Some of my songs don't play after upgrading iOS 5

I need help...
I was pretty excited with the new iOS 5 but now, i'm starting to get really disappointed.
First, some of my album art work doesn't show anymore..
second, some of my songs don't play or jumps to another song..
I don't know if it's with the iOS 5 or the iTunes 10.5..
please help..

I eventually managed to fix mine.
All i did was untick the box saying "convert higher bit rate songs to 128 aac" (because i had it previoulsy ticked) and then synced it and it now plays every song without a problem.
However, if you haven't selected the "convert higher bit rate...." then try it and sync as there is nothing to lose if your ipod isn't playing plus the songs don't sound any different and it takes up less space

  • Youtube videos don't play after upgrading from 3.x to 4.0.1.

Youtube videos no longer play after upgrading from Firefox 3.x to the new 4.0.1.
The youtube page loads completely but the video never starts.
Firefox displays the page like its done downloading the video, but no video.
It displays as "done" loading the page with no activity in the page tab or bottom bar... but the video screen is black. Everything but the video loads.

    Hi There
I seem to have experienced the same problem, after applying the APEX 4.0.2 patch, my theme produced errors on the new type of date picker. I use the Bravo theme.
I am now trying to purchase the Delta theme, but unfortunately I see today on the Apex-Themes website that the themes are not available to purchase anymore.
Did you manage to resolve your issue? And do you maybe by any chance know where I can get hold of the Delta theme now?

  • Video podcasts and TV shows don't play after upgrading to iTunes 7.

Any suggestions, I've lost the ability to view podcasts and TV shows in iTunes after upgrading.

Try this, it worked for me.
    1. Quit iTunes.
    2. Go to: Start menu > Control Panels > QuickTime.
    3. Click on the Advanced tab.
    4. Un-check the checkbox next to "Enable Direct3D video acceleration".
    5. Open iTunes.
    6. Play the video.

  • IPod Touch 4G, some songs don't play after Update to iOS 4.2

I have songs on my iPod that do not play when I select them from a playlist. The iPod just keeps skipping the song immediately and moves to the next in the list.
However, the very same song plays, when I select it directly from the "Artists" or "Album" view.
And: The same song plays fine under iOS4.1.
    Any ideas?

    I have the same problems.
I created smart playlists of unlistened music (play count = 0), and it reads the first song, the second, then the fourth, the sixth, etc. It reads the two or three first in order, and then skips one song, plays one, skips another, plays another, etc.
I do not have that problem with "regular" playlists.
I disabled the "shuffle when shaken" option. (translation from French)

  • Some of my songs won't play after I updated to iOS 7

Before I updated my phone to iOS 7 all of my music was playing normally, but after I updated there are several songs that are not playing. When I look at them in the music app, it won't let me click on the song and on the right side there is a red square with a red circle surrounding it.

I encountered the same problem yesterday and found the solution after seeing this same issue posted on Apple support over multiple dates since September. I followed the advice of one commenter and did a restore procedure of the iphone and that solved the issue. The commenter provided a link to a non-apple web site and the instructions differed only slightly from Apple's instructions here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414. I can't find the original advice or that site right now but here's what I did:
    1. ensured that only the usb end of my sync cable was attached to my computer with itunes open.
    2. held the home and top buttons down simultaneously on my untethered iPhone to power it off.
    3. Keeping my finger on the home phone only, connected the iPhone to the other end of the sync cable that was connectd to my computer (fyi, I use a macbook pro and back up everthng to iCloud)
    4. the warning message came up in iTunes about are you sure you want to restore all your media and other data (on the phone) will be erased.  You can click cancel or restore; I chose restore. It took a while but all my apps, photos and music returned to my iPhone without the red circles with red squares on some tracks.
Background:  I updated to ios 7 back in September with no problems.  Yesterday, I imported new digital audio to my itunes library and then went to sync, it appeared that I was way over capacity on my iphone.  I tried removing pictures and apps I don't use. That brought memory down, but the sync would not correct the red circle/squre issue of certain tracks in my music on my iPhone.  These files played fine in iTunes on the computer.  On the Apple thread where I found the advice that I've posted that worked, that person had spoken to an Apple person on the phone who believed that a file must have gotten corrupted on the iPhone and recommended the restore. I think the same happened to me.  The new digital audio files which I had imported into iTunes were mp3s which worked fine in iTunes, but must have gotten corrupted during the first sync. I converted to aac and shrunk to 128, but whenever I tried to sync, things looked normal (except for a diagnostic message) but the waiting to copy took way to long and when things finally started to copy, it was so slow that he sync just quit on its own.  THEN I noticed that all the music that had the red circle/squares were files that I had originally put into iTunes from CDs - so, music not purchased via iTunes.  These were imported quite a while back. Fortunately, they were all backed up to the cloud and restore of the iPhone worked.  All that music is back and I don't get the diagnostic message or slow wait and quit problem now.

  • After 3.0 Upgrade, some songs don't play

I recent upgraded my iPod Touch. Everything still works fine for the most part, except for one small detail -- some random songs don't play. It shows them as playing, it loads, and the tracking bar moves like it normally should, but there's no sound at all. I tried restarting the iPod and resyncing it to no avail. I'm going to attempt a restore here. As of now I can't find any connection between the random songs that will or won't play.
What can I try to do to fix this? If I must I'll try to go back to an older version, though I'd like that to be my last resort.
    Thanks.

Yeah, they worked in iTunes, I double checked that. In fact I found out because I tried playing some songs in my car and thought, hey, they worked fine on iTunes earlier today.
However, I ended up restoring it back to default settings through iTunes and letting it sync everything back up again, and it worked. 0.o Which is odd, since only a few songs didn't work, and I didn't change anything, but meh, this is technology. If it works, don't ask questions, just accept it.
    Thank you!

  • Why won't some of my songs play after upgrade to IOS5?

Why won't some of my songs play after upgrade to IOS5?

I'm confirming that after trying several other ideas, the steps outlined here by S.E.A. and Amelia P. worked perfectly. For those of you having problems with certain songs not playing, or the wrong song playing, follow their "unsynch" "resynch" process. A few notes:
Before starting, I was confident that iOS 5, iTunes 10.5, and Mac OS X 10.7.2 were all up-to-date and functioning correctly.
After selecting my Device in iTunes (an iPhone 4S in my case), then selecting the "Music" tab and unchecking "Sync Music", be sure that it actually Applies the new settings (force a synch to be sure).
After this step, most of the songs disappeared from my device (including all of the corrupted ones) but not all songs (perhaps it left those that I purchased directly on the device?). In any case, don't worry about these. Just re-check the boxes you unchecked and then be sure to force a synch again. It should take a while to complete if you've got a lot of music.
    Perfection!

  • Some mp3 files do not play after upgrading to iTunes 8.0

some mp3 files do not play after upgrading to iTunes 8.0
have upgraded and some songs which used to play on iTunes 7 no longer play. album art is missing. when trying to play on of these songs, nothing appears in the playbar at the top of the window.
it seems the same problem exists in the mac os environment.

The solution I discovered to fix this problem was to create a smart playlist with all song of a kind containing MPEG. Then I went through album by album, and coverted ID3 tags using the value of NONE. This then enabled me to play the songs in iTunes 8.0 and in many cases restored the Album Art.
    Thanks!

Did the original songs that do not appear on the car player play in the Music app on the iPod? Sometimes glitches happen and they do not. Also, If y ohave a 5G iPod/iOS 7, purchase songs  will show with an cloud icon by them if they are not downloaded if Shall All is turned on in Settings>iTunes and App Store

  • Songs won't play after the first playing

I am having a problem whereby songs will not play after the first time they have been played. After I import them into I tunes, I play them once to verify that they have been copied correctly. However several CDs demonstrate the following behavior. After they have successfully played back one time, they no longer work in Itunes. I click them and nothing happens.
I just tried to re-rip the song from the CD that i used originally to put the song into Tunes and received the following error message: "An error occurred while updating the default player for audio file types. You do not have enough access priveleges for this operation". I am the only user of my computer and have administrator priveleges. I don't know how to remedy the problem that apparently exists. Can anyone help?

Can you confirm that Copy files to iTunes Music folder when adding to library is checked in the iTunes Edit menu > Preferences > Advanced tab > General sub-tab on your new computer?

    Hi Deb,
Deauthorizing all is definitely the way to go.  You will just need to authorize your computer again after, as well as your husband's.
Here's some additional information on deauthorizing all:

    I hope this helps!

I downloaded several cds to my external hard drive in .mp3 format. Later, I copied them to iTunes. The songs only play when the external hard drive is plugged in. I tried to load the songs from iTunes to my iPhone and the songs don't play. I thought iTunes allowed me to transfer music to my iPhone and play it. What am I doing wrong?

    Hi skoorb1,
When adding music to iTunes, you can set it to either make a local copy of the file, or simply point to the original location of the file (for example, on an external hard drive). If it is set to do the latter, it will not be able to play or transfer those files when the external hard drive is not plugged in. You may find the following article helpful:
