phone in.
Anyone sharing my fate? Any ideas how to save me from the oddyssee of Apple service?
