Some of my MP4 videos show up on Apple TV while others do not
I have the latest Mac OS (10.8). I have enabled home sharing between my MacBook Air and my Apple TV. I keep home movies in iPhoto and like the option of viewing them over Apple TV. However, some of the videos just are not showing up. Here is the thing, I used to have a dedicated HD camcorder and any video taken with that will not show up in Apple TV. Any other videos (taken with my new camera) DO show up. BUT, the old videos and the new videos are all MP4/H.264 files. So ideally if the Apple TV will play one it should be able to play the other. Am I missing something?
I used to have a Pansonic camcorder then got a Pansonic Lumix megazoom camera that does a great job handling pics and vids. Anyway, the camcorder vids don't load in the apple TV and yet the Lumix ones do.
I should note that both play fine when you view them directly from iPhoto
Is there anyway to figure out more detailed information for the files? Is there a frame rate limitation with these files in Apple TV? Because both files are 1080i clips but the camcorder ones that won't play are 60 fps and the Lumix ones that DO play are 30fps. Those are the only key differences I have been able to note between the file types.

Your iBookG4 is still a pretty awesome Mac. Like already said, it has the power to run Leopard, but it depends if you have an internal DVD drive.
Then I suppose you have to add up the cost of the OS, perhaps another 512MB RAM, iLife 08 and replacements for any favourite apps that you currently use (Leopard breaks a lot of stuff, but Intel breaks even more). Compare it to the cost of a new MacBook, which wil have all of that included and be 3-4x faster too.
It also depends on what you want to achieve with your iBook. My PMG4 still cuts it today, I still use it in preference to my new Mac Pro, It's about the same age as your iBook, and I'll only stop using it when it becomes "painfully" slow. My 1 year old son currently uses the Mac Pro (parts for a Mac Pro are easier to replace than those for a PMG4).
I think your choice is simple, if you can a cheap copy of Tiger, use that, it'll get your iPod Touch up and running. It came in DVD and 4 CD version (by request).
Leopard will work for you too but a lot of the best eye-candy requires quite a meaty graphics card and you may need a RAM upgrade and replacement software - OS9 Classic is not supported in Leopard. -

Most websites I try to save will NOT save as a bookmark...not sure why? Some sites will work while others will not

Firefox shows an unknown certificate error while Chrome does not for same site
On a site at which Credit Card payment info is shown, Firefox is reporting a certificate error while Chrome does not. Prefer to use FF but need to know if warning is right or not. Have cleared the cache and still get the warning. This is new to FF as we've used it on this site for several years.

In order to better test the certificate may we request the certificate without the private keys? I have some backup from the security team if this is possible.
There is a temporary work around as well but I don't recommend turning on all certificates to make sure it is not a compatibility error(ish)
It is possible to check if it is being detected as a bad certificate in Firefox itself to eliminate compatibility issues.

Not all videos show up on Apple TV as do on computer
My son posted a video on YouTube last night and I can find it in You Tube on my computer, but it does not show up in a search with Apple TV or my Internet-connected Panasonic tv. I don't have a YouTube account; I just go to the web site and search for a video. Why don't Apple TV and my tv find the video?
many reasons why it might not show up.
1) youtube/google hasn't converted it to be appletv compatible yet
2) the uploader unticked the syndication option which means it can only be viewed on a computer
3) the video is private which means only certain people can see it -
I'm sure I've clicked some silly setting, which means that a whole bunch of websites now show their text as bold. This include the BBC, the Guardian, and generally text-heavy news sites. But other ones like Facebook, the text appears normal-weighted.
Might there be some way to switch this off?

Some websites like the one of my college uses JavaScripts and they seem to load correctly to a certain point but then not really. For example in one it would say select an option from the left menu. And I do it hut nothing happens. But when I go to the same website in another browser on my phone. The JavaScript works completely and allows me to see whatever I was clickig on that menu. I have seen that there are other websites being affected too. I tried clearing my cookies and data. even restarted my phone. And doesn't seem to work. I don't know how change the configuration any more to make it work like normal. At first I thought it was my school's website but it never got fixed. And now I realized is my safari browser! I wanna keep using it since I am really familiar with It. If someone knows how to fix this please let me know!

How can I get a better looking NTSC video showing on an Apple TV?
Filming on Mini DV tapes using a JVC GY-DV500 camcorder. Capturing via Firewire 400.
What I've been doing is capturing and editing with the DV NTSC 48 khz presets. I export "using QuickTime conversion" for Apple TV. The problem I have is that the video looks extremely pixelated when viewing it on the screen or computer. It looks like square pixels instead of non-square.
I realize that I'm blowing up a 720x480 signal onto an HD screen hooked to an HD source, but it's still a very low-quality look for that. I've tried setting the Apple TV to 480p or exporting at different qualities using different codecs.
If I try to capture with a different preset (ie. DV50 NTSC) I get the error that it had trouble reading from the source tape. (Is that because it's going through a daisy chain? The camcorder has FW400 but the Mac Pro only has a bunch of FW800.)
My thought process is that an SD television channel looks much better than this so my SD material should be equal quality. Where am I losing it? Capture? Editing? Export?I don't know what AppleTV can handle as far as bit rate is concerned, but increase the bit rate as high as it will let you. You are taking DV which is 25Mb/s and compressing it. If you're making an H.264, you should get great results needing no more than 6Mb/s. Bear in mind, the higher the bit rate, the larger the file size.

I've bought several songs from the iTunes stores. Some of the songs automatically download to my laptop, which is set up to receive these songs. Other songs won't download no matter what I try. They should be downloading to my Windows Media Player which is the default player. I'm running Windows 7. If you can help I'd really appreciate it!
If the songs are still on your ipod, make sure autosync is disabled in iTunes on your computer, connect and right click on it in the device list, then choose "transfer purchases" to copy all bought media and apps from your ipod to your computer.
If the songs are not on your computer and got deleted from your ipod as well, you can't get them back, unless you have a backup of your iTunes library as part of your computer backup.
